"Behold, Pharaoh's army which has come out for your assistance is going to return to its own land of Egypt. (nasb) Jer 37:7 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.(kjv) Jer 37:7 "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'Thus you shall say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me: "Behold, Pharaoh's army which has come up to help you will return to Egypt, to their own land.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:8 ============ Jer 37:8 The Chaldeans will also return and fight against this city, and they will capture it and burn it with fire."'(nasb) Jer 37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.(kjv) Jer 37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come back and fight against this city, and take it and burn it with fire." '(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:9 ============ Jer 37:9 Thus says the Lord, 'Do not deceive yourselves, saying, "The Chaldeans will surely go away from us," for they will not go. (nasb) Jer 37:9 Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart.(kjv) Jer 37:9 Thus says the Lord: 'Do not deceive yourselves, saying, "The Chaldeans will surely depart from us," for they will not depart.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:10 ============ Jer 37:10 For even if you had defeated the entire army of Chaldeans who were fighting against you, and there were only wounded men left among them, each man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire.'" (nasb) Jer 37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.(kjv) Jer 37:10 For though you had defeated the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained only wounded men among them, they would rise up, every man in his tent, and burn the city with fire.' "(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:11 ============ Jer 37:11 Now it happened when the army of the Chaldeans had lifted the siege from Jerusalem because of Pharaoh's army, (nasb) Jer 37:11 And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,(kjv) Jer 37:11 And it happened, when the army of the Chaldeans left the siege of Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:12 ============ Jer 37:12 that Jeremiah went out from Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin in order to take possession of some property there among the people. (nasb) Jer 37:12 Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people.(kjv) Jer 37:12 that Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin to claim his property there among the people.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:13 ============ Jer 37:13 While he was at the Gate of Benjamin, a captain of the guard whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah the son of Hananiah was there; and he arrested Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "You are going over to the Chaldeans!"(nasb) Jer 37:13 And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.(kjv) Jer 37:13 And when he was in the Gate of Benjamin, a captain of the guard was there whose name was Irijah the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he seized Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "You are defecting to the Chaldeans!"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:14 ============ Jer 37:14 But Jeremiah said, "A lie! I am not going over to the Chaldeans"; yet he would not listen to him. So Irijah arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials. (nasb) Jer 37:14 Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.(kjv) Jer 37:14 Then Jeremiah said, "False! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans." But he did not listen to him. So Irijah seized Jeremiah and brought him to the princes.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:15 ============ Jer 37:15 Then the officials were angry at Jeremiah and beat him, and they put him in jail in the house of Jonathan the scribe, which they had made into the prison. (nasb) Jer 37:15 Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.(kjv) Jer 37:15 Therefore the princes were angry with Jeremiah, and they struck him and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe. And Jeremiah said, "There is!" Then he said, "You will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon!"(nasb) Jer 37:17 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.(kjv) Jer 37:17 then Zedekiah the king sent and took him out. The king asked him secretly in his house, and said, "Is there any word from the Lord?" And Jeremiah said, "There is." Then he said, "You shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon!"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:18 ============ Jer 37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, "In what way have I sinned against you, or against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison? (nasb) Jer 37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison?(kjv) Jer 37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, "What offense have I committed against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:19 ============ Jer 37:19 Where then are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, 'The king of Babylon will not come against you or against this land'? (nasb) Jer 37:19 Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?(kjv) Jer 37:19 Where now are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, 'The king of Babylon will not come against you or against this land'?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:20 ============ Jer 37:20 But now, please listen, O my lord the king; please let my petition come before you and do not make me return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, that I may not die there."(nasb) Jer 37:20 Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.(kjv) Jer 37:20 Therefore please hear now, O my lord the king. Please, let my petition be accepted before you, and do not make me return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 37:21 ============ Jer 37:21 Then King Zedekiah gave commandment, and they committed Jeremiah to the court of the guardhouse and gave him a loaf of bread daily from the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the court of the guardhouse. (nasb) Jer 37:21 Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent.
