Today's Date: ======= Numbers 35:1 ============ Num 35:1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying,(nasb) Num 35:1 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωαβ παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην κατὰ Ιεριχω λέγων (lxx) Num 35:1 Hæc quoque locutus est Dominus ad Moysen in campes tribus Moab supra Jordanem, contra Jericho:(vulgate) Num 35:1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose auf den Gefilde der Moabiter am Jordan gegenüber Jericho und sprach:(dhs) Num 35:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, saying:(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:2 ============ Num 35:2 "Command the sons of Israel that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to live in; and you shall give to the Levites pasture lands around the cities.(nasb) Num 35:2 σύνταξον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ δώσουσιν τοῖς Λευίταις ἀπὸ τῶν κλήρων κατασχέσεως αὐτῶν πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ προάστεια τῶν πόλεων κύκλῳ αὐτῶν δώσουσιν τοῖς Λευίταις (lxx) Num 35:2 Præcipe filiis Israël ut dent Levitis de possessionibus suis(vulgate) Num 35:2 Gebiete den Kindern Israel, daß sie den Leviten Städte geben von ihren Erbgütern zur Wohnung;(dhs) Num 35:2 "Command the children of Israel that they give the Levites cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession, and you shall also give the Levites common-land around the cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:3 ============ Num 35:3 The cities shall be theirs to live in; and their pasture lands shall be for their cattle and for their herds and for all their beasts.(nasb) Num 35:3 καὶ ἔσονται αὐτοῖς αἱ πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ ἀφορίσματα αὐτῶν ἔσται τοῖς κτήνεσιν αὐτῶν καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς τετράποσιν αὐτῶν (lxx) Num 35:3 urbes ad habitandum, et suburbana earum per circuitum: ut ipsi in oppidis maneant, et suburbana sint pecoribus ac jumentis:(vulgate) Num 35:3 dazu Vorstädte um die Städte her sollt ihr den Leviten auch geben, daß sie in den Städten wohnen und in den Vorstädten ihr Vieh und Gut und allerlei Tiere haben.(dhs) Num 35:3 They shall have the cities to dwell in; and their common-land shall be for their cattle, for their herds, and for all their animals.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:4 ============ Num 35:4 "The pasture lands of the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits around.(nasb) Num 35:4 καὶ τὰ συγκυροῦντα τῶν πόλεων ἃς δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις ἀπὸ τείχους τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔξω δισχιλίους πήχεις κύκλῳ (lxx) Num 35:4 quæ a muris civitatum forinsecus, per circuitum, mille passuum spatio tendentur.(vulgate) Num 35:4 Die Weite aber der Vorstädte, die ihr den Leviten gebt, soll tausend Ellen draußen vor der Stadtmauer umher haben.(dhs) Num 35:4 The common-land of the cities which you shall give the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:5 ============ Num 35:5 You shall also measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits, with the city in the center. This shall become theirs as pasture lands for the cities.(nasb) Num 35:5 καὶ μετρήσεις ἔξω τῆς πόλεως τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς λίβα δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς θάλασσαν δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς βορρᾶν δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ ἡ πόλις μέσον τούτου ἔσται ὑμῖν καὶ τὰ ὅμορα τῶν πόλεων (lxx) Num 35:5 Contra orientem duo millia erunt cubiti, et contra meridiem similiter erunt duo millia: ad mare quoque, quod respicit ad occidentem, eadem mensura erit, et septentrionalis plaga æquali termino finietur, eruntque urbes in medio, et foris suburbana.(vulgate) Num 35:5 So sollt ihr nun messen außen an der Stadt von der Ecke gegen Morgen zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Mittag zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Abend zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Mitternacht zweitausend Ellen, daß die Stadt in der Mitte sei. Das sollen ihre Vorstädte sein.(dhs) Num 35:5 And you shall measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, on the south side two thousand cubits, on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits. The city shall be in the middle. This shall belong to them as common-land for the cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:6 ============ Num 35:6 The cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to; and in addition to them you shall give forty-two cities.(nasb) Num 35:6 καὶ τὰς πόλεις δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις τὰς ἓξ πόλεις τῶν φυγαδευτηρίων ἃς δώσετε φεύγειν ἐκεῖ τῷ φονεύσαντι καὶ πρὸς ταύταις τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο πόλεις (lxx) Num 35:6 De ipsis autem oppidis, quæ Levitis dabitis, sex erunt in fugitivorum auxilia separata, ut fugiat ad ea qui fuderit sanguinem: et exceptis his, alia quadraginta duo oppida,(vulgate) Num 35:6 Und unter den Städten, die ihr den Leviten geben werdet, sollt ihr sechs Freistädte geben, daß dahinein fliehe, wer einen Totschlag getan hat. Über dieselben sollt ihr noch zweiundvierzig Städte geben,(dhs) Num 35:6 Now among the cities which you will give to the Levites you shall appoint six cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. And to these you shall add forty-two cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:7 ============ Num 35:7 All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities, together with their pasture lands.(nasb) Num 35:7 πάσας τὰς πόλεις δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ὀκτὼ πόλεις ταύτας καὶ τὰ προάστεια αὐτῶν (lxx) Num 35:7 id est, simul quadraginta octo cum suburbanis suis.(vulgate) Num 35:7 daß alle Städte, die ihr den Leviten gebt, seien achtundvierzig mit ihren Vorstädten.(dhs) Num 35:7 So all the cities you will give to the Levites shall be forty-eight; these you shall give with their common-land.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:8 ============ Num 35:8 As for the cities which you shall give from the possession of the sons of Israel, you shall take more from the larger and you shall take less from the smaller; each shall give some of his cities to the Levites in proportion to his possession which he inherits."(nasb) Num 35:8 καὶ τὰς πόλεις ἃς δώσετε ἀπὸ τῆς κατασχέσεως υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τῶν τὰ πολλὰ πολλὰ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἐλαττόνων ἐλάττω ἕκαστος κατὰ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν κληρονομήσουσιν δώσουσιν ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων τοῖς Λευίταις (lxx) Num 35:8 Ipsæque urbes, quæ dabuntur de possessionibus filiorum Israël, ab his qui plus habent, plures auferentur: et qui minus, pauciores: singuli juxta mensuram hæreditatis suæ dabunt oppida Levitis.~(vulgate) Num 35:8 Und sollt derselben desto mehr geben von denen, die viel besitzen unter den Kindern Israel, und desto weniger von denen, die wenig besitzen; ein jeglicher nach seinem Erbteil, das ihm zugeteilt wird, soll Städte den Leviten geben.(dhs) Num 35:8 And the cities which you will give shall be from the possession of the children of Israel; from the larger tribe you shall give many, from the smaller you shall give few. Each shall give some of its cities to the Levites, in proportion to the inheritance that each receives."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:9 ============ Num 35:9 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,(nasb) Num 35:9 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων (lxx) Num 35:9 Ait Dominus ad Moysen:(vulgate) Num 35:9 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:(dhs) Num 35:9 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:10 ============ Num 35:10 "Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,(nasb) Num 35:10 λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς γῆν Χανααν (lxx) Num 35:10 Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos: Quando transgressi fueritis Jordanem in terram Chanaan,(vulgate) Num 35:10 Rede mit den Kindern Israel und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ihr über den Jordan ins Land Kanaan kommt,(dhs) Num 35:10 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:11 ============ Num 35:11 then you shall select for yourselves cities to be your cities of refuge, that the manslayer who has killed any person unintentionally may flee there.(nasb) Num 35:11 καὶ διαστελεῖτε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς πόλεις φυγαδευτήρια ἔσται ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ τὸν φονευτήν πᾶς ὁ πατάξας ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως (lxx) Num 35:11 decernite quæ urbes esse debeant in præsidia fugitivorum, qui nolentes sanguinem fuderint:(vulgate) Num 35:11 sollt ihr Städte auswählen, daß sie Freistädte seien, wohin fliehe, wer einen Totschlag unversehens tut.(dhs) Num 35:11 then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:12 ============ Num 35:12 The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial.(nasb) Num 35:12 καὶ ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις ὑμῖν φυγαδευτήρια ἀπὸ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ ὁ φονεύων ἕως ἂν στῇ ἔναντι τῆς συναγωγῆς εἰς κρίσιν (lxx) Num 35:12 in quibus cum fuerit profugus, cognatus occisi non poterit eum occidere, donec stet in conspectu multitudinis, et causa illius judicetur.(vulgate) Num 35:12 Und sollen unter euch solche Freistädte sein vor dem Bluträcher, daß der nicht sterben müsse, der einen Totschlag getan hat, bis daß er vor der Gemeinde vor Gericht gestanden sei.(dhs) Num 35:12 They shall be cities of refuge for you from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation in judgment.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:13 ============ Num 35:13 The cities which you are to give shall be your six cities of refuge.(nasb) Num 35:13 καὶ αἱ πόλεις ἃς δώσετε τὰς ἓξ πόλεις φυγαδευτήρια ἔσονται ὑμῖν (lxx) Num 35:13 De ipsis autem urbibus, quæ ad fugitivorum subsidia separantur,(vulgate) Num 35:13 Und der Städte, die ihr geben werdet zu Freistädten, sollen sechs sein.(dhs) Num 35:13 And of the cities which you give, you shall have six cities of refuge.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:14 ============ Num 35:14 You shall give three cities across the Jordan and three cities in the land of Canaan; they are to be cities of refuge.(nasb) Num 35:14 τὰς τρεῖς πόλεις δώσετε ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ τὰς τρεῖς πόλεις δώσετε ἐν γῇ Χανααν (lxx) Num 35:14 tres erunt trans Jordanem, et tres in terra Chanaan,(vulgate) Num 35:14 Drei sollt ihr geben diesseit des Jordans und drei im Lande Kanaan.(dhs) Num 35:14 You shall appoint three cities on this side of the Jordan, and three cities you shall appoint in the land of Canaan, which will be cities of refuge.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:15 ============ Num 35:15 These six cities shall be for refuge for the sons of Israel, and for the alien and for the sojourner among them; that anyone who kills a person unintentionally may flee there.(nasb) Num 35:15 φυγάδιον ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ τῷ προσηλύτῳ καὶ τῷ παροίκῳ τῷ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις αὗται εἰς φυγαδευτήριον φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ παντὶ πατάξαντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως (lxx) Num 35:15 tam filiis Israël quam advenis atque peregrinis, ut confugiat ad eas qui nolens sanguinem fuderit.(vulgate) Num 35:15 Das sind die sechs Freistädte, den Kindern Israel und den Fremdlingen und den Beisassen unter euch, daß dahin fliehe, wer einen Totschlag getan hat unversehens.(dhs) Num 35:15 These six cities shall be for refuge for the children of Israel, for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them, that anyone who kills a person accidentally may flee there.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:16 ============ Num 35:16 'But if he struck him down with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nasb) Num 35:16 ἐὰν δὲ ἐν σκεύει σιδήρου πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ τελευτήσῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής (lxx) Num 35:16 Si quis ferro percusserit, et mortuus fuerit qui percussus est, reus erit homicidii, et ipse morietur.(vulgate) Num 35:16 Wer jemand mit einem Eisen schlägt, daß er stirbt, der ist ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.(dhs) Num 35:16 'But if he strikes him with an iron implement, so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:17 ============ Num 35:17 If he struck him down with a stone in the hand, by which he will die, and as a result he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nasb) Num 35:17 ἐὰν δὲ ἐν λίθῳ ἐκ χειρός ἐν ᾧ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής (lxx) Num 35:17 Si lapidem jecerit, et ictus occubuerit, similiter punietur.(vulgate) Num 35:17 Wirft er ihn mit einem Stein, mit dem jemand mag getötet werden, daß er davon stirbt, so ist er ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.(dhs) Num 35:17 And if he strikes him with a stone in the hand, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nasb) Num 35:18 ἐὰν δὲ ἐν σκεύει ξυλίνῳ ἐκ χειρός ἐξ οὗ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής (lxx) Num 35:18 Si ligno percussus interierit, percussoris sanguine vindicabitur.(vulgate) Num 35:18 Schlägt er ihn aber mit einem Holz, mit dem jemand mag totgeschlagen werden, daß er stirbt, so ist er ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.(dhs) Num 35:18 Or if he strikes him with a wooden hand weapon, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:19 ============ Num 35:19 The blood avenger himself shall put the murderer to death; he shall put him to death when he meets him.(nasb) Num 35:19 ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα οὗτος ἀποκτενεῖ τὸν φονεύσαντα ὅταν συναντήσῃ αὐτῷ οὗτος ἀποκτενεῖ αὐτόν (lxx) Num 35:19 Propinquus occisi, homicidam interficiet: statim ut apprehenderit eum, interficiet.(vulgate) Num 35:19 Der Rächer des Bluts soll den Totschläger zum Tode bringen; wo er ihm begegnet, soll er ihn töten.(dhs) Num 35:19 The avenger of blood himself shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:20 ============ Num 35:20 If he pushed him of hatred, or threw something at him lying in wait and as a result he died,(nasb) Num 35:20 ἐὰν δὲ δι᾽ ἔχθραν ὤσῃ αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπιρρίψῃ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πᾶν σκεῦος ἐξ ἐνέδρου καὶ ἀποθάνῃ (lxx) Num 35:20 Si per odium quis hominem impulerit, vel jecerit quippiam in eum per insidias:(vulgate) Num 35:20 Stößt er ihn aus Haß oder wirft etwas auf ihn aus List, daß er stirbt,(dhs) Num 35:20 If he pushes him out of hatred or, while lying in wait, hurls something at him so that he dies,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:21 ============ Num 35:21 or if he struck him down with his hand in enmity, and as a result he died, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death, he is a murderer; the blood avenger shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.(nasb) Num 35:21 ἢ διὰ μῆνιν ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν τῇ χειρί καὶ ἀποθάνῃ θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ πατάξας φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονεύων ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα ἀποκτενεῖ τὸν φονεύσαντα ἐν τῷ συναντῆσαι αὐτῷ (lxx) Num 35:21 aut cum esset inimicus, manu percusserit, et ille mortuus fuerit: percussor homicidii reus erit: cognatus occisi statim ut invenerit eum, jugulabit.(vulgate) Num 35:21 oder schlägt ihn aus Feindschaft mit seiner Hand, daß er stirbt, so soll er des Todes sterben, der ihn geschlagen hat; denn er ist ein Totschläger. Der Rächer des Bluts soll ihn zum Tode bringen, wo er ihm begegnet.(dhs) Num 35:21 or in enmity he strikes him with his hand so that he dies, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:22 ============ Num 35:22 'But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or threw something at him without lying in wait,(nasb) Num 35:22 ἐὰν δὲ ἐξάπινα οὐ δι᾽ ἔχθραν ὤσῃ αὐτὸν ἢ ἐπιρρίψῃ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πᾶν σκεῦος οὐκ ἐξ ἐνέδρου (lxx) Num 35:22 Quod si fortuitu, et absque odio(vulgate) Num 35:22 Wenn er ihn aber ungefähr stößt, ohne Feindschaft, oder wirft irgend etwas auf ihn unversehens(dhs) Num 35:22 'However, if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws anything at him without lying in wait,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:23 ============ Num 35:23 or with any deadly object of stone, and without seeing it dropped on him so that he died, while he was not his enemy nor seeking his injury,(nasb) Num 35:23 ἢ παντὶ λίθῳ ἐν ᾧ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ οὐκ εἰδώς καὶ ἐπιπέσῃ ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ αὐτὸς δὲ οὐκ ἐχθρὸς αὐτοῦ ἦν οὐδὲ ζητῶν κακοποιῆσαι αὐτόν (lxx) Num 35:23 et inimicitiis quidquam horum fecerit,(vulgate) Num 35:23 oder wirft irgend einen Stein auf ihn, davon man sterben mag, und er hat's nicht gesehen, also daß er stirbt, und er ist nicht sein Feind, hat ihm auch kein Übles gewollt,(dhs) Num 35:23 or uses a stone, by which a man could die, throwing it at him without seeing him, so that he dies, while he was not his enemy or seeking his harm,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:24 ============ Num 35:24 then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the blood avenger according to these ordinances.(nasb) Num 35:24 καὶ κρινεῖ ἡ συναγωγὴ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ πατάξαντος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα κατὰ τὰ κρίματα ταῦτα (lxx) Num 35:24 et hoc audiente populo fuerit comprobatum, atque inter percussorem et propinquum sanguinis quæstio ventilata:(vulgate) Num 35:24 so soll die Gemeinde richten zwischen dem, der geschlagen hat, und dem Rächer des Bluts nach diesen Rechten.(dhs) Num 35:24 then the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood according to these judgments.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:25 ============ Num 35:25 The congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the blood avenger, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he fled; and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.(nasb) Num 35:25 καὶ ἐξελεῖται ἡ συναγωγὴ τὸν φονεύσαντα ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα καὶ ἀποκαταστήσουσιν αὐτὸν ἡ συναγωγὴ εἰς τὴν πόλιν τοῦ φυγαδευτηρίου αὐτοῦ οὗ κατέφυγεν καὶ κατοικήσει ἐκεῖ ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας ὃν ἔχρισαν αὐτὸν τῷ ἐλαίῳ τῷ ἁγίῳ (lxx) Num 35:25 liberabitur innocens de ultoris manu, et reducetur per sententiam in urbem, ad quam confugerat, manebitque ibi, donec sacerdos magnus, qui oleo sancto unctus est, moriatur.(vulgate) Num 35:25 Und die Gemeinde soll den Totschläger erretten von der Hand des Bluträchers und soll ihn wiederkommen lassen zu der Freistadt, dahin er geflohen war; und er soll daselbst bleiben, bis daß der Hohepriester sterbe, den man mit dem heiligen Öl gesalbt hat.(dhs) Num 35:25 So the congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:26 ============ Num 35:26 But if the manslayer at any time goes beyond the border of his city of refuge to which he may flee,(nasb) Num 35:26 ἐὰν δὲ ἐξόδῳ ἐξέλθῃ ὁ φονεύσας τὰ ὅρια τῆς πόλεως εἰς ἣν κατέφυγεν ἐκεῖ (lxx) Num 35:26 Si interfector extra fines urbium, quæ exulibus deputatæ sunt,(vulgate) Num 35:26 Wird aber der Totschläger aus seiner Freistadt Grenze gehen, dahin er geflohen ist,(dhs) Num 35:26 But if the manslayer at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:27 ============ Num 35:27 and the blood avenger finds him outside the border of his city of refuge, and the blood avenger kills the manslayer, he will not be guilty of blood(nasb) Num 35:27 καὶ εὕρῃ αὐτὸν ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα ἔξω τῶν ὁρίων τῆς πόλεως καταφυγῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ φονεύσῃ ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα τὸν φονεύσαντα οὐκ ἔνοχός ἐστιν (lxx) Num 35:27 fuerit inventus, et percussus ab eo qui ultor est sanguinis: absque noxa erit qui eum occiderit.(vulgate) Num 35:27 und der Bluträcher findet ihn außerhalb der Grenze seiner Freistadt und schlägt ihn tot, so soll er des Bluts nicht schuldig sein.(dhs) Num 35:27 and the avenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:28 ============ Num 35:28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return to the land of his possession.(nasb) Num 35:28 ἐν γὰρ τῇ πόλει τῆς καταφυγῆς κατοικείτω ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν ἐπαναστραφήσεται ὁ φονεύσας εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως αὐτοῦ (lxx) Num 35:28 Debuerat enim profugus usque ad mortem pontificis in urbe residere. Postquam autem ille obierit, homicida revertetur in terram suam.(vulgate) Num 35:28 Denn er sollte in seiner Freistadt bleiben bis an den Tod des Hohenpriesters, und nach des Hohenpriesters Tod wieder zum Lande seines Erbguts kommen.(dhs) Num 35:28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest.
