Today's Date: ======= Deuteronomy 8:1 ============ Deu 8:1 "All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to give to your forefathers.(nasb) Deu 8:1 πάσας τὰς ἐντολάς ἃς ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον φυλάξεσθε ποιεῖν ἵνα ζῆτε καὶ πολυπλασιασθῆτε καὶ εἰσέλθητε καὶ κληρονομήσητε τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν (lxx) Deu 8:1 Omne mandatum, quod ego præcipio tibi hodie, cave diligenter ut facias, ut possitis vivere, et multiplicemini, ingressique possideatis terram, pro qua juravit Dominus patribus vestris.(vulgate) Deu 8:1 Alle Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete, sollt ihr halten daß ihr darnach tut, auf daß ihr lebt und gemehrt werdet und hineinkommt und einnehmet das Land, das der HERR euren Vätern geschworen hat.(dhs) Deu 8:1 "Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:2 ============ Deu 8:2 You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.(nasb) Deu 8:2 καὶ μνησθήσῃ πᾶσαν τὴν ὁδόν ἣν ἤγαγέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὅπως ἂν κακώσῃ σε καὶ ἐκπειράσῃ σε καὶ διαγνωσθῇ τὰ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου εἰ φυλάξῃ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ἢ οὔ (lxx) Deu 8:2 Et recordaberis cuncti itineris, per quod adduxit te Dominus Deus tuus quadraginta annis per desertum, ut affligeret te, atque tentaret, et nota fierent quæ in tuo animo versabantur, utrum custodires mandata illius, an non.(vulgate) Deu 8:2 Und gedenke alles des Weges, durch den dich der HERR, dein Gott, geleitet hat diese vierzig Jahre in der Wüste, auf daß er dich demütigte und versuchte, daß kund würde, was in deinem Herzen wäre, ob du seine Gebote halten würdest oder nicht.(dhs) Deu 8:2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:3 ============ Deu 8:3 He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.(nasb) Deu 8:3 καὶ ἐκάκωσέν σε καὶ ἐλιμαγχόνησέν σε καὶ ἐψώμισέν σε τὸ μαννα ὃ οὐκ εἴδησαν οἱ πατέρες σου ἵνα ἀναγγείλῃ σοι ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄρτῳ μόνῳ ζήσεται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἀλλ᾽ ἐπὶ παντὶ ῥήματι τῷ ἐκπορευομένῳ διὰ στόματος θεοῦ ζήσεται ὁ ἄνθρωπος (lxx) Deu 8:3 Afflixit te penuria, et dedit tibi cibum manna, quod ignorabas tu et patres tui: ut ostenderet tibi quod non in solo pane vivat homo, sed in omni verbo quod egreditur de ore Dei.(vulgate) Deu 8:3 Er demütigte dich und ließ dich hungern und speiste dich mit Man, das du und deine Väter nie gekannt hattet; auf daß er dir kundtäte, daß der Mensch nicht lebt vom Brot allein, sondern von allem, was aus dem Mund des HERRN geht.(dhs) Deu 8:3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:4 ============ Deu 8:4 Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.(nasb) Deu 8:4 τὰ ἱμάτιά σου οὐ κατετρίβη ἀπὸ σοῦ οἱ πόδες σου οὐκ ἐτυλώθησαν ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη (lxx) Deu 8:4 Vestimentum tuum, quo operiebaris, nequaquam vetustate defecit, et pes tuus non est subtritus, en quadragesimus annus est:(vulgate) Deu 8:4 Deine Kleider sind nicht veraltet an dir, und deine Füße sind nicht geschwollen diese vierzig Jahre.(dhs) Deu 8:4 Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:5 ============ Deu 8:5 Thus you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.(nasb) Deu 8:5 καὶ γνώσῃ τῇ καρδίᾳ σου ὅτι ὡς εἴ τις παιδεύσαι ἄνθρωπος τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ οὕτως κύριος ὁ θεός σου παιδεύσει σε (lxx) Deu 8:5 ut recogites in corde tuo, quia sicut erudit filium suum homo, sic Dominus Deus tuus erudivit te,(vulgate) Deu 8:5 So erkennst du ja in deinem Herzen, daß der HERR, dein Gott, dich gezogen hat, wie eine Mann seinen Sohn zieht.(dhs) Deu 8:5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:6 ============ Deu 8:6 Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.(nasb) Deu 8:6 καὶ φυλάξῃ τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου πορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ φοβεῖσθαι αὐτόν (lxx) Deu 8:6 ut custodias mandata Domini Dei tui, et ambules in viis ejus, et timeas eum.(vulgate) Deu 8:6 So halte nun die Gebote des HERRN, deines Gottes, daß du in seinen Wegen wandelst und fürchtest ihn.(dhs) Deu 8:6 Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:7 ============ Deu 8:7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills;(nasb) Deu 8:7 ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰσάγει σε εἰς γῆν ἀγαθὴν καὶ πολλήν οὗ χείμαρροι ὑδάτων καὶ πηγαὶ ἀβύσσων ἐκπορευόμεναι διὰ τῶν πεδίων καὶ διὰ τῶν ὀρέων (lxx) Deu 8:7 Dominus enim Deus tuus introducet te in terram bonam, terram rivorum, aquarumque et fontium, in cujus campis et montibus erumpunt fluviorum abyssi:(vulgate) Deu 8:7 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, führt dich in ein gutes Land, ein Land, darin Bäche und Brunnen und Seen sind, die an den Bergen und in den Auen fließen;(dhs) Deu 8:7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:8 ============ Deu 8:8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;(nasb) Deu 8:8 γῆ πυροῦ καὶ κριθῆς ἄμπελοι συκαῖ ῥόαι γῆ ἐλαίας ἐλαίου καὶ μέλιτος (lxx) Deu 8:8 terram frumenti, hordei ac vinearum, in qua ficus, et malogranata, et oliveta nascuntur: terram olei ac mellis,(vulgate) Deu 8:8 ein Land, darin Weizen, Gerste, Weinstöcke, Feigenbäume und Granatäpfel sind; ein Land darin Ölbäume und Honig wachsen;(dhs) Deu 8:8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:9 ============ Deu 8:9 a land where you will eat food without scarcity, in which you will not lack anything; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper.(nasb) Deu 8:9 γῆ ἐφ᾽ ἧς οὐ μετὰ πτωχείας φάγῃ τὸν ἄρτον σου καὶ οὐκ ἐνδεηθήσῃ οὐδὲν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς γῆ ἧς οἱ λίθοι σίδηρος καὶ ἐκ τῶν ὀρέων αὐτῆς μεταλλεύσεις χαλκόν (lxx) Deu 8:9 ubi absque ulla penuria comedes panem tuum, et rerum omnium abundantia perfrueris: cujus lapides ferrum sunt, et de montibus ejus æris metalla fodiuntur:(vulgate) Deu 8:9 ein Land, da du Brot genug zu essen hast, da dir nichts mangelt; ein Land, des Steine Eisen sind, da du Erz aus den Bergen hauest.(dhs) Deu 8:9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:10 ============ Deu 8:10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.(nasb) Deu 8:10 καὶ φάγῃ καὶ ἐμπλησθήσῃ καὶ εὐλογήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τῆς ἀγαθῆς ἧς ἔδωκέν σοι (lxx) Deu 8:10 ut cum comederis, et satiatus fueris, benedicas Domino Deo tuo pro terra optima, quam dedit tibi.~(vulgate) Deu 8:10 Und wenn du gegessen hast und satt bist, sollst du den HERRN, deinen Gott, loben für das gute Land, das er dir gegeben hat.(dhs) Deu 8:10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:11 ============ Deu 8:11 "Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am commanding you today;(nasb) Deu 8:11 πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ μὴ φυλάξαι τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ κρίματα καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον (lxx) Deu 8:11 Observa, et cave nequando obliviscaris Domini Dei tui, et negligas mandata ejus atque judicia et cæremonias, quas ego præcipio tibi hodie:(vulgate) Deu 8:11 So hüte dich nun, daß du des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht vergessest, damit daß du seine Gebote und seine Gesetze und Rechte, die ich dir heute gebiete, nicht hältst;(dhs) Deu 8:11 "Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:12 ============ Deu 8:12 otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them,(nasb) Deu 8:12 μὴ φαγὼν καὶ ἐμπλησθεὶς καὶ οἰκίας καλὰς οἰκοδομήσας καὶ κατοικήσας ἐν αὐταῖς (lxx) Deu 8:12 ne postquam comederis et satiatus fueris, domos pulchras ædificaveris, et habitaveris in eis,(vulgate) Deu 8:12 daß, wenn du nun gegessen hast und satt bist und schöne Häuser erbaust und darin wohnst(dhs) Deu 8:12 lest--when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:13 ============ Deu 8:13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have multiplies,(nasb) Deu 8:13 καὶ τῶν βοῶν σου καὶ τῶν προβάτων σου πληθυνθέντων σοι ἀργυρίου καὶ χρυσίου πληθυνθέντος σοι καὶ πάντων ὅσων σοι ἔσται πληθυνθέντων σοι (lxx) Deu 8:13 habuerisque armenta boum, et ovium greges, argenti et auri, cunctarumque rerum copiam,(vulgate) Deu 8:13 und du deine Rinder und Schafe und Silber und Gold und alles, was du hast, sich mehrt,(dhs) Deu 8:13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:14 ============ Deu 8:14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.(nasb) Deu 8:14 ὑψωθῇς τῇ καρδίᾳ καὶ ἐπιλάθῃ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας (lxx) Deu 8:14 elevetur cor tuum, et non reminiscaris Domini Dei tui, qui eduxit te de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis,(vulgate) Deu 8:14 daß dann dein Herz sich nicht überhebe und du vergessest des HERRN, deines Gottes, der dich aus Ägyptenland geführt hat, aus dem Diensthause,(dhs) Deu 8:14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:15 ============ Deu 8:15 He led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; He brought water for you out of the rock of flint.(nasb) Deu 8:15 τοῦ ἀγαγόντος σε διὰ τῆς ἐρήμου τῆς μεγάλης καὶ τῆς φοβερᾶς ἐκείνης οὗ ὄφις δάκνων καὶ σκορπίος καὶ δίψα οὗ οὐκ ἦν ὕδωρ τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σοι ἐκ πέτρας ἀκροτόμου πηγὴν ὕδατος (lxx) Deu 8:15 et ductor tuus fuit in solitudine magna atque terribili, in qua erat serpens flatu adurens, et scorpio, ac dipsas, et nullæ omnino aquæ: qui eduxit rivos de petra durissima,(vulgate) Deu 8:15 und dich geleitet hat durch die große und grausame Wüste, da feurige Schlangen und Skorpione und eitel Dürre und kein Wasser war, und ließ dir Wasser aus dem harten Felsen gehen(dhs) Deu 8:15 who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:16 ============ Deu 8:16 In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end.(nasb) Deu 8:16 τοῦ ψωμίσαντός σε τὸ μαννα ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὃ οὐκ εἴδησαν οἱ πατέρες σου ἵνα κακώσῃ σε καὶ ἐκπειράσῃ σε καὶ εὖ σε ποιήσῃ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν σου (lxx) Deu 8:16 et cibavit te manna in solitudine, quod nescierunt patres tui. Et postquam afflixit ac probavit, ad extremum misertus est tui,(vulgate) Deu 8:16 und speiste dich mit Man in der Wüste, von welchem deine Väter nichts gewußt haben, auf daß er dich demütigte und versuchte, daß er dir hernach wohltäte.(dhs) Deu 8:16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end--(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:17 ============ Deu 8:17 Otherwise, you may say in your heart, 'My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.'(nasb) Deu 8:17 μὴ εἴπῃς ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου ἡ ἰσχύς μου καὶ τὸ κράτος τῆς χειρός μου ἐποίησέν μοι τὴν δύναμιν τὴν μεγάλην ταύτην (lxx) Deu 8:17 ne diceres in corde tuo: Fortitudo mea, et robur manus meæ, hæc mihi omnia præstiterunt:(vulgate) Deu 8:17 Du möchtest sonst sagen in deinem Herzen: Meine Kräfte und meiner Hände Stärke haben mir dies Vermögen ausgerichtet.(dhs) Deu 8:17 then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.'(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:18 ============ Deu 8:18 But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.(nasb) Deu 8:18 καὶ μνησθήσῃ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ὅτι αὐτός σοι δίδωσιν ἰσχὺν τοῦ ποιῆσαι δύναμιν καὶ ἵνα στήσῃ τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ ἣν ὤμοσεν κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν σου ὡς σήμερον (lxx) Deu 8:18 sed recorderis Domini Dei tui, quod ipse vires tibi præbuerit, ut impleret pactum suum, super quo juravit patribus tuis, sicut præsens indicat dies.(vulgate) Deu 8:18 Sondern gedenke an den HERRN, deinen Gott; denn er ist's, der dir Kräfte gibt, solch mächtige Taten zu tun, auf daß er hielte seinen Bund, den er deinen Vätern geschworen hat, wie es geht heutigestages.(dhs) Deu 8:18 And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:19 ============ Deu 8:19 It shall come about if you ever forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish.(nasb) Deu 8:19 καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν λήθῃ ἐπιλάθῃ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου καὶ πορευθῇς ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων καὶ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς καὶ προσκυνήσῃς αὐτοῖς διαμαρτύρομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον τόν τε οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν ὅτι ἀπωλείᾳ ἀπολεῖσθε (lxx) Deu 8:19 Sin autem oblitus Domini Dei tui, secutus fueris deos alienos, coluerisque illos et adoraveris: ecce nunc prædico tibi quod omnino dispereas.(vulgate) Deu 8:19 Wirst du aber des HERRN, deines Gottes, vergessen und andern Göttern nachfolgen und ihnen dienen und sie anbeten, so bezeuge ich heute über euch, daß ihr umkommen werdet;(dhs) Deu 8:19 Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 8:20 ============ Deu 8:20 Like the nations that the Lord makes to perish before you, so you shall perish; because you would not listen to the voice of the Lord your God.(nasb) Deu 8:20 καθὰ καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη ὅσα κύριος ἀπολλύει πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν οὕτως ἀπολεῖσθε ἀνθ᾽ ὧν οὐκ ἠκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν (lxx) Deu 8:20 Sicut gentes, quas delevit Dominus in introitu tuo, ita et vos peribitis, si inobedientes fueritis voci Domini Dei vestri.(vulgate) Deu 8:20 eben wie die Heiden, die der HERR umbringt vor eurem Angesicht, so werdet ihr auch umkommen, darum daß ihr nicht gehorsam seid der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes.(dhs) Deu 8:20 As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 9:1 ============ top of the page
