When he saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness,(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:4 ============ 1Sa 26:4 David therefore sent out spies, and understood that Saul was come in very deed.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:4 (For Dauid had sent out spies, and vnderstood, that Saul was come in very deede)(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:4 il envoya des espions, et apprit avec certitude que Saül était arrivé.(FR) 4 ׃26 וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח דָּוִ֖ד מְרַגְּלִ֑ים וַיֵּ֕דַע כִּֽי־בָ֥א שָׁא֖וּל אֶל־נָכֽוֹן׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:4 David sent out spies, and he knew that Saul was definitely coming.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:5 ============ 1Sa 26:5 And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:5 Then Dauid arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched, and when Dauid beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the sonne of Ner which was his chiefe captaine, (for Saul lay in the fort, and the people pitched round about him)(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:5 Alors David se leva et vint au lieu où Saül était campé, et il vit la place où couchait Saül, avec Abner, fils de Ner, chef de son armée. And David saw the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the commander of his army; and Saul was lying in the circle of the camp, and the people were camped around him.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:6 ============ 1Sa 26:6 Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:6 Then spake Dauid, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah, brother to Ioab, saying, Who will go downe with me to Saul to the hoste? And Abishai said, "I will go down with you."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:7 ============ 1Sa 26:7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:7 So Dauid and Abishai came downe to the people by night: and beholde, Saul lay sleeping within the fort, and his speare did sticke in the ground at his head: and Abner and the people lay round about him.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:7 David et Abischaï allèrent de nuit vers le peuple. Et voici, Saül était couché et dormait au milieu du camp, et sa lance était fixée en terre à son chevet. Abner et le peuple étaient couchés autour de lui.(FR) 7 ׃26 וַיָּבֹא֩ דָוִ֨ד וַאֲבִישַׁ֥י ׀ אֶל־הָעָם֮ לַיְלָה֒ וְהִנֵּ֣ה שָׁא֗וּל שֹׁכֵ֤ב יָשֵׁן֙ בַּמַּעְגָּ֔ל וַחֲנִית֥וֹ מְעוּכָֽה־בָאָ֖רֶץ *מראשתו **מְרַאֲשֹׁתָ֑יו וְאַבְנֵ֣ר וְהָעָ֔ם שֹׁכְבִ֖ים *סביבתו **סְבִיבֹתָֽיו׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 26:7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night, and behold, Saul lay sleeping inside the circle of the camp with his spear stuck in the ground at his head; and Abner and the people were lying around him.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:8 ============ 1Sa 26:8 Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:8 Then saide Abishai to Dauid, God hath closed thine enemie into thine hande this day: now therefore, I pray thee, let me smite him once with a speare to the earth, and I will not smite him againe.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:8 Abischaï dit à David: Dieu livre aujourd'hui ton ennemi entre tes mains; laisse-moi, je te prie, le frapper de ma lance et le clouer en terre d'un seul coup, pour que je n'aie pas à y revenir.(FR) 8 ׃26 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲבִישַׁי֙ אֶל־דָּוִ֔ד סִגַּ֨ר אֱלֹהִ֥ים הַיּ֛וֹם אֶת־אוֹיִבְךָ֖ בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ וְעַתָּה֩ אַכֶּ֨נּוּ נָ֜א בַּחֲנִ֤ית וּבָאָ֙רֶץ֙ פַּ֣עַם אַחַ֔ת וְלֹ֥א אֶשְׁנֶ֖ה לֽוֹ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:8 Then Abishai said to David, "Today God has delivered your enemy into your hand; now therefore, please let me strike him with the spear to the ground with one stroke, and I will not strike him the second time."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:9 ============ 1Sa 26:9 And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD's anointed, and be guiltless?(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:9 And Dauid sayde to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can lay his hand on the Lordes anoynted, and be giltlesse?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:9 Mais David dit à Abischaï: Ne le détruis pas! car qui pourrait impunément porter la main sur l'oint de l'Eternel?(FR) 9 ׃26 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר דָּוִ֛ד אֶל־אֲבִישַׁ֖י אַל־תַּשְׁחִיתֵ֑הוּ כִּ֠י מִ֣י שָׁלַ֥ח יָד֛וֹ בִּמְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה וְנִקָּֽה׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 26:9 But David said to Abishai, "Do not destroy him, for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord's anointed and be without guilt?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:10 ============ 1Sa 26:10 David said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:10 Moreouer Dauid said, As the Lord liueth, eyther the Lorde shall smite him, or his day shall come to dye, or he shall descend into battel, and perish.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:10 Et David dit: L'Eternel est vivant! c'est à l'Eternel seul à le frapper, soit que son jour vienne et qu'il meure, soit qu'il descende sur un champ de bataille et qu'il y périsse.(FR) 10 ׃26 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִד֙ חַי־יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אִם־יְהוָ֖ה יִגָּפֶ֑נּוּ אֽוֹ־יוֹמ֤וֹ יָבוֹא֙ וָמֵ֔ת א֧וֹ בַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה יֵרֵ֖ד וְנִסְפָּֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:10 David also said, "As the Lord lives, surely the Lord will strike him, or his day will come that he dies, or he will go down into battle and perish.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:11 ============ 1Sa 26:11 The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD's anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:11 The Lorde keepe mee from laying mine hand vpon the Lordes anointed: but, I pray thee, take now the speare that is at his head, and the pot of water, and let vs goe hence.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:11 Loin de moi, par l'Eternel! de porter la main sur l'oint de l'Eternel! Prends seulement la lance qui est à son chevet, avec la cruche d'eau, et allons-nous-en.(FR) 11 ׃26 חָלִ֤ילָה לִּי֙ מֵֽיהוָ֔ה מִשְּׁלֹ֥חַ יָדִ֖י בִּמְשִׁ֣יחַ יְהוָ֑ה וְ֠עַתָּה קַח־נָ֨א אֶֽת־הַחֲנִ֜ית אֲשֶׁ֧ר *מראשתו **מְרַאֲשֹׁתָ֛יו וְאֶת־צַפַּ֥חַת הַמַּ֖יִם וְנֵ֥לֲכָה לָּֽנוּ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:11 The Lord forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the Lord's anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head and the jug of water, and let us go."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:12 ============ 1Sa 26:12 So David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul's bolster; and they gat them away, and no man saw it, nor knew it, neither awaked: for they were all asleep; because a deep sleep from the LORD was fallen upon them.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:12 So Dauid tooke the speare and the pot of water from Sauls head, and they gate them away, and no man saw it, nor marked it, neither did any awake, but they were all asleepe: for the Lorde had sent a dead sleepe vpon them.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:12 David prit donc la lance et la cruche d'eau qui étaient au chevet de Saül; et ils s'en allèrent. Personne ne les vit ni ne s'aperçut de rien, et personne ne se réveilla, car ils dormaient tous d'un profond sommeil dans lequel l'Eternel les avait plongés.(FR) 12 ׃26 וַיִּקַּח֩ דָּוִ֨ד אֶֽת־הַחֲנִ֜ית וְאֶת־צַפַּ֤חַת הַמַּ֙יִם֙ מֵרַאֲשֹׁתֵ֣י שָׁא֔וּל וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם וְאֵ֣ין רֹאֶה֩ וְאֵ֨ין יוֹדֵ֜עַ וְאֵ֣ין מֵקִ֗יץ כִּ֤י כֻלָּם֙ יְשֵׁנִ֔ים כִּ֚י תַּרְדֵּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה נָפְלָ֖ה עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:12 So David took the spear and the jug of water from beside Saul's head, and they went away, but no one saw or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a sound sleep from the Lord had fallen on them.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:13 ============ 1Sa 26:13 Then David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of an hill afar off; a great space being between them:(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:13 Then Dauid went vnto the other side, and stoode on the toppe of an hill a farre off, a great space being betweene them.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:13 David passa de l'autre côté, et s'arrêta au loin sur le sommet de la montagne, à une grande distance du camp.(FR) 13 ׃26 וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר דָּוִד֙ הָעֵ֔בֶר וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד עַל־רֹאשׁ־הָהָ֖ר מֵֽרָחֹ֑ק רַ֥ב הַמָּק֖וֹם בֵּינֵיהֶֽם׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:13 Then David crossed over to the other side and stood on top of the mountain at a distance with a large area between them.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:14 ============ 1Sa 26:14 And David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who art thou that criest to the king?(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:14 And Dauid cryed to the people, and to Abner the sonne of Ner, saying, Hearest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered, & said, Who art thou that cryest to the King?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:14 Et il cria au peuple et à Abner, fils de Ner: Ne répondras-tu pas, Abner? Abner répondit: Qui es-tu, toi qui pousses des cris vers le roi?(FR) 14 ׃26 וַיִּקְרָ֨א דָוִ֜ד אֶל־הָעָ֗ם וְאֶל־אַבְנֵ֤ר בֶּן־נֵר֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הֲל֥וֹא תַעֲנֶ֖ה אַבְנֵ֑ר וַיַּ֤עַן אַבְנֵר֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר מִ֥י אַתָּ֖ה קָרָ֥אתָ אֶל־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 26:14 David called to the people and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, "Will you not answer, Abner?" Then Abner replied, "Who are you who calls to the king?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:15 ============ 1Sa 26:15 And David said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lord the king? for there came one of the people in to destroy the king thy lord.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:15 And Dauid said to Abner, Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lorde the King? for there came one of the folke in to destroy the King thy lord.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:15 Et David dit à Abner: N'es-tu pas un homme? et qui est ton pareil en Israël? Pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas gardé le roi, ton maître? Car quelqu'un du peuple est venu pour tuer le roi, ton maître.(FR) 15 ׃26 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ דָּוִ֨ד אֶל־אַבְנֵ֜ר הֲלוֹא־אִ֣ישׁ אַתָּ֗ה וּמִ֤י כָמ֙וֹךָ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְלָ֙מָּה֙ לֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔רְתָּ אֶל־אֲדֹנֶ֖יךָ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ כִּי־בָא֙ אַחַ֣ד הָעָ֔ם לְהַשְׁחִ֖ית אֶת־הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:15 So David said to Abner, "Are you not a man? And who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not guarded your lord the king? For one of the people came to destroy the king your lord.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:16 ============ 1Sa 26:16 This thing is not good that thou hast done. As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not kept your master, the LORD's anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his bolster.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:16 This is not well done of thee: as the Lord liueth, ye are worthy to dye, because ye haue not kept your master the Lordes Anointed: and now see where the Kings speare is, and the pot of water that was at his head.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:16 Ce que tu as fait là n'est pas bien. L'Eternel est vivant! vous méritez la mort, pour n'avoir pas veillé sur votre maître, sur l'oint de l'Eternel. Regarde maintenant où sont la lance du roi et la cruche d'eau, qui étaient à son chevet!(FR) 16 ׃26 לֹא־ט֞וֹב הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּה֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂיתָ֒ חַי־יְהוָ֗ה כִּ֤י בְנֵי־מָ֙וֶת֙ אַתֶּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־שְׁמַרְתֶּ֛ם עַל־אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֖ם עַל־מְשִׁ֣יחַ יְהוָ֑ה וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ רְאֵ֗ה אֵֽי־חֲנִ֥ית הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ וְאֶת־צַפַּ֥חַת הַמַּ֖יִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר *מראשתו **מְרַאֲשֹׁתָֽיו׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:16 This thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, all of you must surely die, because you did not guard your lord, the Lord's anointed. And now, see where the king's spear is and the jug of water that was at his head."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:17 ============ 1Sa 26:17 And Saul knew David's voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:17 And Saul knewe Dauids voyce, and sayde, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? And Dauid sayde, It is my voyce, my lorde O King.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:17 Saül reconnut la voix de David, et dit: Est-ce bien ta voix, mon fils David? Et David répondit: C'est ma voix, ô roi, mon seigneur!(FR) 17 ׃26 וַיַּכֵּ֤ר שָׁאוּל֙ אֶת־ק֣וֹל דָּוִ֔ד וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הֲקוֹלְךָ֥ זֶ֖ה בְּנִ֣י דָוִ֑ד וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֔ד קוֹלִ֖י אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:17 Then Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And David said, "It is my voice, my lord the king."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:18 ============ 1Sa 26:18 And he said, Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand?(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:18 And he sayde, Wherefore doeth my lorde thus persecute his seruant? for what haue I done? or what euill is in mine hand?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 26:18 Et il dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur poursuit-il son serviteur? Qu'ai-je fait, et de quoi suis-je coupable?(FR) 18 ׃26 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לָ֥מָּה זֶּ֛ה אֲדֹנִ֥י רֹדֵ֖ף אַחֲרֵ֣י עַבְדּ֑וֹ כִּ֚י מֶ֣ה עָשִׂ֔יתִי וּמַה־בְּיָדִ֖י רָעָֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 26:18 He also said, "Why then is my lord pursuing his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 26:19 ============ 1Sa 26:19 Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.(KJV) 1 Samuel 26:19 Now therefore, I beseech thee, let my lord the King heare the wordes of his seruant.
