Today's Date: ======= 2 Peter 3:1 ============ 2Pe 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:(KJV) 2 Peter 3:1 This seconde Epistle I nowe write vnto you, beloued, wherewith I stirre vp, and warne your pure mindes,(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:1 Voici déjà, bien-aimés, la seconde lettre que je vous écris. Dans l'une et dans l'autre je cherche à éveiller par des avertissements votre saine intelligence,(FR) זֹאת הִיא הָאִגֶּרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית יְדִידִים אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי כֹתֵב לָכֶם עַתָּה וּבִשְׁתֵּיהֶן בָּאתִי כְמַזְכִּיר לְעוֹרֵר אֶת־לִבְּכֶם הַטּוֹב׃ א Peter2 2Pe 3:1 This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:2 ============ 2Pe 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:(KJV) 2 Peter 3:2 To call to remembrance the wordes, which were tolde before of the holy Prophetes, and also the commaundement of vs the Apostles of the Lord and Sauiour.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:2 afin que vous vous souveniez des choses annoncées d'avance par les saints prophètes, et du commandement du Seigneur et Sauveur, enseigné par vos apôtres,(FR) לְמַעַן תִּזְכְּרוּ אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר נֶאֶמְרוּ מִקֶּדֶם בְּיַד הַנְּבִיאִים הַקְּדוֹשִׁים וְאֶת־מִצְוֹת אֲדֹנֵינוּ וּמוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ עַל־יְדֵי שְׁלִיחֵיכֶם׃ ב Peter2 2Pe 3:2 that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:3 ============ 2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,(KJV) 2 Peter 3:3 This first vnderstande, that there shall come in the last dayes, mockers, which wil walke after their lustes,(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:3 sachant avant tout que, dans les derniers jours, il viendra des moqueurs avec leurs railleries, marchant selon leurs propres convoitises,(FR) אַךְ דְּעוּ לָכֶם מֵרֹאשׁ כִּי בְאַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים יָבֹאוּ לֵצִים הַזֹּנִים אַחֲרֵי תַאֲוָתָם וְיִתְלוֹצְצוּ לֵאמֹר׃ ג Peter2 2Pe 3:3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:4 ============ 2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:4 And say, Where is the promes of his coming? For since the fathers died, all things continue alike from the beginning of the creation.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:4 et disant: Où est la promesse de son avènement? Car, depuis que les pères sont morts, tout demeure comme dès le commencement de la création.(FR) אַיֵּה הַבְטָחַת בֹּאוֹ כִּי מֵאָז שָׁכְבוּ הָאָבוֹת נִשְׁאַר כָּל־דָּבָר עַל־חֻקּוֹ כְּמוֹ מֵרֵאשִׁית הַבְּרִיאָה׃ ד Peter2 2Pe 3:4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."(nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:5 ============ 2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:(KJV) 2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly know not, that the heauens were of olde, and the earth that was of the water and by the water, by the word of God.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:5 Ils veulent ignorer, en effet, que des cieux existèrent autrefois par la parole de Dieu, de même qu'une terre tirée de l'eau et formée au moyen de l'eau,(FR) וְנֶעְלַם מֵעֵינֵיהֶם כְּאַוַּת נַפְשָׁם כִּי הַשָּׁמַיִם נַעֲשׂוּ מִקֶּדֶם וְעַל־יְדֵי הַמַּיִם נִבְרְאָה הָאָרֶץ מִן־הַמַּיִם בִּדְבַר אֱלֹהִים׃ ה Peter2 2Pe 3:5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:6 ============ 2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:(KJV) 2 Peter 3:6 Wherefore the worlde that then was, perished, ouerflowed with the water.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:6 et que par ces choses le monde d'alors périt, submergé par l'eau,(FR) וּבַמַּיִם אָז אָבְדָה הָאָרֶץ הַהִיא בַּעֲבֹר שׁוֹט שׁוֹטֵף עָלֶיהָ׃ ו Peter2 2Pe 3:6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:7 ============ 2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:7 But the heauens and earth, which are nowe, are kept by the same word in store, and reserued vnto fire against the day of condemnation, and of the destruction of vngodly men.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:7 tandis que, par la même parole, les cieux et la terre d'à présent sont gardés et réservés pour le feu, pour le jour du jugement et de la ruine des hommes impies.(FR) הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר לְפָנֵינוּ הַיּוֹם הוּכָנוּ בִדְבָרוֹ לְמַאֲכֹלֶת אֵשׁ וּשְׁמֻרִים הֵם לְיוֹם הַמִּשְׁפָּט בַּאֲבֹד רְשָׁעִים׃ ז Peter2 2Pe 3:7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:8 ============ 2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:8 Dearely beloued, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lorde, as a thousande yeeres, and a thousande yeeres as one day.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:8 Mais il est une chose, bien-aimés, que vous ne devez pas ignorer, c'est que, devant le Seigneur, un jour est comme mille ans, et mille ans sont comme un jour.(FR) אַךְ אַל־תִּשְׁכְּחוּ יְדִידִים זֹאת אֱחָת כִּי יוֹם אֶחָד בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָֹה כְּאֶלֶף שָׁנִים וְאֶלֶף שָׁנִים כְּיוֹם אֶחָד׃ ח Peter2 2Pe 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:9 ============ 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord of that promes is not slacke (as some men count slackenesse) but is pacient toward vs, and would haue no man to perish, but would all men to come to repentance.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:9 Le Seigneur ne tarde pas dans l'accomplissement de la promesse, comme quelques-uns le croient; mais il use de patience envers vous, ne voulant pas qu'aucun périsse, mais voulant que tous arrivent à la repentance.(FR) וְלֹא יְאַחֵר יְהוָֹה לְמַלֹּאת אֵת אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר נֶגֶד הַחשְׁבִים כִּי עָבַר הַמּוֹעֵד כִּי אִם־מַאֲרִיךְ לָנוּ אָף אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר לֹא יַחְפֹּץ בָּאֲבֹד אִישׁ כִּי אִם־בְּהָבִיא כָל־אָדָם אֶת־לִבּוֹ לִתְשׁוּבָה׃ ט Peter2 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:10 ============ 2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thiefe in the night, in the which the heauens shall passe away with a noyse, and the elements shall melt with heate, and the earth with the workes that are therein, shalbe burnt vp.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:10 Le jour du Seigneur viendra comme un voleur; en ce jour, les cieux passeront avec fracas, les éléments embrasés se dissoudront, et la terre avec les oeuvres qu'elle renferme sera consumée.(FR) אַךְ יוֹם יְהוָֹה כְּגַנָּב יָבֹא בַּלָּיְלָה אָז יַחְלְפוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם בְּרַעַשׁ גָּדוֹל הַיְסֹדוֹת יִמַסּוּ מִפְּנֵי הָאֵשׁ וְהָאָרֶץ וְהַמַּעֲשִׂים אֲשֶׁר בָּהּ יַעֲלוּ בְלַהַב׃ י Peter2 2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:11 ============ 2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,(KJV) 2 Peter 3:11 Seeing therefore that all these thinges must be dissolued, what maner persons ought ye to be in holy conuersation and godlinesse,(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:11 Puisque donc toutes ces choses doivent se dissoudre, quelles ne doivent pas être la sainteté de votre conduite et votre piété,(FR) וְעַתָּה אִם נְמֹגִים כָּל־אֵלֶה עַד־כַּמָּה עֲלֵיכֶם לְהִזָּהֵר לְהִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּקֹּדֶשׁ וּבְיִרְאַת אֱלֹהִים׃ יא Peter2 2Pe 3:11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:12 ============ 2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?(KJV) 2 Peter 3:12 Looking for, and hasting vnto the comming of that day of God, by the which the heauens being on fire, shall be dissolued, and the elements shall melt with heate?(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:12 tandis que vous attendez et hâtez l'avènement du jour de Dieu, à cause duquel les cieux enflammés se dissoudront et les éléments embrasés se fondront!(FR) וּלְחַכּוֹת וּלְצַפּוֹת לְבֹא יוֹם הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר יְלַהֵט אֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִם וְיַמְסֵם וְהַיְסֹדוֹת נְמֹגִים בָּאֵשׁ כֻּלָּם׃ יב Peter2 2Pe 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:13 ============ 2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:13 But wee looke for newe heauens, and a newe earth, according to his promes, wherein dwelleth righteousnesse.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:13 Mais nous attendons, selon sa promesse, de nouveaux cieux et une nouvelle terre, où la justice habitera.(FR) וַאֲנַחְנוּ כְּפִי אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּר־לָנוּ מְחַכִּים לְשָׁמַיִם חֲדָשִׁים וְאֶרֶץ חֲדָשָׁה אֲשֶׁר־צֶדֶק יָלִין בָּם׃ יג Peter2 2Pe 3:13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:14 ============ 2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloued, seeing that yee looke for such thinges, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blamelesse.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:14 C'est pourquoi, bien-aimés, en attendant ces choses, appliquez-vous à être trouvés par lui sans tache et irrépréhensibles dans la paix.(FR) עַל־כֵּן יְדִידִים בַּאֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם מְחַכִּים לָאֵלֶּה שִׁקְדוּ לְהִמָּצֵא לְפָנָיו זַכִּים וּתְמִימִים בְּשָׁלוֹם׃ יד Peter2 2Pe 3:14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:15 ============ 2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;(KJV) 2 Peter 3:15 And suppose that the long suffering of our Lord is saluation, euen as our beloued brother Paul according to the wisedome giuen vnto him wrote to you,(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:15 Croyez que la patience de notre Seigneur est votre salut, comme notre bien-aimé frère Paul vous l'a aussi écrit, selon la sagesse qui lui a été donnée.(FR) וְאֶת־אֹרֶךְ רוּחַ אֲדֹנֵינוּ תַּחְשְׁבוּ לִתְשׁוּעָה כַּאֲשֶׁר כָּתַב אֲלֵיכֶם גַּם־פּוֹלוֹס אָחִינוּ יְדִידֵנוּ כְּפִי חָכְמָתוֹ הַנְּתוּנָה לוֹ׃ טו Peter2 2Pe 3:15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:16 ============ 2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:16 As one, that in all his Epistles speaketh of these thinges: among the which some thinges are hard to be vnderstand, which they that are vnlearned and vnstable, wrest, as they do also other Scriptures vnto their owne destruction.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:16 C'est ce qu'il fait dans toutes les lettres, où il parle de ces choses, dans lesquelles il y a des points difficiles à comprendre, dont les personnes ignorantes et mal affermies tordent le sens, comme celui des autres Ecritures, pour leur propre ruine.(FR) וְכֵן כָּתַב בְּכָל־אִגְּרוֹתָיו בְּדַבְּרוֹ שָׁם עַל־אֵלֶּה וּבָהֵן יֵשׁ דְּבָרִים קָשִׁים מֵהָבִין אֲשֶׁר בֹּעֲרִים וּפֹחֲזִים יְסַלְּפוּם כַּאֲשֶׁר גַּם־יַעֲשׂוּ בְּיֶתֶר הַסְּפָרִים לְהַשְׁחִית נַפְשָׁם׃ טז Peter2 2Pe 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:17 ============ 2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.(KJV) 2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore beloued, seeing ye know these thinges before, beware, lest ye be also plucked away with the errour of the wicked, and fall from your owne stedfastnesse.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:17 Vous donc, bien-aimés, qui êtes avertis, mettez-vous sur vos gardes, de peur qu'entraînés par l'égarement des impies, vous ne veniez à déchoir de votre fermeté.(FR) וְאַתֶּם יְדִידִים אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר יְדַעְתֶּם כָּל־זֹאת מֵרֹאשׁ הִשָּׁמְרוּ לָכֶם פֶּן־תָּתוּרוּ אַחֲרֵי תַעְתֻּעֵי בְנֵי־בְלִיַּעַל וּנְפַלְתֶּם מִמַּצַּבְכֶם הַנֶּאֱמָן׃ יז Peter2 2Pe 3:17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, (nasb) ======= 2 Peter 3:18 ============ 2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.(kjv) 2 Peter 3:18 But growe in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lorde and Sauiour Iesus Christ: to him be glory both now and for euermore. Amen.(Geneva) 2 Pierre 3:18 Mais croissez dans la grâce et dans la connaissance de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus-Christ. A lui soit la gloire, maintenant et pour l'éternité! To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
