And Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.(nasb) Num 22:4 dixit ad majores natu Madian: Ita delebit hic populus omnes, qui in nostris finibus commorantur, quomodo solet bos herbas usque ad radices carpere. Ipse erat eo tempore rex in Moab.(vulgate) Números 22:4 Y dijo Moab a los ancianos de Madián: Ahora lamerá esta gente todos nuestros contornos, como lame el buey la grama del campo. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:5 ============ Num 22:5 So he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, at Pethor, which is near the River, in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, "Behold, a people came out of Egypt; behold, they cover the surface of the land, and they are living opposite me.(nasb) Num 22:5 Misit ergo nuntios ad Balaam filium Beor ariolum, qui habitabat super flumen terræ filiorum Ammon, ut vocarent eum, et dicerent: Ecce egressus est populus ex Ægypto, qui operuit superficiem terræ, sedens contra me.(vulgate) Números 22:5 Por tanto envió mensajeros a Balaam, hijo de Beor, a Petor, que está junto al río en la tierra de los hijos de su pueblo, para que lo llamasen, diciendo: Un pueblo ha salido de Egipto, y he aquí cubre la faz de la tierra, y habita delante de mí:(E) Nombres 22:5 Il envoya des messagers auprès de Balaam, fils de Beor, à Pethor sur le fleuve, dans le pays des fils de son peuple, afin de l'appeler et de lui dire: Voici, un peuple est sorti d'Egypte, il couvre la surface de la terre, et il habite vis-à-vis de moi.(F) Num 22:5 Und er sandte Boten aus zu Bileam, dem Sohn Beors, gen Pethor, der wohnte an dem Strom im Lande der Kinder seines Volks, daß sie ihn forderten, und ließ ihm sagen: Siehe, es ist ein Volk aus Ägypten gezogen, das bedeckt das Angesicht der Erde und liegt mir gegenüber.(D) Num 22:5 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρέσβεις πρὸς Βαλααμ υἱὸν Βεωρ Φαθουρα ὅ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ γῆς υἱῶν λαοῦ αὐτοῦ καλέσαι αὐτὸν λέγων ἰδοὺ λαὸς ἐξελήλυθεν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἰδοὺ κατεκάλυψεν τὴν ὄψιν τῆς γῆς καὶ οὗτος ἐγκάθηται ἐχόμενός μου(lxx) Num 22:5 Then he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor at Pethor, which is near the River in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying: "Look, a people has come from Egypt. See, they cover the face of the earth, and are settling next to me!(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:6 ============ Num 22:6 Now, therefore, please come, curse this people for me since they are too mighty for me; perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed."(nasb) Num 22:6 Veni igitur, et maledic populo huic, quia fortior me est: si quomodo possim percutere et ejicere eum de terra mea. Novi enim quod benedictus sit cui benedixeris, et maledictus in quem maledicta congesseris.(vulgate) Números 22:6 Ven pues ahora, te ruego, maldíceme este pueblo, porque es más fuerte que yo: quizá podré yo herirlo, y echarlo de la tierra. Porque yo sé que el que tú bendijeres, será bendito, y el que tú maldijeres, será maldito.(E) Nombres 22:6 Viens, je te prie, maudis-moi ce peuple, car il est plus puissant que moi; peut-être ainsi pourrai-je le battre et le chasserai-je du pays, car je sais que celui que tu bénis est béni, et que celui que tu maudis est maudit.(F) Num 22:6 So komm nun und verfluche mir das Volk (denn es ist mir zu mächtig), ob ich's schlagen möchte und aus dem Lande vertreiben; denn ich weiß, daß, welchen du segnest, der ist gesegnet, und welchen du verfluchst, der ist verflucht.(D) Num 22:6 καὶ νῦν δεῦρο ἄρασαί μοι τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ὅτι ἰσχύει οὗτος ἢ ἡμεῖς ἐὰν δυνώμεθα πατάξαι ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐκβαλῶ αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῆς γῆς ὅτι οἶδα οὓς ἐὰν εὐλογήσῃς σύ εὐλόγηνται καὶ οὓς ἐὰν καταράσῃ σύ κεκατήρανται(lxx) Num 22:6 Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:7 ============ Num 22:7 So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the fees for divination in their hand; and they came to Balaam and repeated Balak's words to him.(nasb) Num 22:7 Perrexeruntque seniores Moab, et majores natu Madian, habentes divinationis pretium in manibus. Cumque venissent ad Balaam, et narrassent ei omnia verba Balac,(vulgate) Números 22:7 Y fueron los ancianos de Moab, y los ancianos de Madián, con las dádivas de adivinación en su mano, y llegaron a Balaam, y le dijeron las palabras de Balac.(E) Nombres 22:7 Les anciens de Moab et les anciens de Madian partirent, ayant avec eux des présents pour le devin. Ils arrivèrent auprès de Balaam, et lui rapportèrent les paroles de Balak.(F) Num 22:7 Und die Ältesten der Moabiter gingen hin mit den Ältesten der Midianiter und hatten den Lohn des Wahrsagers in ihren Händen und kamen zu Bileam und sagten ihm die Worte Balaks.(D) Num 22:7 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἡ γερουσία Μωαβ καὶ ἡ γερουσία Μαδιαμ καὶ τὰ μαντεῖα ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Βαλααμ καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ τὰ ῥήματα Βαλακ(lxx) Num 22:7 So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the diviner's fee in their hand, and they came to Balaam and spoke to him the words of Balak.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:8 ============ Num 22:8 He said to them, "Spend the night here, and I will bring word back to you as the Lord may speak to me." And the leaders of Moab stayed with Balaam.(nasb) Num 22:8 ille respondit: Manete hic nocte, et respondebo quidquid mihi dixerit Dominus. Manentibus illis apud Balaam, venit Deus, et ait ad eum:(vulgate) Números 22:8 Y él les dijo: Reposad aquí esta noche, y yo os traeré palabra, según Jehová me hablare. Así los príncipes de Moab se quedaron con Balaam.(E) Nombres 22:8 Balaam leur dit: Passez ici la nuit, et je vous donnerai réponse, d'après ce que l'Eternel me dira. Et les chefs de Moab restèrent chez Balaam.(F) Num 22:8 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Bleibt hier über Nacht, so will ich euch wieder sagen, wie mir der HERR sagen wird. Also blieben die Fürsten der Moabiter bei Bileam.(D) Num 22:8 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς καταλύσατε αὐτοῦ τὴν νύκτα καὶ ἀποκριθήσομαι ὑμῖν πράγματα ἃ ἐὰν λαλήσῃ κύριος πρός με καὶ κατέμειναν οἱ ἄρχοντες Μωαβ παρὰ Βαλααμ(lxx) Num 22:8 And he said to them, "Lodge here tonight, and I will bring back word to you, as the Lord speaks to me." So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:9 ============ Num 22:9 Then God came to Balaam and said, "Who are these men with you?"(nasb) Num 22:9 Quid sibi volunt homines isti apud te?(vulgate) Números 22:9 Y vino Dios a Balaam, y le dijo: ¿Qué varones son estos que están contigo?(E) Nombres 22:9 Dieu vint à Balaam, et dit: Qui sont ces hommes que tu as chez toi?(F) Num 22:9 Und Gott kam zu Bileam und sprach: Wer sind die Leute, die bei dir sind?(D) Num 22:9 καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Βαλααμ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τί οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὗτοι παρὰ σοί(lxx) Num 22:9 Then God came to Balaam and said, "Who are these men with you?"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:10 ============ Num 22:10 Balaam said to God, "Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent word to me,(nasb) Num 22:10 Respondit: Balac filius Sephor rex Moabitarum misit ad me,(vulgate) Números 22:10 Y Balaam respondió a Dios: Balac, hijo de Zipor, rey de Moab, ha enviado a mí diciendo:(E) Nombres 22:10 Balaam répondit à Dieu: Balak, fils de Tsippor, roi de Moab, les a envoyés pour me dire:(F) Num 22:10 Bileam sprach zu Gott: Balak, der Sohn Zippors, der Moabiter König, hat zu mir gesandt:(D) Num 22:10 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ πρὸς τὸν θεόν Βαλακ υἱὸς Σεπφωρ βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς πρός με λέγων(lxx) Num 22:10 So Balaam said to God, "Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent to me, saying,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:11 ============ Num 22:11 'Behold, there is a people who came out of Egypt and they cover the surface of the land; now come, curse them for me; perhaps I may be able to fight against them and drive them out.'"(nasb) Num 22:11 dicens: Ecce populus qui egressus est de Ægypto, operuit superficiem terræ: veni, et maledic ei, si quomodo possim pugnans abigere eum.(vulgate) Números 22:11 He aquí este pueblo que ha salido de Egipto, cubre la faz de la tierra: ven pues ahora, y maldícemelo; quizá podré pelear con él, y echarlo.(E) Nombres 22:11 Voici, un peuple est sorti d'Egypte, et il couvre la surface de la terre; viens donc, maudis-le; peut-être ainsi pourrai-je le combattre, et le chasserai-je.(F) Num 22:11 Siehe, ein Volk ist aus Ägypten gezogen und bedeckt das Angesicht der Erde; so komm nun und fluche ihm, ob ich mit ihm streiten möge und sie vertreiben.(D) Num 22:11 ἰδοὺ λαὸς ἐξελήλυθεν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἰδοὺ κεκάλυφεν τὴν ὄψιν τῆς γῆς καὶ οὗτος ἐγκάθηται ἐχόμενός μου καὶ νῦν δεῦρο ἄρασαί μοι αὐτόν εἰ ἄρα δυνήσομαι πατάξαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἐκβαλῶ αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς(lxx) Num 22:11 'Look, a people has come out of Egypt, and they cover the face of the earth. Come now, curse them for me; perhaps I shall be able to overpower them and drive them out.' "(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:12 ============ Num 22:12 God said to Balaam, "Do not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed."(nasb) Num 22:12 Dixitque Deus ad Balaam: Noli ire cum eis, neque maledicas populo: quia benedictus est.(vulgate) Números 22:12 Entonces dijo Dios a Balaam: No vayas con ellos, ni maldigas al pueblo; porque es bendito.(E) Nombres 22:12 Dieu dit à Balaam: Tu n'iras point avec eux; tu ne maudiras point ce peuple, car il est béni.(F) Num 22:12 Gott aber sprach zu Bileam: Gehe nicht mit ihnen, verfluche das Volk auch nicht; denn es ist gesegnet.(D) Num 22:12 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Βαλααμ οὐ πορεύσῃ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν οὐδὲ καταράσῃ τὸν λαόν ἔστιν γὰρ εὐλογημένος(lxx) Num 22:12 And God said to Balaam, "You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:13 ============ Num 22:13 So Balaam arose in the morning and said to Balak's leaders, "Go back to your land, for the Lord has refused to let me go with you."(nasb) Num 22:13 Qui mane consurgens dixit ad principes: Ite in terram vestram, quia prohibuit me Dominus venire vobiscum.(vulgate) Números 22:13 Así Balaam se levantó por la mañana, y dijo a los príncipes de Balac: Volveos a vuestra tierra, porque Jehová no me quiere dejar ir con vosotros.(E) Nombres 22:13 Balaam se leva le matin, et il dit aux chefs de Balak: Allez dans votre pays, car l'Eternel refuse de me laisser aller avec vous.(F) Num 22:13 Da stand Bileam des Morgens auf und sprach zu den Fürsten Balaks: Gehet hin in euer Land; denn der HERR will's nicht gestatten, daß ich mit euch ziehe.(D) Num 22:13 καὶ ἀναστὰς Βαλααμ τὸ πρωὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἄρχουσιν Βαλακ ἀποτρέχετε πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὑμῶν οὐκ ἀφίησίν με ὁ θεὸς πορεύεσθαι μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν(lxx) Num 22:13 So Balaam rose in the morning and said to the princes of Balak, "Go back to your land, for the Lord has refused to give me permission to go with you."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:14 ============ Num 22:14 The leaders of Moab arose and went to Balak and said, "Balaam refused to come with us."(nasb) Num 22:14 Reversi principes dixerunt ad Balac: Noluit Balaam venire nobiscum.~(vulgate) Números 22:14 Y los príncipes de Moab se levantaron, y vinieron a Balac, y dijeron: Balaam no quiso venir con nosotros.(E) Nombres 22:14 Et les princes de Moab se levèrent, retournèrent auprès de Balak, et dirent: Balaam a refusé de venir avec nous.(F) Num 22:14 Und die Fürsten der Moabiter machten sich auf, kamen zu Balak und sprachen: Bileam weigert sich, mit uns zu ziehen.(D) Num 22:14 καὶ ἀναστάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες Μωαβ ἦλθον πρὸς Βαλακ καὶ εἶπαν οὐ θέλει Βαλααμ πορευθῆναι μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν(lxx) Num 22:14 And the princes of Moab rose and went to Balak, and said, "Balaam refuses to come with us."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:15 ============ Num 22:15 Then Balak again sent leaders, more numerous and more distinguished than the former.(nasb) Num 22:15 Rursum ille multo plures et nobiliores quam ante miserat, misit.(vulgate) Números 22:15 Y Balac envió aun otra vez más príncipes, y más honorables que los otros.(E) Nombres 22:15 Balak envoya de nouveau des chefs en plus grand nombre et plus considérés que les précédents.(F) Num 22:15 Da sandte Balak noch größere und herrlichere Fürsten, denn jene waren.(D) Num 22:15 καὶ προσέθετο Βαλακ ἔτι ἀποστεῖλαι ἄρχοντας πλείους καὶ ἐντιμοτέρους τούτων(lxx) Num 22:15 Then Balak again sent princes, more numerous and more honorable than they.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:16 ============ Num 22:16 They came to Balaam and said to him, "Thus says Balak the son of Zippor, 'Let nothing, I beg you, hinder you from coming to me;(nasb) Num 22:16 Qui cum venissent ad Balaam, dixerunt: Sic dicit Balac filius Sephor: Ne cuncteris venire ad me:(vulgate) Números 22:16 Los cuales vinieron a Balaam, y le dijeron: Así dice Balac, hijo de Zipor: Te ruego que no dejes de venir a mí;(E) Nombres 22:16 Ils arrivèrent auprès de Balaam, et lui dirent: Ainsi parle Balak, fils de Tsippor: Que l'on ne t'empêche donc pas de venir vers moi;(F) Num 22:16 Da die zu Bileam kamen, sprachen sie zu ihm: Also läßt dir sagen Balak, der Sohn Zippors: Wehre dich doch nicht, zu mir zu ziehen;(D) Num 22:16 καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Βαλααμ καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει Βαλακ ὁ τοῦ Σεπφωρ ἀξιῶ σε μὴ ὀκνήσῃς ἐλθεῖν πρός με(lxx) Num 22:16 And they came to Balaam and said to him, "Thus says Balak the son of Zippor: 'Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me;(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:17 ============ Num 22:17 for I will indeed honor you richly, and I will do whatever you say to me. Please come then, curse this people for me.'"(nasb) Num 22:17 paratus sum honorare te, et quidquid volueris, dabo tibi: veni, et maledic populo isti.(vulgate) Números 22:17 Porque sin duda te honraré mucho, y haré todo lo que me digas; ven, pues, te ruego, maldíceme a este pueblo.(E) Nombres 22:17 car je te rendrai beaucoup d'honneurs, et je ferai tout ce que tu me diras; viens, je te prie, maudis-moi ce peuple.(F) Num 22:17 denn ich will dich hoch ehren, und was du mir sagst, das will ich tun; komm doch und fluche mir diesem Volk.(D) Num 22:17 ἐντίμως γὰρ τιμήσω σε καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς ποιήσω σοι καὶ δεῦρο ἐπικατάρασαί μοι τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον(lxx) Num 22:17 for I will certainly honor you greatly, and I will do whatever you say to me. Therefore please come, curse this people for me.' "(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:18 ============ Num 22:18 Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, "Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the command of the Lord my God.(nasb) Num 22:18 Respondit Balaam: Si dederit mihi Balac plenam domum suam argenti et auri, non potero immutare verbum Domini Dei mei, ut vel plus, vel minus loquar.(vulgate) Números 22:18 Y Balaam respondió, y dijo a los siervos de Balac: Aunque Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y de oro, no puedo traspasar la palabra de Jehová mi Dios, para hacer cosa chica ni grande.(E) Nombres 22:18 Balaam répondit et dit aux serviteurs de Balak: Quand Balak me donnerait sa maison pleine d'argent et d'or, je ne pourrais faire aucune chose, ni petite ni grande, contre l'ordre de l'Eternel, mon Dieu.(F) Num 22:18 Bileam antwortete und sprach zu den Dienern Balaks: Wenn mir Balak sein Haus voll Silber und Gold gäbe, so könnte ich doch nicht übertreten das Wort des HERRN, meines Gottes, Kleines oder Großes zu tun.(D) Num 22:18 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Βαλααμ καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἄρχουσιν Βαλακ ἐὰν δῷ μοι Βαλακ πλήρη τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἀργυρίου καὶ χρυσίου οὐ δυνήσομαι παραβῆναι τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτὸ μικρὸν ἢ μέγα ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ μου(lxx) Num 22:18 Then Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, "Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to do less or more.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:19 ============ Num 22:19 Now please, you also stay here tonight, and I will find out what else the Lord will speak to me."(nasb) Num 22:19 Obsecro ut hic maneatis etiam hac nocte, et scire queam quid mihi rursum respondeat Dominus.(vulgate) Números 22:19 Os ruego por tanto ahora, que reposéis aquí esta noche, para que yo sepa qué me vuelve a decir Jehová.(E) Nombres 22:19 Maintenant, je vous prie, restez ici cette nuit, et je saurai ce que l'Eternel me dira encore.(F) Num 22:19 So bleibt doch nur hier auch ihr diese Nacht, daß ich erfahre, was der HERR weiter mit mir reden werde.(D) Num 22:19 καὶ νῦν ὑπομείνατε αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑμεῖς τὴν νύκτα ταύτην καὶ γνώσομαι τί προσθήσει κύριος λαλῆσαι πρός με(lxx) Num 22:19 Now therefore, please, you also stay here tonight, that I may know what more the Lord will say to me."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:20 ============ Num 22:20 God came to Balaam at night and said to him, "If the men have come to call you, rise up and go with them; but only the word which I speak to you shall you do."(nasb) Num 22:20 Venit ergo Deus ad Balaam nocte, et ait ei: Si vocare te venerunt homines isti, surge, et vade cum eis: ita dumtaxat, ut quod tibi præcepero, facias.(vulgate) Números 22:20 Y vino Dios a Balaam de noche, y le dijo: Si vinieren a llamarte hombres, levántate y ve con ellos; pero harás lo que yo te dijere.(E) Nombres 22:20 Dieu vint à Balaam pendant la nuit, et lui dit: Puisque ces hommes sont venus pour t'appeler, lève-toi, va avec eux; mais tu feras ce que je te dirai.(F) Num 22:20 Da kam Gott des Nachts zu Bileam und sprach zu ihm: Sind die Männer gekommen, dich zu rufen, so mache dich auf und zieh mit ihnen; doch was ich dir sagen werde, das sollst du tun.(D) Num 22:20 καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Βαλααμ νυκτὸς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ εἰ καλέσαι σε πάρεισιν οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὗτοι ἀναστὰς ἀκολούθησον αὐτοῖς ἀλλὰ τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἂν λαλήσω πρὸς σέ τοῦτο ποιήσεις(lxx) Num 22:20 And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, "If the men come to call you, rise and go with them; but only the word which I speak to you--that you shall do."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:21 ============ Num 22:21 So Balaam arose in the morning, and saddled his donkey and went with the leaders of Moab.(nasb) Num 22:21 Surrexit Balaam mane, et strata asina sua profectus est cum eis.~(vulgate) Números 22:21 Así Balaam se levantó por la mañana, y cinchó su asna, y fue con los príncipes de Moab.(E) Nombres 22:21 Balaam se leva le matin, sella son ânesse, et partit avec les chefs de Moab.(F) Num 22:21 Da stand Bileam des Morgens auf und sattelte seine Eselin und zog mit den Fürsten der Moabiter.(D) Num 22:21 καὶ ἀναστὰς Βαλααμ τὸ πρωὶ ἐπέσαξεν τὴν ὄνον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύθη μετὰ τῶν ἀρχόντων Μωαβ(lxx) Num 22:21 So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:22 ============ Num 22:22 But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him.(nasb) Num 22:22 Et iratus est Deus. Stetitque angelus Domini in via contra Balaam, qui insidebat asinæ, et duos pueros habebat secum.(vulgate) Números 22:22 Y el furor de Dios se encendió porque él iba; y el Ángel de Jehová se puso en el camino por adversario suyo. Iba, pues, él montado sobre su asna, y con él dos mozos suyos.(E) Nombres 22:22 La colère de Dieu s'enflamma, parce qu'il était parti; et l'ange de l'Eternel se plaça sur le chemin, pour lui résister. Balaam était monté sur son ânesse, et ses deux serviteurs étaient avec lui.(F) Num 22:22 Aber der Zorn Gottes ergrimmte, daß er hinzog. Und der Engel des HERRN trat ihm in den Weg, daß er ihm widerstünde. Er aber ritt auf seiner Eselin, und zwei Knechte waren mit ihm.(D) Num 22:22 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐπορεύθη αὐτός καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐνδιαβάλλειν αὐτόν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπιβεβήκει ἐπὶ τῆς ὄνου αὐτοῦ καὶ δύο παῖδες αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Num 22:22 Then God's anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:23 ============ Num 22:23 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand, the donkey turned off from the way and went into the field; but Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back into the way.(nasb) Num 22:23 Cernens asina angelum stantem in via, evaginato gladio, avertit se de itinere, et ibat per agrum. Quam cum verberaret Balaam, et vellet ad semitam reducere,(vulgate) Números 22:23 Y el asna vio al Ángel de Jehová, que estaba en el camino con su espada desnuda en su mano; y se apartó el asna del camino, e iba por el campo. Y Balaam azotó al asna para hacerla volver al camino.(E) Nombres 22:23 L'ânesse vit l'ange de l'Eternel qui se tenait sur le chemin, son épée nue dans la main; elle se détourna du chemin et alla dans les champs. Balaam frappa l'ânesse pour la ramener dans le chemin.(F) Num 22:23 Und die Eselin sah den Engel des HERRN im Wege stehen und ein bloßes Schwert in seiner Hand. Und die Eselin wich aus dem Wege und ging auf dem Felde; Bileam aber schlug sie, daß sie in den Weg sollte gehen.(D) Num 22:23 καὶ ἰδοῦσα ἡ ὄνος τὸν ἄγγελον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀνθεστηκότα ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ καὶ τὴν ῥομφαίαν ἐσπασμένην ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξέκλινεν ἡ ὄνος ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύετο εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν ὄνον τῇ ῥάβδῳ τοῦ εὐθῦναι αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ(lxx) Num 22:23 Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:24 ============ Num 22:24 Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path of the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side.(nasb) Num 22:24 stetit angelus in angustiis duarum maceriarum, quibus vineæ cingebantur.(vulgate) Números 22:24 Mas el Ángel de Jehová se puso en una senda de viñas que tenía pared de un lado y pared del otro.(E) Nombres 22:24 L'ange de l'Eternel se plaça dans un sentier entre les vignes; il y avait un mur de chaque côté.(F) Num 22:24 Da trat der Engel des HERRN in den Pfad bei den Weinbergen, da auf beiden Seiten Wände waren.(D) Num 22:24 καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν ταῖς αὔλαξιν τῶν ἀμπέλων φραγμὸς ἐντεῦθεν καὶ φραγμὸς ἐντεῦθεν(lxx) Num 22:24 Then the Angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:25 ============ Num 22:25 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pressed herself to the wall and pressed Balaam's foot against the wall, so he struck her again.(nasb) Num 22:25 Quem videns asina, junxit se parieti, et attrivit sedentis pedem. At ille iterum verberabat eam:(vulgate) Números 22:25 Y viendo el asna al Ángel de Jehová, se pegó a la pared, y apretó contra la pared el pie de Balaam: y él volvió a azotarla.(E) Nombres 22:25 L'ânesse vit l'ange de l'Eternel; elle se serra contre le mur, et pressa le pied de Balaam contre le mur. Balaam la frappa de nouveau.(F) Num 22:25 Und da die Eselin den Engel des HERRN sah, drängte sie sich an die Wand und klemmte Bileam den Fuß an der Wand; und er schlug sie noch mehr.(D) Num 22:25 καὶ ἰδοῦσα ἡ ὄνος τὸν ἄγγελον τοῦ θεοῦ προσέθλιψεν ἑαυτὴν πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον καὶ ἀπέθλιψεν τὸν πόδα Βαλααμ καὶ προσέθετο ἔτι μαστίξαι αὐτήν(lxx) Num 22:25 And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall; so he struck her again.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:26 ============ Num 22:26 The angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn to the right hand or the left.(nasb) Num 22:26 et nihilominus angelus ad locum angustum transiens, ubi nec ad dexteram, nec ad sinistram poterat deviare, obvius stetit.(vulgate) Números 22:26 Y el Ángel de Jehová pasó más allá, y se puso en una angostura, donde no había camino para apartarse ni a derecha ni a izquierda.(E) Nombres 22:26 L'ange de l'Eternel passa plus loin, et se plaça dans un lieu où il n'y avait point d'espace pour se détourner à droite ou à gauche.(F) Num 22:26 Da ging der Engel des HERRN weiter und trat an einen engen Ort, da kein Weg war zu weichen, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken.(D) Num 22:26 καὶ προσέθετο ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἀπελθὼν ὑπέστη ἐν τόπῳ στενῷ εἰς ὃν οὐκ ἦν ἐκκλῖναι δεξιὰν οὐδὲ ἀριστεράν(lxx) Num 22:26 Then the Angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:27 ============ Num 22:27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his stick.(nasb) Num 22:27 Cumque vidisset asina stantem angelum, concidit sub pedibus sedentis: qui iratus, vehementius cædebat fuste latera ejus.(vulgate) Números 22:27 Y viendo el asna al Ángel de Jehová, se echó debajo de Balaam; y se enojó Balaam, y golpeó al asna con un palo.(E) Nombres 22:27 L'ânesse vit l'ange de l'Eternel, et elle s'abattit sous Balaam. Da ergrimmte der Zorn Bileams, und er schlug die Eselin mit dem Stabe.(D) Num 22:27 καὶ ἰδοῦσα ἡ ὄνος τὸν ἄγγελον τοῦ θεοῦ συνεκάθισεν ὑποκάτω Βαλααμ καὶ ἐθυμώθη Βαλααμ καὶ ἔτυπτεν τὴν ὄνον τῇ ῥάβδῳ(lxx) Num 22:27 And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam's anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:28 ============ Num 22:28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"(nasb) Num 22:28 Aperuitque Dominus os asinæ, et locuta est: Quid feci tibi? cur percutis me ecce jam tertio?(vulgate) Números 22:28 Entonces Jehová abrió la boca al asna, la cual dijo a Balaam: ¿Qué te he hecho, que me has herido estas tres veces?(E) Nombres 22:28 L'Eternel ouvrit la bouche de l'ânesse, et elle dit à Balaam: Que t'ai je fait, pour que tu m'aies frappée déjà trois fois?(F) Num 22:28 Da tat der HERR der Eselin den Mund auf, und sie sprach zu Bileam: Was habe ich dir getan, daß du mich geschlagen hast nun dreimal?(D) Num 22:28 καὶ ἤνοιξεν ὁ θεὸς τὸ στόμα τῆς ὄνου καὶ λέγει τῷ Βαλααμ τί ἐποίησά σοι ὅτι πέπαικάς με τοῦτο τρίτον(lxx) Num 22:28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:29 ============ Num 22:29 Then Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have made a mockery of me! If there had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now."(nasb) Num 22:29 Respondit Balaam: Quia commeruisti, et illusisti mihi: utinam haberem gladium, ut te percuterem!(vulgate) Números 22:29 Y Balaam respondió al asna: Porque te has burlado de mí: ¡Bueno fuera que tuviera espada en mi mano, ahora mismo te mataría!(E) Nombres 22:29 Balaam répondit à l'ânesse: C'est parce que tu t'es moquée de moi; si j'avais une épée dans la main, je te tuerais à l'instant.(F) Num 22:29 Bileam sprach zur Eselin: Daß du mich höhnest! ach, daß ich jetzt ein Schwert in der Hand hätte, ich wollte dich erwürgen!(D) Num 22:29 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ τῇ ὄνῳ ὅτι ἐμπέπαιχάς μοι καὶ εἰ εἶχον μάχαιραν ἐν τῇ χειρί μου ἤδη ἂν ἐξεκέντησά σε(lxx) Num 22:29 And Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:30 ============ Num 22:30 The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you?" And he said, "No."(nasb) Num 22:30 Dixit asina: Nonne animal tuum sum, cui semper sedere consuevisti usque in præsentem diem? dic quid simile umquam fecerim tibi. At ille ait: Numquam.(vulgate) Números 22:30 Y el asna dijo a Balaam: ¿No soy yo tu asna? sobre mí has cabalgado desde que tú me tienes hasta este día; ¿he acostumbrado a hacerlo así contigo? Y él respondió: No.(E) Nombres 22:30 L'ânesse dit à Balaam: Ne suis-je pas ton ânesse, que tu as de tout temps montée jusqu'à ce jour? Ai-je l'habitude de te faire ainsi? Et il répondit: Non.(F) Num 22:30 Die Eselin sprach zu Bileam: Bin ich nicht deine Eselin, darauf du geritten bist zu deiner Zeit bis auf diesen Tag? Habe ich auch je gepflegt, dir also zu tun? Er sprach: Nein.(D) Num 22:30 καὶ λέγει ἡ ὄνος τῷ Βαλααμ οὐκ ἐγὼ ἡ ὄνος σου ἐφ᾽ ἧς ἐπέβαινες ἀπὸ νεότητός σου ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας μὴ ὑπεροράσει ὑπεριδοῦσα ἐποίησά σοι οὕτως ὁ δὲ εἶπεν οὐχί(lxx) Num 22:30 So the donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?" And he said, "No."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:31 ============ Num 22:31 Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand; and he bowed all the way to the ground.(nasb) Num 22:31 Protinus aperuit Dominus oculos Balaam, et vidit angelum stantem in via, evaginato gladio, adoravitque eum pronus in terram.(vulgate) Números 22:31 Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos a Balaam, y vio al Ángel de Jehová que estaba en el camino, y tenía su espada desnuda en su mano. Y Balaam hizo reverencia, y se inclinó sobre su rostro.(E) Nombres 22:31 L'Eternel ouvrit les yeux de Balaam, et Balaam vit l'ange de l'Eternel qui se tenait sur le chemin, son épée nue dans la main; et il s'inclina, et se prosterna sur son visage.(F) Num 22:31 Da öffnete der HERR dem Bileam die Augen, daß er den Engel des HERRN sah im Wege stehen und ein bloßes Schwert in seiner Hand, und er neigte und bückte sich mit seinem Angesicht.(D) Num 22:31 ἀπεκάλυψεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς Βαλααμ καὶ ὁρᾷ τὸν ἄγγελον κυρίου ἀνθεστηκότα ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ καὶ τὴν μάχαιραν ἐσπασμένην ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ κύψας προσεκύνησεν τῷ προσώπῳ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Num 22:31 Then the Lord opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:32 ============ Num 22:32 The angel of the Lord said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was contrary to me.(nasb) Num 22:32 Cui angelus: Cur, inquit, tertio verberas asinam tuam? ego veni ut adversarer tibi, quia perversa est via tua, mihique contraria:(vulgate) Números 22:32 Y el Ángel de Jehová le dijo: ¿Por qué has herido tu asna estas tres veces? he aquí yo he salido para contrarrestarte, porque tu camino es perverso delante de mí:(E) Nombres 22:32 L'ange de l'Eternel lui dit: Pourquoi as-tu frappé ton ânesse déjà trois fois? Voici, je suis sorti pour te résister, car c'est un chemin de perdition qui est devant moi.(F) Num 22:32 Und der Engel des HERRN sprach zu ihm: Warum hast du deine Eselin geschlagen nun dreimal? Siehe, ich bin ausgegangen, daß ich dir widerstehe; denn dein Weg ist vor mir verkehrt.(D) Num 22:32 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ διὰ τί ἐπάταξας τὴν ὄνον σου τοῦτο τρίτον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξῆλθον εἰς διαβολήν σου ὅτι οὐκ ἀστεία ἡ ὁδός σου ἐναντίον μου(lxx) Num 22:32 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:33 ============ Num 22:33 But the donkey saw me and turned aside from me these three times. If she had not turned aside from me, I would surely have killed you just now, and let her live."(nasb) Num 22:33 et nisi asina declinasset de via, dans locum resistenti, te occidissem, et illa viveret.~(vulgate) Números 22:33 El asna me ha visto, y se ha apartado luego de delante de mí estas tres veces; y si de mí no se hubiera apartado, yo también ahora te mataría a ti, y a ella dejaría viva.(E) Nombres 22:33 L'ânesse m'a vu, et elle s'est détournée devant moi déjà trois fois; si elle ne se fût pas détournée de moi, je t'aurais même tué, et je lui aurais laissé la vie.(F) Num 22:33 Und die Eselin hat mich gesehen und ist dreimal ausgewichen; sonst, wo sie nicht vor mir gewichen wäre, so wollte ich dich auch jetzt erwürgt und die Eselin lebendig erhalten haben.(D) Num 22:33 καὶ ἰδοῦσά με ἡ ὄνος ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τρίτον τοῦτο καὶ εἰ μὴ ἐξέκλινεν νῦν οὖν σὲ μὲν ἀπέκτεινα ἐκείνην δὲ περιεποιησάμην(lxx) Num 22:33 The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:34 ============ Num 22:34 Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, "I have sinned, for I did not know that you were standing in the way against me. Now then, if it is displeasing to you, I will turn back."(nasb) Num 22:34 Dixit Balaam: Peccavi, nesciens quod tu stares contra me: et nunc si displicet tibi ut vadam, revertar.(vulgate) Números 22:34 Entonces Balaam dijo al Ángel de Jehová: He pecado, pues no sabía que tú te ponías delante de mí en el camino; mas ahora, si te parece mal, yo me volveré.(E) Nombres 22:34 Balaam dit à l'ange de l'Eternel: J'ai péché, car je ne savais pas que tu te fusses placé au-devant de moi sur le chemin; et maintenant, si tu me désapprouves, je m'en retournerai.(F) Num 22:34 Da sprach Bileam zu dem Engel des HERRN: Ich habe gesündigt; denn ich habe es nicht gewußt, daß du mir entgegenstandest im Wege. Und nun, so dir's nicht gefällt, will ich wieder umkehren.(D) Num 22:34 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ τῷ ἀγγέλῳ κυρίου ἡμάρτηκα οὐ γὰρ ἠπιστάμην ὅτι σύ μοι ἀνθέστηκας ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ εἰς συνάντησιν καὶ νῦν εἰ μή σοι ἀρέσκει ἀποστραφήσομαι(lxx) Num 22:34 And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, "I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Why did you not come to me? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able to honor you?"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 22:38 ============ Num 22:38 So Balaam said to Balak, "Behold, I have come now to you! Am I able to speak anything at all? The word that God puts in my mouth, that I shall speak."(nasb) Num 22:38 Cui ille respondit: Ecce adsum: numquid loqui potero aliud, nisi quod Deus posuerit in ore meo?(vulgate) Números 22:38 Y Balaam respondió a Balac: He aquí yo he venido a ti: mas ¿podré ahora hablar alguna cosa? La palabra que Dios pusiere en mi boca, esa hablaré.(E) Nombres 22:38 Balaam dit à Balak: Voici, je suis venu vers toi; maintenant, me sera-t-il permis de dire quoi que ce soit? Now, have I any power at all to say anything?
