(Hebrew) וַיְהִי בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וַיִּתְאַסְּפוּ אֵלָיו עַם־רָב וְלֹא הָיָה לָהֶם כָּל־אֹכֶל לְמַלֵּא לְנַפְשָׁם וַיִּקְרָא יֵשׁוּעַ אֶל־תַּלְמִידָיו וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם׃ א Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:1 In those days, when there was again a large crowd and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:2---- (Hebrew) מָלֵאתִי רַחֲמִים עַל־הָעָם כִּי עָמְדוּ עִמָּדִי זֶה שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וְאֵין לָהֶם מַה־לֶּאֱכֹל׃ ב Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:2 "I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:3---- (Hebrew) וְכִי אֲשַׁלְּחֵם רְעֵבִים לְבָתֵּיהֶם יִתְעַלְּפוּ בַּדָּרֶךְ וְיֵשׁ מֵהֶם אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ מִמֶּרְחָק׃ ג Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:3 If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:4---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעֲנוּ אֹתוֹ תַלְמִידָיו מֵאַיִן תַּשִּׂיג יַד־אִישׁ בַּמִּדְבָּר לְהַשְׂבִּיעַ אֶת־אֵלֶּה לָחֶם׃ ד Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:4 And His disciples answered Him, "Where will anyone be able to find enough bread here in this desolate place to satisfy these people?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:5---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשְׁאַל אֹתָם לֵאמֹר כַּמָּה לָכֶם לֶחֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ שִׁבְעָה׃ ה Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:5 And He was asking them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:6---- (Hebrew) וַיְצַו אֶת־הֲמוֹן הָעָם לָשֶׁבֶת עַל־הָאָרֶץ וַיִקַּח אֶת־שִׁבְעַת הַלֶּחֶם וַיְבָרֶךְ וַיִּפְרֹס וַיִּתֵּן אֶל־תַּלְמִידָיו לָשׂוּם לִפְנֵיהֶם וַיָּשִׂמוּ לִפְנֵי הֲמוֹן הָעָם׃ ו Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:6 And He directed the people to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to serve to them, and they served them to the people.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:7---- (Hebrew) וּמְעַט דָּגִים קְטַנִּים הָיוּ לָהֶם אֲשֶׁר בֵּרַךְ עֲלֵיהֶם וַיֹּאמֶר לָשׂוּם לִפְנֵיהֶם גַּם־אֶת־אֵלֶּה׃ ז Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:7 They also had a few small fish; and after He had blessed them, He ordered these to be served as well.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:8---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאכְלוּ וַיִּשְׂבָּעוּ וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־הַפְּתוֹתִים הַנּוֹתָרִים שִׁבְעָה סַלִּים׃ ח Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:8 And they ate and were satisfied; and they picked up seven large baskets full of what was left over of the broken pieces.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:9---- (Hebrew) וְהֵם הָיוּ כְּאַרְבַּעַת אַלְפֵי־אִישׁ וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן שִׁלַּח אֶת־הָעָם׃ ט Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:9 About four thousand were there; and He sent them away.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:10---- (Hebrew) אָז יָרַד בָּאֳנִיָּה עִם־תַּלְמִידָיו וַיָּבֹא שְׂדֵה דַלְמָנוּתָא׃ י Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:10 And immediately He entered the boat with His disciples and came to the district of Dalmanutha.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:11---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּצְאוּ הַפְּרוּשִׁים וַיָּחֵלּוּ לְהִתְוַכַּח אִתּוֹ וּלְבַעֲבוּר נַסּוֹתוֹ שָׁאֲלוּ לָתֵת לָהֶם אוֹת מִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃ יא Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:11 The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, to test Him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:12---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּאָנַח בִּמְרִירוּת רוּחוֹ לֵאמֹר מַדּוּעַ יְבַקֵּשׁ הַדּוֹר הַזֶּה אוֹת אָמֵן אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם כִּי אוֹת לֹא יִנָּתֵן לַדּוֹר הַזֶּה׃ יב Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:12 Sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, "Why does this generation seek for a sign? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:16---- (Hebrew) וַיְהִי הֵם נְדוֹנִים אִישׁ אֶת־אָחִיו לֵאמֹר עַל כִּי־לֶחֶם אֵין אִתָּנוּ׃ טז Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:16 They began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:17---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּדַע יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם לָמָּה־זֶּה אַתֶּם נְדוֹנִים עַל כִּי־אֵין לָכֶם לָחֶם הֲכִי לֹא תָבִינוּ וְלֹא תַשְׂכִּילוּ וְלִבְּכֶם כָּבֵד עַד־כֹּה׃ יז Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:17 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:18---- (Hebrew) עֵינַיִם לָכֶם וְלֹא תִרְאוּ וְאָזְנַיִם לָכֶם וְלֹא תַקְשִׁיבוּ וְלֹא תִזְכֹּרוּ׃ יח Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:19---- (Hebrew) כַּאֲשֶׁר פָּרַסְתִּי אֶת־חֲמֵשֶׁת הַלֶּחֶם לַחֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים כַּמָּה סַלִּים מְלֵאִים פְּתוֹתִים נְשָׂאתֶם מֵהֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר׃ יט Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:19 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?" They said to Him, "Twelve."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:20---- (Hebrew) וּמִן־הַשֶּׁבַע לְאַרְבַּעַת הָאֲלָפִים כַּמָּה סַלִּים מְלֵאִים פְּתוֹתִים נְשָׂאתֶם מֵהֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו שִׁבְעָה׃ כ Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:20 "When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?" And they said to Him, "Seven."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:21---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הֲכִי עוֹד לֹא תַשְׂכִּילוּ עַד־כֹּה׃ כא Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:21 And He was saying to them, "Do you not yet understand?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:22---- (Hebrew) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־בֵּית צָיְדָה וַיָּבִיאוּ אֵלָיו אִישׁ עִוֵּר וַיְבַקְשֻׁהוּ לְתִתּוֹ לָגַעַת בּוֹ׃ כב Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:22 And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:23---- (Hebrew) וַיַּחֲזֵק בְּיַד הָעִוֵּר וַיּוֹצִיאֵהוּ אֶל־מִחוּץ לָעִיר וַיָּרָק בְּעֵינָיו וְאֶת־יָדָיו שָׂם עָלָיו וַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּ אִם־הוּא רֹאֶה מְאוּמָה׃ כג Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:23 Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, "Do you see anything?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:24---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשָּׂא אֶת־עֵינָיו וַיֹּאמַר אֲנִי רֹאֶה אֲנָשִׁים כִּי אֲנִי רֹאֶה אֹתָם הֹלְכִים כְּמוֹ־עֵצִים׃ כד Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:24 And he looked up and said, "I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:25---- (Hebrew) וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת־יָדָיו שֵׁנִית עַל־עֵינָיו וַיִּפְקַח אֹתָן אָז הִתְרַפֵּא וַיַּרְא כָּל־דָּבָר אֶל־נָכוֹן׃ כה Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:26---- (Hebrew) וַיְשַׁלְּחֵהוּ אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ וַיֹּאמַר אַל־תָּבֹא בָּעִיר וְאַל לְהַגִּיד לְאִישׁ דָּבָר בָּעִיר׃ כו Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:26 And He sent him to his home, saying, "Do not even enter the village."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:27---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּצֵא יֵשׁוּעַ מִשָּׁם וַיֵּלֶךְ עִם־תַּלְמִידָיו אֶל־הַכְּפָרִים בְּקִיסְרִין אֲשֶׁר לְפִילִפּוֹס וַיְהִי בַּדֶּרֶךְ וַיִּשְׁאַל אֹתָם לֵאמֹר מָה־אֹמְרִים הָאֲנָשִׁים עָלַי מִי־אָנִי׃ כז Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:27 Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, "Who do people say that I am?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:28---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעֲנוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ יוֹחָנָן הַמְטַבֵּל וְיֵשׁ אֹמְרִים אֵלִיָּהוּ וַאֲחֵרִים אֹמְרִים אֶחָד מִן־הַנְּבִיאִים׃ כח Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:28 They told Him, saying, "John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Mark 8:29---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשְׁאַל אֹתָם לֵאמֹר וְאַתֶּם מַה־תֹּאמְרוּ עָלַי מִי־אָנִי וַיַּעַן פֶּטְרוֹס וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אַתָּה הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ כט Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar 8:29 And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?"
