Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? (nasb) ======= James 4:5 ============ Jam 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?(KJV) James 4:5 Doe ye thinke that the Scripture sayeth in vaine, The spirit that dwelleth in vs, lusteth after enuie?(Geneva) Jacques 4:5 Croyez-vous que l'Ecriture parle en vain? C'est avec jalousie que Dieu chérit l'esprit qu'il a fait habiter en nous.(FR) הַאִם תַּחְשְׁבוּן כִּי הַמִּקְרָא יַזְהִיר לָרִיק וְהָרוּחַ הַשֹּׁכֵן בְּקִרְבֵּנוּ הַאִם תַּאֲוָתוֹ קִנְאָה׃ ה James Jas 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose. "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"? (nasb) ======= James 4:6 ============ Jam 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."(nasb) ======= James 4:7 ============ Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. He that speaketh euill of his brother, or he that condemneth his brother, speaketh euill of ye Law, and condemneth the Lawe: and if thou condemnest the Lawe, thou art not an obseruer of the Lawe, but a iudge.(Geneva) Jacques 4:11 Ne parlez point mal les uns des autres, frères. (nasb) ======= James 4:13 ============ Jam 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:(KJV) James 4:13 Goe to now ye that say, To day or to morowe we will goe into such a citie, and continue there a yeere, and bye and sell, and get gaine,(Geneva) Jacques 4:13 A vous maintenant, qui dites: Aujourd'hui ou demain nous irons dans telle ville, nous y passerons une année, nous trafiquerons, et nous gagnerons!(FR) הוֹי הָאוֹמְרִים נֵלְכָה לָּנוּ הַיוֹם אוֹ לְמָחָר לָעִיר הַהִיא וְנִסְחַר שָׁם שָׁנָה אַחַת וְנַעֲשֶׂה לָּנוּ חָיִל׃ יג James Jas 4:13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit."(nasb) ======= James 4:14 ============ Jam 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.(KJV) James 4:14 (And yet ye cannot tell what shalbe to morowe. For what is your life? It is euen a vapour that appeareth for a litle time, and afterward vanisheth away)(Geneva) Jacques 4:14 Vous qui ne savez pas ce qui arrivera demain! car, qu'est-ce que votre vie? Vous êtes une vapeur qui paraît pour un peu de temps, et qui ensuite disparaît.(FR) וְאַתֶּם לֹא תֵדְעוּן מַה־יֵּלֵד יוֹם מָחָר כִּי מֶה חַיֵּיכֶם קִיטוֹר יֵרָאֶה כְּרֶגַע וְאַחַר יַעֲלֶה בַתֹּהוּ׃ יד James Jas 4:14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
