Thus says the Lord: 'Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:2 ============ 2Ki 7:2 The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning answered the man of God and said, "Behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" Then he said, "Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it."(nasb) 2Ki 7:2 Respondens unus de ducibus, super cujus manum rex incumbebat, homini Dei, ait: Si Dominus fecerit etiam cataractas in cælo, numquid poterit esse quod loqueris? Qui ait: Videbis oculis tuis, et inde non comedes.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:2 Y un príncipe sobre cuya mano el rey se apoyaba, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: Mira, [si] Jehová hiciese ahora ventanas en el cielo, ¿sería esto así? Et Elisée dit: Tu le verras de tes yeux; mais tu n'en mangeras point.(F) 2Ki 7:2 Da antwortete der Ritter, auf dessen Hand sich der König lehnte, dem Mann Gottes und sprach: Und wenn der HERR Fenster am Himmel machte, wie könnte solches geschehen? Er sprach: Siehe da, mit deinen Augen wirst du es sehen, und nicht davon essen!(D) 2Ki 7:2 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ τριστάτης ἐφ᾽ ὃν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπανεπαύετο ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ τῷ Ελισαιε καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ ποιήσει κύριος καταρράκτας ἐν οὐρανῷ μὴ ἔσται τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο καὶ Ελισαιε εἶπεν ἰδοὺ σὺ ὄψῃ τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἐκεῖθεν οὐ φάγῃ(lxx) 2Ki 7:2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, "Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" And he said, "In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:3 ============ 2Ki 7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why do we sit here until we die?(nasb) 2Ki 7:3 Quatuor ergo viri erant leprosi juxta introitum portæ: qui dixerunt ad invicem: Quid hic esse volumus donec moriamur?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:3 Y había cuatro hombres leprosos a la entrada de la puerta, los cuales se dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Para qué nos estamos aquí hasta que muramos?(E) 2 Rois 7:3 Il y avait à l'entrée de la porte quatre lépreux, qui se dirent l'un à l'autre: Quoi! resterons-nous ici jusqu'à ce que nous mourions?(F) 2Ki 7:3 Und es waren vier aussätzige Männer an der Tür vor dem Tor; und einer sprach zum andern: Was wollen wir hier bleiben, bis wir sterben?(D) 2Ki 7:3 καὶ τέσσαρες ἄνδρες ἦσαν λεπροὶ παρὰ τὴν θύραν τῆς πόλεως καὶ εἶπεν ἀνὴρ πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ τί ἡμεῖς καθήμεθα ὧδε ἕως ἀποθάνωμεν(lxx) 2Ki 7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why are we sitting here until we die?(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:4 ============ 2Ki 7:4 If we say, 'We will enter the city,' then the famine is in the city and we will die there; and if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us go over to the camp of the Arameans. If they spare us, we will live; and if they kill us, we will but die."(nasb) 2Ki 7:4 sive ingredi voluerimus civitatem, fame moriemur: sive manserimus hic, moriendum nobis est: venite ergo, et transfugiamus ad castra Syriæ: si pepercerint nobis, vivemus: si autem occidere voluerint, nihilominus moriemur.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:4 Si tratáremos de entrar en la ciudad, por el hambre que hay en la ciudad moriremos en ella; y si nos quedamos aquí, también moriremos. Vamos pues ahora, y pasémonos al ejército de los sirios; si ellos nos dieren la vida, viviremos; y si nos dieren la muerte, moriremos.(E) 2 Rois 7:4 Si nous songeons à entrer dans la ville, la famine est dans la ville, et nous y mourrons; et si nous restons ici, nous mourrons également. Allons nous jeter dans le camp des Syriens; s'ils nous laissent vivre, nous vivrons et s'ils nous font mourir, nous mourrons.(F) 2Ki 7:4 Wenn wir gleich gedächten, in die Stadt zu kommen, so ist Teuerung in der Stadt, und wir müßten doch daselbst sterben; bleiben wir aber hier, so müssen wir auch sterben. So laßt uns nun hingehen und zu dem Heer der Syrer fallen. Lassen sie uns leben, so leben wir; töten sie uns, so sind wir tot.(D) 2Ki 7:4 ἐὰν εἴπωμεν εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ὁ λιμὸς ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ ἀποθανούμεθα ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐὰν καθίσωμεν ὧδε καὶ ἀποθανούμεθα καὶ νῦν δεῦτε καὶ ἐμπέσωμεν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Συρίας ἐὰν ζωογονήσωσιν ἡμᾶς καὶ ζησόμεθα καὶ ἐὰν θανατώσωσιν ἡμᾶς καὶ ἀποθανούμεθα(lxx) 2Ki 7:4 If we say, 'We will enter the city,' the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:5 ============ 2Ki 7:5 They arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Arameans; when they came to the outskirts of the camp of the Arameans, behold, there was no one there.(nasb) 2Ki 7:5 Surrexerunt ergo vesperi, ut venirent ad castra Syriæ. Cumque venissent ad principium castrorum Syriæ, nullum ibidem repererunt.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:5 Se levantaron, pues, al principio de la noche, para ir al campamento de los sirios; y cuando llegaron a la entrada del campamento de los sirios, no [había] allí hombre.(E) 2 Rois 7:5 Ils partirent donc au crépuscule, pour se rendre au camp des Syriens; et lorsqu'ils furent arrivés à l'entrée du camp des Syriens, voici, il n'y avait personne.(F) 2Ki 7:5 Und sie machten sich in der Frühe auf, daß sie zum Heer der Syrer kämen. Und da sie vorn an den Ort des Heeres kamen, siehe, da war niemand.(D) 2Ki 7:5 καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἐν τῷ σκότει εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Συρίας καὶ ἦλθον εἰς μέρος τῆς παρεμβολῆς Συρίας καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀνὴρ ἐκεῖ(lxx) 2Ki 7:5 And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:6 ============ 2Ki 7:6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, "Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us."(nasb) 2Ki 7:6 Siquidem Dominus sonitum audiri fecerat in castris Syriæ, curruum, et equorum, et exercitus plurimi: dixeruntque ad invicem: Ecce mercede conduxit adversum nos rex Israël reges Hethæorum et Ægyptiorum, et venerunt super nos.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:6 Porque el Señor había hecho que en el campamento de los sirios se oyese estruendo de carros, ruido de caballos y estrépito de grande ejército; y se dijeron unos a otros: He aquí el rey de Israel ha pagado contra nosotros a los reyes de los heteos, y a los reyes de los egipcios, para que vengan contra nosotros.(E) 2 Rois 7:6 Le Seigneur avait fait entendre dans le camp des Syriens un bruit de chars et un bruit de chevaux, le bruit d'une grande armée, et ils s'étaient dit l'un à l'autre: Voici, le roi d'Israël a pris à sa solde contre nous les rois des Héthiens et les rois des Egyptiens pour venir nous attaquer.(F) 2Ki 7:6 Denn der HERR hatte die Syrer lassen hören ein Geschrei von Rossen, Wagen und großer Heereskraft, daß sie untereinander sprachen: Siehe, der König Israels hat wider uns gedingt die Könige der Hethiter und die Könige der Ägypter, daß sie über uns kommen sollen.(D) 2Ki 7:6 καὶ κύριος ἀκουστὴν ἐποίησεν τὴν παρεμβολὴν Συρίας φωνὴν ἅρματος καὶ φωνὴν ἵππου καὶ φωνὴν δυνάμεως μεγάλης καὶ εἶπεν ἀνὴρ πρὸς τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ νῦν ἐμισθώσατο ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τοὺς βασιλέας τῶν Χετταίων καὶ τοὺς βασιλέας Αἰγύπτου τοῦ ἐλθεῖν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς(lxx) 2Ki 7:6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses--the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, "Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:7 ============ 2Ki 7:7 Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life.(nasb) 2Ki 7:7 Surrexerunt ergo, et fugerunt in tenebris, et dereliquerunt tentoria sua, et equos et asinos, in castris, fugeruntque animas tantum suas salvare cupientes.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:7 Y así se levantaron y huyeron al anochecer, dejando sus tiendas, sus caballos, sus asnos y el campamento [como] estaba; y huyeron para salvar sus vidas.(E) 2 Rois 7:7 Et ils se levèrent et prirent la fuite au crépuscule, abandonnant leurs tentes, leurs chevaux et leurs ânes, le camp tel qu'il était, et ils s'enfuirent pour sauver leur vie.(F) 2Ki 7:7 Und sie machten sich auf und flohen in der Frühe und ließen ihre Hütten, Rosse und Esel im Lager, wie es stand, und flohen mit ihrem Leben davon.(D) 2Ki 7:7 καὶ ἀνέστησαν καὶ ἀπέδρασαν ἐν τῷ σκότει καὶ ἐγκατέλιπαν τὰς σκηνὰς αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς ἵππους αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς ὄνους αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ ὡς ἔστιν καὶ ἔφυγον πρὸς τὴν ψυχὴν ἑαυτῶν(lxx) 2Ki 7:7 Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact--their tents, their horses, and their donkeys--and they fled for their lives.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:8 ============ 2Ki 7:8 When these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they entered one tent and ate and drank, and carried from there silver and gold and clothes, and went and hid them; and they returned and entered another tent and carried from there also, and went and hid them.(nasb) 2Ki 7:8 Igitur cum venissent leprosi illi ad principium castrorum, ingressi sunt unum tabernaculum, et comederunt et biberunt: tuleruntque inde argentum, et aurum, et vestes, et abierunt, et absconderunt: et rursum reversi sunt ad aliud tabernaculum, et inde similiter auferentes absconderunt.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:8 Y cuando los leprosos llegaron a la entrada del campamento, entraron en una tienda y comieron y bebieron, y tomaron de allí plata y oro y vestiduras, y fueron y [lo] escondieron; y volvieron y entraron en otra tienda, y de allí [también] tomaron, y fueron y [lo] escondieron.(E) 2 Rois 7:8 Les lépreux, étant arrivés à l'entrée du camp, pénétrèrent dans une tente, mangèrent et burent, et en emportèrent de l'argent, de l'or, et des vêtements, qu'ils allèrent cacher. Ils revinrent, pénétrèrent dans une autre tente, et en emportèrent des objets qu'ils allèrent cacher.(F) 2Ki 7:8 Als nun die Aussätzigen an den Ort kamen, gingen sie in der Hütten eine, aßen und tranken und nahmen Silber, Gold und Kleider und gingen hin und verbargen es und kamen wieder und gingen in eine andere Hütte und nahmen daraus und gingen hin und verbargen es.(D) 2Ki 7:8 καὶ εἰσῆλθον οἱ λεπροὶ οὗτοι ἕως μέρους τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς σκηνὴν μίαν καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον καὶ ἦραν ἐκεῖθεν ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ἱματισμὸν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς σκηνὴν ἄλλην καὶ ἔλαβον ἐκεῖθεν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ κατέκρυψαν(lxx) 2Ki 7:8 And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:9 ============ 2Ki 7:9 Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king's household."(nasb) 2Ki 7:9 Dixeruntque ad invicem: Non recte facimus: hæc enim dies boni nuntii est. Si tacuerimus et noluerimus nuntiare usque mane, sceleris arguemur: venite, eamus, et nuntiemus in aula regis.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:9 Y se dijeron el uno al otro: No hacemos bien; hoy [es] día de buenas nuevas, y nosotros callamos; y si esperamos hasta la luz de la mañana, nos alcanzará la maldad. Vamos pues, ahora, entremos y demos las nuevas en casa del rey.(E) 2 Rois 7:9 Puis ils se dirent l'un à l'autre: Nous n'agissons pas bien! Cette journée est une journée de bonne nouvelle; si nous gardons le silence et si nous attendons jusqu'à la lumière du matin, le châtiment nous atteindra. Venez maintenant, et allons informer la maison du roi.(F) 2Ki 7:9 Aber einer sprach zum andern: Laßt uns nicht also tun; dieser Tag ist ein Tag guter Botschaft. Wo wir das verschweigen und harren, bis daß es lichter Morgen wird, wird unsre Missetat gefunden werden; so laßt uns nun hingehen, daß wir kommen und es ansagen dem Hause des Königs.(D) 2Ki 7:9 καὶ εἶπεν ἀνὴρ πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ οὐχ οὕτως ἡμεῖς ποιοῦμεν ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη ἡμέρα εὐαγγελίας ἐστίν καὶ ἡμεῖς σιωπῶμεν καὶ μένομεν ἕως φωτὸς τοῦ πρωὶ καὶ εὑρήσομεν ἀνομίαν καὶ νῦν δεῦρο καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν καὶ ἀναγγείλωμεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως(lxx) 2Ki 7:9 Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king's household."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:10 ============ 2Ki 7:10 So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and they told them, saying, "We came to the camp of the Arameans, and behold, there was no one there, nor the voice of man, only the horses tied and the donkeys tied, and the tents just as they were."(nasb) 2Ki 7:10 Cumque venissent ad portam civitatis, narraverunt eis, dicentes: Ivimus ad castra Syriæ, et nullum ibidem reperimus hominem, nisi equos et asinos alligatos, et fixa tentoria.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:10 Y vinieron, y dieron voces a los guardas de la puerta de la ciudad, y les declararon, diciendo: Nosotros fuimos al campamento de los sirios, y he aquí que no [había] allí hombre, ni voz de hombre, sino caballos atados, asnos también atados, y las tiendas como [estaban].(E) 2 Rois 7:10 Ils partirent, et ils appelèrent les gardes de la porte de la ville, auxquels ils firent ce rapport: Nous sommes entrés dans le camp des Syriens, et voici, il n'y a personne, on n'y entend aucune voix d'homme; il n'y a que des chevaux attachés et des ânes attachés, et les tentes comme elles étaient.(F) 2Ki 7:10 Und da sie kamen, riefen sie am Tor der Stadt und sagten es ihnen an und sprachen: Wir sind zum Lager der Syrer gekommen, und siehe, es ist niemand da und keine Menschenstimme, sondern Rosse und Esel angebunden und die Hütten, wie sie stehen.(D) 2Ki 7:10 καὶ εἰσῆλθον καὶ ἐβόησαν πρὸς τὴν πύλην τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτοῖς λέγοντες εἰσήλθομεν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Συρίας καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκεῖ ἀνὴρ καὶ φωνὴ ἀνθρώπου ὅτι εἰ μὴ ἵππος δεδεμένος καὶ ὄνος καὶ αἱ σκηναὶ αὐτῶν ὡς εἰσίν(lxx) 2Ki 7:10 So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying, "We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a human sound--only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:11 ============ 2Ki 7:11 The gatekeepers called and told it within the king's household.(nasb) 2Ki 7:11 Ierunt ergo portarii, et nuntiaverunt in palatio regis intrinsecus.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:11 Y los porteros dieron voces, y [lo] declararon dentro, en el palacio del rey.(E) 2 Rois 7:11 Les gardes de la porte crièrent, et ils transmirent ce rapport à l'intérieur de la maison du roi.(F) 2Ki 7:11 Da rief man den Torhütern zu, daß sie es drinnen ansagten im Hause des Königs.(D) 2Ki 7:11 καὶ ἐβόησαν οἱ θυρωροὶ καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως ἔσω(lxx) 2Ki 7:11 And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it to the king's household inside.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:12 ============ 2Ki 7:12 Then the king arose in the night and said to his servants, "I will now tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone from the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, 'When they come out of the city, we will capture them alive and get into the city.'"(nasb) 2Ki 7:12 Qui surrexit nocte, et ait ad servos suos: Dico vobis quid fecerint nobis Syri: sciunt quia fame laboramus, et idcirco egressi sunt de castris, et latitant in agris, dicentes: Cum egressi fuerint de civitate, capiemus eos vivos, et tunc civitatem ingredi poterimus.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:12 Y el rey se levantó de noche, y dijo a sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los sirios. Ellos saben que [tenemos] hambre, y han salido de las tiendas y se han escondido en el campo, diciendo: Cuando salgan de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos y entraremos en la ciudad.(E) 2 Rois 7:12 Le roi se leva de nuit, et il dit à ses serviteurs: Je veux vous communiquer ce que nous font les Syriens. Comme ils savent que nous sommes affamés, ils ont quitté le camp pour se cacher dans les champs, et ils se sont dit: Quand ils sortiront de la ville, nous les saisirons vivants, et nous entrerons dans la ville.(F) 2Ki 7:12 Und der König stand auf in der Nacht und sprach zu seinen Knechten: Laßt euch sagen, wie die Syrer mit uns umgehen. Sie wissen, daß wir Hunger leiden, und sind aus dem Lager gegangen, daß sie sich im Felde verkröchen, und denken: Wenn sie aus der Stadt gehen, wollen wir sie lebendig greifen und in die Stadt kommen.(D) 2Ki 7:12 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ βασιλεὺς νυκτὸς καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ ἀναγγελῶ δὴ ὑμῖν ἃ ἐποίησεν ἡμῖν Συρία ἔγνωσαν ὅτι πεινῶμεν ἡμεῖς καὶ ἐξῆλθαν ἐκ τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ ἐκρύβησαν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ λέγοντες ὅτι ἐξελεύσονται ἐκ τῆς πόλεως καὶ συλλημψόμεθα αὐτοὺς ζῶντας καὶ εἰς τὴν πόλιν εἰσελευσόμεθα(lxx) 2Ki 7:12 So the king arose in the night and said to his servants, "Let me now tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, 'When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 7:13 ============ 2Ki 7:13 One of his servants said, "Please, let some men take five of the horses which remain, which are left in the city. Then a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.(nasb) 2Ki 7:16 Et egressus populus diripuit castra Syriæ: factusque est modius similæ statere uno, et duo modii hordei statere uno, juxta verbum Domini.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 7:16 Entonces el pueblo salió, y saquearon el campamento de los sirios.
