And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.(KJV) Acts 10:4 But when hee looked on him, hee was afrayd, and sayd, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, "Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God. (nasb) ======= Acts 10:17 ============ Act 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,(KJV) Acts 10:17 Nowe while Peter douted in himselfe what this vision which he had seene, meant, beholde, the men which were sent from Cornelius, had inquired for Simons house, and stoode at the gate,(Geneva) Actes 10:17 Tandis que Pierre ne savait en lui-même que penser du sens de la vision qu'il avait eue, voici, les hommes envoyés par Corneille, s'étant informés de la maison de Simon, se présentèrent à la porte,(FR) וַתִּפָּעֶם רוּחַ כֵּיפָא לָדַעַת מָה הוּא הַמַּחֲזֶה אֲשֶׁר חָזָה וְהִנֵּה הָאֲנָשִׁים שְׁלוּחֵי קָרְנֵילִיּוֹס מְבַקְשִׁים בֵּית שִׁמְעוֹן וְעֹמְדִים עַל־הַפָּתַח׃ יז Acts Act 10:17 Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate; (nasb) ======= Acts 10:18 ============ Act 10:18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.(KJV) Acts 10:18 And called, and asked, whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.(Geneva) Actes 10:18 et demandèrent à haute voix si c'était là que logeait Simon, surnommé Pierre.(FR) וַיִּקְרְאוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ הֲמִתְגּוֹרֵר בָּזֶה שִׁמְעוֹן הַמְכֻנֶּה כֵּיפָא׃ יח Acts Act 10:18 and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there. (nasb) ======= Acts 10:20 ============ Act 10:20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.(KJV) Acts 10:20 Arise therefore, and get thee downe, and goe with them, and doute nothing: For I haue sent them.(Geneva) Actes 10:20 lève-toi, descends, et pars avec eux sans hésiter, car c'est moi qui les ai envoyés.(FR) וְעַתָּה קוּם רֵד וָלֵךְ אִתָּם וְאַל־תִּפְסַח הֵנָּה וְהֵנָּה כִּי אָנֹכִי שְׁלַחְתִּים׃ כ Acts Act 10:20 But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself."(nasb) ======= Acts 10:21 ============ Act 10:21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?(KJV) Acts 10:21 Then Peter went downe to the men, which were sent vnto him from Cornelius, and sayd, Beholde, I am he whome ye seeke: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?(Geneva) Actes 10:21 Pierre donc descendit, et il dit à ces hommes: Voici, je suis celui que vous cherchez; quel est le motif qui vous amène?(FR) וַיֵּרֶד כֵּיפָא אֶל־הָאֲנָשִׁים הַנִּשְׁלָחִים אֵלָיו מֵאֵת קָרְנֵילִיּוֹס וַיֹּאמַר אֲנִי הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם מְבַקְשִׁים עַל־מַה בָּאתֶם׃ כא Acts Act 10:21 Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?"(nasb) ======= Acts 10:22 ============ Act 10:22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.(KJV) Acts 10:22 And they sayd, Cornelius the captaine, a iust man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Iewes, was warned from heauen by an holy Angel, to send for thee into his house, and to heare thy wordes.(Geneva) Actes 10:22 Ils répondirent: Corneille, centenier, homme juste et craignant Dieu, et de qui toute la nation des Juifs rend un bon témoignage, a été divinement averti par un saint ange de te faire venir dans sa maison et d'entendre tes paroles.(FR) וַיַּעֲנוּ לֵאמֹר קָרְנֵילִיּוֹס אֶחָד מִשָּׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת אִישׁ צַּדִיק וִירֵא אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר לוֹ שֵׁם טוֹב בְּכָל־עַם הַיְּהוּדִים נִתְּנָה לּוֹ מִצְוַת יְהוָֹה מִפִּי מַלְאָךְ קָדוֹשׁ לִקְרֹא לְךָ אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ לְבַעֲבוּר יִשְׁמַע מִדַּבְּרֹתֶיךָ׃ כב Acts Act 10:22 They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you."(nasb) ======= Acts 10:23 ============ Act 10:23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.(KJV) Acts 10:23 Then called he them in, and lodged them, and the next day, Peter went foorth with them, and certaine brethren from Ioppa accompanied him.(Geneva) Actes 10:23 Pierre donc les fit entrer, et les logea. And on the next day he got up and went away with them, and some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him. (nasb) ======= Acts 10:24 ============ Act 10:24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.(KJV) Acts 10:24 And the day after, they entred into Cesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. (nasb) ======= Acts 10:28 ============ Act 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.(KJV) Acts 10:28 And he sayd vnto them, Ye know that it is an vnlawfull thing for a man that is a Iewe, to company, or come vnto one of another nation: but God hath shewed me, that I should not call any man polluted, or vncleane.(Geneva) Actes 10:28 Vous savez, leur dit-il, qu'il est défendu à un Juif de se lier avec un étranger ou d'entrer chez lui; mais Dieu m'a appris à ne regarder aucun homme comme souillé et impur.(FR) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אַתֶּם יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי לֹא־נָכוֹן לְאִישׁ יְהוּדִי לִקְרֹב אֶל־אִישׁ נָכְרִי לְדָבְקָה בּוֹ וֵאלֹהִים הֶרְאַנִי לְבִלְתִּי קְרֹא שֶׁקֶץ אוֹ טָמֵא לְכָל־בֶּן־אָדָם׃ כח Acts Act 10:28 And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean. (nasb) ======= Acts 10:29 ============ Act 10:29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?(KJV) Acts 10:29 Therefore came I vnto you without saying nay, when I was sent for.
