He shall surely make restitution; if he owns nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:4 ============ Exo 22:4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.(KJV) Exodus 22:5 If a man doe hurt fielde, or vineyarde, and put in his beast to feed in an other mans fielde, he shall recompence of the best of his owne fielde, and of the best of his owne vineyard.(Geneva) Exode 22:5 Si un homme fait du dégât dans un champ ou dans une vigne, et qu'il laisse son bétail paître dans le champ d'autrui, il donnera en dédommagement le meilleur produit de son champ et de sa vigne.(FR) 4 ׃22 כִּ֤י יַבְעֶר־אִישׁ֙ שָׂדֶ֣ה אוֹ־כֶ֔רֶם וְשִׁלַּח֙ אֶת־*בעירה **בְּעִיר֔וֹ וּבִעֵ֖ר בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה אַחֵ֑ר מֵיטַ֥ב שָׂדֵ֛הוּ וּמֵיטַ֥ב כַּרְמ֖וֹ יְשַׁלֵּֽם[c] ס Exodus Exo 22:5 "If a man lets a field or vineyard be grazed bare and lets his animal loose so that it grazes in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:6 ============ Exo 22:6 If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.(KJV) Exodus 22:6 If fire breake out, and catche in ye thornes, and the stackes of corne, or the standing corne, or the fielde be consumed, he that kindled the fire shall make full restitution.(Geneva) Exode 22:6 Si un feu éclate et rencontre des épines, et que du blé en gerbes ou sur pied, ou bien le champ, soit consumé, celui qui a causé l'incendie sera tenu à un dédommagement.(FR) 5 ׃22 כִּֽי־תֵצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ וּמָצְאָ֤ה קֹצִים֙ וְנֶאֱכַ֣ל גָּדִ֔ישׁ א֥וֹ הַקָּמָ֖ה א֣וֹ הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה שַׁלֵּ֣ם יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם הַמַּבְעִ֖ר אֶת־הַבְּעֵרָֽה׃ ס Exodus Exo 22:6 "If a fire breaks out and spreads to thorn bushes, so that stacked grain or the standing grain or the field itself is consumed, he who started the fire shall surely make restitution.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:7 ============ Exo 22:7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.(KJV) Exodus 22:7 If a man deliuer his neighbour money or stuffe to keepe, and it be stollen out of his house, if the thiefe be found, he shall pay the double.(Geneva) Exode 22:7 Si un homme donne à un autre de l'argent ou des objets à garder, et qu'on les vole dans la maison de ce dernier, le voleur fera une restitution au double, dans le cas où il serait trouvé.(FR) 6 ׃22 כִּֽי־יִתֵּן֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֜הוּ כֶּ֤סֶף אֽוֹ־כֵלִים֙ לִשְׁמֹ֔ר וְגֻנַּ֖ב מִבֵּ֣ית הָאִ֑ישׁ אִם־יִמָּצֵ֥א הַגַּנָּ֖ב יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם שְׁנָֽיִם׃ Exodus Exo 22:7 "If a man gives his neighbor money or goods to keep for him and it is stolen from the man's house, if the thief is caught, he shall pay double.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:8 ============ Exo 22:8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.(KJV) Exodus 22:8 If the thiefe be not founde, then the master of the house shalbe brought vnto the Iudges to sweare, whether he hath put his hande vnto his neighbours good, or no.(Geneva) Exode 22:8 Si le voleur ne se trouve pas, le maître de la maison se présentera devant Dieu, pour déclarer qu'il n'a pas mis la main sur le bien de son prochain.(FR) 7 ׃22 אִם־לֹ֤א יִמָּצֵא֙ הַגַּנָּ֔ב וְנִקְרַ֥ב בַּֽעַל־הַבַּ֖יִת אֶל־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים אִם־לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח יָד֖וֹ בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ Exodus Exo 22:8 If the thief is not caught, then the owner of the house shall appear before the judges, to determine whether he laid his hands on his neighbor's property.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:9 ============ Exo 22:9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; he whom the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor.(nasb) ======= Exodus 22:10 ============ Exo 22:10 If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.(KJV) Exodus 22:11 An oth of the Lord shalbe betweene the twaine, that hee hath not put his hande vnto his neighbours good, and the owner of it shall take the othe, and he shall not make it good:(Geneva) Exode 22:11 le serment au nom de l'Eternel interviendra entre les deux parties, et celui qui a gardé l'animal déclarera qu'il n'a pas mis la main sur le bien de son prochain; le maître de l'animal acceptera ce serment, et l'autre ne sera point tenu à une restitution.(FR) 10 ׃22 שְׁבֻעַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה תִּהְיֶה֙ בֵּ֣ין שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם אִם־לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח יָד֖וֹ בִּמְלֶ֣אכֶת רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְלָקַ֥ח בְּעָלָ֖יו וְלֹ֥א יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ Exodus Exo 22:11 an oath before the Lord shall be made by the two of them that he has not laid hands on his neighbor's property;
