Today's Date: ======= Joshua 4:1 ============ Jos 4:1 Now when all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,(nasb) Jos 4:1 Quibus transgressis, dixit Dominus ad Josue:(vulgate) Josué 4:1 Y aconteció que cuando toda la gente hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán, Jehová habló a Josué, diciendo:(E) Josué 4:1 Lorsque toute la nation eut achevé de passer le Jourdain, l'Eternel dit à Josué:(F) Jos 4:1 Da nun das Volk ganz über den Jordan gegangen war, sprach der HERR zu Josua:(D) Jos 4:1 καὶ ἐπεὶ συνετέλεσεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς διαβαίνων τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ εἶπεν κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ λέγων(lxx) Jos 4:1 And it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over the Jordan, that the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying:(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:2 ============ Jos 4:2 "Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from each tribe,(nasb) Jos 4:2 Elige duodecim viros singulos per singulas tribus:(vulgate) Josué 4:2 Tomad del pueblo doce hombres, uno de cada tribu,(E) Josué 4:2 Prenez douze hommes parmi le peuple, un homme de chaque tribu.(F) Jos 4:2 Nehmt euch zwölf Männer, aus jeglichem Stamm einen,(D) Jos 4:2 παραλαβὼν ἄνδρας ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ ἕνα ἀφ᾽ ἑκάστης φυλῆς(lxx) Jos 4:2 "Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:3 ============ Jos 4:3 and command them, saying, 'Take up for yourselves twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet are standing firm, and carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place where you will lodge tonight.'"(nasb) Jos 4:3 et præcipe eis ut tollant de medio Jordanis alveo, ubi steterunt pedes sacerdotum, duodecim durissimos lapides, quos ponetis in loco castrorum, ubi fixeritis hac nocte tentoria.(vulgate) Josué 4:3 y mandadles, diciendo: Tomaos de aquí del medio del Jordán, del lugar donde están firmes los pies de los sacerdotes, doce piedras, las cuales pasaréis con vosotros, y las asentaréis en el alojamiento donde habéis de pasar la noche.(E) Josué 4:3 Donnez-leur cet ordre: Enlevez d'ici, du milieu du Jourdain, de la place où les sacrificateurs se sont arrêtés de pied ferme, douze pierres, que vous emporterez avec vous, et que vous déposerez dans le lieu où vous passerez cette nuit.(F) Jos 4:3 und gebietet ihnen und sprecht: Hebt auf aus dem Jordan zwölf Steine von dem Ort, da die Füße der Priester stillgestanden sind, und bringt sie mit euch hinüber, daß ihr sie in der Herberge laßt, da ihr diese Nacht herbergen werdet.(D) Jos 4:3 σύνταξον αὐτοῖς λέγων ἀνέλεσθε ἐκ μέσου τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἑτοίμους δώδεκα λίθους καὶ τούτους διακομίσαντες ἅμα ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς θέτε αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ στρατοπεδείᾳ ὑμῶν οὗ ἐὰν παρεμβάλητε ἐκεῖ τὴν νύκτα(lxx) Jos 4:3 and command them, saying, 'Take for yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet stood firm. You shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where you lodge tonight.' "(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:4 ============ Jos 4:4 So Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the sons of Israel, one man from each tribe;(nasb) Jos 4:4 Vocavitque Josue duodecim viros, quos elegerat de filiis Israël, singulos de singulis tribubus,(vulgate) Josué 4:4 Entonces Josué llamó a los doce hombres, los cuales él había preparado de entre los hijos de Israel, uno de cada tribu.(E) Josué 4:4 Josué appela les douze hommes qu'il choisit parmi les enfants d'Israël, un homme de chaque tribu.(F) Jos 4:4 Da rief Josua die zwölf Männer, die er verordnet hatte aus den Kindern Israel, aus jeglichem Stamm einen,(D) Jos 4:4 καὶ ἀνακαλεσάμενος Ἰησοῦς δώδεκα ἄνδρας τῶν ἐνδόξων ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἕνα ἀφ᾽ ἑκάστης φυλῆς(lxx) Jos 4:4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:5 ============ Jos 4:5 and Joshua said to them, "Cross again to the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel.(nasb) Jos 4:5 et ait ad eos: Ite ante arcam Domini Dei vestri ad Jordanis medium, et portate inde singuli singulos lapides in humeris vestris, juxta numerum filiorum Israël,(vulgate) Josué 4:5 Y les dijo Josué: Pasad delante del arca de Jehová vuestro Dios al medio del Jordán; y cada uno de vosotros tome una piedra sobre su hombro, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel;(E) Josué 4:5 Il leur dit: Passez devant l'arche de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, au milieu du Jourdain, et que chacun de vous charge une pierre sur son épaule, selon le nombre des tribus des enfants d'Israël,(F) Jos 4:5 und sprach zu ihnen: Geht hinüber vor die Lade des HERRN, eures Gottes, mitten in den Jordan und hebe ein jeglicher einen Stein auf seine Achsel, nach der Zahl der Stämme der Kinder Israel,(D) Jos 4:5 εἶπεν αὐτοῖς προσαγάγετε ἔμπροσθέν μου πρὸ προσώπου κυρίου εἰς μέσον τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἀνελόμενος ἐκεῖθεν ἕκαστος λίθον ἀράτω ἐπὶ τῶν ὤμων αὐτοῦ κατὰ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν δώδεκα φυλῶν τοῦ Ισραηλ(lxx) Jos 4:5 and Joshua said to them: "Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:6 ============ Jos 4:6 Let this be a sign among you, so that when your children ask later, saying, 'What do these stones mean to you?'(nasb) Jos 4:6 ut sit signum inter vos: et quando interrogaverint vos filii vestri cras, dicentes: Quid sibi volunt isti lapides?(vulgate) Josué 4:6 Para que esto sea señal entre vosotros; y cuando vuestros hijos preguntaren a sus padres mañana, diciendo: ¿Qué significan para vosotros estas piedras?(E) Josué 4:6 afin que cela soit un signe au milieu de vous. Lorsque vos enfants demanderont un jour: Que signifient pour vous ces pierres?(F) Jos 4:6 daß sie ein Zeichen seien unter euch. Wenn eure Kinder hernach ihre Väter fragen werden und sprechen: Was tun diese Steine da?(D) Jos 4:6 ἵνα ὑπάρχωσιν ὑμῖν οὗτοι εἰς σημεῖον κείμενον διὰ παντός ἵνα ὅταν ἐρωτᾷ σε ὁ υἱός σου αὔριον λέγων τί εἰσιν οἱ λίθοι οὗτοι ὑμῖν(lxx) Jos 4:6 that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, 'What do these stones mean to you?'(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:7 ============ Jos 4:7 then you shall say to them, 'Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off.' So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever."(nasb) Jos 4:7 respondebitis eis: Defecerunt aquæ Jordanis ante arcam fœderis Domini, cum transiret eum: idcirco positi sunt lapides isti in monimentum filiorum Israël usque in æternum.(vulgate) Josué 4:7 Les responderéis: Que las aguas del Jordán fueron partidas delante del arca del pacto de Jehová; cuando ella pasó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se partieron; y estas piedras serán por memorial a los hijos de Israel para siempre.(E) Josué 4:7 vous leur direz: Les eaux du Jourdain ont été coupées devant l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel; lorsqu'elle passa le Jourdain, les eaux du Jourdain ont été coupées, et ces pierres seront à jamais un souvenir pour les enfants d'Israël.(F) Jos 4:7 so sollt ihr ihnen sagen: Weil das Wasser des Jordans abgerissen ist vor der Lade des Bundes des HERRN, da sie durch den Jordan ging, sollen diese Steine den Kindern Israels ein ewiges Gedächtnis sein.(D) Jos 4:7 καὶ σὺ δηλώσεις τῷ υἱῷ σου λέγων ὅτι ἐξέλιπεν ὁ Ιορδάνης ποταμὸς ἀπὸ προσώπου κιβωτοῦ διαθήκης κυρίου πάσης τῆς γῆς ὡς διέβαινεν αὐτόν καὶ ἔσονται οἱ λίθοι οὗτοι ὑμῖν μνημόσυνον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος(lxx) Jos 4:7 Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:8 ============ Jos 4:8 Thus the sons of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, just as the Lord spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel; and they carried them over with them to the lodging place and put them down there.(nasb) Jos 4:8 Fecerunt ergo filii Israël sicut præcepit eis Josue, portantes de medio Jordanis alveo duodecim lapides, ut Dominus ei imperarat, juxta numerum filiorum Israël, usque ad locum in quo castrametati sunt, ibique posuerunt eos.(vulgate) Josué 4:8 Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así como Josué les mandó. Tomaron doce piedras del medio del Jordán, como Jehová lo había dicho a Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, y las pasaron consigo al alojamiento, y las asentaron allí.(E) Josué 4:8 Les enfants d'Israël firent ce que Josué leur avait ordonné. Ils enlevèrent douze pierres du milieu du Jourdain, comme l'Eternel l'avait dit à Josué, selon le nombre des tribus des enfants d'Israël, ils les emportèrent avec eux, et les déposèrent dans le lieu où ils devaient passer la nuit.(F) Jos 4:8 Da taten die Kinder Israel, wie ihnen Josua geboten hatte, und trugen zwölf Steine mitten aus dem Jordan, wie der HERR zu Josua gesagt hatte, nach der Zahl der Stämme der Kinder Israel, und brachten sie mit sich hinüber in die Herberge und ließen sie daselbst.(D) Jos 4:8 καὶ ἐποίησαν οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καθότι ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ καὶ λαβόντες δώδεκα λίθους ἐκ μέσου τοῦ Ιορδάνου καθάπερ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ ἐν τῇ συντελείᾳ τῆς διαβάσεως τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ διεκόμισαν ἅμα ἑαυτοῖς εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν καὶ ἀπέθηκαν ἐκεῖ(lxx) Jos 4:8 And the children of Israel did so, just as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the midst of the Jordan, as the Lord had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:9 ============ Jos 4:9 Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan at the place where the feet of the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing, and they are there to this day.(nasb) Jos 4:9 Alios quoque duodecim lapides posuit Josue in medio Jordanis alveo, ubi steterunt sacerdotes qui portabant arcam fœderis: et sunt ibi usque in præsentem diem.~(vulgate) Josué 4:9 Josué también levantó doce piedras en medio del Jordán, en el lugar donde estuvieron los pies de los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto; y han estado allí hasta hoy.(E) Josué 4:9 Josué dressa aussi douze pierres au milieu du Jourdain, à la place où s'étaient arrêtés les pieds des sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche de l'alliance; et elles y sont restées jusqu'à ce jour.(F) Jos 4:9 Und Josua richtete zwölf Steine auf mitten im Jordan, da die Füße der Priester gestanden waren, die die Lade des Bundes trugen; die sind noch daselbst bis auf diesen Tag.(D) Jos 4:9 ἔστησεν δὲ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἄλλους δώδεκα λίθους ἐν αὐτῷ τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἐν τῷ γενομένῳ τόπῳ ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας τῶν ἱερέων τῶν αἰρόντων τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου καί εἰσιν ἐκεῖ ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας(lxx) Jos 4:9 Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:10 ============ Jos 4:10 For the priests who carried the ark were standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that the Lord had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. And the people hurried and crossed;(nasb) Jos 4:10 Sacerdotes autem qui portabant arcam, stabant in Jordanis medio, donec omnia complerentur, quæ Josue, ut loqueretur ad populum, præceperat Dominus, et dixerat ei Moyses. Festinavitque populus, et transiit.(vulgate) Josué 4:10 Y los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca se pararon en medio del Jordán, hasta tanto que se hizo todo lo que Jehová había mandado a Josué que hablase al pueblo, conforme a todas las cosas que Moisés había mandado a Josué; y el pueblo se dio prisa y pasó.(E) Josué 4:10 Les sacrificateurs qui portaient l'arche se tinrent au milieu du Jourdain jusqu'à l'entière exécution de ce que l'Eternel avait ordonné à Josué de dire au peuple, selon tout ce que Moïse avait prescrit à Josué. Et le peuple se hâta de passer.(F) Jos 4:10 Denn die Priester, die die Lade trugen, standen mitten im Jordan, bis daß alles ausgerichtet ward, was der HERR dem Josua geboten hatte. Und das Volk eilte und ging hinüber.(D) Jos 4:10 εἱστήκεισαν δὲ οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἕως οὗ συνετέλεσεν Ἰησοῦς πάντα ἃ ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἀναγγεῖλαι τῷ λαῷ καὶ ἔσπευσεν ὁ λαὸς καὶ διέβησαν(lxx) Jos 4:10 So the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the Lord had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people hurried and crossed over.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:11 ============ Jos 4:11 and when all the people had finished crossing, the ark of the Lord and the priests crossed before the people.(nasb) Jos 4:11 Cumque transissent omnes, transivit et arca Domini, sacerdotesque pergebant ante populum.(vulgate) Josué 4:11 Y sucedió que cuando todo el pueblo acabó de pasar, también pasó el arca de Jehová, y los sacerdotes, en presencia del pueblo.(E) Josué 4:11 Lorsque tout le peuple eut achevé de passer, l'arche de l'Eternel et les sacrificateurs passèrent devant le peuple.(F) Jos 4:11 Da nun das Volk ganz hinübergegangen war, da ging die Lade des HERRN auch hinüber und die Priester vor dem Volk her.(D) Jos 4:11 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς συνετέλεσεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς διαβῆναι καὶ διέβη ἡ κιβωτὸς τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ οἱ λίθοι ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν(lxx) Jos 4:11 Then it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over, that the ark of the Lord and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:12 ============ Jos 4:12 The sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over in battle array before the sons of Israel, just as Moses had spoken to them;(nasb) Jos 4:12 Filii quoque Ruben, et Gad, et dimidia tribus Manasse, armati præcedebant filios Israël, sicut eis præceperat Moyses:(vulgate) Josué 4:12 También los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, pasaron armados delante de los hijos de Israel, según Moisés les había dicho:(E) Josué 4:12 Les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad, et la demi-tribu de Manassé, passèrent en armes devant les enfants d'Israël, comme Moïse le leur avait dit.(F) Jos 4:12 Und die Rubeniter und Gaditer und der halbe Stamm Manasse gingen gerüstet vor den Kindern Israel her, wie Mose zu ihnen geredet hatte.(D) Jos 4:12 καὶ διέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ οἱ ἡμίσεις φυλῆς Μανασση διεσκευασμένοι ἔμπροσθεν τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καθάπερ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς Μωυσῆς(lxx) Jos 4:12 And the men of Reuben, the men of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh crossed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses had spoken to them.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:13 ============ Jos 4:13 about 40,000 equipped for war, crossed for battle before the Lord to the desert plains of Jericho.(nasb) Jos 4:13 et quadraginta pugnatorum millia per turmas, et cuneos, incedebant per plana atque campestria urbis Jericho.(vulgate) Josué 4:13 Como cuarenta mil hombres armados a punto pasaron hacia la llanura de Jericó delante de Jehová a la guerra.(E) Josué 4:13 Environ quarante mille hommes, équipés pour la guerre et prêts à combattre, passèrent devant l'Eternel dans les plaines de Jéricho.(F) Jos 4:13 Bei vierzigtausend Gerüstete zum Heer gingen vor dem HERRN zum Streit auf das Gefilde Jerichos.(D) Jos 4:13 τετρακισμύριοι εὔζωνοι εἰς μάχην διέβησαν ἐναντίον κυρίου εἰς πόλεμον πρὸς τὴν Ιεριχω πόλιν(lxx) Jos 4:13 About forty thousand prepared for war crossed over before the Lord for battle, to the plains of Jericho.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 4:14 ============ Jos 4:14 On that day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; so that they revered him, just as they had revered Moses all the days of his life.(nasb) Jos 4:14 In die illo magnificavit Dominus Josue coram omni Israël, ut timerent eum, sicut timuerant Moysen, dum adviveret.(vulgate) Josué 4:14 En aquel día Jehová engrandeció a Josué en ojos de todo Israel; y le temieron, como habían temido a Moisés, todos los días de su vida.(E) Josué 4:14 En ce jour-là, l'Eternel éleva Josué aux yeux de tout Israël; et ils le craignirent, comme ils avaient craint Moïse, tous les jours de sa vie.(F) Jos 4:14 An dem Tage machte der HERR den Josua groß vor dem ganzen Israel; und sie fürchteten ihn, wie sie Mose fürchteten, sein Leben lang.(D) Jos 4:14 ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ηὔξησεν κύριος τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἐναντίον παντὸς τοῦ γένους Ισραηλ καὶ ἐφοβοῦντο αὐτὸν ὥσπερ Μωυσῆν ὅσον χρόνον ἔζη(lxx) Jos 4:14 On that day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel;
