The more his fruit, The more altars he made; The richer his land, The better he made the sacred pillars. (nasb) Hos 10:1 Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.(kjv) Hos 10:1 Israel empties his vine; He brings forth fruit for himself. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:2 ============ Hos 10:2 Their heart is faithless; Now they must bear their guilt. The Lord will break down their altars And destroy their sacred pillars. (nasb) Hos 10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.(kjv) Hos 10:2 Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. He will break down their altars; He will ruin their sacred pillars.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:3 ============ Hos 10:3 Surely now they will say, "We have no king, For we do not revere the Lord. As for the king, what can he do for us?"(nasb) Hos 10:3 For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?(kjv) Hos 10:3 For now they say, "We have no king, Because we did not fear the Lord. And as for a king, what would he do for us?"(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:4 ============ Hos 10:4 They speak mere words, With worthless oaths they make covenants; And judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field. (nasb) Hos 10:4 They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.(kjv) Hos 10:4 They have spoken words, Swearing falsely in making a covenant. Thus judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:5 ============ Hos 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria will fear For the calf of Beth-aven. Indeed, its people will mourn for it, And its idolatrous priests will cry out over it, Over its glory, since it has departed from it. (nasb) Hos 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.(kjv) Hos 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria fear Because of the calf of Beth Aven. For its people mourn for it, And its priests shriek for it-- Because its glory has departed from it.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:6 ============ Hos 10:6 The thing itself will be carried to Assyria As tribute to King Jareb; Ephraim will be seized with shame And Israel will be ashamed of its own counsel. (nasb) Hos 10:6 It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.(kjv) Hos 10:6 The idol also shall be carried to Assyria As a present for King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, And Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:7 ============ Hos 10:7 Samaria will be cut off with her king Like a stick on the surface of the water. (nasb) Hos 10:7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.(kjv) Hos 10:7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off Like a twig on the water.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:8 ============ Hos 10:8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed; Thorn and thistle will grow on their altars; Then they will say to the mountains, "Cover us!" And to the hills, "Fall on us!"(nasb) Hos 10:8 The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.(kjv) Hos 10:8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars; They shall say to the mountains, "Cover us!" And to the hills, "Fall on us!"(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:9 ============ Hos 10:9 From the days of Gibeah you have sinned, O Israel; There they stand! Will not the battle against the sons of iniquity overtake them in Gibeah? (nasb) Hos 10:9 O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.(kjv) Hos 10:9 "O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah; There they stood. The battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity Did not overtake them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:10 ============ Hos 10:10 When it is My desire, I will chastise them; And the peoples will be gathered against them When they are bound for their double guilt. (nasb) Hos 10:10 It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.(kjv) Hos 10:10 When it is My desire, I will chasten them. Peoples shall be gathered against them When I bind them for their two transgressions.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:11 ============ Hos 10:11 Ephraim is a trained heifer that loves to thresh, But I will come over her fair neck with a yoke; I will harness Ephraim, Judah will plow, Jacob will harrow for himself. (nasb) Hos 10:11 And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.(kjv) Hos 10:11 Ephraim is a trained heifer That loves to thresh grain; But I harnessed her fair neck, I will make Ephraim pull a plow. Judah shall plow; Jacob shall break his clods."(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:12 ============ Hos 10:12 Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. (nasb) Hos 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.(kjv) Hos 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:13 ============ Hos 10:13 You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, (nasb) Hos 10:13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.(kjv) Hos 10:13 You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:14 ============ Hos 10:14 Therefore a tumult will arise among your people, And all your fortresses will be destroyed, As Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle, When mothers were dashed in pieces with their children. (nasb) Hos 10:14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Betharbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.(kjv) Hos 10:14 Therefore tumult shall arise among your people, And all your fortresses shall be plundered As Shalman plundered Beth Arbel in the day of battle-- A mother dashed in pieces upon her children.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:15 ============ Hos 10:15 Thus it will be done to you at Bethel because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel will be completely cut off. (nasb) Hos 10:15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.(kjv) Hos 10:15 Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel, Because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel Shall be cut off utterly.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:1 ============ Hos 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son. (nasb) Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.(kjv) Hos 11:1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.(nkjv) |
