Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.(KJV) Ruth 3:2 Now also is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maides thou wast? beholde, he winoweth barly to night in the floore.(Geneva) Ruth 3:2 Et maintenant Boaz, avec les servantes duquel tu as été, n'est-il pas notre parent? Voici, il doit vanner cette nuit les orges qui sont dans l'aire.(FR) 2 ׃3 וְעַתָּ֗ה הֲלֹ֥א בֹ֙עַז֙ מֹֽדַעְתָּ֔נוּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיִ֖ית אֶת־נַעֲרוֹתָ֑יו הִנֵּה־ה֗וּא זֹרֶ֛ה אֶת־גֹּ֥רֶן הַשְּׂעֹרִ֖ים הַלָּֽיְלָה׃ Ruth Rut 3:2 Now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:3 ============ Rut 3:3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.(KJV) Ruth 3:3 Wash thy sellfe therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment vpon thee, and get thee downe to the floore: let not the man know of thee, vntill he haue left eating and drinking.(Geneva) Ruth 3:3 Lave-toi et oins-toi, puis remets tes habits, et descends à l'aire. Tu ne te feras pas connaître à lui, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait achevé de manger et de boire.(FR) 3 ׃3 וְרָחַ֣צְתְּ ׀ וָסַ֗כְתְּ וְשַׂ֧מְתְּ *שמלתך **שִׂמְלֹתַ֛יִךְ עָלַ֖יִךְ *וירדתי **וְיָרַ֣דְתְּ הַגֹּ֑רֶן אַל־תִּוָּדְעִ֣י לָאִ֔ישׁ עַ֥ד כַּלֹּת֖וֹ לֶאֱכֹ֥ל וְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ Ruth Rut 3:3 Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:4 ============ Rut 3:4 And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.(KJV) Ruth 3:4 And when he shall sleepe, marke the place where he layeth him downe, and go, and vncouer the place of his feete, and lay thee downe, and he shall tell thee what thou shalt doe.(Geneva) Ruth 3:4 Et quand il ira se coucher, observe le lieu où il se couche. Ensuite va, découvre ses pieds, et couche-toi. Il te dira lui-même ce que tu as à faire.(FR) 4 ׃3 וִיהִ֣י בְשָׁכְב֗וֹ וְיָדַ֙עַתְּ֙ אֶת־הַמָּקוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשְׁכַּב־שָׁ֔ם וּבָ֛את וְגִלִּ֥ית מַרְגְּלֹתָ֖יו *ושכבתי **וְשָׁכָ֑בְתְּ וְהוּא֙ יַגִּ֣יד לָ֔ךְ אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעַשִֽׂין׃ Ruth Rut 3:4 It shall be when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you shall do."(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:5 ============ Rut 3:5 And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.(KJV) Ruth 3:5 And she answered her, All that thou biddest me, I will doe.(Geneva) Ruth 3:5 Elle lui répondit: Je ferai tout ce que tu as dit.(FR) 5 ׃3 וַתֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלֶ֑יהָ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמְרִ֥י **אֵלַ֖י אֶֽעֱשֶֽׂה׃ Ruth Rut 3:5 She said to her, "All that you say I will do."(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:6 ============ Rut 3:6 And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.(KJV) Ruth 3:6 So she went downe vnto the floore, and did according to all that her mother in lawe bade her.(Geneva) Ruth 3:6 Elle descendit à l'aire, et fit tout ce qu'avait ordonné sa belle-mère.(FR) 6 ׃3 וַתֵּ֖רֶד הַגֹּ֑רֶן וַתַּ֕עַשׂ כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוַּ֖תָּה חֲמוֹתָֽהּ׃ Ruth Rut 3:6 So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law had commanded her.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:7 ============ Rut 3:7 And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.(KJV) Ruth 3:7 And when Boaz had eaten, and drunken, and cheared his heart, he went to lie downe at the end of the heape of corne, & she came softly, and vncouered the place of his feet, & lay downe.(Geneva) Ruth 3:7 Boaz mangea et but, et son coeur était joyeux. Ruth vint alors tout doucement, découvrit ses pieds, et se coucha.(FR) 7 ׃3 וַיֹּ֨אכַל בֹּ֤עַז וַיֵּשְׁתְּ֙ וַיִּיטַ֣ב לִבּ֔וֹ וַיָּבֹ֕א לִשְׁכַּ֖ב בִּקְצֵ֣ה הָעֲרֵמָ֑ה וַתָּבֹ֣א בַלָּ֔ט וַתְּגַ֥ל מַרְגְּלֹתָ֖יו וַתִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ Ruth Rut 3:7 When Boaz had eaten and drunk and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain; and she came secretly, and uncovered his feet and lay down.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:8 ============ Rut 3:8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.(KJV) Ruth 3:8 And at midnight the man was afraide and caught holde: and loe, a woman lay at his feete.(Geneva) Ruth 3:8 Au milieu de la nuit, cet homme eut une frayeur; il se pencha, et voici, une femme était couchée à ses pieds.(FR) 8 ׃3 וַיְהִי֙ בַּחֲצִ֣י הַלַּ֔יְלָה וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד הָאִ֖ישׁ וַיִּלָּפֵ֑ת וְהִנֵּ֣ה אִשָּׁ֔ה שֹׁכֶ֖בֶת מַרְגְּלֹתָֽיו׃ Ruth Rut 3:8 It happened in the middle of the night that the man was startled and bent forward; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:9 ============ Rut 3:9 And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.(KJV) Ruth 3:9 Then he sayd, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmayd: spread therefore the wing of thy garment ouer thine handmayd: for thou art the kinsman.(Geneva) Ruth 3:9 Il dit: Qui es-tu? Elle répondit: Je suis Ruth, ta servante; étends ton aile sur ta servante, car tu as droit de rachat.(FR) 9 ׃3 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מִי־אָ֑תּ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר אָנֹכִי֙ ר֣וּת אֲמָתֶ֔ךָ וּפָרַשְׂתָּ֤ כְנָפֶ֙ךָ֙ עַל־אֲמָ֣תְךָ֔ כִּ֥י גֹאֵ֖ל אָֽתָּה׃ Ruth Rut 3:9 He said, "Who are you?" And she answered, "I am Ruth your maid. So spread your covering over your maid, for you are a close relative."(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:10 ============ Rut 3:10 And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.(KJV) Ruth 3:10 Then sayd he, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: thou hast shewed more goodnes in the latter end, then at the beginning, in as much as thou followedst not yong men, were they poore or rich.(Geneva) Ruth 3:10 Et il dit: Sois bénie de l'Eternel, ma fille! Ce dernier trait témoigne encore plus en ta faveur que le premier, car tu n'as pas recherché des jeunes gens, pauvres ou riches.(FR) 10 ׃3 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בְּרוּכָ֨ה אַ֤תְּ לַֽיהוָה֙ בִּתִּ֔י הֵיטַ֛בְתְּ חַסְדֵּ֥ךְ הָאַחֲר֖וֹן מִן־הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן לְבִלְתִּי־לֶ֗כֶת אַחֲרֵי֙ הַבַּ֣חוּרִ֔ים אִם־דַּ֖ל וְאִם־עָשִֽׁיר׃ Ruth Rut 3:10 Then he said, "May you be blessed of the Lord, my daughter. You have shown your last kindness to be better than the first by not going after young men, whether poor or rich.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:11 ============ Rut 3:11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.(KJV) Ruth 3:11 And now, my daughter, feare not: I will doe to thee all that thou requirest: for all the citie of my people doeth knowe, that thou art a vertuous woman.(Geneva) Ruth 3:11 Maintenant, ma fille, ne crains point; je ferai pour toi tout ce que tu diras; car toute la porte de mon peuple sait que tu es une femme vertueuse.(FR) 11 ׃3 וְעַתָּ֗ה בִּתִּי֙ אַל־תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמְרִ֖י אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּ֑ךְ כִּ֤י יוֹדֵ֙עַ֙ כָּל־שַׁ֣עַר עַמִּ֔י כִּ֛י אֵ֥שֶׁת חַ֖יִל אָֽתְּ׃ Ruth Rut 3:11 Now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you ask, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:12 ============ Rut 3:12 And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.(KJV) Ruth 3:12 And now, it is true that I am thy kinsman, howbeit there is a kinsman neerer then I.(Geneva) Ruth 3:12 Il est bien vrai que j'ai droit de rachat, mais il en existe un autre plus proche que moi.(FR) 12 ׃3 וְעַתָּה֙ כִּ֣י אָמְנָ֔ם כִּ֥י *אם גֹאֵ֖ל אָנֹ֑כִי וְגַ֛ם יֵ֥שׁ גֹּאֵ֖ל קָר֥וֹב מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ Ruth Rut 3:12 Now it is true I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:13 ============ Rut 3:13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.(KJV) Ruth 3:13 Tarie to night, and when morning is come, if he will doe the duetie of a kinsman vnto thee, well, let him doe the kinsmans duetie: but if he will not doe the kinsmans part, then wil I doe the duetie of a kinsman, as the Lorde liueth: sleepe vntill the morning.(Geneva) Ruth 3:13 Passe ici la nuit. Et demain, s'il veut user envers toi du droit de rachat, à la bonne heure, qu'il le fasse; mais s'il ne lui plaît pas d'en user envers toi, j'en userai, moi, l'Eternel est vivant! Reste couchée jusqu'au matin.(FR) 13 ׃3 לִ֣ינִי ׀ הַלַּ֗יְלָה וְהָיָ֤ה בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ אִם־יִגְאָלֵ֥ךְ טוֹב֙ יִגְאָ֔ל וְאִם־לֹ֨א יַחְפֹּ֧ץ לְגָֽאֳלֵ֛ךְ וּגְאַלְתִּ֥יךְ אָנֹ֖כִי חַי־יְהוָ֑ה שִׁכְבִ֖י עַד־הַבֹּֽקֶר׃ Ruth Rut 3:13 Remain this night, and when morning comes, if he will redeem you, good; let him redeem you. But if he does not wish to redeem you, then I will redeem you, as the Lord lives. Lie down until morning."(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:14 ============ Rut 3:14 And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.(KJV) Ruth 3:14 And she lay at his feete vntill the morning: and she arose before one could know another: for he sayd, Let no man knowe, that a woman came into the floore.(Geneva) Ruth 3:14 Elle resta couchée à ses pieds jusqu'au matin, et elle se leva avant qu'on pût se reconnaître l'un l'autre. Boaz dit: Qu'on ne sache pas qu'une femme est entrée dans l'aire.(FR) 14 ׃3 וַתִּשְׁכַּ֤ב *מרגלתו **מַרְגְּלוֹתָיוֹ֙ עַד־הַבֹּ֔קֶר וַתָּ֕קָם *בטרום **בְּטֶ֛רֶם יַכִּ֥יר אִ֖ישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵ֑הוּ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַל־יִוָּדַ֔ע כִּי־בָ֥אָה הָאִשָּׁ֖ה הַגֹּֽרֶן׃ Ruth Rut 3:14 So she lay at his feet until morning and rose before one could recognize another; and he said, "Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor."(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:15 ============ Rut 3:15 Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.(KJV) Ruth 3:15 Also he sayd, Bring the sheete that thou hast vpon thee, and holde it; when she helde it, he measured sixe measures of barly, and layde them on her, and she went into the citie.(Geneva) Ruth 3:15 Et il ajouta: Donne le manteau qui est sur toi, et tiens-le. Elle le tint, et il mesura six mesures d'orge, qu'il chargea sur elle. So she held it, and he measured six measures of barley and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:16 ============ Rut 3:16 And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.(KJV) Ruth 3:16 And when she came to her mother in law, she sayd, Who art thou, my daughter? And she tolde her all that the man had done to her,(Geneva) Ruth 3:16 Ruth revint auprès de sa belle-mère, et Naomi dit: Est-ce toi, ma fille? Ruth lui raconta tout ce que cet homme avait fait pour elle.(FR) 16 ׃3 וַתָּבוֹא֙ אֶל־חֲמוֹתָ֔הּ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר מִי־אַ֣תְּ בִּתִּ֑י וַתַּ֨גֶּד־לָ֔[t]הּ אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָֽשָׂה־לָ֖הּ הָאִֽישׁ׃ Ruth Rut 3:16 When she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "How did it go, my daughter?" And she told her all that the man had done for her.(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:17 ============ Rut 3:17 And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.(KJV) Ruth 3:17 And said, These sixe measures of barly gaue he me: for he sayd to me, Thou shalt not come emptie vnto thy mother in lawe.(Geneva) Ruth 3:17 Elle dit: Il m'a donné ces six mesures d'orge, en disant: Tu ne retourneras pas à vide vers ta belle-mère.(FR) 17 ׃3 וַתֹּ֕אמֶר שֵׁשׁ־הַשְּׂעֹרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה נָ֣תַן לִ֑י כִּ֚י אָמַ֣ר **אֵלַ֔י אַל־תָּב֥וֹאִי רֵיקָ֖ם אֶל־חֲמוֹתֵֽךְ׃ Ruth Rut 3:17 She said, "These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said, 'Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"(nasb) ======= Ruth 3:18 ============ Rut 3:18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.(kjv) Ruth 3:18 Then sayd she, My daughter, sit still, vntill thou knowe how the thing will fall: for the man wil not be in rest, vntill he hath finished the matter this same day.(Geneva) Ruth 3:18 Et Naomi dit: Sois tranquille, ma fille, jusqu'à ce que tu saches comment finira la chose, car cet homme ne se donnera point de repos qu'il n'ait terminé cette affaire aujourd'hui.(FR) 18 ׃3 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ שְׁבִ֣י בִתִּ֔י עַ֚ד אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֵּֽדְעִ֔ין אֵ֖יךְ יִפֹּ֣ל דָּבָ֑ר כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יִשְׁקֹט֙ הָאִ֔ישׁ כִּֽי־אִם־כִּלָּ֥ה הַדָּבָ֖ר הַיּֽוֹם׃ Ruth Rut 3:18 Then she said, "Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he has settled it today." (nasb) ======= Ruth 4:1 ============ Rut 4:1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.(KJV) Ruth 4:1 Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate there, and beholde, the kinsman, of whome Boaz had spoken, came by: and he sayd, Ho, snch one, come, sit downe here; he turned, and sate downe.(Geneva) Ruth 4:1 Boaz monta à la porte, et s'y arrêta.
