Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 13:1 ============ Isa 13:1 The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.(nasb) Isa 13:1 ὅρασις ἣν εἶδεν Ησαιας υἱὸς Αμως κατὰ Βαβυλῶνος (lxx) Isa 13:1 Onus Babylonis, quod vidit Isaias, filius Amos.(vulgate) Isa 13:1 Dies ist die Last über Babel, die Jesaja, der Sohn des Amoz, sah:(dhs) Isa 13:1 The burden against Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:2 ============ Isa 13:2 Lift up a standard on the bare hill, Raise your voice to them, Wave the hand that they may enter the doors of the nobles.(nasb) Isa 13:2 ἐπ᾽ ὄρους πεδινοῦ ἄρατε σημεῖον ὑψώσατε τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε παρακαλεῖτε τῇ χειρί ἀνοίξατε οἱ ἄρχοντες (lxx) Isa 13:2 [Super montem caliginosum levate signum: exaltate vocem, levate manum, et ingrediantur portas duces.(vulgate) Isa 13:2 Auf hohem Berge werfet Panier auf, rufet laut ihnen zu, winket mit der Hand, daß sie einziehen durch die Tore der Fürsten.(dhs) Isa 13:2 "Lift up a banner on the high mountain, Raise your voice to them; Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:3 ============ Isa 13:3 I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have even called My mighty warriors, My proudly exulting ones, To execute My anger.(nasb) Isa 13:3 ἐγὼ συντάσσω καὶ ἐγὼ ἄγω αὐτούς ἡγιασμένοι εἰσίν καὶ ἐγὼ ἄγω αὐτούς γίγαντες ἔρχονται πληρῶσαι τὸν θυμόν μου χαίροντες ἅμα καὶ ὑβρίζοντες (lxx) Isa 13:3 Ego mandavi sanctificatis meis, et vocavi fortes meos in ira mea, exsultantes in gloria mea.(vulgate) Isa 13:3 Ich habe meine Geheiligten geboten und meine Starken gerufen zu meinem Zorn, die fröhlich sind in meiner Herrlichkeit.(dhs) Isa 13:3 I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have also called My mighty ones for My anger-- Those who rejoice in My exaltation."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:4 ============ Isa 13:4 A sound of tumult on the mountains, Like that of many people! A sound of the uproar of kingdoms, Of nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts is mustering the army for battle.(nasb) Isa 13:4 φωνὴ ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων ὁμοία ἐθνῶν πολλῶν φωνὴ βασιλέων καὶ ἐθνῶν συνηγμένων κύριος σαβαωθ ἐντέταλται ἔθνει ὁπλομάχῳ (lxx) Isa 13:4 Vox multitudinis in montibus, quasi populorum frequentium; vox sonitus regum, gentium congregatarum. Dominus exercituum præcepit militiæ belli,(vulgate) Isa 13:4 Es ist ein Geschrei einer Menge auf den Bergen wie eines großen Volks, ein Geschrei wie eines Getümmels der versammelten Königreiche der Heiden. Der HERR Zebaoth rüstet ein Heer zum Streit,(dhs) Isa 13:4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts musters The army for battle.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:5 ============ Isa 13:5 They are coming from a far country, From the farthest horizons, The Lord and His instruments of indignation, To destroy the whole land.(nasb) Isa 13:5 ἔρχεσθαι ἐκ γῆς πόρρωθεν ἀπ᾽ ἄκρου θεμελίου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κύριος καὶ οἱ ὁπλομάχοι αὐτοῦ τοῦ καταφθεῖραι τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην (lxx) Isa 13:5 venientibus de terra procul, a summitate cæli; Dominus, et vasa furoris ejus, ut disperdat omnem terram.(vulgate) Isa 13:5 sie kommen aus fernen Landen vom Ende des Himmels, ja, der HERR selbst samt den Werkzeugen seines Zorns, zu verderben das ganze Land.(dhs) Isa 13:5 They come from a far country, From the end of heaven-- The Lord and His weapons of indignation, To destroy the whole land.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:6 ============ Isa 13:6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.(nasb) Isa 13:6 ὀλολύζετε ἐγγὺς γὰρ ἡ ἡμέρα κυρίου καὶ συντριβὴ παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ ἥξει (lxx) Isa 13:6 Ululate, quia prope est dies Domini; quasi vastitas a Domino veniet.(vulgate) Isa 13:6 Heulet, denn des HERRN Tag ist nahe; er kommt wie eine Verwüstung vom Allmächtigen.(dhs) Isa 13:6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:7 ============ Isa 13:7 Therefore all hands will fall limp, And every man's heart will melt.(nasb) Isa 13:7 διὰ τοῦτο πᾶσα χεὶρ ἐκλυθήσεται καὶ πᾶσα ψυχὴ ἀνθρώπου δειλιάσει (lxx) Isa 13:7 Propter hoc omnes manus dissolventur, et omne cor hominis contabescet,(vulgate) Isa 13:7 Darum werden alle Hände laß und aller Menschen Herz wird feige sein.(dhs) Isa 13:7 Therefore all hands will be limp, Every man's heart will melt,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:8 ============ Isa 13:8 They will be terrified, Pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will writhe like a woman in labor, They will look at one another in astonishment, Their faces aflame.(nasb) Isa 13:8 καὶ ταραχθήσονται οἱ πρέσβεις καὶ ὠδῖνες αὐτοὺς ἕξουσιν ὡς γυναικὸς τικτούσης καὶ συμφοράσουσιν ἕτερος πρὸς τὸν ἕτερον καὶ ἐκστήσονται καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν ὡς φλὸξ μεταβαλοῦσιν (lxx) Isa 13:8 et conteretur. Torsiones et dolores tenebunt; quasi parturiens dolebunt: unusquisque ad proximum suum stupebit, facies combustæ vultus eorum.(vulgate) Isa 13:8 Schrecken, Angst und Schmerzen wird sie ankommen; es wird ihnen bange sein wie einer Gebärerin; einer wird sich vor dem andern entsetzen; feuerrot werden ihre Angesichter sein.(dhs) Isa 13:8 And they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:9 ============ Isa 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.(nasb) Isa 13:9 ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἡμέρα κυρίου ἀνίατος ἔρχεται θυμοῦ καὶ ὀργῆς θεῖναι τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην ἔρημον καὶ τοὺς ἁμαρτωλοὺς ἀπολέσαι ἐξ αὐτῆς (lxx) Isa 13:9 Ecce dies Domini veniet, crudelis, et indignationis plenus, et iræ, furorisque, ad ponendam terram in solitudinem, et peccatores ejus conterendos de ea.(vulgate) Isa 13:9 Denn siehe, des HERRN Tag kommt grausam, zornig, grimmig, das Land zu verstören und die Sünder daraus zu vertilgen.(dhs) Isa 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:10 ============ Isa 13:10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light.(nasb) Isa 13:10 οἱ γὰρ ἀστέρες τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ὁ Ὠρίων καὶ πᾶς ὁ κόσμος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τὸ φῶς οὐ δώσουσιν καὶ σκοτισθήσεται τοῦ ἡλίου ἀνατέλλοντος καὶ ἡ σελήνη οὐ δώσει τὸ φῶς αὐτῆς (lxx) Isa 13:10 Quoniam stellæ cæli, et splendor earum, non expandent lumen suum; obtenebratus est sol in ortu suo, et luna non splendebit in lumine suo.(vulgate) Isa 13:10 Denn die Sterne am Himmel und sein Orion scheinen nicht hell; die Sonne geht finster auf, und der Mond scheint dunkel.(dhs) Isa 13:10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:11 ============ Isa 13:11 Thus I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud And abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.(nasb) Isa 13:11 καὶ ἐντελοῦμαι τῇ οἰκουμένῃ ὅλῃ κακὰ καὶ τοῖς ἀσεβέσιν τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν καὶ ἀπολῶ ὕβριν ἀνόμων καὶ ὕβριν ὑπερηφάνων ταπεινώσω (lxx) Isa 13:11 Et visitabo super orbis mala, et contra impios iniquitatem eorum; et quiescere faciam superbiam infidelium, et arrogantiam fortium humiliabo.(vulgate) Isa 13:11 Ich will den Erdboden heimsuchen um seiner Bosheit willen und will dem Hochmut der Stolzen ein Ende machen und die Hoffart der Gewaltigen demütigen,(dhs) Isa 13:11 "I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:12 ============ Isa 13:12 I will make mortal man scarcer than pure gold And mankind than the gold of Ophir.(nasb) Isa 13:12 καὶ ἔσονται οἱ καταλελειμμένοι ἔντιμοι μᾶλλον ἢ τὸ χρυσίον τὸ ἄπυρον καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος μᾶλλον ἔντιμος ἔσται ἢ ὁ λίθος ὁ ἐκ Σουφιρ (lxx) Isa 13:12 Pretiosior erit vir auro, et homo mundo obrizo.(vulgate) Isa 13:12 daß ein Mann teurer sein soll denn feines Gold und ein Mensch werter denn Goldes Stücke aus Ophir.(dhs) Isa 13:12 I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold, A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:13 ============ Isa 13:13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, And the earth will be shaken from its place At the fury of the Lord of hosts In the day of His burning anger.(nasb) Isa 13:13 ὁ γὰρ οὐρανὸς θυμωθήσεται καὶ ἡ γῆ σεισθήσεται ἐκ τῶν θεμελίων αὐτῆς διὰ θυμὸν ὀργῆς κυρίου σαβαωθ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἂν ἐπέλθῃ ὁ θυμὸς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Isa 13:13 Super hoc cælum turbabo; et movebitur terra de loco suo, propter indignationem Domini exercituum, et propter diem iræ furoris ejus.(vulgate) Isa 13:13 Darum will ich den Himmel bewegen, daß die Erde beben soll von ihrer Stätte durch den Grimm des HERRN Zebaoth und durch den Tag seines Zorns.(dhs) Isa 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, And the earth will move out of her place, In the wrath of the Lord of hosts And in the day of His fierce anger.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:14 ============ Isa 13:14 And it will be that like a hunted gazelle, Or like sheep with none to gather them, They will each turn to his own people, And each one flee to his own land.(nasb) Isa 13:14 καὶ ἔσονται οἱ καταλελειμμένοι ὡς δορκάδιον φεῦγον καὶ ὡς πρόβατον πλανώμενον καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ συνάγων ὥστε ἄνθρωπον εἰς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀποστραφῆναι καὶ ἄνθρωπον εἰς τὴν χώραν αὐτοῦ διῶξαι (lxx) Isa 13:14 Et erit quasi damula fugiens, et quasi ovis, et non erit qui congreget. Unusquisque ad populum suum convertetur, et singuli ad terram suam fugient.(vulgate) Isa 13:14 Und sie sollen sein wie ein verscheuchtes Reh und wie eine Herde ohne Hirten, daß sich ein jeglicher zu seinem Volk kehren und ein jeglicher in sein Land fliehen wird,(dhs) Isa 13:14 It shall be as the hunted gazelle, And as a sheep that no man takes up; Their eye will not spare children.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:19 ============ Isa 13:19 And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.(nasb) Isa 13:19 καὶ ἔσται Βαβυλών ἣ καλεῖται ἔνδοξος ὑπὸ βασιλέως Χαλδαίων ὃν τρόπον κατέστρεψεν ὁ θεὸς Σοδομα καὶ Γομορρα (lxx) Isa 13:19 Et erit Babylon illa gloriosa in regnis, inclyta superbia Chaldæorum, sicut subvertit Dominus Sodomam et Gomorrham.(vulgate) Isa 13:19 Also soll Babel, das schönste unter den Königreichen, die herrliche Pracht der Chaldäer, umgekehrt werden vor Gott wie Sodom und Gomorra,(dhs) Isa 13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, The beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:20 ============ Isa 13:20 It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.(nasb) Isa 13:20 οὐ κατοικηθήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον οὐδὲ μὴ εἰσέλθωσιν εἰς αὐτὴν διὰ πολλῶν γενεῶν οὐδὲ μὴ διέλθωσιν αὐτὴν Ἄραβες οὐδὲ ποιμένες οὐ μὴ ἀναπαύσωνται ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Isa 13:20 Non habitabitur usque in finem, et non fundabitur usque ad generationem et generationem; nec ponet tibi tentoria Arabs, nec pastores requiescent ibi.(vulgate) Isa 13:20 daß man hinfort nicht mehr da wohne noch jemand da bleibe für und für, daß auch die Araber keine Hütten daselbst machen und die Hirten keine Hürden da aufschlagen;(dhs) Isa 13:20 It will never be inhabited, Nor will it be settled from generation to generation; Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there.(nasb) Isa 13:21 καὶ ἀναπαύσονται ἐκεῖ θηρία καὶ ἐμπλησθήσονται αἱ οἰκίαι ἤχου καὶ ἀναπαύσονται ἐκεῖ σειρῆνες καὶ δαιμόνια ἐκεῖ ὀρχήσονται (lxx) Isa 13:21 Sed requiescent ibi bestiæ, et replebuntur domus eorum draconibus, et habitabunt ibi struthiones, et pilosi saltabunt ibi;(vulgate) Isa 13:21 sondern Wüstentiere werden sich da lagern, und ihre Häuser sollen voll Eulen sein, und Strauße werden da wohnen, und Feldgeister werden da hüpfen(dhs) Isa 13:21 But wild beasts of the desert will lie there, And their houses will be full of owls; Ostriches will dwell there, And wild goats will caper there.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 13:22 ============ Isa 13:22 Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers And jackals in their luxurious palaces. Her fateful time also will soon come And her days will not be prolonged.(nasb) Isa 13:22 καὶ ὀνοκένταυροι ἐκεῖ κατοικήσουσιν καὶ νοσσοποιήσουσιν ἐχῖνοι ἐν τοῖς οἴκοις αὐτῶν ταχὺ ἔρχεται καὶ οὐ χρονιεῖ (lxx) Isa 13:22 et respondebunt ibi ululæ in ædibus ejus, et sirenes in delubris voluptatis.](vulgate) Isa 13:22 und wilde Hunde in ihren Palästen heulen und Schakale in den lustigen Schlössern.
