Moreover, he makes a covenant with Assyria, And oil is carried to Egypt. (nasb) Hos 12:1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.(kjv) Hos 12:1 "Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. He found Him at Bethel And there He spoke with us, (nasb) Hos 12:4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;(kjv) Hos 12:4 Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him in Bethel, And there He spoke to us--(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:5 ============ Hos 12:5 Even the Lord, the God of hosts, The Lord is His name. (nasb) Hos 12:5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.(kjv) Hos 12:5 That is, the Lord God of hosts. The Lord is His memorable name.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:6 ============ Hos 12:6 Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice, And wait for your God continually. (nasb) Hos 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.(kjv) Hos 12:6 So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:7 ============ Hos 12:7 A merchant, in whose hands are false balances, He loves to oppress. (nasb) Hos 12:7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.(kjv) Hos 12:7 "A cunning Canaanite! Deceitful scales are in his hand; He loves to oppress.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:8 ============ Hos 12:8 And Ephraim said, "Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors they will find in me No iniquity, which would be sin."(nasb) Hos 12:8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.(kjv) Hos 12:8 And Ephraim said, 'Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors They shall find in me no iniquity that is sin.'(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:9 ============ Hos 12:9 But I have been the Lord your God since the land of Egypt; I will make you live in tents again, As in the days of the appointed festival. (nasb) Hos 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.(kjv) Hos 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets."(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:11 ============ Hos 12:11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? Surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls, Yes, their altars are like the stone heaps Beside the furrows of the field. (nasb) Hos 12:11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.(kjv) Hos 12:11 Though Gilead has idols-- Surely they are vanity-- Though they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal, Indeed their altars shall be heaps in the furrows of the field.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:12 ============ Hos 12:12 Now Jacob fled to the land of Aram, And Israel worked for a wife, And for a wife he kept sheep. (nasb) Hos 12:12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.(kjv) Hos 12:12 Jacob fled to the country of Syria; Israel served for a spouse, And for a wife he tended sheep.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 12:13 ============ Hos 12:13 But by a prophet the Lord brought Israel from Egypt, And by a prophet he was kept.
