Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 39:1 ============ Jer 39:1 Now when Jerusalem was captured in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it;(nasb) Jer 39:1 ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος παρὰ κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ δεκάτῳ τῷ βασιλεῖ Σεδεκια οὗτος ἐνιαυτὸς ὀκτωκαιδέκατος τῷ βασιλεῖ Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος (lxx) Jer 39:1 Anno nono Sedeciæ regis Juda, mense decimo, venit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, et omnis exercitus ejus, ad Jerusalem, et obsidebant eam.(vulgate) Jer 39:1 Und es geschah, daß Jerusalem gewonnen ward. Denn im neunten Jahr Zedekias, des Königs in Juda, im zehnten Monat, kam Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, und all sein Heer vor Jerusalem und belagerten es.(dhs) Jer 39:1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem, and besieged it.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:2 ============ Jer 39:2 in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the city wall was breached.(nasb) Jer 39:2 καὶ δύναμις βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος ἐχαράκωσεν ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ Ιερεμιας ἐφυλάσσετο ἐν αὐλῇ τῆς φυλακῆς ἥ ἐστιν ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ βασιλέως (lxx) Jer 39:2 Undecimo autem anno Sedeciæ, mense quarto, quinta mensis, aperta est civitas:(vulgate) Jer 39:2 Und im elften Jahr Zedekias, am neunten Tage des vierten Monats, brach man in die Stadt;(dhs) Jer 39:2 In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, the city was penetrated.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:3 ============ Jer 39:3 Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat down at the Middle Gate: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu, Sar-sekim the Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.(nasb) Jer 39:3 ἐν ᾗ κατέκλεισεν αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σεδεκιας λέγων διὰ τί σὺ προφητεύεις λέγων οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι τὴν πόλιν ταύτην ἐν χερσὶν βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ λήμψεται αὐτήν (lxx) Jer 39:3 et ingressi sunt omnes principes regis Babylonis, et sederunt in porta media: Neregel, Sereser, Semegarnabu, Sarsachim, Rabsares, Neregel, Sereser, Rebmag, et omnes reliqui principes regis Babylonis.(vulgate) Jer 39:3 und zogen hinein alle Fürsten des Königs zu Babel und hielten unter dem Mitteltor, nämlich Nergal-Sarezer, Samgar-Nebo, Sarsechim, der oberste Kämmerer, Nergal-Sarezer, der Oberste der Weisen, und alle andern Fürsten des Königs zu Babel.(dhs) Jer 39:3 Then all the princes of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer, Samgar-Nebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergal-Sarezer, Rabmag, with the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:4 ============ Jer 39:4 When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they fled and went out of the city at night by way of the king's garden through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.(nasb) Jer 39:4 καὶ Σεδεκιας οὐ μὴ σωθῇ ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν Χαλδαίων ὅτι παραδόσει παραδοθήσεται εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ λαλήσει στόμα αὐτοῦ πρὸς στόμα αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ὄψονται (lxx) Jer 39:4 Cumque vidisset eos Sedecias rex Juda, et omnes viri bellatores, fugerunt: et egressi sunt nocte de civitate per viam horti regis, et per portam quæ erat inter duos muros, et egressi sunt ad viam deserti.(vulgate) Jer 39:4 Als sie nun Zedekia, der König Juda's, sah samt seinen Kriegsleuten, flohen sie bei Nacht zur Stadt hinaus bei des Königs Garten durchs Tor zwischen den zwei Mauern und zogen des Weges zum blachen Feld.(dhs) Jer 39:4 So it was, when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, that they fled and went out of the city by night, by way of the king's garden, by the gate between the two walls. And he went out by way of the plain.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:5 ============ Jer 39:5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they seized him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.(nasb) Jer 39:5 καὶ εἰσελεύσεται Σεδεκιας εἰς Βαβυλῶνα καὶ ἐκεῖ καθιεῖται (lxx) Jer 39:5 Persecutus est autem eos exercitus Chaldæorum, et comprehenderunt Sedeciam in campo solitudinis Jerichontinæ, et captum adduxerunt ad Nabuchodonosor regem Babylonis, in Reblatha, quæ est in terra Emath: et locutus est ad eum judicia.(vulgate) Jer 39:5 Aber der Chaldäer Kriegsleute jagten ihnen nach und ergriffen Zedekia im Felde bei Jericho und fingen ihn und brachten ihn zu Nebukadnezar, dem König zu Babel, gen Ribla, das im Lande Hamath liegt; der sprach ein Urteil über ihn.(dhs) Jer 39:5 But the Chaldean army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. And when they had captured him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced judgment on him.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:6 ============ Jer 39:6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slew all the nobles of Judah.(nasb) Jer 39:6 καὶ λόγος κυρίου ἐγενήθη πρὸς Ιερεμιαν λέγων (lxx) Jer 39:6 Et occidit rex Babylonis filios Sedeciæ in Reblatha, in oculis ejus: et omnes nobiles Juda occidit rex Babylonis.(vulgate) Jer 39:6 Und der König zu Babel ließ die Söhne Zedekias vor seinen Augen töten zu Ribla und tötete alle Fürsten Juda's.(dhs) Jer 39:6 Then the king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes in Riblah; the king of Babylon also killed all the nobles of Judah.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:7 ============ Jer 39:7 He then blinded Zedekiah's eyes and bound him in fetters of bronze to bring him to Babylon.(nasb) Jer 39:7 ἰδοὺ Αναμεηλ υἱὸς Σαλωμ ἀδελφοῦ πατρός σου ἔρχεται πρὸς σὲ λέγων κτῆσαι σεαυτῷ τὸν ἀγρόν μου τὸν ἐν Αναθωθ ὅτι σοὶ κρίμα παραλαβεῖν εἰς κτῆσιν (lxx) Jer 39:7 Oculos quoque Sedeciæ eruit, et vinxit eum compedibus ut duceretur in Babylonem.(vulgate) Jer 39:7 Aber Zedekia ließ er die Augen ausstechen und ihn in Ketten binden, daß er ihn gen Babel führte.(dhs) Jer 39:7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with bronze fetters to carry him off to Babylon.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:8 ============ Jer 39:8 The Chaldeans also burned with fire the king's palace and the houses of the people, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.(nasb) Jer 39:8 καὶ ἦλθεν πρός με Αναμεηλ υἱὸς Σαλωμ ἀδελφοῦ πατρός μου εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τῆς φυλακῆς καὶ εἶπέν μοι κτῆσαι τὸν ἀγρόν μου τὸν ἐν γῇ Βενιαμιν τὸν ἐν Αναθωθ ὅτι σοὶ κρίμα κτήσασθαι καὶ σὺ πρεσβύτερος καὶ ἔγνων ὅτι λόγος κυρίου ἐστίν (lxx) Jer 39:8 Domum quoque regis et domum vulgi succenderunt Chaldæi igni, et murum Jerusalem subverterunt.(vulgate) Jer 39:8 Und die Chaldäer verbrannten beide, des Königs Haus und der Bürger Häuser, und zerbrachen die Mauern zu Jerusalem.(dhs) Jer 39:8 And the Chaldeans burned the king's house and the houses of the people with fire, and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:9 ============ Jer 39:9 As for the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to him and the rest of the people who remained, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard carried them into exile in Babylon.(nasb) Jer 39:9 καὶ ἐκτησάμην τὸν ἀγρὸν Αναμεηλ υἱοῦ ἀδελφοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ἔστησα αὐτῷ ἑπτὰ σίκλους καὶ δέκα ἀργυρίου (lxx) Jer 39:9 Et reliquias populi qui remanserant in civitate, et perfugas qui transfugerant ad eum, et superfluos vulgi qui remanserant, transtulit Nabuzardan, magister militum, in Babylonem.(vulgate) Jer 39:9 Was aber noch von Volk in der Stadt war, und was sonst zu ihnen gefallen war, die führte Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann der Trabanten, alle miteinander gen Babel gefangen.(dhs) Jer 39:9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive to Babylon the remnant of the people who remained in the city and those who defected to him, with the rest of the people who remained.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:10 ============ Jer 39:10 But some of the poorest people who had nothing, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard left behind in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at that time.(nasb) Jer 39:10 καὶ ἔγραψα εἰς βιβλίον καὶ ἐσφραγισάμην καὶ διεμαρτυράμην μάρτυρας καὶ ἔστησα τὸ ἀργύριον ἐν ζυγῷ (lxx) Jer 39:10 Et de plebe pauperum, qui nihil penitus habebant, dimisit Nabuzardan magister militum in terra Juda, et dedit eis vineas et cisternas in die illa.(vulgate) Jer 39:10 Aber von dem geringen Volk, das nichts hatte, ließ zu derselben Zeit Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, etliche im Lande Juda und gab ihnen Weinberge und Felder.(dhs) Jer 39:10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left in the land of Judah the poor people, who had nothing, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:11 ============ Jer 39:11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, saying,(nasb) Jer 39:11 καὶ ἔλαβον τὸ βιβλίον τῆς κτήσεως τὸ ἐσφραγισμένον καὶ τὸ ἀνεγνωσμένον (lxx) Jer 39:11 Præceperat autem Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis de Jeremia Nabuzardan magistro militum, dicens:(vulgate) Jer 39:11 Aber Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, hatte Nebusaradan, dem Hauptmann, befohlen von Jeremia und gesagt:(dhs) Jer 39:11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:12 ============ Jer 39:12 "Take him and look after him, and do nothing harmful to him, but rather deal with him just as he tells you."(nasb) Jer 39:12 καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτὸ τῷ Βαρουχ υἱῷ Νηριου υἱοῦ Μαασαιου κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς Αναμεηλ υἱοῦ ἀδελφοῦ πατρός μου καὶ κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς τῶν ἑστηκότων καὶ γραφόντων ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς κτήσεως καὶ κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς τῶν Ιουδαίων τῶν ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῆς φυλακῆς (lxx) Jer 39:12 Tolle illum, et pone super eum oculos tuos, nihilque ei mali facias: sed ut voluerit, sic facias ei.(vulgate) Jer 39:12 Nimm ihn und laß ihn dir befohlen sein und tu ihm kein Leid; sondern wie er's von dir begehrt, so mache es mit ihm.(dhs) Jer 39:12 "Take him and look after him, and do him no harm; but do to him just as he says to you."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:13 ============ Jer 39:13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard sent word, along with Nebushazban the Rab-saris, and Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, and all the leading officers of the king of Babylon;(nasb) Jer 39:13 καὶ συνέταξα τῷ Βαρουχ κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν λέγων (lxx) Jer 39:13 Misit ergo Nabuzardan princeps militiæ, et Nabusezban, et Rabsares, et Neregel, et Sereser, et Rebmag, et omnes optimates regis Babylonis,(vulgate) Jer 39:13 Da sandten hin Nebusaradan, der Hauptmann, und Nebusasban, der oberste Kämmerer, Nergal-Sarezer, der Oberste der Weisen, und alle Fürsten des Königs zu Babel(dhs) Jer 39:13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent Nebushasban, Rabsaris, Nergal-Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon's chief officers;(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:14 ============ Jer 39:14 they even sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guardhouse and entrusted him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he stayed among the people.(nasb) Jer 39:14 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος παντοκράτωρ λαβὲ τὸ βιβλίον τῆς κτήσεως τοῦτο καὶ τὸ βιβλίον τὸ ἀνεγνωσμένον καὶ θήσεις αὐτὸ εἰς ἀγγεῖον ὀστράκινον ἵνα διαμείνῃ ἡμέρας πλείους (lxx) Jer 39:14 miserunt, et tulerunt Jeremiam de vestibulo carceris, et tradiderunt eum Godoliæ filio Ahicam filii Saphan, ut intraret in domum, et habitaret in populo.(vulgate) Jer 39:14 und ließen Jeremia holen aus dem Vorhof des Gefängnisses und befahlen ihn Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, daß er ihn hinaus in sein Haus führte. Und er blieb bei dem Volk.(dhs) Jer 39:14 then they sent someone to take Jeremiah from the court of the prison, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should take him home. So he dwelt among the people.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:15 ============ Jer 39:15 Now the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was confined in the court of the guardhouse, saying,(nasb) Jer 39:15 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἔτι κτηθήσονται ἀγροὶ καὶ οἰκίαι καὶ ἀμπελῶνες ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ (lxx) Jer 39:15 Ad Jeremiam autem factus fuerat sermo Domini, cum clausus esset in vestibulo carceris, dicens:(vulgate) Jer 39:15 Es war auch des HERRN Wort geschehen zu Jeremia, als er noch im Vorhof des Gefängnisses gefangen lag, und hatte gesprochen:(dhs) Jer 39:15 Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:16 ============ Jer 39:16 "Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel," Behold, I am about to bring My words on this city for disaster and not for prosperity; and they will take place before you on that day.(nasb) Jer 39:16 καὶ προσευξάμην πρὸς κύριον μετὰ τὸ δοῦναί με τὸ βιβλίον τῆς κτήσεως πρὸς Βαρουχ υἱὸν Νηριου λέγων (lxx) Jer 39:16 Vade, et dic Abdemelech Æthiopi, dicens: Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël: Ecce ego inducam sermones meos super civitatem hanc in malum, et non in bonum, et erunt in conspectu tuo in die illa.(vulgate) Jer 39:16 Gehe hin und sage Ebed-Melech, dem Mohren: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: siehe, ich will meine Worte kommen lassen über diese Stadt zum Unglück und zu keinem Guten, und du sollst es sehen zur selben Zeit.(dhs) Jer 39:16 "Go and speak to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: "Behold, I will bring My words upon this city for adversity and not for good, and they shall be performed in that day before you.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:17 ============ Jer 39:17 But I will deliver you on that day," declares the Lord,"and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you dread.(nasb) Jer 39:17 ὦ κύριε σὺ ἐποίησας τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν τῇ ἰσχύι σου τῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ τῷ βραχίονί σου τῷ ὑψηλῷ καὶ τῷ μετεώρῳ οὐ μὴ ἀποκρυβῇ ἀπὸ σοῦ οὐθέν (lxx) Jer 39:17 Et liberabo te in die illa, ait Dominus, et non traderis in manus virorum quos tu formidas:(vulgate) Jer 39:17 Aber dich will ich erretten zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR, und sollst den Leuten nicht zuteil werden, vor welchen du dich fürchtest.(dhs) Jer 39:17 But I will deliver you in that day," says the Lord, "and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 39:18 ============ Jer 39:18 For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not fall by the sword; but you will have your own life as booty, because you have trusted in Me," declares the Lord.'"(nasb) Jer 39:18 ποιῶν ἔλεος εἰς χιλιάδας καὶ ἀποδιδοὺς ἁμαρτίας πατέρων εἰς κόλπους τέκνων αὐτῶν μετ᾽ αὐτούς ὁ θεὸς ὁ μέγας καὶ ἰσχυρός (lxx) Jer 39:18 sed eruens liberabo te, et gladio non cades, sed erit tibi anima tua in salutem, quia in me habuisti fiduciam, ait Dominus.(vulgate) Jer 39:18 Denn ich will dir davonhelfen, daß du nicht durchs Schwert fällst, sondern sollst dein Leben wie eine Beute davonbringen, darum daß du mir vertraut hast, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Jer 39:18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me," says the Lord.'
