(nasb-1995) Job 31:1 διαθήκην ἐθέμην τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς μου καὶ οὐ συνήσω ἐπὶ παρθένον (lxx) Job 31:1 [Pepigi fœdus cum oculis meis, ut ne cogitarem quidem de virgine.(Vulgate) Job 31:1 Ich habe einen Bund gemacht mit meinen Augen, daß ich nicht achtete auf eine Jungfrau.(dhs) 1 ׃31 בְּ֭רִית כָּרַ֣תִּי לְעֵינָ֑י וּמָ֥ה אֶ֝תְבּוֹנֵ֗ן עַל־בְּתוּלָֽה׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:1 "I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:2 ============ Job 31:2 "And what is the portion of God from above Or the heritage of the Almighty from on high? (nasb-1995) Job 31:2 καὶ τί ἐμέρισεν ὁ θεὸς ἀπάνωθεν καὶ κληρονομία ἱκανοῦ ἐξ ὑψίστων (lxx) Job 31:2 Quam enim partem haberet in me Deus desuper, et hæreditatem Omnipotens de excelsis?(Vulgate) Job 31:2 Was gäbe mir Gott sonst als Teil von oben und was für ein Erbe der Allmächtige in der Höhe?(dhs) 2 ׃31 וּמֶ֤ה ׀ חֵ֣לֶק אֱל֣וֹהַּ מִמָּ֑עַל וְֽנַחֲלַ֥ת שַׁ֝דַּ֗י מִמְּרֹמִֽים׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:2 For what is the allotment of God from above, And the inheritance of the Almighty from on high?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:3 ============ Job 31:3 "Is it not calamity to the unjust And disaster to those who work iniquity? (nasb-1995) Job 31:3 οὐχὶ ἀπώλεια τῷ ἀδίκῳ καὶ ἀπαλλοτρίωσις τοῖς ποιοῦσιν ἀνομίαν (lxx) Job 31:3 Numquid non perditio est iniquo, et alienatio operantibus injustitiam?(Vulgate) Job 31:3 Wird nicht der Ungerechte Unglück haben und ein Übeltäter verstoßen werden?(dhs) 3 ׃31 הֲלֹא־אֵ֥יד לְעַוָּ֑ל וְ֝נֵ֗כֶר לְפֹ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:3 Is it not destruction for the wicked, And disaster for the workers of iniquity?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:4 ============ Job 31:4 "Does He not see my ways And number all my steps? (nasb-1995) Job 31:4 οὐχὶ αὐτὸς ὄψεται ὁδόν μου καὶ πάντα τὰ διαβήματά μου ἐξαριθμήσεται (lxx) Job 31:4 Nonne ipse considerat vias meas, et cunctos gressus meos dinumerat?(Vulgate) Job 31:4 Sieht er nicht meine Wege und zählt alle meine Gänge?(dhs) 4 ׃31 הֲלֹא־ה֭וּא יִרְאֶ֣ה דְרָכָ֑י וְֽכָל־צְעָדַ֥י יִסְפּֽוֹר׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:4 Does He not see my ways, And count all my steps?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:5 ============ Job 31:5 "If I have walked with falsehood, And my foot has hastened after deceit, (nasb-1995) Job 31:5 εἰ δὲ ἤμην πεπορευμένος μετὰ γελοιαστῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐσπούδασεν ὁ πούς μου εἰς δόλον (lxx) Job 31:5 Si ambulavi in vanitate, et festinavit in dolo pes meus,(Vulgate) Job 31:5 Habe ich gewandelt in Eitelkeit, oder hat mein Fuß geeilt zum Betrug?(dhs) 5 ׃31 אִם־הָלַ֥כְתִּי עִם־שָׁ֑וְא וַתַּ֖חַשׁ עַל־מִרְמָ֣ה רַגְלֽ͏ִי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:5 "If I have walked with falsehood, Or if my foot has hastened to deceit,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:6 ============ Job 31:6 Let Him weigh me with accurate scales, And let God know my integrity.(nasb-1995) Job 31:6 ἱσταίη με ἄρα ἐν ζυγῷ δικαίῳ οἶδεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τὴν ἀκακίαν μου (lxx) Job 31:6 appendat me in statera justa, et sciat Deus simplicitatem meam.(Vulgate) Job 31:6 So wäge man mich auf der rechten Waage, so wird Gott erfahren meine Unschuld.(dhs) 6 ׃31 יִשְׁקְלֵ֥נִי בְמֹאזְנֵי־צֶ֑דֶק וְיֵדַ֥ע אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ תֻּמָּתִֽי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:6 Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:7 ============ Job 31:7 "If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands, (nasb-1995) Job 31:7 εἰ ἐξέκλινεν ὁ πούς μου ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ εἰ δὲ καὶ τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ ἐπηκολούθησεν ἡ καρδία μου εἰ δὲ καὶ ταῖς χερσίν μου ἡψάμην δώρων (lxx) Job 31:7 Si declinavit gressus meus de via, et si secutum est oculos meos cor meum, et si manibus meis adhæsit macula,(Vulgate) Job 31:7 Ist mein Gang gewichen aus dem Wege und mein Herz meinen Augen nachgefolgt und klebt ein Flecken an meinen Händen,(dhs) 7 ׃31 אִ֥ם תִּטֶּ֣ה אַשֻּׁרִי֮ מִנִּ֢י הַ֫דָּ֥רֶךְ וְאַחַ֣ר עֵ֭ינַי הָלַ֣ךְ לִבִּ֑י וּ֝בְכַפַּ֗י דָּ֣בַק מֻאוּֽם׃ פ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:7 If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart walked after my eyes, Or if any spot adheres to my hands,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:8 ============ Job 31:8 Let me sow and another eat, And let my crops be uprooted.(nasb-1995) Job 31:8 σπείραιμι ἄρα καὶ ἄλλοι φάγοισαν ἄρριζος δὲ γενοίμην ἐπὶ γῆς (lxx) Job 31:8 seram, et alius comedat, et progenies mea eradicetur.(Vulgate) Job 31:8 so müsse ich säen, und ein andrer esse es; und mein Geschlecht müsse ausgewurzelt werden.(dhs) 8 ׃31 אֶ֭זְרְעָה וְאַחֵ֣ר יֹאכֵ֑ל וְֽצֶאֱצָאַ֥י יְשֹׁרָֽשׁוּ׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:8 Then let me sow, and another eat; Yes, let my harvest be rooted out.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:9 ============ Job 31:9 "If my heart has been enticed by a woman, Or I have lurked at my neighbor's doorway, (nasb-1995) Job 31:9 εἰ ἐξηκολούθησεν ἡ καρδία μου γυναικὶ ἀνδρὸς ἑτέρου εἰ καὶ ἐγκάθετος ἐγενόμην ἐπὶ θύραις αὐτῆς (lxx) Job 31:9 Si deceptum est cor meum super muliere, et si ad ostium amici mei insidiatus sum,(Vulgate) Job 31:9 Hat sich mein Herz lassen reizen zum Weibe und habe ich an meines Nächsten Tür gelauert,(dhs) 9 ׃31 אִם־נִפְתָּ֣ה לִ֭בִּי עַל־אִשָּׁ֑ה וְעַל־פֶּ֖תַח רֵעִ֣י אָרָֽבְתִּי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:9 "If my heart has been enticed by a woman, Or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:10 ============ Job 31:10 May my wife grind for another, And let others kneel down over her.(nasb-1995) Job 31:10 ἀρέσαι ἄρα καὶ ἡ γυνή μου ἑτέρῳ τὰ δὲ νήπιά μου ταπεινωθείη (lxx) Job 31:10 scortum alterius sit uxor mea, et super illam incurventur alii.(Vulgate) Job 31:10 so müsse mein Weib von einem andern geschändet werden, und andere müssen bei ihr liegen;(dhs) 10 ׃31 תִּטְחַ֣ן לְאַחֵ֣ר אִשְׁתִּ֑י וְ֝עָלֶ֗יהָ יִכְרְע֥וּן אֲחֵרִֽין׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:10 Then let my wife grind for another, And let others bow down over her.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:11 ============ Job 31:11 "For that would be a lustful crime; Moreover, it would be an iniquity punishable by judges.(nasb-1995) Job 31:11 θυμὸς γὰρ ὀργῆς ἀκατάσχετος τὸ μιᾶναι ἀνδρὸς γυναῖκα (lxx) Job 31:11 Hoc enim nefas est, et iniquitas maxima.(Vulgate) Job 31:11 denn das ist ein Frevel und eine Missetat für die Richter.(dhs) 11 ׃31 כִּי־*הוא **הִ֥יא זִמָּ֑ה *והיא **וְ֝ה֗וּא עָוֺ֥ן פְּלִילִֽים׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:11 For that would be wickedness; Yes, it would be iniquity deserving of judgment.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:12 ============ Job 31:12 "For it would be fire that consumes to Abaddon, And would uproot all my increase.(nasb-1995) Job 31:12 πῦρ γάρ ἐστιν καιόμενον ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν μερῶν οὗ δ᾽ ἂν ἐπέλθῃ ἐκ ῥιζῶν ἀπώλεσεν (lxx) Job 31:12 Ignis est usque ad perditionem devorans, et omnia eradicans genimina.(Vulgate) Job 31:12 Denn das wäre ein Feuer, das bis in den Abgrund verzehrte und all mein Einkommen auswurzelte.(dhs) 12 ׃31 כִּ֤י אֵ֣שׁ הִ֭יא עַד־אֲבַדּ֣וֹן תֹּאכֵ֑ל וּֽבְכָל־תְּב֖וּאָתִ֣י תְשָׁרֵֽשׁ׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:12 For that would be a fire that consumes to destruction, And would root out all my increase.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:13 ============ Job 31:13 "If I have despised the claim of my male or female slaves When they filed a complaint against me, (nasb-1995) Job 31:13 εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐφαύλισα κρίμα θεράποντός μου ἢ θεραπαίνης κρινομένων αὐτῶν πρός με (lxx) Job 31:13 Si contempsi subire judicium cum servo meo et ancilla mea, cum disceptarent adversum me:(Vulgate) Job 31:13 Hab ich verachtet das Recht meines Knechtes oder meiner Magd, wenn sie eine Sache wider mich hatten?(dhs) 13 ׃31 אִם־אֶמְאַ֗ס מִשְׁפַּ֣ט עַ֭בְדִּי וַאֲמָתִ֑י בְּ֝רִבָ֗ם עִמָּדִֽי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:13 "If I have despised the cause of my male or female servant When they complained against me,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:14 ============ Job 31:14 What then could I do when God arises? And when He calls me to account, what will I answer Him? (nasb-1995) Job 31:14 τί γὰρ ποιήσω ἐὰν ἔτασίν μου ποιήσηται ὁ κύριος ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἐπισκοπήν τίνα ἀπόκρισιν ποιήσομαι (lxx) Job 31:14 quid enim faciam cum surrexerit ad judicandum Deus? et cum quæsierit, quid respondebo illi?(Vulgate) Job 31:14 Was wollte ich tun, wenn Gott sich aufmachte, und was würde ich antworten, wenn er heimsuchte?(dhs) 14 ׃31 וּמָ֣ה אֶֽ֭עֱשֶׂה כִּֽי־יָק֣וּם אֵ֑ל וְכִֽי־יִ֝פְקֹ֗ד מָ֣ה אֲשִׁיבֶֽנּוּ׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:14 What then shall I do when God rises up? When He punishes, how shall I answer Him?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:15 ============ Job 31:15 "Did not He who made me in the womb make him, And the same one fashion us in the womb? (nasb-1995) Job 31:15 πότερον οὐχ ὡς καὶ ἐγὼ ἐγενόμην ἐν γαστρί καὶ ἐκεῖνοι γεγόνασιν γεγόναμεν δὲ ἐν τῇ αὐτῇ κοιλίᾳ (lxx) Job 31:15 Numquid non in utero fecit me, qui et illum operatus est, et formavit me in vulva unus?(Vulgate) Job 31:15 Hat ihn nicht auch der gemacht, der mich in Mutterleibe machte, und hat ihn im Schoße ebensowohl bereitet?(dhs) 15 ׃31 הֲֽ֝לֹא־בַ֭בֶּטֶן עֹשֵׂ֣נִי עָשָׂ֑הוּ וַ֝יְכֻנֶ֗נּוּ בָּרֶ֥חֶם אֶחָֽד׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:15 Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?(nkjv) ======= Job 31:16 ============ Job 31:16 "If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, (nasb-1995) Job 31:16 ἀδύνατοι δὲ χρείαν ἥν ποτ᾽ εἶχον οὐκ ἀπέτυχον χήρας δὲ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν οὐκ ἐξέτηξα (lxx) Job 31:16 Si negavi quod volebant pauperibus, et oculos viduæ expectare feci;(Vulgate) Job 31:16 Habe ich den Dürftigen ihr Begehren versagt und die Augen der Witwe lassen verschmachten?(dhs) 16 ׃31 אִם־אֶ֭מְנַע מֵחֵ֣פֶץ דַּלִּ֑ים וְעֵינֵ֖י אַלְמָנָ֣ה אֲכַלֶּֽה׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:16 "If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:17 ============ Job 31:17 Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the orphan has not shared it(nasb-1995) Job 31:17 εἰ δὲ καὶ τὸν ψωμόν μου ἔφαγον μόνος καὶ οὐχὶ ὀρφανῷ μετέδωκα (lxx) Job 31:17 si comedi buccellam meam solus, et non comedit pupillus ex ea(Vulgate) Job 31:17 Hab ich meinen Bissen allein gegessen, und hat nicht der Waise auch davon gegessen?(dhs) 17 ׃31 וְאֹכַ֣ל פִּתִּ֣י לְבַדִּ֑י וְלֹא־אָכַ֖ל יָת֣וֹם מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:17 Or eaten my morsel by myself, So that the fatherless could not eat of it(nkjv) ======= Job 31:18 ============ Job 31:18 ( But from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And from infancy I guided her), (nasb-1995) Job 31:18 ὅτι ἐκ νεότητός μου ἐξέτρεφον ὡς πατὴρ καὶ ἐκ γαστρὸς μητρός μου ὡδήγησα (lxx) Job 31:18 (quia ab infantia mea crevit mecum miseratio, et de utero matris meæ egressa est mecum);(Vulgate) Job 31:18 Denn ich habe mich von Jugend auf gehalten wie ein Vater, und von meiner Mutter Leib an habe ich gerne getröstet.(dhs) 18 ׃31 כִּ֣י מִ֭נְּעוּרַי גְּדֵלַ֣נִי כְאָ֑ב וּמִבֶּ֖טֶן אִמִּ֣י אַנְחֶֽנָּה׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:18(But from my no covering, (nasb-1995) Job 31:19 εἰ δὲ καὶ ὑπερεῖδον γυμνὸν ἀπολλύμενον καὶ οὐκ ἠμφίασα (lxx) Job 31:19 si despexi pereuntem, eo quod non habuerit indumentum, et absque operimento pauperem;(Vulgate) Job 31:19 Hab ich jemand sehen umkommen, daß er kein Kleid hatte, und den Armen ohne Decke gehen lassen?(dhs) 19 ׃31 אִם־אֶרְאֶ֣ה א֭וֹבֵד מִבְּלִ֣י לְב֑וּשׁ וְאֵ֥ין כְּ֝ס֗וּת לָאֶבְיֽוֹן׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:19 If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing, Or any poor man without covering;(nkjv) ======= Job 31:20 ============ Job 31:20 If his loins have not thanked me, And if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep, (nasb-1995) Job 31:20 ἀδύνατοι δὲ εἰ μὴ εὐλόγησάν με ἀπὸ δὲ κουρᾶς ἀμνῶν μου ἐθερμάνθησαν οἱ ὦμοι αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 31:20 si non benedixerunt mihi latera ejus, et de velleribus ovium mearum calefactus est;(Vulgate) Job 31:20 Haben mich nicht gesegnet seine Lenden, da er von den Fellen meiner Lämmer erwärmt ward?(dhs) 20 ׃31 אִם־לֹ֣א בֵרֲכ֣וּנִי *חלצו **חֲלָצָ֑יו וּמִגֵּ֥ז כְּ֝בָשַׂי יִתְחַמָּֽם׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:20 If his heart has not blessed me, And if he was not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;(nkjv) ======= Job 31:21 ============ Job 31:21 If I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, Because I saw I had support in the gate, (nasb-1995) Job 31:21 εἰ ἐπῆρα ὀρφανῷ χεῖρα πεποιθὼς ὅτι πολλή μοι βοήθεια περίεστιν (lxx) Job 31:21 si levavi super pupillum manum meam, etiam cum viderem me in porta superiorem:(Vulgate) Job 31:21 Hab ich meine Hand an den Waisen gelegt, weil ich sah, daß ich im Tor Helfer hatte?(dhs) 21 ׃31 אִם־הֲנִיפ֣וֹתִי עַל־יָת֣וֹם יָדִ֑י כִּֽי־אֶרְאֶ֥ה בַ֝שַּׁ֗עַר עֶזְרָתִֽי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:21 If I have raised my hand against the fatherless, When I saw I had help in the gate;(nkjv) ======= Job 31:22 ============ Job 31:22 Let my shoulder fall from the socket, And my arm be broken off at the elbow.(nasb-1995) Job 31:22 ἀποσταίη ἄρα ὁ ὦμός μου ἀπὸ τῆς κλειδός ὁ δὲ βραχίων μου ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγκῶνός μου συντριβείη (lxx) Job 31:22 humerus meus a junctura sua cadat, et brachium meum cum suis ossibus confringatur.(Vulgate) Job 31:22 So falle meine Schulter von der Achsel, und mein Arm breche von der Röhre.(dhs) 22 ׃31 כְּ֭תֵפִי מִשִּׁכְמָ֣ה תִפּ֑וֹל וְ֝אֶזְרֹעִ֗י מִקָּנָ֥ה תִשָּׁבֵֽר׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:22 Then let my arm fall from my shoulder, Let my arm be torn from the socket.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:23 ============ Job 31:23 "For calamity from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.(nasb-1995) Job 31:23 φόβος γὰρ κυρίου συνέσχεν με καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ λήμματος αὐτοῦ οὐχ ὑποίσω (lxx) Job 31:23 Semper enim quasi tumentes super me fluctus timui Deum, et pondus ejus ferre non potui.(Vulgate) Job 31:23 Denn ich fürchte Gottes Strafe über mich und könnte seine Last nicht ertragen.(dhs) 23 ׃31 כִּ֤י פַ֣חַד אֵ֭לַי אֵ֣יד אֵ֑ל וּ֝מִשְּׂאֵת֗וֹ לֹ֣א אוּכָֽל׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:23 For destruction from God is a terror to me, And because of His magnificence I cannot endure.(nkjv) ======= Job 31:24 ============ Job 31:24 "If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust, (nasb-1995) Job 31:24 εἰ ἔταξα χρυσίον ἰσχύν μου εἰ δὲ καὶ λίθῳ πολυτελεῖ ἐπεποίθησα (lxx) Job 31:24 Si putavi aurum robur meum, et obrizo dixi: Fiducia mea;(Vulgate) Job 31:24 Hab ich das Gold zu meiner Zuversicht gemacht und zu dem Goldklumpen gesagt: "Mein Trost"?(dhs) 24 ׃31 אִם־שַׂ֣מְתִּי זָהָ֣ב כִּסְלִ֑י וְ֝לַכֶּ֗תֶם אָמַ֥רְתִּי מִבְטַחִֽי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:24 "If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold, 'You are my confidence';(nkjv) ======= Job 31:25 ============ Job 31:25 If I have gloated because my wealth was great, And because my hand had secured so much; (nasb-1995) Job 31:25 εἰ δὲ καὶ εὐφράνθην πολλοῦ πλούτου μοι γενομένου εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐπ᾽ ἀναριθμήτοις ἐθέμην χεῖρά μου (lxx) Job 31:25 si lætatus sum super multis divitiis meis, et quia plurima reperit manus mea;(Vulgate) Job 31:25 Hab ich mich gefreut, daß ich großes Gut hatte und meine Hand allerlei erworben hatte?(dhs) 25 ׃31 אִם־אֶ֭שְׂמַח כִּי־רַ֣ב חֵילִ֑י וְכִֽי־כַ֝בִּ֗יר מָצְאָ֥ה יָדִֽי׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:25 If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, And because my hand had gained much;(nkjv) ======= Job 31:26 ============ Job 31:26 If I have looked at the sun when it shone Or the moon going in splendor, (nasb-1995) Job 31:26 ἦ οὐχ ὁρῶ μὲν ἥλιον τὸν ἐπιφαύσκοντα ἐκλείποντα σελήνην δὲ φθίνουσαν οὐ γὰρ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῖς ἐστιν (lxx) Job 31:26 si vidi solem cum fulgeret, et lunam incedentem clare,(Vulgate) Job 31:26 Hab ich das Licht angesehen, wenn es hell leuchtete, und den Mond, wenn er voll ging,(dhs) 26 ׃31 אִם־אֶרְאֶ֣ה א֖וֹר כִּ֣י יָהֵ֑ל וְ֝יָרֵ֗חַ יָקָ֥ר הֹלֵֽךְ׃ Job-(Hebrew) Job 31:26 If I have observed the sun when it shines, Or the moon moving in brightness,(nkjv) ======= Job 31:27 ============ Job 31:27 And my heart became secretly enticed, And my hand threw a kiss from my mouth, (nasb-1995) Job 31:27 καὶ εἰ ἠπατήθη λάθρᾳ ἡ καρδία μου εἰ δὲ
