Today's Date: ======= Leviticus 21:1 ============ Lev 21:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them:' No one shall defile himself for a dead person among his people,(nasb) Lev 21:1 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων εἰπὸν τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ααρων καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ἐν ταῖς ψυχαῖς οὐ μιανθήσονται ἐν τῷ ἔθνει αὐτῶν (lxx) Lev 21:1 Dixit quoque Dominus ad Moysen: Loquere ad sacerdotes filios Aaron, et dices ad eos: Ne contaminetur sacerdos in mortibus civium suorum,(vulgate) Lev 21:1 Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Sage den Priestern, Aarons Söhnen, und sprich zu ihnen: Ein Priester soll sich an keinem Toten seines Volkes verunreinigen,(dhs) Lev 21:1 And the Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: 'None shall defile himself for the dead among his people,(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:2 ============ Lev 21:2 except for his relatives who are nearest to him, his mother and his father and his son and his daughter and his brother,(nasb) Lev 21:2 ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐν τῷ οἰκείῳ τῷ ἔγγιστα αὐτῶν ἐπὶ πατρὶ καὶ μητρὶ καὶ υἱοῖς καὶ θυγατράσιν ἐπ᾽ ἀδελφῷ (lxx) Lev 21:2 nisi tantum in consanguineis, ac propinquis, id est, super patre et matre, et filio, et filia, fratre quoque,(vulgate) Lev 21:2 außer an seinem Blutsfreunde, der ihm am nächsten angehört, als: an seiner Mutter, an seinem Vater, an seinem Sohne, an seiner Tochter, an seinem Bruder(dhs) Lev 21:2 except for his relatives who are nearest to him: his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, and his brother;(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:3 ============ Lev 21:3 also for his virgin sister, who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.(nasb) Lev 21:3 καὶ ἐπ᾽ ἀδελφῇ παρθένῳ τῇ ἐγγιζούσῃ αὐτῷ τῇ μὴ ἐκδεδομένῃ ἀνδρί ἐπὶ τούτοις μιανθήσεται (lxx) Lev 21:3 et sorore virgine quæ non est nupta viro:(vulgate) Lev 21:3 und an seiner Schwester, die noch eine Jungfrau und noch bei ihm ist und keines Mannes Weib gewesen ist; an der mag er sich verunreinigen.(dhs) Lev 21:3 also his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband, for her he may defile himself.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:4 ============ Lev 21:4 He shall not defile himself as a relative by marriage among his people, and so profane himself.(nasb) Lev 21:4 οὐ μιανθήσεται ἐξάπινα ἐν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ εἰς βεβήλωσιν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Lev 21:4 sed nec in principe populi sui contaminabitur.(vulgate) Lev 21:4 Sonst soll er sich nicht verunreinigen an irgend einem, der ihm zugehört unter seinem Volk, daß er sich entheilige.(dhs) Lev 21:4 Otherwise he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:5 ============ Lev 21:5 They shall not make any baldness on their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts in their flesh.(nasb) Lev 21:5 καὶ φαλάκρωμα οὐ ξυρηθήσεσθε τὴν κεφαλὴν ἐπὶ νεκρῷ καὶ τὴν ὄψιν τοῦ πώγωνος οὐ ξυρήσονται καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς σάρκας αὐτῶν οὐ κατατεμοῦσιν ἐντομίδας (lxx) Lev 21:5 Non radent caput, nec barbam, neque in carnibus suis facient incisuras.(vulgate) Lev 21:5 Sie sollen auch keine Platte machen auf ihrem Haupt noch ihren Bart abscheren und an ihrem Leib kein Mal stechen.(dhs) Lev 21:5 'They shall not make any bald place on their heads, nor shall they shave the edges of their beards nor make any cuttings in their flesh.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:6 ============ Lev 21:6 They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they present the offerings by fire to the Lord, the food of their God; so they shall be holy.(nasb) Lev 21:6 ἅγιοι ἔσονται τῷ θεῷ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσουσιν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν τὰς γὰρ θυσίας κυρίου δῶρα τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν αὐτοὶ προσφέρουσιν καὶ ἔσονται ἅγιοι (lxx) Lev 21:6 Sancti erunt Deo suo, et non polluent nomen ejus: incensum enim Domini, et panes Dei sui offerunt, et ideo sancti erunt.(vulgate) Lev 21:6 Sie sollen ihrem Gott heilig sein und nicht entheiligen den Namen ihres Gottes. Denn sie opfern des HERRN Opfer, das Brot ihres Gottes; darum sollen sie heilig sein.(dhs) Lev 21:6 They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:7 ============ Lev 21:7 They shall not take a woman who is profaned by harlotry, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.(nasb) Lev 21:7 γυναῖκα πόρνην καὶ βεβηλωμένην οὐ λήμψονται καὶ γυναῖκα ἐκβεβλημένην ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς αὐτῆς ἅγιός ἐστιν τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Lev 21:7 Scortum et vile prostibulum non ducent uxorem, nec eam quæ repudiata est a marito: quia consecrati sunt Deo suo,(vulgate) Lev 21:7 Sie sollen keine Hure nehmen noch eine Geschwächte oder die von ihrem Mann verstoßen ist; denn er ist heilig seinem Gott.(dhs) Lev 21:7 They shall not take a wife who is a harlot or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:8 ============ Lev 21:8 You shall consecrate him, therefore, for he offers the food of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the Lord, who sanctifies you, am holy.(nasb) Lev 21:8 καὶ ἁγιάσει αὐτόν τὰ δῶρα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν οὗτος προσφέρει ἅγιος ἔσται ὅτι ἅγιος ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ ἁγιάζων αὐτούς (lxx) Lev 21:8 et panes propositionis offerunt. She shall be burned with fire.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:10 ============ Lev 21:10 'The priest who is the highest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes;(nasb) Lev 21:10 καὶ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας ἀπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ τοῦ ἐπικεχυμένου ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν τοῦ ἐλαίου τοῦ χριστοῦ καὶ τετελειωμένου ἐνδύσασθαι τὰ ἱμάτια τὴν κεφαλὴν οὐκ ἀποκιδαρώσει καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια οὐ διαρρήξει (lxx) Lev 21:10 Pontifex, id est, sacerdos maximus inter fratres suos, super cujus caput fusum est unctionis oleum, et cujus manus in sacerdotio consecratæ sunt, vestitusque est sanctis vestibus, caput suum non discooperiet, vestimenta non scindet:(vulgate) Lev 21:10 Wer Hoherpriester ist unter seinen Brüdern, auf dessen Haupt das Salböl gegossen und dessen Hand gefüllt ist, daß er angezogen würde mit den Kleidern, der soll sein Haupt nicht entblößen und seine Kleider nicht zerreißen(dhs) Lev 21:10 'He who is the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes;(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:11 ============ Lev 21:11 nor shall he approach any dead person, nor defile himself even for his father or his mother;(nasb) Lev 21:11 καὶ ἐπὶ πάσῃ ψυχῇ τετελευτηκυίᾳ οὐκ εἰσελεύσεται ἐπὶ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἐπὶ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ οὐ μιανθήσεται (lxx) Lev 21:11 et ad omnem mortuum non ingredietur omnino: super patre quoque suo et matre non contaminabitur.(vulgate) Lev 21:11 und soll zu keinem Toten kommen und soll sich weder über Vater noch über Mutter verunreinigen.(dhs) Lev 21:11 nor shall he go near any dead body, nor defile himself for his father or his mother;(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:12 ============ Lev 21:12 nor shall he go out of the sanctuary nor profane the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him; I am the Lord.(nasb) Lev 21:12 καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων οὐκ ἐξελεύσεται καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσει τὸ ἡγιασμένον τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὸ ἅγιον ἔλαιον τὸ χριστὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἐγὼ κύριος (lxx) Lev 21:12 Nec egredietur de sanctis, ne polluat sanctuarium Domini, quia oleum sanctæ unctionis Dei sui super eum est. Ego Dominus.(vulgate) Lev 21:12 Aus dem Heiligtum soll er nicht gehen, daß er nicht entheilige das Heiligtum seines Gottes; denn die Weihe des Salböls seines Gottes ist auf ihm. Ich bin der HERR.(dhs) Lev 21:12 nor shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:13 ============ Lev 21:13 He shall take a wife in her virginity.(nasb) Lev 21:13 οὗτος γυναῖκα παρθένον ἐκ τοῦ γένους αὐτοῦ λήμψεται (lxx) Lev 21:13 Virginem ducet uxorem:(vulgate) Lev 21:13 Eine Jungfrau soll er zum Weibe nehmen;(dhs) Lev 21:13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:14 ============ Lev 21:14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or one who is profaned by harlotry, these he may not take; but rather he is to marry a virgin of his own people,(nasb) Lev 21:14 χήραν δὲ καὶ ἐκβεβλημένην καὶ βεβηλωμένην καὶ πόρνην ταύτας οὐ λήμψεται ἀλλ᾽ ἢ παρθένον ἐκ τοῦ γένους αὐτοῦ λήμψεται γυναῖκα (lxx) Lev 21:14 viduam autem et repudiatam, et sordidam, atque meretricem non accipiet, sed puellam de populo suo:(vulgate) Lev 21:14 aber keine Witwe noch Verstoßene noch Geschwächte noch Hure, sondern eine Jungfrau seines Volks soll er zum Weibe nehmen,(dhs) Lev 21:14 A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled woman or a harlot--these he shall not marry; but he shall take a virgin of his own people as wife.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:15 ============ Lev 21:15 so that he will not profane his offspring among his people; for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.'"(nasb) Lev 21:15 καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσει τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ ἁγιάζων αὐτόν (lxx) Lev 21:15 ne commisceat stirpem generis sui vulgo gentis suæ: quia ego Dominus, qui sanctifico eum.(vulgate) Lev 21:15 auf daß er nicht seinen Samen entheilige unter seinem Volk; denn ich bin der HERR, der ihn heiligt.(dhs) Lev 21:15 Nor shall he profane his posterity among his people, for I the Lord sanctify him.' He has a defect; he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:22 ============ Lev 21:22 He may eat the food of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy,(nasb) Lev 21:22 τὰ δῶρα τοῦ θεοῦ τὰ ἅγια τῶν ἁγίων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁγίων φάγεται (lxx) Lev 21:22 vescetur tamen panibus qui offeruntur in sanctuario,(vulgate) Lev 21:22 Doch soll er das Brot seines Gottes essen, von dem Heiligen und vom Hochheiligen.(dhs) Lev 21:22 He may eat the bread of his God, both the most holy and the holy;(nkjv) ======= Leviticus 21:23 ============ Lev 21:23 only he shall not go in to the veil or come near the altar because he has a defect, so that he will not profane My sanctuaries. For I am the Lord who sanctifies them.'"(nasb) Lev 21:23 πλὴν πρὸς τὸ καταπέτασμα οὐ προσελεύσεται καὶ πρὸς τὸ θυσιαστήριον οὐκ ἐγγιεῖ ὅτι μῶμον ἔχει καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσει τὸ ἅγιον τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ ἁγιάζων αὐτούς (lxx) Lev 21:23 ita dumtaxat, ut intra velum non ingrediatur, nec accedat ad altare, quia maculam habet, et contaminare non debet sanctuarium meum. Ego Dominus qui sanctifico eos.(vulgate) Lev 21:23 Aber zum Vorhang soll er nicht kommen noch zum Altar nahen, weil der Fehl an ihm ist, daß er nicht entheilige mein Heiligtum; denn ich bin der HERR, der sie heiligt.(dhs) Lev 21:23 only he shall not go near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a defect, lest he profane My sanctuaries; for I the Lord sanctify them.'
