Today's Date: ======= Esther 6:1 ============ Est 6:1 During that night the king could not sleep so he gave an order to bring the book of records, the chronicles, and they were read before the king.(nasb) Est 6:1 Noctem illam duxit rex insomnem, jussitque sibi afferri historias et annales priorum temporum. Quæ cum illo præsente legerentur,(vulgate) Esther 6:1 Aquella noche se le fue el sueño al rey, y dijo que le trajesen el libro de las memorias y las crónicas; y las leyeron delante del rey.(E) Esther 6:1 Cette nuit-là, le roi ne put pas dormir, et il se fit apporter le livre des annales, les Chroniques. On les lut devant le roi,(F) Est 6:1 In derselben Nacht konnte der König nicht schlafen und hieß die Chronik mit den Historien bringen. Da die wurden vor dem König gelesen,(D) Est 6:1 ὁ δὲ κύριος ἀπέστησεν τὸν ὕπνον ἀπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως τὴν νύκτα ἐκείνην καὶ εἶπεν τῷ διδασκάλῳ αὐτοῦ εἰσφέρειν γράμματα μνημόσυνα τῶν ἡμερῶν ἀναγινώσκειν αὐτῷ(lxx) Est 6:1 That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:2 ============ Est 6:2 It was found written what Mordecai had reported concerning Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs who were doorkeepers, that they had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.(nasb) Est 6:2 ventum est ad illum locum ubi scriptum erat quomodo nuntiasset Mardochæus insidias Bagathan et Thares eunuchorum, regem Assuerum jugulare cupientium.(vulgate) Esther 6:2 Y se halló escrito que Mardoqueo había denunciado el complot de Bigtán y Teres, dos eunucos del rey, de la guardia de la puerta, que habían procurado poner mano en el rey Asuero.(E) Esther 6:2 et l'on trouva écrit ce que Mardochée avait révélé au sujet de Bigthan et de Théresch, les deux eunuques du roi, gardes du seuil, qui avaient voulu porter la main sur le roi Assuérus.(F) Est 6:2 fand sich's geschrieben, wie Mardochai hatte angesagt, daß die zwei Kämmerer des Königs, Bigthan und Theres, die an der Schwelle hüteten, getrachtet hätten, die Hand an den König Ahasveros zu legen.(D) Est 6:2 εὗρεν δὲ τὰ γράμματα τὰ γραφέντα περὶ Μαρδοχαίου ὡς ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ βασιλεῖ περὶ τῶν δύο εὐνούχων τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν τῷ φυλάσσειν αὐτοὺς καὶ ζητῆσαι ἐπιβαλεῖν τὰς χεῖρας Ἀρταξέρξῃ(lxx) Est 6:2 And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:3 ============ Est 6:3 The king said, "What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?" Then the king's servants who attended him said, "Nothing has been done for him."(nasb) Est 6:3 Quod cum audisset rex, ait: Quid pro hac fide honoris ac præmii Mardochæus consecutus est? Dixerunt ei servi illius ac ministri: Nihil omnino mercedis accepit.(vulgate) Esther 6:3 Y dijo el rey: ¿Qué honra o qué distinción se hizo a Mardoqueo por esto? Y los siervos que ministraban al rey, respondieron: Nada se ha hecho por él.(E) Esther 6:3 Le roi dit: Quelle marque de distinction et d'honneur Mardochée a-t-il reçue pour cela? Il n'a rien reçu, répondirent ceux qui servaient le roi.(F) Est 6:3 Und der König sprach: Was haben wir Mardochai Ehre und Gutes dafür getan? Da sprachen die Diener des Königs, die ihm dienten: Es ist ihm nichts geschehen.(D) Est 6:3 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς τίνα δόξαν ἢ χάριν ἐποιήσαμεν τῷ Μαρδοχαίῳ καὶ εἶπαν οἱ διάκονοι τοῦ βασιλέως οὐκ ἐποίησας αὐτῷ οὐδέν(lxx) Est 6:3 Then the king said, "What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?" And the king's servants who attended him said, "Nothing has been done for him."(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:4 ============ Est 6:4 So the king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king's palace in order to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows which he had prepared for him.(nasb) Est 6:4 Statimque rex: Quis est, inquit, in atrio? Aman quippe interius atrium domus regiæ intraverat, ut suggereret regi, et juberet Mardochæum affigi patibulo, quod ei fuerat præparatum.(vulgate) Esther 6:4 Entonces dijo el rey: ¿Quién [está] en el patio? Y Amán había venido al patio de afuera de la casa del rey, para decir al rey que hiciese colgar a Mardoqueo en la horca que él le tenía preparada.(E) Esther 6:4 Alors le roi dit: Qui est dans la cour? -Haman était venu dans la cour extérieure de la maison du roi, pour demander au roi de faire pendre Mardochée au bois qu'il avait préparé pour lui. -(F) Est 6:4 Und der König sprach: Wer ist im Hofe? Haman aber war in den Hof gegangen, draußen vor des Königs Hause, daß er dem König sagte, Mardochai zu hängen an den Baum, den er zubereitet hatte.(D) Est 6:4 ἐν δὲ τῷ πυνθάνεσθαι τὸν βασιλέα περὶ τῆς εὐνοίας Μαρδοχαίου ἰδοὺ Αμαν ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς τίς ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ ὁ δὲ Αμαν εἰσῆλθεν εἰπεῖν τῷ βασιλεῖ κρεμάσαι τὸν Μαρδοχαῖον ἐπὶ τῷ ξύλῳ ᾧ ἡτοίμασεν(lxx) Est 6:4 So the king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king's palace to suggest that the king hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:5 ============ Est 6:5 The king's servants said to him, "Behold, Haman is standing in the court." And the king said, "Let him come in."(nasb) Est 6:5 Responderunt pueri: Aman stat in atrio. Dixitque rex: Ingrediatur.(vulgate) Esther 6:5 Y los servidores del rey le respondieron: He aquí Amán está en el patio. Y el rey dijo: Que entre.(E) Esther 6:5 Les serviteurs du roi lui répondirent: C'est Haman qui se tient dans la cour. Et le roi dit: Qu'il entre.(F) Est 6:5 Und des Königs Diener sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, Haman steht im Hofe. Der König sprach: Laßt ihn hereingehen!(D) Est 6:5 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ διάκονοι τοῦ βασιλέως ἰδοὺ Αμαν ἕστηκεν ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς καλέσατε αὐτόν(lxx) Est 6:5 The king's servants said to him, "Haman is there, standing in the court." And the king said, "Let him come in."(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:6 ============ Est 6:6 So Haman came in and the king said to him, "What is to be done for the man whom the king desires to honor?" And Haman said to himself, "Whom would the king desire to honor more than me?"(nasb) Est 6:6 Cumque esset ingressus, ait illi: Quid debet fieri viro, quem rex honorare desiderat? Cogitans autem in corde suo Aman, et reputans quod nullum alium rex, nisi se, vellet honorare,(vulgate) Esther 6:6 Entró, pues, Amán, y el rey le dijo: ¿Qué se hará al hombre cuya honra desea el rey? Y dijo Amán en su corazón: ¿A quién deseará el rey hacer honra más que a mí?(E) Esther 6:6 Haman entra, et le roi lui dit: Que faut-il faire pour un homme que le roi veut honorer? Haman se dit en lui-même: Quel autre que moi le roi voudrait-il honorer?(F) Est 6:6 Und da Haman hineinkam, sprach der König zu ihm: Was soll man dem Mann tun, den der König gerne wollte ehren? Haman aber gedachte in seinem Herzen: Wem sollte der König anders gern wollen Ehre tun denn mir?(D) Est 6:6 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Αμαν τί ποιήσω τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ὃν ἐγὼ θέλω δοξάσαι εἶπεν δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῷ Αμαν τίνα θέλει ὁ βασιλεὺς δοξάσαι εἰ μὴ ἐμέ(lxx) Est 6:6 So Haman came in, and the king asked him, "What shall be done for the man whom the king delights to honor?" Now Haman thought in his heart, "Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?"(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:7 ============ Est 6:7 Then Haman said to the king, "For the man whom the king desires to honor,(nasb) Est 6:7 respondit: Homo, quem rex honorare cupit,(vulgate) Esther 6:7 Y respondió Amán al rey: Para el varón cuya honra desea el rey,(E) Esther 6:7 Et Haman répondit au roi: Pour un homme que le roi veut honorer,(F) Est 6:7 Und Haman sprach zum König: Dem Mann, den der König gerne wollte ehren,(D) Est 6:7 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἄνθρωπον ὃν ὁ βασιλεὺς θέλει δοξάσαι(lxx) Est 6:7 And Haman answered the king, "For the man whom the king delights to honor,(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:8 ============ Est 6:8 let them bring a royal robe which the king has worn, and the horse on which the king has ridden, and on whose head a royal crown has been placed;(nasb) Est 6:8 debet indui vestibus regiis, et imponi super equum, qui de sella regis est, et accipere regium diadema super caput suum:(vulgate) Esther 6:8 traigan la vestidura real de que el rey se viste, y el caballo en que el rey cabalga, y la corona real que está puesta sobre su cabeza;(E) Esther 6:8 il faut prendre le vêtement royal dont le roi se couvre et le cheval que le roi monte et sur la tête duquel se pose une couronne royale,(F) Est 6:8 soll man königliche Kleider bringen, die der König pflegt zu tragen, und ein Roß, darauf der König reitet, und soll eine königliche Krone auf sein Haupt setzen;(D) Est 6:8 ἐνεγκάτωσαν οἱ παῖδες τοῦ βασιλέως στολὴν βυσσίνην ἣν ὁ βασιλεὺς περιβάλλεται καὶ ἵππον ἐφ᾽ ὃν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπιβαίνει(lxx) Est 6:8 let a royal robe be brought which the king has worn, and a horse on which the king has ridden, which has a royal crest placed on its head.(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:9 ============ Est 6:9 and let the robe and the horse be handed over to one of the king's most noble princes and let them array the man whom the king desires to honor and lead him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him, 'Thus it shall be done to the man whom the king desires to honor.'"(nasb) Est 6:9 et primus de regiis principibus ac tyrannis teneat equum ejus, et per plateam civitatis incedens clamet, et dicat: Sic honorabitur, quemcumque voluerit rex honorare.(vulgate) Esther 6:9 y den la vestidura y el caballo en mano de alguno de los príncipes más nobles del rey, y vistan a aquel varón cuya honra desea el rey, y llévenlo en el caballo por la plaza de la ciudad, y pregonen delante de él: Así se hará al varón cuya honra desea el rey.(E) Esther 6:9 remettre le vêtement et le cheval à l'un des principaux chefs du roi, puis revêtir l'homme que le roi veut honorer, le promener à cheval à travers la place de la ville, et crier devant lui: C'est ainsi que l'on fait à l'homme que le roi veut honorer!(F) Est 6:9 und man soll solch Kleid und Roß geben in die Hand eines Fürsten des Königs, daß derselbe den Mann anziehe, den der König gern ehren wollte, und führe ihn auf dem Roß in der Stadt Gassen und lasse rufen vor ihm her: So wird man tun dem Mann, den der König gerne ehren will.(D) Est 6:9 καὶ δότω ἑνὶ τῶν φίλων τοῦ βασιλέως τῶν ἐνδόξων καὶ στολισάτω τὸν ἄνθρωπον ὃν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἀγαπᾷ καὶ ἀναβιβασάτω αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν ἵππον καὶ κηρυσσέτω διὰ τῆς πλατείας τῆς πόλεως λέγων οὕτως ἔσται παντὶ ἀνθρώπῳ ὃν ὁ βασιλεὺς δοξάζει(lxx) Est 6:9 Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him: 'Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!' "(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:10 ============ Est 6:10 Then the king said to Haman, "Take quickly the robes and the horse as you have said, and do so for Mordecai the Jew, who is sitting at the king's gate; do not fall short in anything of all that you have said."(nasb) Est 6:10 Dixitque ei rex: Festina, et sumpta stola et equo, fac, ut locutus es, Mardochæo Judæo, qui sedet ante fores palatii. Cave ne quidquam de his, quæ locutus es, prætermittas.(vulgate) Esther 6:10 Entonces el rey dijo a Amán: Date prisa, toma la vestidura y el caballo, como tú has dicho, y hazlo así con el judío Mardoqueo, que se sienta a la puerta del rey; no omitas nada de todo lo que has dicho.(E) Esther 6:10 Le roi dit à Haman: Prends tout de suite le vêtement et le cheval, comme tu l'as dit, et fais ainsi pour Mardochée, le Juif, qui est assis à la porte du roi; ne néglige rien de tout ce que tu as mentionné.(F) Est 6:10 Der König sprach zu Haman: Eile und nimm das Kleid und Roß, wie du gesagt hast, und tu also mit Mardochai, dem Juden, der vor dem Tor des Königs sitzt; und laß nichts fehlen an allem, was du geredet hast!(D) Est 6:10 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Αμαν καθὼς ἐλάλησας οὕτως ποίησον τῷ Μαρδοχαίῳ τῷ Ιουδαίῳ τῷ θεραπεύοντι ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ καὶ μὴ παραπεσάτω σου λόγος ὧν ἐλάλησας(lxx) Est 6:10 Then the king said to Haman, "Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested, and do so for Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king's gate! But Haman hurried home, mourning, with his head covered.(nasb) Est 6:12 Reversusque est Mardochæus ad januam palatii: et Aman festinavit ire in domum suam, lugens et operto capite:(vulgate) Esther 6:12 Después de esto Mardoqueo se volvió a la puerta del rey, y Amán se fue corriendo a su casa, apesadumbrado y cubierta su cabeza.(E) Esther 6:12 Mardochée retourna à la porte du roi, et Haman se rendit en hâte chez lui, désolé et la tête voilée.(F) Est 6:12 Und Mardochai kam wieder an das Tor des Königs. Haman aber eilte nach Hause, trug Leid mit verhülltem Kopf(D) Est 6:12 ἐπέστρεψεν δὲ ὁ Μαρδοχαῖος εἰς τὴν αὐλήν Αμαν δὲ ὑπέστρεψεν εἰς τὰ ἴδια λυπούμενος κατὰ κεφαλῆς(lxx) Est 6:12 Afterward Mordecai went back to the king's gate. But Haman hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered.(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:13 ============ Est 6:13 Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, "If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish origin, you will not overcome him, but will surely fall before him."(nasb) Est 6:13 narravitque Zares uxori suæ, et amicis, omnia quæ evenissent sibi. Cui responderunt sapientes quos habebat in consilio, et uxor ejus: Si de semine Judæorum est Mardochæus, ante quem cadere cœpisti, non poteris ei resistere, sed cades in conspectu ejus.(vulgate) Esther 6:13 Contó luego Amán a Zeres su esposa, y a todos sus amigos, todo lo que le había acontecido; y le dijeron sus sabios, y Zeres su esposa: Si Mardoqueo, delante de quien has comenzado a caer, [es] de la simiente de los judíos, no lo vencerás; antes caerás por cierto delante de él.(E) Esther 6:13 Haman raconta à Zéresch, sa femme, et à tous ses amis, tout ce qui lui était arrivé. Et ses sages, et Zéresch, sa femme, lui dirent: Si Mardochée, devant lequel tu as commencé de tomber, est de la race des Juifs, tu ne pourras rien contre lui, mais tu tomberas devant lui.(F) Est 6:13 und erzählte seinem Weibe Seres und seinen Freunden allen alles, was ihm begegnet war. Da sprachen zu ihm seine Weisen und sein Weib Seres: Ist Mardochai vom Geschlecht der Juden, vor dem du zu fallen angehoben hast, so vermagst du nichts an ihm, sondern du wirst vor ihm fallen.(D) Est 6:13 καὶ διηγήσατο Αμαν τὰ συμβεβηκότα αὐτῷ Ζωσαρα τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς φίλοις καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ φίλοι καὶ ἡ γυνή εἰ ἐκ γένους Ιουδαίων Μαρδοχαῖος ἦρξαι ταπεινοῦσθαι ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πεσὼν πεσῇ οὐ μὴ δύνῃ αὐτὸν ἀμύνασθαι ὅτι θεὸς ζῶν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Est 6:13 When Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him, his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, "If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him."(nkjv) ======= Esther 6:14 ============ Est 6:14 While they were still talking with him, the king's eunuchs arrived and hastily brought Haman to the banquet which Esther had prepared.(nasb) Est 6:14 Adhuc illis loquentibus, venerunt eunuchi regis, et cito eum ad convivium, quod regina paraverat, pergere compulerunt.(vulgate) Esther 6:14 Aún estaban ellos hablando con él, cuando los eunucos del rey llegaron apresurados, para hacer venir a Amán al banquete que Esther había preparado.(E) Esther 6:14 Comme ils lui parlaient encore, les eunuques du roi arrivèrent et conduisirent aussitôt Haman au festin qu'Esther avait préparé.(F) Est 6:14 Da sie aber noch mit ihm redeten, kamen herbei des Königs Kämmerer und trieben Haman, zum Mahl zu kommen, das Est r zugerichtet hatte.(D) Est 6:14 ἔτι αὐτῶν λαλούντων παραγίνονται οἱ εὐνοῦχοι ἐπισπεύδοντες τὸν Αμαν ἐπὶ τὸν πότον ὃν ἡτοίμασεν Εσθηρ(lxx) Est 6:14 While they were still talking with him, the king's eunuchs came, and hastened to bring Haman to the banquet which Esther had prepared.(nkjv) ======= Esther 7:1 ============ top of the page
