Today's Date: ======= Numbers 32:1 ============ Num 32:1 Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had an exceedingly large number of livestock. So when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that it was indeed a place suitable for livestock,(nasb) Num 32:1 καὶ κτήνη πλῆθος ἦν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ πλῆθος σφόδρα καὶ εἶδον τὴν χώραν Ιαζηρ καὶ τὴν χώραν Γαλααδ καὶ ἦν ὁ τόπος τόπος κτήνεσιν (lxx) Num 32:1 Filii autem Ruben et Gad habebant pecora multa, et erat illis in jumentis infinita substantia. Cumque vidissent Jazer et Galaad aptas animalibus alendis terras,(vulgate) Num 32:1 Die Kinder Ruben und die Kinder Gad hatten sehr viel Vieh und sahen das Land Jaser und Gilead an als gute Stätte für ihr Vieh(dhs) Num 32:1 Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock; and when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that indeed the region was a place for livestock,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:2 ============ Num 32:2 the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben came and spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the priest and to the leaders of the congregation, saying,(nasb) Num 32:2 καὶ προσελθόντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ εἶπαν πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ πρὸς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῆς συναγωγῆς λέγοντες (lxx) Num 32:2 venerunt ad Moysen, et ad Elezarum sacerdotem, et principes multitudinis, atque dixerunt:(vulgate) Num 32:2 und kamen und sprachen zu Mose und zu dem Priester Eleasar und zu den Fürsten der Gemeinde:(dhs) Num 32:2 the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the leaders of the congregation, saying,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:3 ============ Num 32:3 "Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo and Beon,(nasb) Num 32:3 Αταρωθ καὶ Δαιβων καὶ Ιαζηρ καὶ Ναμβρα καὶ Εσεβων καὶ Ελεαλη καὶ Σεβαμα καὶ Ναβαυ καὶ Βαιαν (lxx) Num 32:3 Ataroth, et Dibon, et Jazer, et Nemra, Hesebon, et Eleale, et Saban, et Nebo, et Beon,(vulgate) Num 32:3 Das Land Ataroth, Dibon, Jaser, Nimra, Hesbon, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo und Beon,(dhs) Num 32:3 "Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Shebam, Nebo, and Beon,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:4 ============ Num 32:4 the land which the Lord conquered before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock."(nasb) Num 32:4 τὴν γῆν ἣν παρέδωκεν κύριος ἐνώπιον τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ γῆ κτηνοτρόφος ἐστίν καὶ τοῖς παισίν σου κτήνη ὑπάρχει (lxx) Num 32:4 terra, quam percussit Dominus in conspectu filiorum Israël, regio uberrima est ad pastum animalium: et nos servi tui habemus jumenta plurima,(vulgate) Num 32:4 das der HERR geschlagen hat vor der Gemeinde Israel, ist gut zur Weide; und wir, deine Knechte, haben Vieh.(dhs) Num 32:4 the country which the Lord defeated before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:5 ============ Num 32:5 They said, "If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession; do not take us across the Jordan."(nasb) Num 32:5 καὶ ἔλεγον εἰ εὕρομεν χάριν ἐνώπιόν σου δοθήτω ἡ γῆ αὕτη τοῖς οἰκέταις σου ἐν κατασχέσει καὶ μὴ διαβιβάσῃς ἡμᾶς τὸν Ιορδάνην (lxx) Num 32:5 precamurque si invenimus gratiam coram te, ut des nobis famulis tuis eam in possessionem, nec facias nos transire Jordanem.(vulgate) Num 32:5 Und sprachen weiter: Haben wir Gnade vor dir gefunden, so gib dies Land deinen Knechten zu eigen, so wollen wir nicht über den Jordan ziehen.(dhs) Num 32:5 Therefore they said, "If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:6 ============ Num 32:6 But Moses said to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, "Shall your brothers go to war while you yourselves sit here?(nasb) Num 32:6 καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ὑμῶν πορεύονται εἰς πόλεμον καὶ ὑμεῖς καθήσεσθε αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 32:6 Quibus respondit Moyses: Numquid fratres vestri ibunt ad pugnam, et vos hic sedebitis?(vulgate) Num 32:6 Mose sprach zu ihnen: Eure Brüder sollen in den Streit ziehen, und ihr wollt hier bleiben?(dhs) Num 32:6 And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: "Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here?(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:7 ============ Num 32:7 Now why are you discouraging the sons of Israel from crossing over into the land which the Lord has given them?(nasb) Num 32:7 καὶ ἵνα τί διαστρέφετε τὰς διανοίας τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ μὴ διαβῆναι εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Num 32:7 cur subvertitis mentes filiorum Israël, ne transire audeant in locum, quem eis daturus est Dominus?(vulgate) Num 32:7 Warum macht ihr der Kinder Israel Herzen abwendig, daß sie nicht hinüberziehen in das Land, das ihnen der HERR geben wird?(dhs) Num 32:7 Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:8 ============ Num 32:8 This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land.(nasb) Num 32:8 οὐχ οὕτως ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ὅτε ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς ἐκ Καδης Βαρνη κατανοῆσαι τὴν γῆν (lxx) Num 32:8 Nonne ita egerunt patres vestri, quando misi de Cadesbarne ad explorandam terram?(vulgate) Num 32:8 Also taten auch eure Väter, da ich sie aussandte von Kades-Barnea, das Land zu schauen;(dhs) Num 32:8 Thus your fathers did when I sent them away from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:9 ============ Num 32:9 For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the sons of Israel so that they did not go into the land which the Lord had given them.(nasb) Num 32:9 καὶ ἀνέβησαν Φάραγγα βότρυος καὶ κατενόησαν τὴν γῆν καὶ ἀπέστησαν τὴν καρδίαν τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ὅπως μὴ εἰσέλθωσιν εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἔδωκεν κύριος αὐτοῖς (lxx) Num 32:9 cumque venissent usque ad Vallem botri, lustrata omni regione, subverterunt cor filiorum Israël, ut non intrarent fines, quos eis Dominus dedit.(vulgate) Num 32:9 und da sie hinaufgekommen waren bis an den Bach Eskol und sahen das Land, machten sie das Herz der Kinder Israel abwendig, daß sie nicht in das Land wollten, das ihnen der HERR geben wollte.(dhs) Num 32:9 For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, so that they did not go into the land which the Lord had given them.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:10 ============ Num 32:10 So the Lord's anger burned in that day, and He swore, saying,(nasb) Num 32:10 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ὤμοσεν λέγων (lxx) Num 32:10 Qui iratus juravit, dicens:(vulgate) Num 32:10 Und des HERRN Zorn ergrimmte zur selben Zeit, und er schwur und sprach:(dhs) Num 32:10 So the Lord's anger was aroused on that day, and He swore an oath, saying,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:11 ============ Num 32:11 'None of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob; for they did not follow Me fully,(nasb) Num 32:11 εἰ ὄψονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὗτοι οἱ ἀναβάντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω οἱ ἐπιστάμενοι τὸ κακὸν καὶ τὸ ἀγαθὸν τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τῷ Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ καὶ Ιακωβ οὐ γὰρ συνεπηκολούθησαν ὀπίσω μου (lxx) Num 32:11 Si videbunt homines isti, qui ascenderunt ex Ægypto a viginti annis et supra, terram, quam sub juramento pollicitus sum Abraham, Isaac, et Jacob: et noluerunt sequi me,(vulgate) Num 32:11 Diese Leute, die aus Ägypten gezogen sind, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber sollen wahrlich das Land nicht sehen, das ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen habe, darum daß sie mir nicht treulich nachgefolgt sind;(dhs) Num 32:11 'Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:12 ============ Num 32:12 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have followed the Lord fully.'(nasb) Num 32:12 πλὴν Χαλεβ υἱὸς Ιεφοννη ὁ διακεχωρισμένος καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυη ὅτι συνεπηκολούθησεν ὀπίσω κυρίου (lxx) Num 32:12 præter Caleb filium Jephone Cenezæum, et Josue filium Nun: isti impleverunt voluntatem meam.(vulgate) Num 32:12 ausgenommen Kaleb, den Sohn Jephunnes, des Kenisiters, und Josua, den Sohn Nuns; denn sie sind dem HERRN treulich nachgefolgt.(dhs) Num 32:12 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the Lord.'(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:13 ============ Num 32:13 So the Lord's anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the Lord was destroyed.(nasb) Num 32:13 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ κατερρόμβευσεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἕως ἐξανηλώθη πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ οἱ ποιοῦντες τὰ πονηρὰ ἔναντι κυρίου (lxx) Num 32:13 Iratusque Dominus adversum Israël, circumduxit eum per desertum quadraginta annis, donec consumeretur universa generatio, quæ fecerat malum in conspectu ejus.(vulgate) Num 32:13 Also ergrimmte des HERRN Zorn über Israel, und er ließ sie hin und her in der Wüste ziehen vierzig Jahre, bis daß ein Ende ward all des Geschlechts, das übel getan hatte vor dem HERRN.(dhs) Num 32:13 So the Lord's anger was aroused against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:14 ============ Num 32:14 Now behold, you have risen up in your fathers' place, a brood of sinful men, to add still more to the burning anger of the Lord against Israel.(nasb) Num 32:14 ἰδοὺ ἀνέστητε ἀντὶ τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν σύστρεμμα ἀνθρώπων ἁμαρτωλῶν προσθεῖναι ἔτι ἐπὶ τὸν θυμὸν τῆς ὀργῆς κυρίου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (lxx) Num 32:14 Et ecce, inquit, vos surrexistis pro patribus vestris, incrementa et alumni hominum peccatorum, ut augeretis furorem Domini contra Israël.(vulgate) Num 32:14 Und siehe, ihr seid aufgetreten an eurer Väter Statt, daß der Sünder desto mehr seien und ihr auch den Zorn und Grimm des HERRN noch mehr macht wider Israel.(dhs) Num 32:14 And look! You have risen in your father's place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:15 ============ Num 32:15 For if you turn away from following Him, He will once more abandon them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all these people."(nasb) Num 32:15 ὅτι ἀποστραφήσεσθε ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ προσθεῖναι ἔτι καταλιπεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ἀνομήσετε εἰς ὅλην τὴν συναγωγὴν ταύτην (lxx) Num 32:15 Quod si nolueritis sequi eum, in solitudine populum derelinquet, et vos causa eritis necis omnium.(vulgate) Num 32:15 Denn wo ihr euch von ihm wendet, so wird er auch noch länger sie lassen in der Wüste, und ihr werdet dies Volk alles verderben.(dhs) Num 32:15 For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all these people."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:16 ============ Num 32:16 Then they came near to him and said, "We will build here sheepfolds for our livestock and cities for our little ones;(nasb) Num 32:16 καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ καὶ ἔλεγον ἐπαύλεις προβάτων οἰκοδομήσωμεν ὧδε τοῖς κτήνεσιν ἡμῶν καὶ πόλεις ταῖς ἀποσκευαῖς ἡμῶν (lxx) Num 32:16 At illi prope accedentes, dixerunt: Caulas ovium fabricabimus, et stabula jumentorum, parvulis quoque nostris urbes munitas:(vulgate) Num 32:16 Da traten sie herzu und sprachen: Wir wollen nur Schafhürden hier bauen für unser Vieh und Städte für unsere Kinder;(dhs) Num 32:16 Then they came near to him and said: "We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:17 ============ Num 32:17 but we ourselves will be armed ready to go before the sons of Israel, until we have brought them to their place, while our little ones live in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.(nasb) Num 32:17 καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐνοπλισάμενοι προφυλακὴ πρότεροι τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἕως ἂν ἀγάγωμεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν ἑαυτῶν τόπον καὶ κατοικήσει ἡ ἀποσκευὴ ἡμῶν ἐν πόλεσιν τετειχισμέναις διὰ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν (lxx) Num 32:17 nos autem ipsi armati et accincti pergemus ad prælium ante filios Israël, donec introducamus eos ad loca sua. Parvuli nostri, et quidquid habere possumus, erunt in urbibus muratis, propter habitatorum insidias.(vulgate) Num 32:17 wir aber wollen uns rüsten vornan vor den Kindern Israel her, bis daß wir sie bringen an ihren Ort. Unsre Kinder sollen in den verschlossenen Städten bleiben um der Einwohner willen des Landes.(dhs) Num 32:17 but we ourselves will be armed, ready to go before the children of Israel until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones will dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:18 ============ Num 32:18 We will not return to our homes until every one of the sons of Israel has possessed his inheritance.(nasb) Num 32:18 οὐ μὴ ἀποστραφῶμεν εἰς τὰς οἰκίας ἡμῶν ἕως ἂν καταμερισθῶσιν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 32:18 Non revertemur in domos nostras, usque dum possideant filii Israël hæreditatem suam:(vulgate) Num 32:18 Wir wollen nicht heimkehren, bis die Kinder Israel einnehmen ein jeglicher sein Erbe.(dhs) Num 32:18 We will not return to our homes until every one of the children of Israel has received his inheritance.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:19 ============ Num 32:19 For we will not have an inheritance with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this side of the Jordan toward the east."(nasb) Num 32:19 καὶ οὐκέτι κληρονομήσωμεν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἐπέκεινα ὅτι ἀπέχομεν τοὺς κλήρους ἡμῶν ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν ἀνατολαῖς (lxx) Num 32:19 nec quidquam quæremus trans Jordanem, quia jam habemus nostram possessionem in orientali ejus plaga.~(vulgate) Num 32:19 Denn wir wollen nicht mit ihnen erben jenseit des Jordans, sondern unser Erbe soll uns diesseit des Jordan gegen Morgen gefallen sein.(dhs) Num 32:19 For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this eastern side of the Jordan."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:20 ============ Num 32:20 So Moses said to them, "If you will do this, if you will arm yourselves before the Lord for the war,(nasb) Num 32:20 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Μωυσῆς ἐὰν ποιήσητε κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ἐὰν ἐξοπλίσησθε ἔναντι κυρίου εἰς πόλεμον (lxx) Num 32:20 Quibus Moyses ait: Si facitis quod promittitis, expediti pergite coram Domino ad pugnam:(vulgate) Num 32:20 Mose sprach zu Ihnen: Wenn ihr das tun wollt, daß ihr euch rüstet zum Streit vor dem HERRN,(dhs) Num 32:20 Then Moses said to them: "If you do this thing, if you arm yourselves before the Lord for the war,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:21 ============ Num 32:21 and all of you armed men cross over the Jordan before the Lord until He has driven His enemies out from before Him,(nasb) Num 32:21 καὶ παρελεύσεται ὑμῶν πᾶς ὁπλίτης τὸν Ιορδάνην ἔναντι κυρίου ἕως ἂν ἐκτριβῇ ὁ ἐχθρὸς αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 32:21 et omnis vir bellator armatus Jordanem transeat, donec subvertat Dominus inimicos suos,(vulgate) Num 32:21 so zieht über den Jordan vor dem HERRN, wer unter euch gerüstet ist, bis daß er seine Feinde austreibe von seinem Angesicht(dhs) Num 32:21 and all your armed men cross over the Jordan before the Lord until He has driven out His enemies from before Him,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:22 ============ Num 32:22 and the land is subdued before the Lord, then afterward you shall return and be free of obligation toward the Lord and toward Israel, and this land shall be yours for a possession before the Lord.(nasb) Num 32:22 καὶ κατακυριευθῇ ἡ γῆ ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἀποστραφήσεσθε καὶ ἔσεσθε ἀθῷοι ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσται ἡ γῆ αὕτη ὑμῖν ἐν κατασχέσει ἔναντι κυρίου (lxx) Num 32:22 et subjiciatur ei omnis terra: tunc eritis inculpabiles apud Dominum et apud Israël, et obtinebitis regiones, quas vultis, coram Domino.(vulgate) Num 32:22 und das Land untertan werde dem HERRN; darnach sollt ihr umwenden und unschuldig sein vor dem HERRN und vor Israel und sollt dies Land also haben zu eigen vor dem HERRN.(dhs) Num 32:22 and the land is subdued before the Lord, then afterward you may return and be blameless before the Lord and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:23 ============ Num 32:23 But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.(nasb) Num 32:23 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ποιήσητε οὕτως ἁμαρτήσεσθε ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ γνώσεσθε τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ὑμῶν ὅταν ὑμᾶς καταλάβῃ τὰ κακά (lxx) Num 32:23 Sin autem quod dicitis, non feceritis, nulli dubium est quin peccetis in Deum: et scitote quoniam peccatum vestrum apprehendet vos.(vulgate) Num 32:23 Wo ihr aber nicht also tun wollt, siehe, so werdet ihr euch an dem HERRN versündigen und werdet eurer Sünde innewerden, wenn sie euch finden wird.(dhs) Num 32:23 But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:24 ============ Num 32:24 Build yourselves cities for your little ones, and sheepfolds for your sheep, and do what you have promised."(nasb) Num 32:24 καὶ οἰκοδομήσετε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς πόλεις τῇ ἀποσκευῇ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπαύλεις τοῖς κτήνεσιν ὑμῶν καὶ τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν ποιήσετε (lxx) Num 32:24 Ædificate ergo urbes parvulis vestris, et caulas, et stabula ovibus ac jumentis: et quod polliciti estis, implete.(vulgate) Num 32:24 So bauet nun Städte für eure Kinder und Hürden für euer Vieh und tut, was ihr geredet habt.(dhs) Num 32:24 Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep, and do what has proceeded out of your mouth."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:25 ============ Num 32:25 The sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, "Your servants will do just as my lord commands.(nasb) Num 32:25 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγοντες οἱ παῖδές σου ποιήσουσιν καθὰ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν ἐντέλλεται (lxx) Num 32:25 Dixeruntque filii Gad et Ruben ad Moysen: Servi tui sumus: faciemus quod jubet dominus noster.(vulgate) Num 32:25 Die Kinder Gad und die Kinder Ruben sprachen zu Mose: Deine Knechte sollen tun, wie mein Herr geboten hat.(dhs) Num 32:25 And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying: "Your servants will do as my lord commands.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 32:26 ============ Num 32:26 Our little ones, our wives, our livestock and all our cattle shall remain there in the cities of Gilead;(nasb) Num 32:26 ἡ ἀποσκευὴ ἡμῶν καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες ἡμῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη ἡμῶν ἔσονται ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Γαλααδ (lxx)
