Today's Date: ======= Ezekiel 18:1 ============ Eze 18:1 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,(nasb) Eze 18:1 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (lxx) Eze 18:1 Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens:(vulgate) Eze 18:1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:(dhs) Eze 18:1 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:2 ============ Eze 18:2 "What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, 'The fathers eat the sour grapes, But the children's teeth are set on edge'?(nasb) Eze 18:2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου τί ὑμῖν ἡ παραβολὴ αὕτη ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ λέγοντες οἱ πατέρες ἔφαγον ὄμφακα καὶ οἱ ὀδόντες τῶν τέκνων ἐγομφίασαν (lxx) Eze 18:2 Quid est quod inter vos parabolam vertitis in proverbium istud in terra Israël, dicentes: Patres comederunt uvam acerbam, et dentes filiorum obstupescunt?(vulgate) Eze 18:2 Was treibt ihr unter euch im Lande Israel dies Sprichwort und sprecht: "Die Väter haben Herlinge gegessen, aber den Kindern sind die Zähne davon stumpf geworden"?(dhs) Eze 18:2 "What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying: 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children's teeth are set on edge'?(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:3 ============ Eze 18:3 As I live," declares the Lord God, "you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore.(nasb) Eze 18:3 ζῶ ἐγώ λέγει κύριος ἐὰν γένηται ἔτι λεγομένη ἡ παραβολὴ αὕτη ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ (lxx) Eze 18:3 Vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, si erit ultra vobis parabola hæc in proverbium in Israël.(vulgate) Eze 18:3 So wahr als ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, solches Sprichwort soll nicht mehr unter euch gehen in Israel.(dhs) Eze 18:3 "As I live," says the Lord God, "you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:4 ============ Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.(nasb) Eze 18:4 ὅτι πᾶσαι αἱ ψυχαὶ ἐμαί εἰσιν ὃν τρόπον ἡ ψυχὴ τοῦ πατρός οὕτως καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ τοῦ υἱοῦ ἐμαί εἰσιν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡ ἁμαρτάνουσα αὕτη ἀποθανεῖται (lxx) Eze 18:4 Ecce omnes animæ meæ sunt: ut anima patris, ita et anima filii mea est: anima quæ peccaverit, ipsa morietur.(vulgate) Eze 18:4 Denn siehe, alle Seelen sind mein; des Vaters Seele ist sowohl mein als des Sohnes Seele. Welche Seele sündigt, die soll sterben.(dhs) Eze 18:4 "Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:5 ============ Eze 18:5 "But if a man is righteous and practices justice and righteousness,(nasb) Eze 18:5 ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἔσται δίκαιος ὁ ποιῶν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην (lxx) Eze 18:5 Et vir si fuerit justus, et fecerit judicium et justitiam,(vulgate) Eze 18:5 Wenn nun einer fromm ist, der recht und wohl tut,(dhs) Eze 18:5 But if a man is just And does what is lawful and right;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:6 ============ Eze 18:6 and does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period--(nasb) Eze 18:6 ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων οὐ φάγεται καὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ἐπάρῃ πρὸς τὰ ἐνθυμήματα οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ μιάνῃ καὶ πρὸς γυναῖκα ἐν ἀφέδρῳ οὖσαν οὐ προσεγγιεῖ (lxx) Eze 18:6 in montibus non comederit, et oculos suos non levaverit ad idola domus Israël: et uxorem proximi sui non violaverit, et ad mulierem menstruatam non accesserit:(vulgate) Eze 18:6 der auf den Bergen nicht isset, der seine Augen nicht aufhebt zu den Götzen des Hauses Israel und seines Nächsten Weib nicht befleckt und liegt nicht bei der Frau in ihrer Krankheit,(dhs) Eze 18:6 If he has not eaten on the mountains, Nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, Nor defiled his neighbor's wife, Nor approached a woman during her impurity;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:7 ============ Eze 18:7 if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing,(nasb) Eze 18:7 καὶ ἄνθρωπον οὐ μὴ καταδυναστεύσῃ ἐνεχυρασμὸν ὀφείλοντος ἀποδώσει καὶ ἅρπαγμα οὐχ ἁρπᾶται τὸν ἄρτον αὐτοῦ τῷ πεινῶντι δώσει καὶ γυμνὸν περιβαλεῖ (lxx) Eze 18:7 et hominem non contristaverit, pignus debitori reddiderit, per vim nihil rapuerit: panem suum esurienti dederit, et nudum operuerit vestimento:(vulgate) Eze 18:7 der niemand beschädigt, der dem Schuldner sein Pfand wiedergibt, der niemand etwas mit Gewalt nimmt, der dem Hungrigen sein Brot mitteilt und den Nackten kleidet,(dhs) Eze 18:7 If he has not oppressed anyone, But has restored to the debtor his pledge; Has robbed no one by violence, But has given his bread to the hungry And covered the naked with clothing;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:8 ============ Eze 18:8 if he does not lend money on interest or take increase, if he keeps his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between man and man,(nasb) Eze 18:8 καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τόκῳ οὐ δώσει καὶ πλεονασμὸν οὐ λήμψεται καὶ ἐξ ἀδικίας ἀποστρέψει τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ κρίμα δίκαιον ποιήσει ἀνὰ μέσον ἀνδρὸς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Eze 18:8 ad usuram non commodaverit, et amplius non acceperit: ab iniquitate averterit manum suam, et judicium verum fecerit inter virum et virum:(vulgate) Eze 18:8 der nicht wuchert, der nicht Zins nimmt, der seine Hand vom Unrechten kehrt, der zwischen den Leuten recht urteilt,(dhs) Eze 18:8 If he has not exacted usury Nor taken any increase, But has withdrawn his hand from iniquity And executed true judgment between man and man;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:9 ============ Eze 18:9 if he walks in My statutes and My ordinances so as to deal faithfully--he is righteous and will surely live," declares the Lord God.(nasb) Eze 18:9 καὶ τοῖς προστάγμασίν μου πεπόρευται καὶ τὰ δικαιώματά μου πεφύλακται τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτά δίκαιος οὗτός ἐστιν ζωῇ ζήσεται λέγει κύριος (lxx) Eze 18:9 in præceptis meis ambulaverit, et judicia mea custodierit, ut faciat veritatem: hic justus est; vita vivet, ait Dominus Deus.(vulgate) Eze 18:9 der nach meinen Rechten wandelt und meine Gebote hält, daß er ernstlich darnach tue: das ist ein frommer Mann, der soll das leben haben, spricht der HERR HERR.(dhs) Eze 18:9 If he has walked in My statutes And kept My judgments faithfully-- He is just; He shall surely live!" Says the Lord God.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:10 ============ Eze 18:10 "Then he may have a violent son who sheds blood and who does any of these things to a brother(nasb) Eze 18:10 καὶ ἐὰν γεννήσῃ υἱὸν λοιμὸν ἐκχέοντα αἷμα καὶ ποιοῦντα ἁμαρτήματα (lxx) Eze 18:10 Quod si genuerit filium latronem, effundentem sanguinem, et fecerit unum de istis:(vulgate) Eze 18:10 Wenn er aber einen Sohn zeugt, und derselbe wird ein Mörder, der Blut vergießt oder dieser Stücke eins tut,(dhs) Eze 18:10 "If he begets a son who is a robber Or a shedder of blood, Who does any of these things(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:11 ============ Eze 18:11 (though he himself did not do any of these things), that is, he even eats at the mountain shrines, and defiles his neighbor's wife,(nasb) Eze 18:11 ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ τοῦ δικαίου οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων ἔφαγεν καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐμίανεν (lxx) Eze 18:11 et hæc quidem omnia non facientem, sed in montibus comedentem, et uxorem proximi sui polluentem:(vulgate) Eze 18:11 und der andern Stücke keins tut, sondern auf den Bergen isset und seines Nächsten Weib befleckt,(dhs) Eze 18:11 And does none of those duties, But has eaten on the mountains Or defiled his neighbor's wife;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:12 ============ Eze 18:12 oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore a pledge, but lifts up his eyes to the idols and commits abomination,(nasb) Eze 18:12 καὶ πτωχὸν καὶ πένητα κατεδυνάστευσεν καὶ ἅρπαγμα ἥρπασεν καὶ ἐνεχυρασμὸν οὐκ ἀπέδωκεν καὶ εἰς τὰ εἴδωλα ἔθετο τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ἀνομίαν πεποίηκεν (lxx) Eze 18:12 egenum et pauperem contristantem, rapientem rapinas, pignus non reddentem, et ad idola levantem oculos suos, abominationem facientem:(vulgate) Eze 18:12 die Armen und Elenden beschädigt, mit Gewalt etwas nimmt, das Pfand nicht wiedergibt, seine Augen zu den Götzen aufhebt und einen Greuel begeht,(dhs) Eze 18:12 If he has oppressed the poor and needy, Robbed by violence, Not restored the pledge, Lifted his eyes to the idols, Or committed abomination;(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:13 ============ Eze 18:13 he lends money on interest and takes increase; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death; his blood will be on his own head.(nasb) Eze 18:13 μετὰ τόκου ἔδωκε καὶ πλεονασμὸν ἔλαβεν οὗτος ζωῇ οὐ ζήσεται πάσας τὰς ἀνομίας ταύτας ἐποίησεν θανάτῳ θανατωθήσεται τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἔσται (lxx) Eze 18:13 ad usuram dantem, et amplius accipientem: numquid vivet? Non vivet: cum universa hæc detestanda fecerit, morte morietur; sanguis ejus in ipso erit.(vulgate) Eze 18:13 auf Wucher gibt, Zins nimmt: sollte der Leben? 'When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has observed all My statutes and done them, he shall surely live.(nasb) Eze 18:19 καὶ ἐρεῖτε τί ὅτι οὐκ ἔλαβεν τὴν ἀδικίαν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ὁ υἱὸς δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἔλεος ἐποίησεν πάντα τὰ νόμιμά μου συνετήρησεν καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτά ζωῇ ζήσεται (lxx) Eze 18:19 Et dicitis: Quare non portavit filius iniquitatem patris? Videlicet quia filius judicium et justitiam operatus est, omnia præcepta mea custodivit, et fecit illa, vivet vita.(vulgate) Eze 18:19 So sprecht ihr: Warum soll denn ein Sohn nicht tragen seines Vaters Missetat? Darum daß er recht und wohl getan und alle meine Rechte gehalten und getan hat, soll er leben.(dhs) Eze 18:19 "Yet you say, 'Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?' Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:20 ============ Eze 18:20 The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.(nasb) Eze 18:20 ἡ δὲ ψυχὴ ἡ ἁμαρτάνουσα ἀποθανεῖται ὁ δὲ υἱὸς οὐ λήμψεται τὴν ἀδικίαν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ὁ πατὴρ λήμψεται τὴν ἀδικίαν τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ δικαιοσύνη δικαίου ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἔσται καὶ ἀνομία ἀνόμου ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἔσται (lxx) Eze 18:20 Anima quæ peccaverit, ipsa morietur: filius non portabit iniquitatem patris, et pater non portabit iniquitatem filii: justitia justi super eum erit, et impietas impii erit super eum.~(vulgate) Eze 18:20 Denn welche Seele sündigt, die soll sterben. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:21 ============ Eze 18:21 "But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.(nasb) Eze 18:21 καὶ ὁ ἄνομος ἐὰν ἀποστρέψῃ ἐκ πασῶν τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτοῦ ὧν ἐποίησεν καὶ φυλάξηται πάσας τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ ποιήσῃ δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἔλεος ζωῇ ζήσεται οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ (lxx) Eze 18:21 Si autem impius egerit pœnitentiam ab omnibus peccatis suis quæ operatus est, et custodierit omnia præcepta mea, et fecerit judicium et justitiam, vita vivet, et non morietur.(vulgate) Eze 18:21 Wo sich aber der Gottlose bekehrt von allen seine Sünden, die er getan hat, und hält alle meine Rechte und tut recht und wohl, so soll er leben und nicht sterben.(dhs) Eze 18:21 "But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:22 ============ Eze 18:22 All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.(nasb) Eze 18:22 πάντα τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐ μνησθήσεται ἐν τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ αὐτοῦ ᾗ ἐποίησεν ζήσεται (lxx) Eze 18:22 Omnium iniquitatum ejus quas operatus est, non recordabor: in justitia sua quam operatus est, vivet.(vulgate) Eze 18:22 Es soll aller seiner Übertretung, so er begangen hat, nicht gedacht werden; sondern er soll leben um der Gerechtigkeit willen, die er tut.(dhs) Eze 18:22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:23 ============ Eze 18:23 Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord God, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?(nasb) Eze 18:23 μὴ θελήσει θελήσω τὸν θάνατον τοῦ ἀνόμου λέγει κύριος ὡς τὸ ἀποστρέψαι αὐτὸν ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ ζῆν αὐτόν (lxx) Eze 18:23 Numquid voluntatis meæ est mors impii, dicit Dominus Deus, et non ut convertatur a viis suis, et vivat?(vulgate) Eze 18:23 Meinest du, daß ich Gefallen habe am Tode des Gottlosen, spricht der HERR, und nicht vielmehr, daß er sich bekehre von seinem Wesen und lebe?(dhs) Eze 18:23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord God, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live?(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 18:24 ============ Eze 18:24 "But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live?
