Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 36:1 ============ Jer 36:1 In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,(nasb) Jer 36:1 καὶ οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι τῆς βίβλου οὓς ἀπέστειλεν Ιερεμιας ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τῆς ἀποικίας καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἱερεῖς καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ψευδοπροφήτας ἐπιστολὴν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα τῇ ἀποικίᾳ καὶ πρὸς ἅπαντα τὸν λαὸν (lxx) Jer 36:1 Et factum est in anno quarto Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, factum est verbum hoc ad Jeremiam a Domino, dicens:(vulgate) Jer 36:1 Im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda, geschah dies Wort zu Jeremia vom HERRN und sprach:(dhs) Jer 36:1 Now it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying:(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:2 ============ Jer 36:2 "Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.(nasb) Jer 36:2 ὕστερον ἐξελθόντος Ιεχονιου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῆς βασιλίσσης καὶ τῶν εὐνούχων καὶ παντὸς ἐλευθέρου καὶ δεσμώτου καὶ τεχνίτου ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Jer 36:2 Tolle volumen libri, et scribes in eo omnia verba quæ locutus sum tibi adversum Israël et Judam, et adversum omnes gentes, a die qua locutus sum ad te ex diebus Josiæ usque ad diem hanc:(vulgate) Jer 36:2 Nimm ein Buch und schreibe darein alle Reden, die ich zu dir geredet habe über Israel, über Juda und alle Völker von der Zeit an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, nämlich von der Zeit Josias an bis auf diesen Tag;(dhs) Jer 36:2 "Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:3 ============ Jer 36:3 Perhaps the house of Judah will hear all the calamity which I plan to bring on them, in order that every man will turn from his evil way; then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin."(nasb) Jer 36:3 ἐν χειρὶ Ελεασα υἱοῦ Σαφαν καὶ Γαμαριου υἱοῦ Χελκιου ὃν ἀπέστειλεν Σεδεκιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πρὸς βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος εἰς Βαβυλῶνα λέγων (lxx) Jer 36:3 si forte, audiente domo Juda universa mala quæ ego cogito facere eis, revertatur unusquisque a via sua pessima, et propitius ero iniquitati et peccato eorum.(vulgate) Jer 36:3 ob vielleicht die vom Hause Juda, wo sie hören all das Unglück, das ich ihnen gedenke zu tun, sich bekehren wollten, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit ich ihnen ihre Missetat und Sünde vergeben könnte.(dhs) Jer 36:3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may turn from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:4 ============ Jer 36:4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him.(nasb) Jer 36:4 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐπὶ τὴν ἀποικίαν ἣν ἀπῴκισα ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Jer 36:4 Vocavit ergo Jeremias Baruch filium Neriæ: et scripsit Baruch ex ore Jeremiæ omnes sermones Domini quos locutus est ad eum, in volumine libri:(vulgate) Jer 36:4 Da rief Jeremia Baruch, den Sohn Nerias. Derselbe Baruch schrieb in ein Buch aus dem Munde Jeremia's alle Reden des HERRN, die er zu ihm geredet hatte.(dhs) Jer 36:4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote on a scroll of a book, at the instruction of Jeremiah, all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:5 ============ Jer 36:5 Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, "I am restricted; I cannot go into the house of the Lord.(nasb) Jer 36:5 οἰκοδομήσατε οἴκους καὶ κατοικήσατε καὶ φυτεύσατε παραδείσους καὶ φάγετε τοὺς καρποὺς αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 36:5 et præcepit Jeremias Baruch, dicens: Ego clausus sum, nec valeo ingredi domum Domini.(vulgate) Jer 36:5 Und Jeremia gebot Baruch und sprach: Ich bin gefangen, daß ich nicht kann in des HERRN Haus gehen.(dhs) Jer 36:5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, "I am confined, I cannot go into the house of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:6 ============ Jer 36:6 So you go and read from the scroll which you have written at my dictation the words of the Lord to the people in the Lord's house on a fast day. And also you shall read them to all the people of Judah who come from their cities.(nasb) Jer 36:6 καὶ λάβετε γυναῖκας καὶ τεκνοποιήσατε υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας καὶ λάβετε τοῖς υἱοῖς ὑμῶν γυναῖκας καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας ὑμῶν ἀνδράσιν δότε καὶ πληθύνεσθε καὶ μὴ σμικρυνθῆτε (lxx) Jer 36:6 Ingredere ergo tu, et lege de volumine in quo scripsisti ex ore meo verba Domini, audiente populo in domo Domini, in die jejunii: insuper et audiente universo Juda qui veniunt de civitatibus suis, leges eis,(vulgate) Jer 36:6 Du aber gehe hinein und lies das Buch, darein du des HERRN Reden aus meinem Munde geschrieben hast, vor dem Volk im Hause des HERRN am Fasttage, und sollst sie auch lesen vor den Ohren des ganzen Juda, die aus ihren Städten hereinkommen;(dhs) Jer 36:6 You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the Lord's house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:7 ============ Jer 36:7 Perhaps their supplication will come before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and the wrath that the Lord has pronounced against this people."(nasb) Jer 36:7 καὶ ζητήσατε εἰς εἰρήνην τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ἀπῴκισα ὑμᾶς ἐκεῖ καὶ προσεύξασθε περὶ αὐτῶν πρὸς κύριον ὅτι ἐν εἰρήνῃ αὐτῆς ἔσται εἰρήνη ὑμῖν (lxx) Jer 36:7 si forte cadat oratio eorum in conspectu Domini, et revertatur unusquisque a via sua pessima: quoniam magnus furor et indignatio est quam locutus est Dominus adversus populum hunc.(vulgate) Jer 36:7 ob sie vielleicht sich mit Beten vor dem HERRN demütigen wollen und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen; denn der Zorn und Grimm ist groß, davon der HERR wider dies Volk geredet hat.(dhs) Jer 36:7 It may be that they will present their supplication before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way. For great is the anger and the fury that the Lord has pronounced against this people."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:8 ============ Jer 36:8 Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading from the book the words of the Lord in the Lord's house.(nasb) Jer 36:8 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος μὴ ἀναπειθέτωσαν ὑμᾶς οἱ ψευδοπροφῆται οἱ ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ μὴ ἀναπειθέτωσαν ὑμᾶς οἱ μάντεις ὑμῶν καὶ μὴ ἀκούετε εἰς τὰ ἐνύπνια ὑμῶν ἃ ὑμεῖς ἐνυπνιάζεσθε (lxx) Jer 36:8 Et fecit Baruch filius Neriæ juxta omnia quæ præceperat ei Jeremias propheta, legens ex volumine sermones Domini in domo Domini.(vulgate) Jer 36:8 Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, tat alles, wie ihm der Prophet Jeremia befohlen hatte, daß er die Reden des HERRN aus dem Buche läse im Hause des HERRN.(dhs) Jer 36:8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading from the book the words of the Lord in the Lord's house.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:9 ============ Jer 36:9 Now in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem proclaimed a fast before the Lord.(nasb) Jer 36:9 ὅτι ἄδικα αὐτοὶ προφητεύουσιν ὑμῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου καὶ οὐκ ἀπέστειλα αὐτούς (lxx) Jer 36:9 Factum est autem in anno quinto Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, in mense nono: prædicaverunt jejunium in conspectu Domini omni populo in Jerusalem, et universæ multitudini quæ confluxerat de civitatibus Juda in Jerusalem.(vulgate) Jer 36:9 Es begab sich aber im fünften Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs Juda's, im neunten Monat, daß man ein Fasten verkündigte vor dem HERRN allem Volk zu Jerusalem und allem Volk, das aus den Städten Juda's gen Jerusalem kommt.(dhs) Jer 36:9 Now it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:10 ============ Jer 36:10 Then Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the New Gate of the Lord's house, to all the people.(nasb) Jer 36:10 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὅταν μέλλῃ πληροῦσθαι Βαβυλῶνι ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη ἐπισκέψομαι ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπιστήσω τοὺς λόγους μου ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τοῦ τὸν λαὸν ὑμῶν ἀποστρέψαι εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦτον (lxx) Jer 36:10 Legitque Baruch ex volumine sermones Jeremiæ in domo Domini, in gazophylacio Gamariæ filii Saphan scribæ, in vestibulo superiori, in introitu portæ novæ domus Domini, audiente omni populo.(vulgate) Jer 36:10 Und Baruch las aus dem Buche die Reden Jeremia's im Hause des HERRN, in der Kapelle Gemarjas, des Sohnes Saphans, des Kanzlers, im obern Vorhof, vor dem neuen Tor am Hause des HERRN, vor dem ganzen Volk.(dhs) Jer 36:10 Then Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court at the entry of the New Gate of the Lord's house, in the hearing of all the people.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:11 ============ Jer 36:11 Now when Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard all the words of the Lord from the book,(nasb) Jer 36:11 καὶ λογιοῦμαι ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς λογισμὸν εἰρήνης καὶ οὐ κακὰ τοῦ δοῦναι ὑμῖν ταῦτα (lxx) Jer 36:11 Cumque audisset Michæas filius Gamariæ filii Saphan omnes sermones Domini ex libro,(vulgate) Jer 36:11 Da nun Michaja, der Sohn Gemarjas, des Sohnes Saphans, alle Reden des HERRN gehört hatte aus dem Buche,(dhs) Jer 36:11 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the Lord from the book,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:12 ============ Jer 36:12 he went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber. And behold, all the officials were sitting there--Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.(nasb) Jer 36:12 καὶ προσεύξασθε πρός με καὶ εἰσακούσομαι ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 36:12 descendit in domum regis, ad gazophylacium scribæ, et ecce ibi omnes principes sedebant: Elisama scriba, et Dalaias filius Semeiæ, et Elnathan filius Achobor, et Gamarias filius Saphan, et Sedecias filius Hananiæ, et universi principes:(vulgate) Jer 36:12 ging er hinab in des Königs Haus, in die Kanzlei. Und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten: Elisama, der Kanzler, Delaja, der Sohn Semajas, Elnathan, der Sohn Achbors, Gemarja, der Sohn Saphans, und Zedekia, der Sohn Hananjas, samt allen Fürsten.(dhs) Jer 36:12 he then went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber; and there all the princes were sitting--Elishama the scribe, Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, Elnathan the son of Achbor, Gemariah the son of Shaphan, Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:13 ============ Jer 36:13 Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read from the book to the people.(nasb) Jer 36:13 καὶ ἐκζητήσατέ με καὶ εὑρήσετέ με ὅτι ζητήσετέ με ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 36:13 et nuntiavit eis Michæas omnia verba quæ audivit, legente Baruch ex volumine in auribus populi.(vulgate) Jer 36:13 Und Michaja zeigte ihnen an alle Reden, die er gehört hatte, da Baruch las aus dem Buche vor den Ohren des Volks.(dhs) Jer 36:13 Then Michaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read the book in the hearing of the people.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:14 ============ Jer 36:14 Then all the officials sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, "Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read to the people and come." So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and went to them.(nasb) Jer 36:14 καὶ ἐπιφανοῦμαι ὑμῖν (lxx) Jer 36:14 Miserunt itaque omnes principes ad Baruch Judi filium Nathaniæ filii Selemiæ filii Chusi, dicentes: Volumen ex quo legisti, audiente populo, sume in manu tua, et veni. Tulit ergo Baruch filius Neriæ volumen in manu sua, et venit ad eos:(vulgate) Jer 36:14 Da sandten alle Fürsten Judi, den Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohnes Selemjas, des Sohnes Chusis, nach Baruch und ließen ihm sagen: Nimm das Buch daraus du vor dem Volk gelesen hast, mit dir und komme! Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, nahm das Buch mit sich und kam zu ihnen.(dhs) Jer 36:14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, "Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read in the hearing of the people, and come." So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and came to them.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:15 ============ Jer 36:15 They said to him, "Sit down, please, and read it to us." So Baruch read it to them.(nasb) Jer 36:15 ὅτι εἴπατε κατέστησεν ἡμῖν κύριος προφήτας ἐν Βαβυλῶνι (lxx) Jer 36:15 et dixerunt ad eum: Sede, et lege hæc in auribus nostris. Et legit Baruch in auribus eorum.(vulgate) Jer 36:15 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich und lies, daß wir es hören! Und Baruch las ihnen vor ihren Ohren.(dhs) Jer 36:15 And they said to him, "Sit down now, and read it in our hearing." So Baruch read it in their hearing.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:16 ============ Jer 36:16 When they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one to another and said to Baruch, "We will surely report all these words to the king."(nasb) Jer 36:16 -- (lxx) Jer 36:16 Igitur cum audissent omnia verba, obstupuerunt unusquisque ad proximum suum, et dixerunt ad Baruch: Nuntiare debemus regi omnes sermones istos.(vulgate) Jer 36:16 Und da sie alle die Reden hörten, entsetzten sie sich einer gegen den andern und sprachen zu Baruch: Wir wollen alle diese Reden dem König anzeigen.(dhs) Jer 36:16 Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, that they looked in fear from one to another, and said to Baruch, "We will surely tell the king of all these words."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:17 ============ Jer 36:17 And they asked Baruch, saying, "Tell us, please, how did you write all these words? Was it at his dictation?"(nasb) Jer 36:17 -- (lxx) Jer 36:17 Et interrogaverunt eum, dicentes: Indica nobis quomodo scripsisti omnes sermones istos ex ore ejus.(vulgate) Jer 36:17 Und sie fragten Baruch: Sage uns, wie hast du alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde geschrieben?(dhs) Jer 36:17 And they asked Baruch, saying, "Tell us now, how did you write all these words--at his instruction?"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:18 ============ Jer 36:18 Then Baruch said to them, "He dictated all these words to me, and I wrote them with ink on the book."(nasb) Jer 36:18 -- (lxx) Jer 36:18 Dixit autem eis Baruch: Ex ore suo loquebatur quasi legens ad me omnes sermones istos, et ego scribebam in volumine atramento.(vulgate) Jer 36:18 Baruch sprach zu ihnen: Er sagte vor mir alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde, und ich schrieb sie mit Tinte ins Buch.(dhs) Jer 36:18 So Baruch answered them, "He proclaimed with his mouth all these words to me, and I wrote them with ink in the book."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:19 ============ Jer 36:19 Then the officials said to Baruch, "Go, hide yourself, you and Jeremiah, and do not let anyone know where you are."(nasb) Jer 36:19 -- (lxx) Jer 36:19 Et dixerunt principes ad Baruch: Vade, et abscondere, tu et Jeremias, et nemo sciat ubi sitis.(vulgate) Jer 36:19 Da sprachen die Fürsten zu Baruch: Gehe hin und verbirg dich mit Jeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid.(dhs) Jer 36:19 Then the princes said to Baruch, "Go and hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no one know where you are."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:20 ============ Jer 36:20 So they went to the king in the court, but they had deposited the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and they reported all the words to the king.(nasb) Jer 36:20 -- (lxx) Jer 36:20 Et ingressi sunt ad regem in atrium: porro volumen commendaverunt in gazophylacio Elisamæ scribæ, et nuntiaverunt, audiente rege, omnes sermones.(vulgate) Jer 36:20 Sie aber gingen hin zum König in den Vorhof und ließen das Buch behalten in der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers, und sagten vor dem König an alle diese Reden.(dhs) Jer 36:20 And they went to the king, into the court; but they stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the hearing of the king.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:21 ============ Jer 36:21 Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it to the king as well as to all the officials who stood beside the king.(nasb) Jer 36:21 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἐπὶ Αχιαβ καὶ ἐπὶ Σεδεκιαν ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτοὺς εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πατάξει αὐτοὺς κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 36:21 Misitque rex Judi ut sumeret volumen: qui tollens illud de gazophylacio Elisamæ scribæ, legit, audiente rege et universis principibus qui stabant circa regem.(vulgate) Jer 36:21 Da sandte der König den Judi, das Buch zu holen. Der nahm es aus der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers. Und Judi las vor dem König und allen Fürsten, die bei dem König standen.(dhs) Jer 36:21 So the king sent Jehudi to bring the scroll, and he took it from Elishama the scribe's chamber. ' "(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 36:32 ============ Jer 36:32 Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the son of Neriah, the scribe, and he wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.(nasb) Jer 36:32 διὰ τοῦτο οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπισκέψομαι ἐπὶ Σαμαιαν καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ γένος αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται αὐτῶν ἄνθρωπος ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν τοῦ ἰδεῖν τὰ ἀγαθά ἃ ἐγὼ ποιήσω ὑμῖν οὐκ ὄψονται (lxx) Jer 36:32 Jeremias autem tulit volumen aliud, et dedit illud Baruch filio Neriæ scribæ: qui scripsit in eo ex ore Jeremiæ omnes sermones libri quem combusserat Joakim rex Juda igni: et insuper additi sunt sermones multo plures quam antea fuerant.(vulgate) Jer 36:32 Da nahm Jeremia ein anderes Buch und gab's Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, dem Schreiber.
