Today's Date: ======= Daniel 10:1 ============ Dan 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar; and the message was true and one of great conflict, but he understood the message and had an understanding of the vision.(nasb) Dan 10:1 ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ πρώτῳ Κύρου τοῦ βασιλέως Περσῶν πρόσταγμα ἐδείχθη τῷ Δανιηλ ὃς ἐπεκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα Βαλτασαρ καὶ ἀληθὲς τὸ ὅραμα καὶ τὸ πρόσταγμα καὶ τὸ πλῆθος τὸ ἰσχυρὸν διανοηθήσεται τὸ πρόσταγμα καὶ διενοήθην αὐτὸ ἐν ὁράματι (lxx) Dan 10:1 Anno tertio Cyri regis Persarum, verbum revelatum est Danieli cognomento Baltassar, et verbum verum, et fortitudo magna: intellexitque sermonem: intelligentia enim est opus in visione.(vulgate) Dan 10:1 Im dritten Jahr des Königs Kores aus Persien ward dem Dan el, der Beltsazar heißt, etwas offenbart, das gewiß ist und von großen Sachen; und er merkte darauf und verstand das Gesicht wohl.(dhs) Dan 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:2 ============ Dan 10:2 In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks.(nasb) Dan 10:2 ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἐγὼ Δανιηλ ἤμην πενθῶν τρεῖς ἑβδομάδας (lxx) Dan 10:2 In diebus illis ego Daniel lugebam trium hebdomadarum diebus:(vulgate) Dan 10:2 Zur selben Zeit war ich, Dan el, traurig drei Wochen lang.(dhs) Dan 10:2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:3 ============ Dan 10:3 I did not eat any tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed.(nasb) Dan 10:3 ἄρτον ἐπιθυμιῶν οὐκ ἔφαγον καὶ κρέας καὶ οἶνος οὐκ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸ στόμα μου ἔλαιον οὐκ ἠλειψάμην ἕως τοῦ συντελέσαι με τὰς τρεῖς ἑβδομάδας τῶν ἡμερῶν (lxx) Dan 10:3 panem desiderabilem non comedi, et caro et vinum non introierunt in os meum, sed neque unguento unctus sum, donec complerentur trium hebdomadarum dies.(vulgate) Dan 10:3 Ich aß keine leckere Speise, Fleisch und Wein kam nicht in meinen Mund, und salbte mich auch nie, bis die drei Wochen um waren.(dhs) Dan 10:3 I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:4 ============ Dan 10:4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris,(nasb) Dan 10:4 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τετάρτῃ καὶ εἰκάδι τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου καὶ ἐγὼ ἤμην ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου ὅς ἐστι Τίγρης (lxx) Dan 10:4 Die autem vigesima et quarta mensis primi, eram juxta fluvium magnum, qui est Tigris.(vulgate) Dan 10:4 Und am vierundzwanzigsten Tage des Monats war ich bei dem großen Wasser Hiddekkel(dhs) Dan 10:4 Now on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, that is, the Tigris,(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:5 ============ Dan 10:5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, whose waist was girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz.(nasb) Dan 10:5 καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος εἷς ἐνδεδυμένος βύσσινα καὶ τὴν ὀσφὺν περιεζωσμένος βυσσίνῳ καὶ ἐκ μέσου αὐτοῦ φῶς (lxx) Dan 10:5 Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi: et ecce vir unus vestitus lineis, et renes ejus accincti auro obrizo:(vulgate) Dan 10:5 und hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, da stand ein Mann in Leinwand und hatte einen goldenen Gürtel um seine Lenden.(dhs) Dan 10:5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz!(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:6 ============ Dan 10:6 His body also was like beryl, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a tumult.(nasb) Dan 10:6 καὶ τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ θαρσις καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ ὅρασις ἀστραπῆς καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ λαμπάδες πυρός καὶ οἱ βραχίονες αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ πόδες ὡσεὶ χαλκὸς ἐξαστράπτων καὶ φωνὴ λαλιᾶς αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ φωνὴ θορύβου (lxx) Dan 10:6 et corpus ejus quasi chrysolithus, et facies ejus velut species fulguris, et oculi ejus ut lampas ardens: et brachia ejus, et quae deorsum sunt usque ad pedes, quasi species aeris candentis: et vox sermonum ejus ut vox multitudinis.(vulgate) Dan 10:6 Sein Leib war wie Türkis, sein Antlitz wie ein Blitz, seine Augen wie feurige Fackeln, seine Arme und Füße wie helles, glattes Erz, und seine Rede war wie ein großes Getön.(dhs) Dan 10:6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:7 ============ Dan 10:7 Now I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, while the men who were with me did not see the vision; nevertheless, a great dread fell on them, and they ran away to hide themselves.(nasb) Dan 10:7 καὶ εἶδον ἐγὼ Δανιηλ τὴν ὅρασιν τὴν μεγάλην ταύτην καὶ οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ὄντες μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ οὐκ εἴδοσαν τὴν ὅρασιν ταύτην καὶ φόβος ἰσχυρὸς ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς καὶ ἀπέδρασαν ἐν σπουδῇ (lxx) Dan 10:7 Vidi autem ego Daniel solus visionem: porro viri qui erant mecum non viderunt, sed terror nimius irruit super eos, et fugerunt in absconditum.(vulgate) Dan 10:7 Ich, Dan el, aber sah solch Gesicht allein, und die Männer, so bei mir waren, sahen's nicht; doch fiel ein großer Schrecken über sie, daß sie flohen und sich verkrochen.(dhs) Dan 10:7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great terror fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:8 ============ Dan 10:8 So I was left alone and saw this great vision; yet no strength was left in me, for my natural color turned to a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength.(nasb) Dan 10:8 καὶ ἐγὼ κατελείφθην μόνος καὶ εἶδον τὴν ὅρασιν τὴν μεγάλην ταύτην καὶ οὐκ ἐγκατελείφθη ἐν ἐμοὶ ἰσχύς καὶ ἰδοὺ πνεῦμα ἐπεστράφη ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ εἰς φθοράν καὶ οὐ κατίσχυσα (lxx) Dan 10:8 Ego autem relictus solus vidi visionem grandem hanc: et non remansit in me fortitudo, sed et species mea immutata est in me, et emarcui, nec habui quidquam virium.(vulgate) Dan 10:8 Und ich blieb allein und sah dies große Gesicht. Es blieb aber keine Kraft in mir, und ich ward sehr entstellt und hatte keine Kraft mehr.(dhs) Dan 10:8 Therefore I was left alone when I saw this great vision, and no strength remained in me; for my vigor was turned to frailty in me, and I retained no strength.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:9 ============ Dan 10:9 But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.(nasb) Dan 10:9 καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσα τὴν φωνὴν λαλιᾶς αὐτοῦ ἐγὼ ἤμην πεπτωκὼς ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν (lxx) Dan 10:9 Et audivi vocem sermonum ejus: et audiens jacebam consternatus super faciem meam, et vultus meus haerebat terrae.(vulgate) Dan 10:9 Und ich hörte seine Rede; und in dem ich sie hörte, sank ich ohnmächtig auf mein Angesicht zur Erde.(dhs) Dan 10:9 Yet I heard the sound of his words; and while I heard the sound of his words I was in a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:10 ============ Dan 10:10 Then behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.(nasb) Dan 10:10 καὶ ἰδοὺ χεῖρα προσήγαγέ μοι καὶ ἤγειρέ με ἐπὶ τῶν γονάτων ἐπὶ τὰ ἴχνη τῶν ποδῶν μου (lxx) Dan 10:10 Et ecce manus tetigit me, et erexit me super genua mea, et super articulos manuum mearum.(vulgate) Dan 10:10 Und siehe, eine Hand rührte mich an und half mir auf die Kniee und auf die Hände,(dhs) Dan 10:10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:11 ============ Dan 10:11 He said to me, "O Daniel, man of high esteem, understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you." And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.(nasb) Dan 10:11 καὶ εἶπέν μοι Δανιηλ ἄνθρωπος ἐλεεινὸς εἶ διανοήθητι τοῖς προστάγμασιν οἷς ἐγὼ λαλῶ ἐπὶ σέ καὶ στῆθι ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου σου ἄρτι γὰρ ἀπεστάλην ἐπὶ σέ καὶ ἐν τῷ λαλῆσαι αὐτὸν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὸ πρόσταγμα τοῦτο ἔστην τρέμων (lxx) Dan 10:11 Et dixit ad me: Daniel vir desideriorum, intellige verba quae ego loquor ad te, et sta in gradu tuo: nunc enim sum missus ad te. Cumque dixisset mihi sermonem istum, steti tremens.(vulgate) Dan 10:11 und er sprach zu mir: Du, lieber Dan el, merke auf die Worte, die ich mit dir rede, und richte dich auf; denn ich bin jetzt zu dir gesandt. Und da er solches mit mir redete, richtete ich mich auf und zitterte.(dhs) Dan 10:11 And he said to me, "O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you." While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:12 ============ Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.(nasb) Dan 10:12 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με μὴ φοβοῦ Δανιηλ ὅτι ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας τῆς πρώτης ἧς ἔδωκας τὸ πρόσωπόν σου διανοηθῆναι καὶ ταπεινωθῆναι ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου εἰσηκούσθη τὸ ῥῆμά σου καὶ ἐγὼ εἰσῆλθον ἐν τῷ ῥήματί σου (lxx) Dan 10:12 Et ait ad me: Noli metuere, Daniel: quia ex die primo, quo posuisti cor tuum ad intelligendum ut te affligeres in conspectu Dei tui, exaudita sunt verba tua: et ego veni propter sermones tuos.(vulgate) Dan 10:12 Und er sprach zu mir: Fürchte dich nicht, Dan el; denn von dem ersten Tage an, da du von Herzen begehrtest zu verstehen und dich kasteitest vor deinem Gott, sind deine Worte erhört; und ich bin gekommen um deinetwillen.(dhs) Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:13 ============ Dan 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.(nasb) Dan 10:13 καὶ ὁ στρατηγὸς βασιλέως Περσῶν ἀνθειστήκει ἐναντίον μου εἴκοσι καὶ μίαν ἡμέραν καὶ ἰδοὺ Μιχαηλ εἷς τῶν ἀρχόντων τῶν πρώτων ἐπῆλθε βοηθῆσαί μοι καὶ αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ κατέλιπον μετὰ τοῦ στρατηγοῦ τοῦ βασιλέως Περσῶν (lxx) Dan 10:13 Princeps autem regni Persarum restitit mihi viginti et uno diebus: et ecce Michael, unus de principibus primis, venit in adjutorium meum, et ego remansi ibi juxta regem Persarum.(vulgate) Dan 10:13 Aber der Fürst des Königreiches im Perserland hat mir einundzwanzig Tage widerstanden; und siehe, Michael, der vornehmsten Fürsten einer, kam mir zu Hilfe; da behielt ich den Sieg bei den Königen in Persien.(dhs) Dan 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:14 ============ Dan 10:14 Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future."(nasb) Dan 10:14 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ἦλθον ὑποδεῖξαί σοι τί ὑπαντήσεται τῷ λαῷ σου ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν ἔτι γὰρ ὅρασις εἰς ἡμέρας (lxx) Dan 10:14 Veni autem ut docerem te quae ventura sunt populo tuo in novissimis diebus, quoniam adhuc visio in dies.(vulgate) Dan 10:14 Nun aber komme ich, daß ich dich unterrichte, wie es deinem Volk hernach gehen wird; denn das Gesicht wird erst nach etlicher Zeit geschehen.(dhs) Dan 10:14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:15 ============ Dan 10:15 When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.(nasb) Dan 10:15 καὶ ἐν τῷ αὐτὸν λαλῆσαι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὰ προστάγματα ταῦτα ἔδωκα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ ἐσιώπησα (lxx) Dan 10:15 Cumque loqueretur mihi hujuscemodi verbis, dejeci vultum meum ad terram, et tacui.(vulgate) Dan 10:15 Und als er solches mit mir redete, schlug ich mein Angesicht nieder zur Erde und schwieg still.(dhs) Dan 10:15 When he had spoken such words to me, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:16 ============ Dan 10:16 And behold, one who resembled a human being was touching my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who was standing before me, "O my lord, as a result of the vision anguish has come upon me, and I have retained no strength.(nasb) Dan 10:16 καὶ ἰδοὺ ὡς ὁμοίωσις χειρὸς ἀνθρώπου ἥψατό μου τῶν χειλέων καὶ ἤνοιξα τὸ στόμα μου καὶ ἐλάλησα καὶ εἶπα τῷ ἑστηκότι ἀπέναντί μου κύριε καὶ ὡς ὅρασις ἀπεστράφη ἐπὶ τὸ πλευρόν μου ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐν ἐμοὶ ἰσχύς (lxx) Dan 10:16 Et ecce quasi similitudo filii hominis tetigit labia mea: et aperiens os meum locutus sum, et dixi ad eum, qui stabat contra me: Domine mi, in visione tua dissolutae sunt compages meae, et nihil in me remansit virium.(vulgate) Dan 10:16 Und siehe, einer, gleich einem Menschen, rührte meine Lippen an. Da tat ich meinen Mund auf und redete und sprach zu dem, der vor mir stand: Mein HERR, meine Gelenke beben mir über dem Gesicht, und ich habe keine Kraft mehr;(dhs) Dan 10:16 And suddenly, one having the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, "My lord, because of the vision my sorrows have overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:17 ============ Dan 10:17 For how can such a servant of my lord talk with such as my lord? As for me, there remains just now no strength in me, nor has any breath been left in me."(nasb) Dan 10:17 καὶ πῶς δυνήσεται ὁ παῖς λαλῆσαι μετὰ τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ ἠσθένησα καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν ἐμοὶ ἰσχύς καὶ πνεῦμα οὐ κατελείφθη ἐν ἐμοί (lxx) Dan 10:17 Et quomodo poterit servus domini mei loqui cum domino meo? nihil enim in me remansit virium, sed et halitus meus intercluditur.(vulgate) Dan 10:17 und wie kann der Knecht meines HERRN mit meinem HERRN reden, weil nun keine Kraft mehr in mir ist und ich auch keinen Odem mehr habe?(dhs) Dan 10:17 For how can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:18 ============ Dan 10:18 Then this one with human appearance touched me again and strengthened me.(nasb) Dan 10:18 καὶ προσέθηκε καὶ ἥψατό μου ὡς ὅρασις ἀνθρώπου καὶ κατίσχυσέ με (lxx) Dan 10:18 Rursum ergo tetigit me quasi visio hominis, et confortavit me,(vulgate) Dan 10:18 Da rührte einer, gleich wie ein Mensch gestaltet, mich abermals an und stärkte mich(dhs) Dan 10:18 Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:19 ============ Dan 10:19 He said, "O man of high esteem, do not be afraid. Peace be with you; take courage and be courageous!" Now as soon as he spoke to me, I received strength and said, "May my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."(nasb) Dan 10:19 καὶ εἶπέ μοι ἄνθρωπος ἐλεεινὸς εἶ μὴ φοβοῦ ὑγίαινε ἀνδρίζου καὶ ἴσχυε καὶ ἐν τῷ λαλῆσαι αὐτὸν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἴσχυσα καὶ εἶπα λαλησάτω ὁ κύριός μου ὅτι ἐνίσχυσέ με (lxx) Dan 10:19 et dixit: Noli timere, vir desideriorum: pax tibi: confortare, et esto robustus. Cumque loqueretur mecum, convalui, et dixi: Loquere, domine mi, quia confortasti me.(vulgate) Dan 10:19 und sprach: Fürchte dich nicht, du lieber Mann! Friede sei mit dir! Und sei getrost, sei getrost! Und als er mit mir redete, ermannte ich mich und sprach: Mein HERR rede! denn du hast mich gestärkt.(dhs) Dan 10:19 And he said, "O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!" So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:20 ============ Dan 10:20 Then he said, "Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come.(nasb) Dan 10:20 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με γινώσκεις τί ἦλθον πρὸς σέ καὶ νῦν ἐπιστρέψω διαμάχεσθαι μετὰ τοῦ στρατηγοῦ βασιλέως τῶν Περσῶν καὶ ἐγὼ ἐξεπορευόμην καὶ ἰδοὺ στρατηγὸς Ἑλλήνων εἰσεπορεύετο (lxx) Dan 10:20 Et ait: Numquid scis quare venerim ad te? et nunc revertar ut praelier adversum principem Persarum. Cum ego egrederer, apparuit princeps Graecorum veniens.(vulgate) Dan 10:20 Und er sprach: Weißt du auch, warum ich zu dir gekommen bin? Jetzt will ich wieder hin und mit dem Fürsten in Perserland streiten; aber wenn ich wegziehe, siehe, so wird der Fürst von Griechenland kommen.(dhs) Dan 10:20 Then he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 10:21 ============ Dan 10:21 However, I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. Yet there is no one who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince.(nasb) Dan 10:21 καὶ μάλα ὑποδείξω σοι τὰ πρῶτα ἐν ἀπογραφῇ ἀληθείας καὶ οὐθεὶς ἦν ὁ βοηθῶν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ὑπὲρ τούτων ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Μιχαηλ ὁ ἄγγελος (lxx) Dan 10:21 Verumtamen annuntiabo tibi quod expressum est in scriptura veritatis: et nemo est adjutor meus in omnibus his, nisi Michael princeps vester.(vulgate) Dan 10:21 Doch ich will dir anzeigen, was geschrieben ist, was gewiß geschehen wird. Und es ist keiner, der mir hilft wider jene, denn euer Fürst Michael,(dhs) Dan 10:21 But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth.
