tax collectors and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:2---- (Hebrew) וַיִּלֹּנוּ הַפְּרוּשִׁים וְהַסּוֹפְרִים לֵאמֹר הָאִישׁ הַלָּזֶה פְּנֵי חַטָּאִים הוּא נֹשֵׂא וְאֹכֵל עִמָּהֶם׃ ב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:2 Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:3---- (Hebrew) וַיִּשָּׂא אֲלֵיהֶם אֶת־הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה לֵאמֹר׃ ג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:3 So He told them this parable, saying,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:4---- (Hebrew) מִי אִישׁ מִכֶּם אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ מֵאָה צֹאן וְאָבְדָה לּוֹ כִּבְשָׂה אַחַת מֵהֶן וְהוּא לֹא יַעֲזֹב אֶת־הַתִּשְׁעִים וָתֵשַׁע בַּמִּדְבָּר לָלֶכֶת וּלְבַקֵּשׁ עַד כִּי־יִמְצָא אֶת־הָאֹבָדֶת׃ ד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:4 "What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:5---- (Hebrew) וְהָיָה כִּי יִמְצָאֶנָּה יָשִׂישׂ עָלֶיהָ יִשָּׂאֶנָּה בַכָּתֵף׃ ה Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:5 When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:6---- (Hebrew) וְאֶל־בֵּיתוֹ יָבֹא וְיִקְרָא לְאֹהֲבָיו וְלִשְׁכֵנָיו לֵאמֹר שִׂישׂוּ אִתִּי כִּי מָצָאתִי אֶת־אֲבֵדָתִי אֶת־הַכִּבְשָׂה הַזֹּאת׃ ו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:7---- (Hebrew) וַאֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם כָּכָה תִּרֶב הַשִּׂמְחָה בַּשָּׁמַיִם עַל־חֹטֶא אֶחָד הַשָּׁב מֵחֲטָאָיו מֵעַל־תִּשְׁעִים וְתִשְׁעָה אַנְשֵׁי צֶדֶק אֲשֶׁר אֵין לָהֶם דָּבָר לְהִנָּחֵם עָלָיו׃ ז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:7 I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:8---- (Hebrew) אוֹ מִי הָאִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר־לָהּ עֲשָׂרָה כֶסֶף וְאֶחָד מֵהֶם נָפַל וְנִסְתָּר מֵעֵינֶיהָ וְהִיא לֹא תַדְלִיק נֵר וּתְפַנֶּה אֶת־הַבַּיִת וּתְחַפֵּשׂ בְּחֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ עַד כִּי־תִמְצָאֶנּוּ׃ ח Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:8 "Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:9---- (Hebrew) וְהָיָה כִּי־תִמְצָא אֹתוֹ תִּקְרָא לְרֵעוֹתֶיהָ וְלִשְׁכֵנוֹתֶיהָ לֵאמֹר שְׂמַחְנָה בְּשִׂמְחָתִי כִּי מָצָאתִי אֶת־אֲבֵדָתִי אֶת הַכָּסֶף׃ ט Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:9 When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:10---- (Hebrew) וַאֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם כָּכָה תִּהְיֶה שִׂמְחָה לִפְנֵי מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים עַל־חֹטֵא אֶחָד הַשָּׁב מֵחֲטָאָיו׃ י Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:11---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּסֶף וַיֹּאמַר אִישׁ אֶחָד הָיוּ לוֹ שְׁנֵי ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:12---- (Hebrew) וְהַקָּטֹן מֵהֶם אָמַר אֶל־אָבִיו תְּנָה־לִּי אָבִי חֵלֶק הַנַחֲלָה אֲשֶׁר יִפֹּל לְחֶבְלִי וַיְחַלֵּק לָהֶם אֶת־נְכָסָיו׃ יב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:12 The younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.' So he divided his wealth between them.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:13---- (Hebrew) וְאַחֲרֵי יָמִים אֲחָדִים אָסַף הַבֵּן הַקָּטֹן אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר לוֹ וַיִּסַּע אֶל־אֶרֶץ רְחוֹקָה וַיְהִי שָׁם לְזוֹלֵל עַד אֲשֶׁר פִּזַּר כָּל־כַּסְפּוֹ׃ יג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:13 And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:14---- (Hebrew) וְאַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר בִּלַּע כָּל־אֲשֶׁר הָיָה לוֹ בָּא רָעָב גָּדוֹל בָּאָרֶץ הַהִיא וְהוּא הֵחֵל לִהְיוֹת חֲסַר־לָחֶם׃ יד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:14 Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:15---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּלֶךְ וַיִּסְתַּפַּח בְּאֶחָד מִיּשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ הַהִיא וַיִּשְׁלָחֵהוּ הַשָּׂדֶה לִרְעוֹת חֲזִירִים׃ טו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:16---- (Hebrew) וַיִּתְאַו לְמַלֵּא אֶת־כְּרֵשׂוֹ חֲרוּבִין מֵאֲשֶׁר יֹאכְלוּן הַחֲזִירִים וּפֹרֵשׂ אֵין לוֹ׃ טז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:16 And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:17---- (Hebrew) וַיָּשֶׁב אֶל־לִבּוֹ וַיֹּאמַר מָה־רַבּוּ הַשְּׂכִירִים תַּחַת יַד אָבִי אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם לֶחֶם דַּי וְהוֹתֵר וְאָנֹכִי מֵת פֹּה בָּרָעָב׃ יז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:17 But when he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger!(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:18---- (Hebrew) אָקוּם אֵלֵךְ אֶל־אָבִי וְאֹמַר אֵלָיו אָבִי חָטָאתִי גַּם־לַשָּׁמַיִם גַּם־לְפָנֶיךָ׃ יח Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:18 I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:19---- (Hebrew) קַלֹּתִי מֵהִקָּרֵא בִנְךָ עוֹד שִׂימֵנִי־נָא כְּאַחַד הַשְׂכִירִים בְּבֵיתֶךָ׃ יט Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men."'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:20---- (Hebrew) וַיָּקָם וַיָּבֹא אֶל־אָבִיו וְעוֹדֶנּוּ מֵרָחוֹק רָאָה אֹתוֹ אָבִיו וַיִּכָּמְרוּ רַחֲמָיו אֵלָיו וַיָּרָץ וַיִּפֹּל עַל־צַוָּארָיו וְיִּשַּׁק לוֹ׃ כ Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:20 So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:21---- (Hebrew) וְהַבֵּן עָנָה וְאָמַר אָבִי חָטָאתִי גַּם־לַשָּׁמַיִם גַּם־לְפָנֶיךָ קַלֹּתִי מֵהִקָּרֵא בִנְךָ עוֹד׃ כא Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:22---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָב אֶל־עֲבָדָיו מַהֲרוּ הָבִיאוּ וְהַלְבִּישֻׁהוּ אֶת־הַמְּעִיל הַטּוֹב וּתְנוּ טַבַּעַת עַל־יָדוֹ וּנְעָלִים לְרַגְלָיו׃ כב Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:22 But the father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:23---- (Hebrew) וְאֶת־עֵגֶל הַמַּרְבֵּק קְחוּ וּטְבָחוּ וְנֹאכַל וְנַעֲלֹזָה׃ כג Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:24---- (Hebrew) כִּי זֶה־בְּנִי מֵת הָיָה וְהִנֵּה הוּא חָי אֹבֵד וְהוּא נִמְצָא אִתָּנוּ וַיָּקוּמוּ כֻלָּם לְהִתְעַלֵּס׃ כד Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:25---- (Hebrew) וּבְנוֹ הַגָּדוֹל בָּא מִמְּלַאכְתּוֹ בַשָׂדֶה וַיִּקְרַב אֶל־הַבַּיִת וַיִּשְׁמַע קוֹל שִׁיר וּמָחוֹל׃ כה Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:25 "Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:26---- (Hebrew) וַיִּקְרָא אֶל־אַחַד הַנְּעָרִים וַיִּשְׁאַל מַה־זֹּאת׃ כו Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:26 And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:27---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו הֲלֹא אָחִיךָ בָּא וַיִּזְבַּח לוֹ אָבִיךָ אֶת־עֵגֶל הַמַּרְבֵּק אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר שָׁב אֵלָיו בְּשָׁלוֹם׃ כז Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:28---- (Hebrew) וַיִּחַר אַפּוֹ וְלֹא אָבָה לָבֹא הַבָּיְתָה וַיֵּצֵא אָבִיו וַיְדַבֵּר עַל־לִבּוֹ׃ כח Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:28 But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Luke 15:29---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־אָבִיו הִנֵּה זֶה שָׁנִים רַבּוֹת עֲבַדְתִּיךָ וּמֵעוֹדִי לֹא עָבַרְתִּי מִמִּצְוֹתֶיךָ וְעוֹד לֹא־נָתַתָּ לִי גְדִי מִן־הַצֹּאן לֶאֱכֹל וּלְהִתְעַלֵּס עִם־רֵעָי׃ כט Luke -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luk 15:29 But he answered and said to his father, 'Look!
