(Hebrew) בָּעֵת הַהִיא בָּאוּ אֲנָשִׁים וַיַּגִּידוּ לוֹ אֶת־דְּבַר הַגְּלִילִים אֲשֶׁר פִּילָטוֹס מָסַךְ דָּמָם עַל־זִבְחֵיהֶם׃ א Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:1 Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:2---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הַאִם תַּחְשְׁבוּ כִּי־הַגְּלִילִים הָהֵם הָיוּ חַטָּאִים מִכָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הַגָּלִיל אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר־נָשְׂאוּ עֹנֶשׁ זֶה׃ ב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:3---- (Hebrew) אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם לֹא־כֵן וְאִם אַתֶּם לֹא תָשׁוּבוּ כֻּלְכֶם כְּמוֹ־כֵן תֹּאבֵדוּ׃ ג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:4---- (Hebrew) אוֹ שְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר הָאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר נָפַל עֲלֵיהֶם הַמִּגְדָּל בִּשְׁלֹּחַ וָמֵתוּ הֲתַחְשְׁבוּ כִּי־אֲשֵׁמִים הָיוּ מִכָּל־ישְׁבֵי יְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃ ד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:4 Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:5---- (Hebrew) אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם לֹא־כֵן וְאִם אַתֶּם לֹא תָשׁוּבוּ כֻּלְּכֶם כְּמוֹ־כֵן תֹּאבֵדוּ׃ ה Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:6---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשָׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אִישׁ אֶחָד הָיָה אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ תְאֵנָה נְטוּעָה בְכַרְמוֹ וַיָּבֹא לְבַקֵּשׁ אֶת־פִּרְיָהּ וְלֹא מָצָא׃ ו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:6 And He began telling this parable. "A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:7---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הַכֹּרֵם הִנֵּה־זֶה שָׁלשׁ שָׁנִים בָּאתִי אֶל־הַתְּאֵנָה הַזֹּאת לְבַקֵּשׁ אֶת־פִּרְיָהּ וְלֹא מָצָאתִי כְּרֹת אֹתָהּ כִּי לָמָּה־זֶּה תַשְׁחִית אֶת־אַדְמָתִי׃ ז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:7 And he said to the vineyard-keeper, 'Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:8---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֲדֹנִי הַנַּח לָהּ עוֹד הַשָּׁנָה הַזֹּאת עַד כִּי־אֶעְדֹּר וְאֶתֵּן דֹּמֶן מִסָּבִיב לָהּ׃ ח Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:8 And he answered and said to him, 'Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:9---- (Hebrew) אוּלַי תַּעֲשֶׂה פְרִי בַּשָּׁנָה הַבָּאָה וְאִם־אַיִן תִּכְרֹת אֹתָהּ׃ ט Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:9 and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.'"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:10---- (Hebrew) וַיְהִי בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת וַיְלַמֵּד בְּאַחַד בָּתֵּי־הַכְּנֵסֶת׃ י Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:10 And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:11---- (Hebrew) וְשָׁם אִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר כִּהֲתָה רוּחָהּ וַתֶּחֱלַשׁ זֶה שְׁמֹנֶה עֶשְׂרֶה שָׁנָה וְהִיא כְפוּפָה וְאֵין סוֹמֵךְ וְאֵין זֹקֵף לָהּ׃ יא Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:11 And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:12---- (Hebrew) וַיַּרְא אֹתָהּ יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּקְרָא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלֶיהָ אִשָּׁה הִנֵּה חֻלַּצְתְּ מֵחָלְיֵךְ׃ יב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:12 When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your sickness."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:13---- (Hebrew) וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת־יָדָיו עָלֶיהָ וַתְּמַהֵר וַתַּעֲמֹד בִּמְלֹא קוֹמָתָה וַתִּתֵּן כָּבוֹד לֵאלֹהִים׃ יג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:13 And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:14---- (Hebrew) אַךְ רֹאשׁ בֵּית־הַכְּנֵסֶת חָרָה־לוֹ כִּי רִפָּא יֵשׁוּעַ בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הָעָם שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֵּעָשֶׂה כָל־מְלָאכָה בָּאֵלֶּה בֹּאוּ וְהֵרָפְאוּ וְלֹא בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת׃ יד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:14 But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:15---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן הָאָדוֹן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו חֲנֵפִים הֲלֹא אִישׁ אִישׁ מִכֶּם יַתִּיר אֶת־שׁוֹרוֹ וְאֶת חֲמֹרוֹ מִן־הָאֵבוּס וְיוֹלִיכֶנּוּ לְהַשְׁקֹתוֹ בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת׃ טו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:15 But the Lord answered him and said, "You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:16---- (Hebrew) וּבַת־אַבְרָהָם זֹאת אֲשֶׁר אָסַר אֹתָהּ הַשָּׂטָן זֶה שְׁמֹנֶה עֶשְׂרֶה שָׁנָה לֹא תֻתַּר מֵאֲסוּרֶיהָ בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת׃ טז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:16 And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:17---- (Hebrew) וּמִדֵּי דַבְּרוֹ כָזֹאת חָפְרוּ כָּל־מִתְקוֹמְמָיו וַיִּשְׂמַח כָּל־הָעָם עַל־כָּל־הַגְּדֹלוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשְׂתָה יָדוֹ׃ יז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:17 As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:18---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר מַה־דְּמוּת לְמַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים וּמָה אַשְׁוֶה לָהּ׃ יח Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:18 So He was saying, "What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:19---- (Hebrew) דִּמְיוֹנָהּ כְּגַרְגַּר חַרְדָּל אֲשֶׁר לָקַח אִישׁ וַיִּתְּנֵהוּ בְגַנּוֹ וַיִּצְמַח וַיְהִי לְעֵץ גָּדוֹל עַד־אֲשֶׁר עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם קִנְּנוּ בַּעֲנָפָיו׃ יט Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his own garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:20---- (Hebrew) וַיּוֹסֶף וַיֹּאמַר מַה־דְּמוּת לְמַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים׃ כ Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:20 And again He said, "To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:21---- (Hebrew) דִּמְיוֹנָהּ כִּשְׂאֹר אֲשֶׁר לָקְחָה אִשָּׁה וַתָּלָשׁ בִּשְׁלשׁ סְאִים קֶמַח עַד־אֲשֶׁר חָמְצָה כָּל־הָעֲרִיסָה׃ כא Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:22---- (Hebrew) וַיַעֲבֹר דֶּרֶךְ עָרִים וּכְפָרִים עָבוֹר וְלַמֵּד וְנָסוֹעַ יְרוּשָׁלָיְמָה׃ כב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:22 And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:23---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּ אִישׁ לֵאמֹר אֲדֹנִי הֲרַק מְתֵי מִסְפָּר יִוָּשֵׁעוּ׃ כג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:23 And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:24---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֵר אֲלֵיהֶם הִתְאַמְּצוּ לָבֹא בַּשַּׁעַר הַצָּר כִּי אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם רַבִּים יְבַקְשׁוּ וְלֹא יוּכְלוּ לָבֹא׃ כד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:24 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:25---- (Hebrew) בָּעֵת הַהִיא אֲשֶׁר יָקוּם אֲדֹנֵי הַבַּיִת וְסָגַר אֶת־הַדָּלֶת וְאַתֶּם תָּבֹאוּ וְתַעַמְדוּ מִחוּץ מִתְדַּפְּקִים עַל־הַדֶּלֶת לֵאמֹר אֲדֹנֵינוּ פְּתַח־לָנוּ וְהוּא יַעֲנֶה וְיֹאמַר לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם אֵי־מִזֶּה אַתֶּם׃ כה Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:26---- (Hebrew) אָז תָּחֵלּוּ לֵאמֹר הֲלֹא אָכַלְנוּ וְשָׁתִינוּ לְפָנֶיךָ וּבִרְחֹבֹתֵינוּ הוֹרֵיתָ לָּנוּ תּוֹרָה׃ כו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:26 Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:27---- (Hebrew) וְהוּא יַעֲנֶה הֵן אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֵי־מִזֶּה אַתֶּם סוּרוּ מִמֶּנִּי כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃ כז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:27 and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 13:34---- (Hebrew) יְרוּשָׁלַיִם יְרוּשָׁלַיִם הַהֹרֶגֶת אֶת־הַנְּבִיאִים וְהַסֹּקֶלֶת אֶת־הַשְּׁלוּחִים אֵלָיִךְ עַד־כַּמֶּה פְעָמִים חָפַצְתִּי לְקַבֵּץ אֶת־בָּנַיִךְ כַּאֲשֶׁר תְּקַבֵּץ תַּרְנְגֹלֶת אֶת־אֶפְרֹחֶיהָ תַּחַת כְּנָפֶיהָ וְלֹא אֲבִיתֶם׃ לד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her!
