Today's Date: 4/2/2025 לֹא תָקִימוּ מִכֶּם אַחַי מוֹרִים רַבִּים בְּדַעְתְּכֶם כִּי תִכְבַּד עָלֵינוּ יַד־הַמִּשְׁפָּט׃ א James Jas 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. (nasb) ======= James 3:2 ============ Jam 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.(KJV) James 3:2 For in many things we sinne all. If any man sinne not in word, he is a perfect man, and able to bridle all the body.(Geneva) Jacques 3:2 Nous bronchons tous de plusieurs manières. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. (nasb) ======= James 3:4 ============ Jam 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.(KJV) James 3:4 Behold also the shippes, which though they be so great, and are driuen of fierce windes, yet are they turned about with a very small rudder, whither soeuer the gouernour listeth.(Geneva) Jacques 3:4 Voici, même les navires, qui sont si grands et que poussent des vents impétueux, sont dirigés par un très petit gouvernail, au gré du pilote.(FR) וְהִנֵּה גַּם־אֱנִיּוֹת גְּדֹלֹת הַנֶּהְדָּפוֹת בְּרוּחַ עַזָּה יַטֶּה אֹתָן מָשׁוֹט קָטֹן אֶל־אֲשֶׁר יַחְפֹּץ רוּחַ הַחֹבֵל׃ ד James Jas 3:4 Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. (nasb) ======= James 3:5 ============ Jam 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!(KJV) James 3:5 Euen so the tongue is a litle member, and boasteth of great things: beholde, howe great a thing a litle fire kindleth.(Geneva) Jacques 3:5 De même, la langue est un petit membre, et elle se vante de grandes choses. Voici, comme un petit feu peut embraser une grande forêt!(FR) כֵּן גַּם־הַלָּשׁוֹן אֵבָר קָטֹן וּמְדַבֶּרֶת גְּדֹלוֹת אֵיךְ מְעַט אֵשׁ תִּבְעַר יַעַר גָּדוֹל׃ ה James Jas 3:5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! (nasb) ======= James 3:6 ============ Jam 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.(KJV) James 3:6 And the tongue is fire, yea, a worlde of wickednesse: so is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of hell.(Geneva) Jacques 3:6 La langue aussi est un feu; c'est le monde de l'iniquité. (nasb) ======= James 3:7 ============ Jam 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:(KJV) James 3:7 For the whole nature of beasts, & of birds, and of creeping things, and things of the sea is tamed, and hath bene tamed of the nature of man.(Geneva) Jacques 3:7 Toutes les espèces de bêtes et d'oiseaux, de reptiles et d'animaux marins, sont domptés et ont été domptés par la nature humaine;(FR) כָּל־מִין בְּהֵמָה וְעוֹף וְרֶמֶשׂ וְחַיְתוֹ־יָם נִכְבָּשִׁים הֵם כֻּלָּם כִּי הָאָדָם לְמִינֵהוּ כֹּבֵשׁ אֹתָם׃ ז James Jas 3:7 For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. (nasb) ======= James 3:8 ============ Jam 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.(KJV) James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame. (nasb) ======= James 3:12 ============ Jam 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.(KJV) James 3:12 Can ye figge tree, my brethren, bring forth oliues, either a vine figges? so can no fountaine make both salt water and sweete.(Geneva) Jacques 3:12 Un figuier, mes frères, peut-il produire des olives, ou une vigne des figues? Nor can salt water produce fresh. (nasb) ======= James 3:13 ============ Jam 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.(KJV) James 3:13 Who is a wise man & endued with knowledge among you? let him shew by good conuersation his workes in meekenesse of wisdome.(Geneva) Jacques 3:13 Lequel d'entre vous est sage et intelligent? Qu'il montre ses oeuvres par une bonne conduite avec la douceur de la sagesse.(FR) מִי חָכָם וְנָבוֹן בָּכֶם יַרְאֵנוּ אֶת־מַעֲשָׂיו מִתּוֹךְ מַעְגְּלֵי חַיָּיו הַטּוֹבִים בְּעַנְוַת חָכְמָתוֹ׃ יג James Jas 3:13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. (nasb) ======= James 3:14 ============ Jam 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.(KJV) James 3:14 But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts, reioyce not, neither be liars against the trueth.(Geneva) Jacques 3:14 Mais si vous avez dans votre coeur un zèle amer et un esprit de dispute, ne vous glorifiez pas et ne mentez pas contre la vérité.(FR) וְאִם־חֲמַת קִנְאָה בָכֶם וְלִבְּכֶם יְגָרֶה מָדוֹן לָמָּה תִּתְהַלְלוּ וּתְכַחֵשׁוּ נֶגֶד פְּנֵי הָאֱמֶת׃ יד James Jas 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. (nasb) ======= James 3:15 ============ Jam 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.(KJV) James 3:15 This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, and deuilish.(Geneva) Jacques 3:15 Cette sagesse n'est point celle qui vient d'en haut; mais elle est terrestre, charnelle, diabolique.(FR) לֹא זוּ הַחָכְמָה הַבָּאָה מֵעָל כִּי הִיא מִלְּמַטָּה לָאָרֶץ מִטֶּבָע הַבָּשָׂר אוֹ הַשֵּׁדִים׃ טו James Jas 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. (nasb) ======= James 3:16 ============ Jam 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.(KJV) James 3:16 For where enuying and strife is, there is sedition, and all maner of euill workes.(Geneva) Jacques 3:16 Car là où il y a un zèle amer et un esprit de dispute, il y a du désordre et toutes sortes de mauvaises actions.(FR) כִּי־בִמְקוֹם קִנְאָה וּמְדָנִים שָׁם מְהוּמָה וְכל־דְּבַר בְּלִיָּעַל׃ טז James Jas 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. (nasb) ======= James 3:17 ============ Jam 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.(KJV) James 3:17 But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easie to be intreated, full of mercie & good fruites, without iudging, and without hipocrisie.(Geneva) Jacques 3:17 La sagesse d'en haut est premièrement pure, ensuite pacifique, modérée, conciliante, pleine de miséricorde et de bons fruits, exempte de duplicité, d'hypocrisie.(FR) אַךְ הַחָכְמָה הַיֹּרֶדֶת מֵעָל טְהוֹרָה הִיא פִּיהָ תִפְתַּח לְשָׁלוֹם וּבַעֲנָוָה דְבָרֶיהָ נוֹחָה הִיא לְהִתְרַצּוֹת מְלֵאָה רַחֲמִים וּפִרְיָהּ טוֹב אֵין עִמָּהּ מַשּׂא פָנִים וְאֵין חֲנֻפָּה בָּהּ׃ יז James Jas 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
