Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 59:1 ============ Isa 59:1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear.(nasb) Isa 59:1 μὴ οὐκ ἰσχύει ἡ χεὶρ κυρίου τοῦ σῶσαι ἢ ἐβάρυνεν τὸ οὖς αὐτοῦ τοῦ μὴ εἰσακοῦσαι (lxx) Isa 59:1 [Ecce non est abbreviata manus Domini, ut salvare nequeat, neque aggravata est auris ejus, ut non exaudiat.(vulgate) Isa 59:1 Siehe, des HERRN Hand ist nicht zu kurz, daß er nicht helfen könne, und seine Ohren sind nicht hart geworden, daß er nicht höre;(dhs) Isa 59:1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:2 ============ Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.(nasb) Isa 59:2 ἀλλὰ τὰ ἁμαρτήματα ὑμῶν διιστῶσιν ἀνὰ μέσον ὑμῶν καὶ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἀπέστρεψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν τοῦ μὴ ἐλεῆσαι (lxx) Isa 59:2 Sed iniquitates vestræ diviserunt inter vos et Deum vestrum; et peccata vestra absconderunt faciem ejus a vobis, ne exaudiret.(vulgate) Isa 59:2 sondern eure Untugenden scheiden euch und euren Gott voneinander, und eure Sünden verbergen das Angesicht vor euch, daß ihr nicht gehört werdet.(dhs) Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:3 ============ Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken falsehood, Your tongue mutters wickedness.(nasb) Isa 59:3 αἱ γὰρ χεῖρες ὑμῶν μεμολυμμέναι αἵματι καὶ οἱ δάκτυλοι ὑμῶν ἐν ἁμαρτίαις τὰ δὲ χείλη ὑμῶν ἐλάλησεν ἀνομίαν καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα ὑμῶν ἀδικίαν μελετᾷ (lxx) Isa 59:3 Manus enim vestræ pollutæ sunt sanguine, et digiti vestri iniquitate; labia vestra locuta sunt mendacium, et lingua vestra iniquitatem fatur.(vulgate) Isa 59:3 Denn eure Hände sind mit Blut befleckt und eure Finger mit Untugend; eure Lippen reden Falsches, eure Zunge dichtet Unrechtes.(dhs) Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:4 ============ Isa 59:4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.(nasb) Isa 59:4 οὐδεὶς λαλεῖ δίκαια οὐδὲ ἔστιν κρίσις ἀληθινή πεποίθασιν ἐπὶ ματαίοις καὶ λαλοῦσιν κενά ὅτι κύουσιν πόνον καὶ τίκτουσιν ἀνομίαν (lxx) Isa 59:4 Non est qui invocet justitiam, neque est qui judicet vere: sed confidunt in nihilo, et loquuntur vanitates; conceperunt laborem, et pepererunt iniquitatem.(vulgate) Isa 59:4 Es ist niemand, der von Gerechtigkeit predige oder treulich richte. Man vertraut aufs Eitle und redet nichts Tüchtiges; mit Unglück sind sie schwanger und gebären Mühsal.(dhs) Isa 59:4 No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:5 ============ Isa 59:5 They hatch adders' eggs and weave the spider's web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.(nasb) Isa 59:5 ᾠὰ ἀσπίδων ἔρρηξαν καὶ ἱστὸν ἀράχνης ὑφαίνουσιν καὶ ὁ μέλλων τῶν ᾠῶν αὐτῶν φαγεῖν συντρίψας οὔριον εὗρεν καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ βασιλίσκος (lxx) Isa 59:5 Ova aspidum ruperunt, et telas araneæ texuerunt. Qui comederit de ovis eorum, morietur; et quod confotum est, erumpet in regulum.(vulgate) Isa 59:5 Sie brüten Basiliskeneier und wirken Spinnwebe. Exspectavimus lucem, et ecce tenebræ; splendorem, et in tenebris ambulavimus.(vulgate) Isa 59:9 Darum ist das Recht fern von uns, und wir erlangen die Gerechtigkeit nicht. Denn unsre Übertretungen sind bei uns und wir fühlen unsere Sünden:(dhs) Isa 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You, And our sins testify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And as for our iniquities, we know them:(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:13 ============ Isa 59:13 Transgressing and denying the Lord, And turning away from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words.(nasb) Isa 59:13 ἠσεβήσαμεν καὶ ἐψευσάμεθα καὶ ἀπέστημεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐλαλήσαμεν ἄδικα καὶ ἠπειθήσαμεν ἐκύομεν καὶ ἐμελετήσαμεν ἀπὸ καρδίας ἡμῶν λόγους ἀδίκους (lxx) Isa 59:13 Peccare et mentiri contra Dominum, et aversi sumus ne iremus post tergum Dei nostri, ut loqueremur calumniam et transgressionem; concepimus et locuti sumus de corde verba mendacii.(vulgate) Isa 59:13 mit Übertreten und Lügen wider den HERRN und Zurückkehren von unserm Gott und mit Reden von Frevel und Ungehorsam, mit Trachten und dichten falscher Worte aus dem Herzen.(dhs) Isa 59:13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:14 ============ Isa 59:14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands far away; For truth has stumbled in the street, And uprightness cannot enter.(nasb) Isa 59:14 καὶ ἀπεστήσαμεν ὀπίσω τὴν κρίσιν καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη μακρὰν ἀφέστηκεν ὅτι καταναλώθη ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ δι᾽ εὐθείας οὐκ ἠδύναντο διελθεῖν (lxx) Isa 59:14 Et conversum est retrorsum judicium, et justitia longe stetit, quia corruit in platea veritas, et æquitas non potuit ingredi.(vulgate) Isa 59:14 Und das Recht ist zurückgewichen und Gerechtigkeit fern getreten; denn die Wahrheit fällt auf der Gasse, und Recht kann nicht einhergehen,(dhs) Isa 59:14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:15 ============ Isa 59:15 Yes, truth is lacking; And he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey. Now the Lord saw, And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.(nasb) Isa 59:15 καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια ἦρται καὶ μετέστησαν τὴν διάνοιαν τοῦ συνιέναι καὶ εἶδεν κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἤρεσεν αὐτῷ ὅτι οὐκ ἦν κρίσις (lxx) Isa 59:15 Et facta est veritas in oblivionem, et qui recessit a malo, prædæ patuit. Et vidit Dominus, et malum apparuit in oculis ejus, quia non est judicium.(vulgate) Isa 59:15 und die Wahrheit ist dahin; und wer vom Bösen weicht, der muß jedermanns Raub sein. Solches sieht der HERR, und es gefällt ihm übel, daß kein Recht da ist.(dhs) Isa 59:15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:16 ============ Isa 59:16 And He saw that there was no man, And was astonished that there was no one to intercede; Then His own arm brought salvation to Him, And His righteousness upheld Him.(nasb) Isa 59:16 καὶ εἶδεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀνήρ καὶ κατενόησεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀντιλημψόμενος καὶ ἠμύνατο αὐτοὺς τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ ἐλεημοσύνῃ ἐστηρίσατο (lxx) Isa 59:16 Et vidit quia non est vir, et aporiatus est, quia non est qui occurrat; et salvavit sibi brachium suum, et justitia ejus ipsa confirmavit eum.(vulgate) Isa 59:16 Und er sieht, daß niemand da ist, und verwundert sich, daß niemand ins Mittel tritt. Darum hilft er sich selbst mit seinem Arm, und seine Gerechtigkeit steht ihm bei.(dhs) Isa 59:16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:17 ============ Isa 59:17 He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.(nasb) Isa 59:17 καὶ ἐνεδύσατο δικαιοσύνην ὡς θώρακα καὶ περιέθετο περικεφαλαίαν σωτηρίου ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς καὶ περιεβάλετο ἱμάτιον ἐκδικήσεως καὶ τὸ περιβόλαιον (lxx) Isa 59:17 Indutus est justitia ut lorica, et galea salutis in capite ejus; indutus est vestimentis ultionis, et opertus est quasi pallio zeli:(vulgate) Isa 59:17 Denn er zieht Gerechtigkeit an wie einen Panzer und setzt einen Helm des Heils auf sein Haupt und zieht sich an zur Rache und kleidet sich mit Eifer wie mit einem Rock,(dhs) Isa 59:17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:18 ============ Isa 59:18 According to their deeds, so He will repay, Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; To the coastlands He will make recompense.(nasb) Isa 59:18 ὡς ἀνταποδώσων ἀνταπόδοσιν ὄνειδος τοῖς ὑπεναντίοις (lxx) Isa 59:18 sicut ad vindictam quasi ad retributionem indignationis hostibus suis, et vicissitudinem inimicis suis; insulis vicem reddet.(vulgate) Isa 59:18 als der seinen Widersachern vergelten und seinen Feinden mit Grimm bezahlen will; ja, den Inseln will er bezahlen,(dhs) Isa 59:18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:19 ============ Isa 59:19 So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west And His glory from the rising of the sun, For He will come like a rushing stream Which the wind of the Lord drives.(nasb) Isa 59:19 καὶ φοβηθήσονται οἱ ἀπὸ δυσμῶν τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου καὶ οἱ ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἔνδοξον ἥξει γὰρ ὡς ποταμὸς βίαιος ἡ ὀργὴ παρὰ κυρίου ἥξει μετὰ θυμοῦ (lxx) Isa 59:19 Et timebunt qui ab occidente nomen Domini, et qui ab ortu solis gloriam ejus, cum venerit quasi fluvius violentus quem spiritus Domini cogit;(vulgate) Isa 59:19 daß der Name des HERRN gefürchtet werde vom Niedergang und seine Herrlichkeit vom Aufgang der Sonne, wenn er kommen wird wie ein aufgehaltener Strom, den der Wind des HERRN treibt.(dhs) Isa 59:19 So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:20 ============ Isa 59:20 "A Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob," declares the Lord.(nasb) Isa 59:20 καὶ ἥξει ἕνεκεν Σιων ὁ ῥυόμενος καὶ ἀποστρέψει ἀσεβείας ἀπὸ Ιακωβ (lxx) Isa 59:20 et venerit Sion redemptor, et eis qui redeunt ab iniquitate in Jacob, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Isa 59:20 Denn denen zu Zion wird ein Erlöser kommen und denen, die sich bekehren von den Sünden in Jakob, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Isa 59:20 "The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 59:21 ============ Isa 59:21 "As for Me, this is My covenant with them," says the Lord: "My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring's offspring," says the Lord, "from now and forever."(nasb) Isa 59:21 καὶ αὕτη αὐτοῖς ἡ παρ᾽ ἐμοῦ διαθήκη εἶπεν κύριος τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐμόν ὅ ἐστιν ἐπὶ σοί καὶ τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἔδωκα εἰς τὸ στόμα σου οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ στόματος τοῦ σπέρματός σου εἶπεν γὰρ κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) Isa 59:21 Hoc fœdus meum cum eis, dicit Dominus: spiritus meus qui est in te, et verba mea quæ posui in ore tuo, non recedent de ore tuo, et de ore seminis tui, et de ore seminis seminis tui, dicit Dominus, amodo et usque in sempiternum.](vulgate) Isa 59:21 Und ich mache solchen Bund mit ihnen, spricht der HERR: mein Geist, der bei dir ist, und meine Worte, die ich in deinen Mund gelegt habe, sollen von deinem Munde nicht weichen noch von dem Munde deines Samens und Kindeskindes, spricht der HERR, von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.(dhs) Isa 59:21 "As for Me," says the Lord, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the Lord, "from this time and forevermore."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 60:1 ============ top of the page
