And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.(KJV) Acts 9:5 And he sayd, Who art thou, Lord? And He said, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, (nasb) ======= Acts 9:6 ============ Act 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.(KJV) Acts 9:6 He then both trembling and astonied, sayd, Lord, what wilt thou that I doe? Now for several days he was with the disciples who were at Damascus, (nasb) ======= Acts 9:20 ============ Act 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.(KJV) Acts 9:20 And straightway hee preached Christ in the Synagogues, that he was that Sonne of God,(Geneva) Actes 9:20 Et aussitôt il prêcha dans les synagogues que Jésus est le Fils de Dieu.(FR) וַיְמַהֵר וַיִּקְרָא בְּבָתֵּי־הַכְּנֶסֶת בְּשֵׁם יֵשׁוּעַ לֵאמֹר כִּי־הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים׃ כ Acts Act 9:20 and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is the Son of God."(nasb) ======= Acts 9:21 ============ Act 9:21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?(KJV) Acts 9:21 So that all that heard him, were amased, and sayde, Is not this hee, that made hauocke of them which called on this Name in Hierusalem, and came hither for that intent, that hee should bring them bound vnto the hie Priests?(Geneva) Actes 9:21 Tous ceux qui l'entendaient étaient dans l'étonnement, et disaient: N'est-ce pas celui qui persécutait à Jérusalem ceux qui invoquent ce nom, et n'est-il pas venu ici pour les emmener liés devant les principaux sacrificateurs?(FR) וְכָל־הַשֹּׁמְעִים נִבְהֲלוּ לֵאמֹר הֲלֹא זֶה הוּא אֲשֶׁר הִשְׁמִיד בִּירוּשָׁלַיִם אֶת־הַקֹּרִאים בַּשֵּׁם הַזֶּה וּלְבַעֲבוּר זֹאת בָּא גַם־הֵנָּה לְהוֹלִיךְ אֹתָם אֲסוּרִים אֶל־רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים׃ כא Acts Act 9:21 All those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying, "Is this not he who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and who had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?"(nasb) ======= Acts 9:22 ============ Act 9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.(KJV) Acts 9:22 But Saul encreased the more in strength, and confounded the Iewes which dwelt at Damascus, confirming, that this was that Christ.(Geneva) Actes 9:22 Cependant Saul se fortifiait de plus en plus, et il confondait les Juifs qui habitaient Damas, démontrant que Jésus est le Christ.(FR) וַיְהִי שָׁאוּל הוֹלֵךְ וְחָזֵק וּמְסַכְסֵךְ אֶת־הַיְּהוּדִים בְּדַמָּשֶׂק כִּי הוֹרָה לָהֶם דֵּי בָאֵר כִּי־זֶה הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ כב Acts Act 9:22 But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving that this Jesus is the Christ. (nasb) ======= Acts 9:23 ============ Act 9:23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:(KJV) Acts 9:23 And after that many dayes were fulfilled, the Iewes tooke counsell together, to kill him,(Geneva) Actes 9:23 Au bout d'un certain temps, les Juifs se concertèrent pour le tuer,(FR) וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ יָמִים רַבִּים וַיִּקְשְׁרוּ עָלָיו הַיְּהוּדִים לְהָרְגוֹ׃ כג Acts Act 9:23 When many days had elapsed, the Jews plotted together to do away with him, (nasb) ======= Acts 9:24 ============ Act 9:24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.(KJV) Acts 9:24 But their laying awayte was knowen of Saul: nowe they watched the gates day and night, that they might kill him.(Geneva) Actes 9:24 et leur complot parvint à la connaissance de Saul. On gardait les portes jour et nuit, afin de lui ôter la vie.(FR) וַיִּוָּדַע לְשָׁאוּל קִשְׁרָם וְכִי גַם־שֹׁמְרִים הֵם אֶת־הַשְּׁעָרִים יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה לְהָרְגוֹ׃ כד Acts Act 9:24 but their plot became known to Saul. When he arrived, they brought him into the upper room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them.
