I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:2 ============ Psa 40:2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.(nasb) Psa 40:2 [vulgate 39:3] et audivit clamorem meum et eduxit me de lacu famoso de luto caeni et statuit super petram pedes meos stabilivit gressus meos(vulgate) Salmos 40:2 Y me sacó del pozo de la desesperación, del lodo cenagoso; puso mis pies sobre peña, y enderezó mis pasos.(E) Psaume 40:2 Il m'a retiré de la fosse de destruction, Du fond de la boue; Et il a dressé mes pieds sur le roc, Il a affermi mes pas.(F) Psa 40:2 und zog mich aus der grausamen Grube und aus dem Schlamm und stellte meine Füße auf einen Fels, daß ich gewiß treten kann;(D) Psa 40:2 ὑπομένων ὑπέμεινα τὸν κύριον καὶ προσέσχεν μοι καὶ εἰσήκουσεν τῆς δεήσεώς μου(lxx) Psa 40:2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:3 ============ Psa 40:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord.(nasb) Psa 40:3 [vulgate 39:4] et dedit in ore meo canticum novum laudem Deo nostro videbunt multi et timebunt et sperabunt in Domino(vulgate) Salmos 40:3 Puso luego en mi boca cántico nuevo, alabanza a nuestro Dios. Verán esto muchos, y temerán, y confiarán en Jehová.(E) Psaume 40:3 Il a mis dans ma bouche un cantique nouveau, Une louange à notre Dieu; Beaucoup l'ont vu, et ont eu de la crainte, Et ils se sont confiés en l'Eternel.(F) Psa 40:3 und hat mir ein neues Lied in meinen Mund gegeben, zu loben unsern Gott. Das werden viele sehen und den HERRN fürchten und auf ihn hoffen.(D) Psa 40:3 καὶ ἀνήγαγέν με ἐκ λάκκου ταλαιπωρίας καὶ ἀπὸ πηλοῦ ἰλύος καὶ ἔστησεν ἐπὶ πέτραν τοὺς πόδας μου καὶ κατηύθυνεν τὰ διαβήματά μου(lxx) Psa 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:4 ============ Psa 40:4 How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.(nasb) Psa 40:4 [vulgate 39:5] beatus vir qui posuit Dominum confidentiam suam et non est aversus ad superbias pompasque mendacii(vulgate) Salmos 40:4 Bienaventurado el hombre que pone en Jehová su confianza, y no mira a los soberbios, ni a los que se desvían a la mentira.(E) Psaume 40:4 Heureux l'homme qui place en l'Eternel sa confiance, Et qui ne se tourne pas vers les hautains et les menteurs!(F) Psa 40:4 Wohl dem, der seine Hoffnung setzt auf den HERRN und sich nicht wendet zu den Hoffärtigen und zu denen, die mit Lügen umgehen!(D) Psa 40:4 καὶ ἐνέβαλεν εἰς τὸ στόμα μου ᾆσμα καινόν ὕμνον τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν ὄψονται πολλοὶ καὶ φοβηθήσονται καὶ ἐλπιοῦσιν ἐπὶ κύριον(lxx) Psa 40:4 Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:5 ============ Psa 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.(nasb) Psa 40:5 [vulgate 39:6] multa fecisti tu Domine Deus meus mirabilia tua et cogitationes tuas pro nobis non invenio ordinem coram te si narrare voluero et numerare plura sunt quam ut narrari queant(vulgate) Salmos 40:5 Has aumentado, oh Jehová Dios mío, tus maravillas; y tus pensamientos para con nosotros, no te los podremos contar; si yo anunciare y hablare de ellos, no pueden ser enumerados.(E) Psaume 40:5 Tu as multiplié, Eternel, mon Dieu! Tes merveilles et tes desseins en notre faveur; Nul n'est comparable à toi; Je voudrais les publier et les proclamer, Mais leur nombre est trop grand pour que je les raconte.(F) Psa 40:5 HERR, mein Gott, groß sind deine Wunder und deine Gedanken, die du an uns beweisest. Dir ist nichts gleich. Ich will sie verkündigen und davon sagen; aber sie sind nicht zu zählen.(D) Psa 40:5 μακάριος ἀνήρ οὗ ἐστιν τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου ἐλπὶς αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐνέβλεψεν εἰς ματαιότητας καὶ μανίας ψευδεῖς(lxx) Psa 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:6 ============ Psa 40:6 Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.(nasb) Psa 40:6 [vulgate 39:7] victima et oblatione non indiges aures fodisti mihi holocaustum et pro peccato non petisti(vulgate) Salmos 40:6 Sacrificio y ofrenda no te agradan; has abierto mis oídos; holocausto y expiación no has demandado.(E) Psaume 40:6 Tu ne désires ni sacrifice ni offrande, Tu m'as ouvert les oreilles; Tu ne demandes ni holocauste ni victime expiatoire.(F) Psa 40:6 Opfer und Speisopfer gefallen dir nicht; aber die Ohren hast du mir aufgetan. Du willst weder Brandopfer noch Sündopfer.(D) Psa 40:6 πολλὰ ἐποίησας σύ κύριε ὁ θεός μου τὰ θαυμάσιά σου καὶ τοῖς διαλογισμοῖς σου οὐκ ἔστιν τίς ὁμοιωθήσεταί σοι ἀπήγγειλα καὶ ἐλάλησα ἐπληθύνθησαν ὑπὲρ ἀριθμόν(lxx) Psa 40:6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:7 ============ Psa 40:7 Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.(nasb) Psa 40:7 [vulgate 39:8] tunc dixi ecce venio in volumine libri scriptum est de me(vulgate) Salmos 40:7 Entonces dije: He aquí, vengo; en el rollo del libro [está] escrito de mí:(E) Psaume 40:7 Alors je dis: Voici, je viens Avec le rouleau du livre écrit pour moi.(F) Psa 40:7 Da ich sprach: Siehe, ich komme; im Buch ist von mir geschrieben.(D) Psa 40:7 θυσίαν καὶ προσφορὰν οὐκ ἠθέλησας ὠτία δὲ κατηρτίσω μοι ὁλοκαύτωμα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας οὐκ ᾔτησας(lxx) Psa 40:7 Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:8 ============ Psa 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart."(nasb) Psa 40:8 [vulgate 39:9] ut facerem placitum tibi Deus meus volui et legem tuam in medio ventris mei(vulgate) Salmos 40:8 El hacer tu voluntad, Dios mío, me ha agradado; y tu ley está en medio de mi corazón.(E) Psaume 40:8 Je veux faire ta volonté, mon Dieu! Et ta loi est au fond de mon coeur.(F) Psa 40:8 Deinen Willen, mein Gott, tue ich gern, und dein Gesetz habe ich in meinem Herzen.(D) Psa 40:8 τότε εἶπον ἰδοὺ ἥκω ἐν κεφαλίδι βιβλίου γέγραπται περὶ ἐμοῦ(lxx) Psa 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:9 ============ Psa 40:9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, You know.(nasb) Psa 40:9 [vulgate 39:10] adnuntiavi iustum in ecclesia multa ecce labia mea non prohibebo Domine tu nosti(vulgate) Salmos 40:9 He predicado justicia en grande congregación; he aquí no he refrenado mis labios, Jehová, tú lo sabes.(E) Psaume 40:9 J'annonce la justice dans la grande assemblée; Voici, je ne ferme pas mes lèvres, Eternel, tu le sais!(F) Psa 40:9 Ich will predigen die Gerechtigkeit in der großen Gemeinde; siehe, ich will mir meinen Mund nicht stopfen lassen, HERR, das weißt du.(D) Psa 40:9 τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ θέλημά σου ὁ θεός μου ἐβουλήθην καὶ τὸν νόμον σου ἐν μέσῳ τῆς κοιλίας μου(lxx) Psa 40:9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O Lord, You Yourself know.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:10 ============ Psa 40:10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.(nasb) Psa 40:10 [vulgate 39:11] iustitiam tuam non abscondi in medio cordis mei fidem tuam et salutare tuum dixi non abscondi misericordiam tuam et veritatem tuam in ecclesia multa(vulgate) Salmos 40:10 No he encubierto tu justicia dentro de mi corazón: Tu fidelidad y tu salvación he proclamado: No he ocultado tu misericordia y tu verdad a la gran congregación.(E) Psaume 40:10 Je ne retiens pas dans mon coeur ta justice, Je publie ta vérité et ton salut; Je ne cache pas ta bonté et ta fidélité Dans la grande assemblée.(F) Psa 40:10 Deine Gerechtigkeit verberge ich nicht in meinem Herzen; von deiner Wahrheit und von deinem Heil rede ich; ich verhehle deine Güte und Treue nicht vor der großen Gemeinde.(D) Psa 40:10 εὐηγγελισάμην δικαιοσύνην ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ μεγάλῃ ἰδοὺ τὰ χείλη μου οὐ μὴ κωλύσω κύριε σὺ ἔγνως(lxx) Psa 40:10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:11 ============ Psa 40:11 You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.(nasb) Psa 40:11 [vulgate 39:12] tu Domine non prohibebis misericordias tuas a me misericordia tua et veritas iugiter servabunt me(vulgate) Salmos 40:11 Tú, oh Jehová, no retengas de mí tus misericordias; tu misericordia y tu verdad me guarden siempre.(E) Psaume 40:11 Toi, Eternel! tu ne me refuseras pas tes compassions; Ta bonté et ta fidélité me garderont toujours.(F) Psa 40:11 Du aber, HERR, wollest deine Barmherzigkeit von mir nicht wenden; laß deine Güte und Treue allewege mich behüten.(D) Psa 40:11 τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου οὐκ ἔκρυψα ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ μου τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου καὶ τὸ σωτήριόν σου εἶπα οὐκ ἔκρυψα τὸ ἔλεός σου καὶ τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου ἀπὸ συναγωγῆς πολλῆς(lxx) Psa 40:11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:12 ============ Psa 40:12 For evils beyond number have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me.(nasb) Psa 40:12 [vulgate 39:13] circumdederunt enim me mala quorum non est numerus conprehenderunt me iniquitates meae et non potui videre plures factae sunt quam capilli capitis mei et cor meum dereliquit me(vulgate) Salmos 40:12 Porque me han rodeado males sin número; me han alcanzado mis maldades, y no puedo levantar la vista; son más numerosas que los cabellos de mi cabeza, y mi corazón me falla.(E) Psaume 40:12 Car des maux sans nombre m'environnent; Les châtiments de mes iniquités m'atteignent, Et je ne puis en supporter la vue; Ils sont plus nombreux que les cheveux de ma tête, Et mon courage m'abandonne.(F) Psa 40:12 Denn es hat mich umgeben Leiden ohne Zahl; es haben mich meine Sünden ergriffen, daß ich nicht sehen kann; ihrer ist mehr denn der Haare auf meinem Haupt, und mein Herz hat mich verlassen.(D) Psa 40:12 σὺ δέ κύριε μὴ μακρύνης τοὺς οἰκτιρμούς σου ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὸ ἔλεός σου καὶ ἡ ἀλήθειά σου διὰ παντὸς ἀντελάβοντό μου(lxx) Psa 40:12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; Therefore my heart fails me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:13 ============ Psa 40:13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; Make haste, O Lord, to help me.(nasb) Psa 40:13 [vulgate 39:14] placeat tibi Domine ut liberes me Domine ad adiuvandum me festina(vulgate) Salmos 40:13 Quieras, oh Jehová, librarme; Jehová, apresúrate a socorrerme.(E) Psaume 40:13 Veuille me délivrer, ô Eternel! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, Ceux qui désirent ma perte!(F) Psa 40:14 Schämen müssen sich und zu Schanden werden, die mir nach meiner Seele stehen, daß sie die umbringen; zurück müssen sie fallen und zu Schanden werden, die mir Übles gönnen.(D) Psa 40:14 εὐδόκησον κύριε τοῦ ῥύσασθαί με κύριε εἰς τὸ βοηθῆσαί μοι πρόσχες(lxx) Psa 40:14 Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who seek to destroy my life; Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor Who wish me evil.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:15 ============ Psa 40:15 Let those be appalled because of their shame Who say to me, "Aha, aha!"(nasb) Psa 40:15 [vulgate 39:16] pereant post confusionem suam qui dicunt mihi va va(vulgate) Salmos 40:15 Sean asolados en pago de su afrenta los que me dicen: ¡Ajá, ajá!(E) Psaume 40:15 Qu'ils soient dans la stupeur par l'effet de leur honte, Ceux qui me disent: Ah! ah!(F) Psa 40:15 Sie müssen in ihrer Schande erschrecken, die über mich schreien: "Da, da!"(D) Psa 40:15 καταισχυνθείησαν καὶ ἐντραπείησαν ἅμα οἱ ζητοῦντες τὴν ψυχήν μου τοῦ ἐξᾶραι αὐτήν ἀποστραφείησαν εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω καὶ ἐντραπείησαν οἱ θέλοντές μοι κακά(lxx) Psa 40:15 Let them be confounded because of their shame, Who say to me, "Aha, aha!"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:16 ============ Psa 40:16 Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, "The Lord be magnified!"(nasb) Psa 40:16 [vulgate 39:17] gaudeant et laetentur in te qui quaerunt te dicant iugiter magnificetur Dominus qui diligunt salutare tuum(vulgate) Salmos 40:16 Gócense y alégrense en ti todos los que te buscan; y digan siempre los que aman tu salvación: Jehová sea engrandecido.(E) Psaume 40:16 Que tous ceux qui te cherchent Soient dans l'allégresse et se réjouissent en toi! Que ceux qui aiment ton salut Disent sans cesse: Exalté soit l'Eternel!(F) Psa 40:16 Es müssen dein sich freuen und fröhlich sein alle, die nach dir fragen; und die dein Heil lieben, müssen sagen allewege: "Der HERR sei hoch gelobt!"(D) Psa 40:16 κομισάσθωσαν παραχρῆμα αἰσχύνην αὐτῶν οἱ λέγοντές μοι εὖγε εὖγε(lxx) Psa 40:16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, "The Lord be magnified!"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 40:17 ============ Psa 40:17 Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me.
