Today's Date: ======= Malachi 2:1 ============ Mal 2:1 "And now this commandment is for you, O priests.(nasb) Mal 2:1 καὶ νῦν ἡ ἐντολὴ αὕτη πρὸς ὑμᾶς οἱ ἱερεῖς (lxx) Mal 2:1 Et nunc ad vos mandatum hoc, o sacerdotes.(vulgate) Mal 2:1 Und nun, ihr Priester, dies Gebot gilt euch.(dhs) Mal 2:1 "And now, O priests, this commandment is for you.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:2 ============ Mal 2:2 If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name," says the Lord of hosts, "then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.(nasb) Mal 2:2 ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσητε καὶ ἐὰν μὴ θῆσθε εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ὑμῶν τοῦ δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ ὀνόματί μου λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τὴν κατάραν καὶ ἐπικαταράσομαι τὴν εὐλογίαν ὑμῶν καὶ καταράσομαι αὐτήν καὶ διασκεδάσω τὴν εὐλογίαν ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν ὅτι ὑμεῖς οὐ τίθεσθε εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ὑμῶν (lxx) Mal 2:2 Si nolueritis audire, et si nolueritis ponere super cor, ut detis gloriam nomini meo, ait Dominus exercituum, mittam in vos egestatem, et maledicam benedictionibus vestris, et maledicam illis, quoniam non posuistis super cor.(vulgate) Mal 2:2 Wo ihr's nicht hört noch zu Herzen nehmen werdet, daß ihr meinem Namen die Ehre gebt, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, so werde ich den Fluch unter euch schicken und euren Segen verfluchen, ja verfluchen werde ich ihn, weil ihr's nicht wolltet zu Herzen nehmen.(dhs) Mal 2:2 If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name," Says the Lord of hosts, "I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:3 ============ Mal 2:3 Behold, I am going to rebuke your offspring, and I will spread refuse on your faces, the refuse of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.(nasb) Mal 2:3 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀφορίζω ὑμῖν τὸν ὦμον καὶ σκορπιῶ ἤνυστρον ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσωπα ὑμῶν ἤνυστρον ἑορτῶν ὑμῶν καὶ λήμψομαι ὑμᾶς εἰς τὸ αὐτό (lxx) Mal 2:3 Ecce ego projiciam vobis brachium, et dispergam super vultum vestrum stercus solemnitatum vestrarum, et assumet vos secum.(vulgate) Mal 2:3 Siehe, ich will schelten euch samt der Saat und den Kot eurer Festopfer euch ins Angesicht werfen, und er soll an euch kleben bleiben.(dhs) Mal 2:3 "Behold, I will rebuke your descendants And spread refuse on your faces, The refuse of your solemn feasts; And one will take you away with it.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:4 ============ Mal 2:4 Then you will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that My covenant may continue with Levi," says the Lord of hosts.(nasb) Mal 2:4 καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ ἐξαπέσταλκα πρὸς ὑμᾶς τὴν ἐντολὴν ταύτην τοῦ εἶναι τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς τοὺς Λευίτας λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 2:4 Et scietis quia misi ad vos mandatum istud, ut esset pactum meum cum Levi, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) Mal 2:4 So werdet ihr dann erfahren, daß ich solches Gebot zu euch gesandt habe, daß es mein Bund sein sollte mit Levi, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 2:4 Then you shall know that I have sent this commandment to you, That My covenant with Levi may continue," Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:5 ============ Mal 2:5 "My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name.(nasb) Mal 2:5 ἡ διαθήκη μου ἦν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ τῆς ζωῆς καὶ τῆς εἰρήνης καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτῷ ἐν φόβῳ φοβεῖσθαί με καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου ὀνόματός μου στέλλεσθαι αὐτόν (lxx) Mal 2:5 Pactum meum fuit cum eo vitæ et pacis: et dedi ei timorem, et timuit me, et a facie nominis mei pavebat.(vulgate) Mal 2:5 Denn mein Bund war mit ihm zum Leben und Frieden, und ich gab ihm die Furcht, daß er mich fürchtete und meinen Namen scheute.(dhs) Mal 2:5 "My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, And I gave them to him that he might fear Me; So he feared Me And was reverent before My name.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:6 ============ Mal 2:6 True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.(nasb) Mal 2:6 νόμος ἀληθείας ἦν ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδικία οὐχ εὑρέθη ἐν χείλεσιν αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ κατευθύνων ἐπορεύθη μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ πολλοὺς ἐπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ ἀδικίας (lxx) Mal 2:6 Lex veritatis fuit in ore ejus, et iniquitas non est inventa in labiis ejus: in pace et in æquitate ambulavit mecum, et multos avertit ab iniquitate.(vulgate) Mal 2:6 Das Gesetz der Wahrheit war in seinem Munde, und ward kein Böses in seinen Lippen gefunden. Er wandelte vor mir friedsam und aufrichtig und bekehrte viele von Sünden.(dhs) Mal 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth, And injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:7 ============ Mal 2:7 For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.(nasb) Mal 2:7 ὅτι χείλη ἱερέως φυλάξεται γνῶσιν καὶ νόμον ἐκζητήσουσιν ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ διότι ἄγγελος κυρίου παντοκράτορός ἐστιν (lxx) Mal 2:7 Labia enim sacerdotis custodient scientiam, et legem requirent ex ore ejus, quia angelus Domini exercituum est.(vulgate) Mal 2:7 Denn des Priesters Lippen sollen die Lehre bewahren, daß man aus seinem Munde das Gesetz suche; denn er ist ein Engel des HERRN Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 2:7 "For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:8 ============ Mal 2:8 But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi," says the Lord of hosts.(nasb) Mal 2:8 ὑμεῖς δὲ ἐξεκλίνατε ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ καὶ πολλοὺς ἠσθενήσατε ἐν νόμῳ διεφθείρατε τὴν διαθήκην τοῦ Λευι λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 2:8 Vos autem recessistis de via, et scandalizastis plurimos in lege: irritum fecistis pactum Levi, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) Mal 2:8 Ihr aber seid von dem Wege abgetreten und ärgert viele im Gesetz und habt den Bund Levis gebrochen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 2:8 But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi," Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:9 ============ Mal 2:9 "So I also have made you despised and abased before all the people, just as you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the instruction.(nasb) Mal 2:9 κἀγὼ δέδωκα ὑμᾶς ἐξουδενωμένους καὶ παρειμένους εἰς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ὑμεῖς οὐκ ἐφυλάξασθε τὰς ὁδούς μου ἀλλὰ ἐλαμβάνετε πρόσωπα ἐν νόμῳ (lxx) Mal 2:9 Propter quod et ego dedi vos contemptibiles, et humiles omnibus populis, sicut non servastis vias meas, et accepistis faciem in lege.~(vulgate) Mal 2:9 Darum habe ich auch euch gemacht, daß ihr verachtet und unwert seid vor dem ganzen Volk, weil ihr meine Wege nicht haltet und seht Personen an im Gesetz.(dhs) Mal 2:9 "Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base Before all the people, Because you have not kept My ways But have shown partiality in the law."(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:10 ============ Mal 2:10 "Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?(nasb) Mal 2:10 οὐχὶ θεὸς εἷς ἔκτισεν ὑμᾶς οὐχὶ πατὴρ εἷς πάντων ὑμῶν τί ὅτι ἐγκατελίπετε ἕκαστος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ τοῦ βεβηλῶσαι τὴν διαθήκην τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν (lxx) Mal 2:10 Numquid non pater unus omnium nostrum? numquid non Deus unus creavit nos? quare ergo despicit unusquisque nostrum fratrem suum, violans pactum patrum nostrorum?(vulgate) Mal 2:10 Haben nicht alle einen Vater? Hat uns nicht ein Gott geschaffen? Warum verachten wir denn einer den andern und entheilgen den Bund, mit unsern Vätern gemacht?(dhs) Mal 2:10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another By profaning the covenant of the fathers?(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:11 ============ Mal 2:11 Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god.(nasb) Mal 2:11 ἐγκατελείφθη Ιουδας καὶ βδέλυγμα ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ διότι ἐβεβήλωσεν Ιουδας τὰ ἅγια κυρίου ἐν οἷς ἠγάπησεν καὶ ἐπετήδευσεν εἰς θεοὺς ἀλλοτρίους (lxx) Mal 2:11 Transgressus est Juda, et abominatio facta est in Israël et in Jerusalem, quia contaminavit Juda sanctificationem Domini, quam dilexit, et habuit filiam dei alieni.(vulgate) Mal 2:11 Denn Juda ist ein Verräter geworden, und in Israel und zu Jerusalem geschehen Greuel. Denn Juda entheiligt, was dem HERRN heilig ist und was er liebhat, und buhlt mit eines fremden Gottes Tochter.(dhs) Mal 2:11 Judah has dealt treacherously, And an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, For Judah has profaned The Lord's holy institution which He loves: He has married the daughter of a foreign god.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:12 ============ Mal 2:12 As for the man who does this, may the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers, or who presents an offering to the Lord of hosts.(nasb) Mal 2:12 ἐξολεθρεύσει κύριος τὸν ἄνθρωπον τὸν ποιοῦντα ταῦτα ἕως καὶ ταπεινωθῇ ἐκ σκηνωμάτων Ιακωβ καὶ ἐκ προσαγόντων θυσίαν τῷ κυρίῳ παντοκράτορι (lxx) Mal 2:12 Disperdet Dominus virum qui fecerit hoc, magistrum et discipulum, de tabernaculis Jacob, et offerentem munus Domino exercituum.(vulgate) Mal 2:12 Aber der HERR wird den, so solches tut, ausrotten aus der Hütte Jakobs, beide, Meister und Schüler, samt dem, der dem HERRN Zebaoth Speisopfer bringt.(dhs) Mal 2:12 May the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob The man who does this, being awake and aware, Yet who brings an offering to the Lord of hosts!(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:13 ============ Mal 2:13 "This is another thing you do: you cover the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and with groaning, because He no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand.(nasb) Mal 2:13 καὶ ταῦτα ἃ ἐμίσουν ἐποιεῖτε ἐκαλύπτετε δάκρυσιν τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου καὶ κλαυθμῷ καὶ στεναγμῷ ἐκ κόπων ἔτι ἄξιον ἐπιβλέψαι εἰς θυσίαν ἢ λαβεῖν δεκτὸν ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν (lxx) Mal 2:13 Et hoc rursum fecistis: operiebatis lacrimis altare Domini, fletu et mugitu, ita ut non respiciam ultra ad sacrificium, nec accipiam placabile quid de manu vestra.(vulgate) Mal 2:13 Weiter tut ihr auch das: ihr bedeckt den Altar des HERRN mit Tränen und Weinen und Seufzen, daß ich nicht mehr mag das Speisopfer ansehen noch etwas Angenehmes von euren Händen empfangen.(dhs) Mal 2:13 And this is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of the Lord with tears, With weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, Nor receive it with goodwill from your hands.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 2:14 ============ Mal 2:14 Yet you say, 'For what reason?' Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.(nasb) Mal 2:14 καὶ εἴπατε ἕνεκεν τίνος ὅτι κύριος διεμαρτύρατο ἀνὰ μέσον σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον γυναικὸς νεότητός σου ἣν ἐγκατέλιπες καὶ αὐτὴ κοινωνός σου καὶ γυνὴ διαθήκης σου (lxx) Mal 2:14 Et dixistis: Quam ob causam? Quia Dominus testificatus est inter te et uxorem pubertatis tuæ, quam tu despexisti: et hæc particeps tua, et uxor fœderis tui.(vulgate) Mal 2:14 Und so sprecht ihr: "Warum das?" Darum daß der HERR zwischen dir und dem Weibe deiner Jugend Zeuge war, die du verachtest, so sie doch deine Gesellin und ein Weib deines Bundes ist.(dhs) Mal 2:14 Yet you say, "For what reason?" And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.(nasb) Mal 2:15 καὶ οὐκ ἄλλος ἐποίησεν καὶ ὑπόλειμμα πνεύματος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἴπατε τί ἄλλο ἀλλ᾽ ἢ σπέρμα ζητεῖ ὁ θεός καὶ φυλάξασθε ἐν τῷ πνεύματι ὑμῶν καὶ γυναῖκα νεότητός σου μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς (lxx) Mal 2:15 Nonne unus fecit, et residuum spiritus ejus est? et quid unus quærit, nisi semen Dei? custodite ergo spiritum vestrum, et uxorem adolescentiæ tuæ noli despicere.(vulgate) Mal 2:15 Also tat der Eine nicht, und war doch großen Geistes. Was tat aber der Eine? Er suchte den Samen, von Gott verheißen. Custodite spiritum vestrum, et nolite despicere.~(vulgate) Mal 2:16 Wer ihr aber gram ist und verstößt sie, spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, der bedeckt mit Frevel sein Kleid, spricht der HERR Zebaoth. Darum so seht euch vor vor eurem Geist und verachtet sie nicht.(dhs) Mal 2:16 "For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the Lord of hosts. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?"(nasb) Mal 2:17 οἱ παροξύνοντες τὸν θεὸν ἐν τοῖς λόγοις ὑμῶν καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι παρωξύναμεν αὐτόν ἐν τῷ λέγειν ὑμᾶς πᾶς ποιῶν πονηρόν καλὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐν αὐτοῖς αὐτὸς εὐδόκησεν καί ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς τῆς δικαιοσύνης (lxx) Mal 2:17 Laborare fecistis Dominum in sermonibus vestris, et dixistis: In quo eum fecimus laborare? In eo quod dicitis: Omnis qui facit malum bonus est in conspectu Domini, et tales ei placent: aut certe ubi est Deus judicii?(vulgate) Mal 2:17 Ihr macht den HERRN unwillig durch eure Reden. So sprecht ihr: "Womit machen wir ihn unwillig?" damit daß ihr sprecht: "Wer Böses tut, der gefällt dem HERRN, und zu solchen hat er Lust", oder: "Wo ist der Gott, der da strafe?"(dhs) Mal 2:17 You have wearied the Lord with your words; Yet you say, "In what way have we wearied Him?"
