Today's Date: ======= Colossians 2:1 ============ Col 2:1 For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face,(nasb) Col 2:1 θέλω γὰρ ὑμᾶς εἰδέναι ἡλίκον ἀγῶνα ἔχω ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ τῶν ἐν λαοδικείᾳ καὶ ὅσοι οὐχ ἑόρακαν τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐν σαρκί,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:1 Volo enim vos scire qualem sollicitudinem habeam pro vobis, et pro iis qui sunt Laodiciæ, et quicumque non viderunt faciem meam in carne:(vulgate) Col 2:1 Ich lasse euch aber wissen, welch einen Kampf ich habe um euch und um die zu Laodizea und alle, die meine Person im Fleisch nicht gesehen haben,(dhs) Col 2:1 For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:2 ============ Col 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself,(nasb) Col 2:2 ἵνα παρακληθῶσιν αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν, συμβιβασθέντες ἐν ἀγάπῃ καὶ εἰς πᾶν πλοῦτος τῆς πληροφορίας τῆς συνέσεως, εἰς ἐπίγνωσιν τοῦ μυστηρίου τοῦ θεοῦ, χριστοῦ,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:2 ut consolentur corda ipsorum, instructi in caritate, et in omnes divitias plenitudinis intellectus, in agnitionem mysterii Dei Patris et Christi Jesu:(vulgate) Col 2:2 auf daß ihre Herzen ermahnt und zusammengefaßt werden in der Liebe und zu allem Reichtum des gewissen Verständnisses, zu erkennen knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:3 ============ Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(nasb) Col 2:3 ἐν ᾧ εἰσιν πάντες οἱ θησαυροὶ τῆς σοφίας καὶ γνώσεως ἀπόκρυφοι.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:3 in quo sunt omnes thesauri sapientiæ et scientiæ absconditi.~(vulgate) Col 2:3 in welchem verborgen liegen alle Schätze der Weisheit und der Erkenntnis.(dhs) Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:4 ============ Col 2:4 I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument.(nasb) Col 2:4 τοῦτο λέγω ἵνα μηδεὶς ὑμᾶς παραλογίζηται ἐν πιθανολογίᾳ.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:4 Hoc autem dico, ut nemo vos decipiat in sublimitate sermonum.(vulgate) Col 2:4 Ich sage aber davon, auf daß euch niemand betrüge mit unvernünftigen Reden.(dhs) Col 2:4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:5 ============ Col 2:5 For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ.(nasb) Col 2:5 εἰ γὰρ καὶ τῇ σαρκὶ ἄπειμι, ἀλλὰ τῶ πνεύματι σὺν ὑμῖν εἰμι, χαίρων καὶ βλέπων ὑμῶν τὴν τάξιν καὶ τὸ στερέωμα τῆς εἰς χριστὸν πίστεως ὑμῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:5 Nam etsi corpore absens sum, sed spiritu vobiscum sum: gaudens, et videns ordinem vestrum, et firmamentum ejus, quæ in Christo est, fidei vestræ.(vulgate) Col 2:5 Denn ob ich wohl nach dem Fleisch nicht da bin, so bin ich doch im Geist bei euch, freue ihm(dhs) Col 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:7 ============ Col 2:7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.(nasb) Col 2:7 ἐρριζωμένοι καὶ ἐποικοδομούμενοι ἐν αὐτῶ καὶ βεβαιούμενοι τῇ πίστει καθὼς ἐδιδάχθητε, περισσεύοντες ἐν εὐχαριστίᾳ.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:7 radicati, et superædificati in ipso, et confirmati fide, sicut et didicistis, abundantes in illo in gratiarum actione.(vulgate) Col 2:7 und seid gewurzelt und erbaut in ihm und fest im Glauben, wie ihr gelehrt seid, und seid in demselben reichlich dankbar.(dhs) Col 2:7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:8 ============ Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.(nasb) Col 2:8 βλέπετε μή τις ὑμᾶς ἔσται ὁ συλαγωγῶν διὰ τῆς φιλοσοφίας καὶ κενῆς ἀπάτης κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, κατὰ τὰ στοιχεῖα τοῦ κόσμου καὶ οὐ κατὰ χριστόν·(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:8 Videte ne quis vos decipiat per philosophiam, et inanem fallaciam secundum traditionem hominum, secundum elementa mundi, et non secundum Christum:(vulgate) Col 2:8 Sehet zu, daß euch niemand beraube durch die Philosophie und lose Verführung nach der Menschen Lehre und nach der Welt Satzungen, und nicht nach Christo.(dhs) Col 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:9 ============ Col 2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,(nasb) Col 2:9 ὅτι ἐν αὐτῶ κατοικεῖ πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τῆς θεότητος σωματικῶς,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:9 quia in ipso inhabitat omnis plenitudo divinitatis corporaliter:(vulgate) Col 2:9 Denn in ihm wohnt die ganze Fülle der Gottheit leibhaftig,(dhs) Col 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:10 ============ Col 2:10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;(nasb) Col 2:10 καὶ ἐστὲ ἐν αὐτῶ πεπληρωμένοι, ὅς ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλὴ πάσης ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐξουσίας,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:10 et estis in illo repleti, qui est caput omnis principatus et potestatis:(vulgate) Col 2:10 und ihr seid vollkommen in ihm, welcher ist das Haupt aller Fürstentümer und Obrigkeiten;(dhs) Col 2:10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:11 ============ Col 2:11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;(nasb) Col 2:11 ἐν ᾧ καὶ περιετμήθητε περιτομῇ ἀχειροποιήτῳ ἐν τῇ ἀπεκδύσει τοῦ σώματος τῆς σαρκός, ἐν τῇ περιτομῇ τοῦ χριστοῦ,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:11 in quo et circumcisi estis circumcisione non manu facta in expoliatione corporis carnis, sed in circumcisione Christi:(vulgate) Col 2:11 in welchem ihr auch beschnitten seid mit der Beschneidung ohne Hände, durch Ablegung des sündlichen Leibes im Fleisch, nämlich mit der Beschneidung Christi,(dhs) Col 2:11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:12 ============ Col 2:12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.(nasb) Col 2:12 συνταφέντες αὐτῶ ἐν τῶ βαπτισμῶ, ἐν ᾧ καὶ συνηγέρθητε διὰ τῆς πίστεως τῆς ἐνεργείας τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ἐγείραντος αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν·(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:12 consepulti ei in baptismo, in quo et resurrexistis per fidem operationis Dei, qui suscitavit illum a mortuis.(vulgate) Col 2:12 indem ihr mit ihm begraben seid durch die Taufe; in welchem ihr auch seid auferstanden durch den Glauben, den Col 2:13 Et vos cum mortui essetis in delictis, et præputio carnis vestræ, convivificavit cum illo, donans vobis omnia delicta:(vulgate) Col 2:13 Und er hat euch auch mit ihm lebendig gemacht, da ihr tot waret in den Sünden und in eurem unbeschnittenen Fleisch; und hat uns geschenkt alle Sünden(dhs) Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:14 ============ Col 2:14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.(nasb) Col 2:14 ἐξαλείψας τὸ καθ᾽ ἡμῶν χειρόγραφον τοῖς δόγμασιν ὃ ἦν ὑπεναντίον ἡμῖν, καὶ αὐτὸ ἦρκεν ἐκ τοῦ μέσου προσηλώσας αὐτὸ τῶ σταυρῶ·(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:14 delens quod adversus nos erat chirographum decreti, quod erat contrarium nobis, et ipsum tulit de medio, affigens illud cruci:(vulgate) Col 2:14 und ausgetilgt die Handschrift, so wider uns war, welche durch Satzungen entstand und uns entgegen war, und hat sie aus dem Mittel getan und an das Kreuz geheftet;(dhs) Col 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:15 ============ Col 2:15 When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.(nasb) Col 2:15 ἀπεκδυσάμενος τὰς ἀρχὰς καὶ τὰς ἐξουσίας ἐδειγμάτισεν ἐν παρρησίᾳ, θριαμβεύσας αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐτῶ.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:15 et expolians principatus, et potestates traduxit confidenter, palam triumphans illos in semetipso.~(vulgate) Col 2:15 und hat ausgezogen die Fürstentümer und die Gewaltigen und sie schaugetragen öffentlich und einen Triumph aus ihnen gemacht durch sich selbst.(dhs) Col 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:16 ============ Col 2:16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--(nasb) Col 2:16 μὴ οὗν τις ὑμᾶς κρινέτω ἐν βρώσει καὶ ἐν πόσει ἢ ἐν μέρει ἑορτῆς ἢ νεομηνίας ἢ σαββάτων,(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:16 Nemo ergo vos judicet in cibo, aut in potu, aut in parte diei festi, aut neomeniæ, aut sabbatorum:(vulgate) Col 2:16 So lasset nun niemand euch Gewissen machen über Speise oder über Trank oder über bestimmte Feiertage oder Neumonde oder Sabbate;(dhs) Col 2:16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,(nkjv) ======= Colossians 2:17 ============ Col 2:17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.(nasb) Col 2:17 ἅ ἐστιν σκιὰ τῶν μελλόντων, τὸ δὲ σῶμα τοῦ χριστοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Col 2:17 quæ sunt umbra futurorum: corpus autem Christi.(vulgate) Col 2:17 welches ist der Schatten von dem, das zukünftig war;
