So he went to a bare hill.(nasb) Num 23:3 Dixitque Balaam ad Balac: Sta paulisper juxta holocaustum tuum, donec vadam, si forte occurrat mihi Dominus, et quodcumque imperaverit, loquar tibi.(vulgate) Números 23:3 Y Balaam dijo a Balac: Ponte junto a tu holocausto, y yo iré: quizá Jehová vendrá a encontrarme, y cualquier cosa que Él me muestre, te la haré saber. Y se fue a un monte.(E) Nombres 23:3 Balaam dit à Balak: Tiens-toi près de ton holocauste, et je m'éloignerai; peut-être que l'Eternel viendra à ma rencontre, et je te dirai ce qu'il me révélera. Et il alla sur un lieu élevé.(F) Num 23:3 Und Bileam sprach zu Balak: Tritt zu deinem Brandopfer; ich will hingehen, ob vielleicht mir der HERR begegne, daß ich dir ansage, was er mir zeigt. Und ging hin eilend.(D) Num 23:3 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ πρὸς Βαλακ παράστηθι ἐπὶ τῆς θυσίας σου καὶ πορεύσομαι εἴ μοι φανεῖται ὁ θεὸς ἐν συναντήσει καὶ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐάν μοι δείξῃ ἀναγγελῶ σοι καὶ παρέστη Βαλακ ἐπὶ τῆς θυσίας αὐτοῦ καὶ Βαλααμ ἐπορεύθη ἐπερωτῆσαι τὸν θεὸν καὶ ἐπορεύθη εὐθεῖαν(lxx) Num 23:3 Then Balaam said to Balak, "Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the Lord will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you." So he went to a desolate height.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:4 ============ Num 23:4 Now God met Balaam, and he said to Him, "I have set up the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on each altar."(nasb) Num 23:4 Cumque abiisset velociter, occurrit illi Deus. Locutusque ad eum Balaam: Septem, inquit, aras erexi, et imposui vitulum et arietem desuper.(vulgate) Números 23:4 Y vino Dios al encuentro de Balaam, y éste le dijo: Siete altares he ordenado, y en cada altar he ofrecido un becerro y un carnero.(E) Nombres 23:4 Dieu vint au-devant de Balaam, et Balaam lui dit: J'ai dressé sept autels, et j'ai offert un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.(F) Num 23:4 Und Gott begegnete Bileam; er aber sprach zu ihm: Sieben Altäre habe ich zugerichtet und je auf einem Altar einen Farren und einen Widder geopfert.(D) Num 23:4 καὶ ἐφάνη ὁ θεὸς τῷ Βαλααμ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Βαλααμ τοὺς ἑπτὰ βωμοὺς ἡτοίμασα καὶ ἀνεβίβασα μόσχον καὶ κριὸν ἐπὶ τὸν βωμόν(lxx) Num 23:4 And God met Balaam, and he said to Him, "I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:5 ============ Num 23:5 Then the Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth and said, "Return to Balak, and you shall speak thus."(nasb) Num 23:5 Dominus autem posuit verbum in ore ejus, et ait: Revertere ad Balac, et hæc loqueris.(vulgate) Números 23:5 Y Jehová puso palabra en la boca de Balaam, y le dijo: Vuelve a Balac, y has de hablar así.(E) Nombres 23:5 L'Eternel mit des paroles dans la bouche de Balaam, et dit: Retourne vers Balak, et tu parleras ainsi.(F) Num 23:5 Der HERR aber gab das Wort dem Bileam in den Mund und sprach: Gehe wieder zu Balak und rede also.(D) Num 23:5 καὶ ἐνέβαλεν ὁ θεὸς ῥῆμα εἰς τὸ στόμα Βαλααμ καὶ εἶπεν ἐπιστραφεὶς πρὸς Βαλακ οὕτως λαλήσεις(lxx) Num 23:5 Then the Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, "Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:6 ============ Num 23:6 So he returned to him, and behold, he was standing beside his burnt offering, he and all the leaders of Moab.(nasb) Num 23:6 Reversus invenit stantem Balac juxta holocaustum suum, et omnes principes Moabitarum:(vulgate) Números 23:6 Y volvió a él, y he aquí estaba él junto a su holocausto, él y todos los príncipes de Moab.(E) Nombres 23:6 Il retourna vers lui; et voici, Balak se tenait près de son holocauste, lui et tous les chefs de Moab.(F) Num 23:6 Und da er wieder zu ihm kam, siehe, da stand er bei dem Brandopfer samt allen Fürsten der Moabiter.(D) Num 23:6 καὶ ἀπεστράφη πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ὅδε ἐφειστήκει ἐπὶ τῶν ὁλοκαυτωμάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες Μωαβ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Num 23:6 So he returned to him, and there he was, standing by his burnt offering, he and all the princes of Moab.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:7 ============ Num 23:7 He took up his discourse and said, "From Aram Balak has brought me, Moab's king from the mountains of the East,' Come curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!'(nasb) Num 23:7 assumptaque parabola sua, dixit: [De Aram adduxit me Balac rex Moabitarum, de montibus orientis: Veni, inquit, et maledic Jacob; propera, et detestare Israël.(vulgate) Números 23:7 Y él tomó su parábola, y dijo: De Aram me trajo Balac, rey de Moab, de los montes del oriente: Ven, maldíceme a Jacob; y ven, execra a Israel.(E) Nombres 23:7 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Balak m'a fait descendre d'Aram, Le roi de Moab m'a fait descendre des montagnes de l'Orient. -Viens, maudis-moi Jacob! Viens, sois irrité contre Israël!(F) Num 23:7 Da hob er an seinen Spruch und sprach: Aus Syrien hat mich Balak, der Moabiter König, holen lassen von dem Gebirge gegen Aufgang: Komm, verfluche mir Jakob! komm schilt Israel!(D) Num 23:7 καὶ ἐγενήθη πνεῦμα θεοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ καὶ ἀναλαβὼν τὴν παραβολὴν αὐτοῦ εἶπεν ἐκ Μεσοποταμίας μετεπέμψατό με Βαλακ βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἐξ ὀρέων ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν λέγων δεῦρο ἄρασαί μοι τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ δεῦρο ἐπικατάρασαί μοι τὸν Ισραηλ(lxx) Num 23:7 And he took up his oracle and said: "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, From the mountains of the east. 'Come, curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!'(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:8 ============ Num 23:8 "How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how can I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?(nasb) Num 23:8 Quomodo maledicam, cui non maledixit Deus? qua ratione detester, quem Dominus non detestatur?(vulgate) Números 23:8 ¿Por qué maldeciré yo al que Dios no maldijo? ¿Y por qué he de execrar al que Jehová no ha execrado?(E) Nombres 23:8 Comment maudirais-je celui que Dieu n'a point maudit? Comment serais-je irrité quand l'Eternel n'est point irrité?(F) Num 23:8 Wie soll ich fluchen, dem Gott nicht flucht? Wie soll ich schelten, den der HERR nicht schilt?(D) Num 23:8 τί ἀράσωμαι ὃν μὴ καταρᾶται κύριος ἢ τί καταράσωμαι ὃν μὴ καταρᾶται ὁ θεός(lxx) Num 23:8 "How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:9 ============ Num 23:9 "As I see him from the top of the rocks, And I look at him from the hills; Behold, a people who dwells apart, And will not be reckoned among the nations.(nasb) Num 23:9 De summis silicibus videbo eum, et de collibus considerabo illum. Populus solus habitabit, et inter gentes non reputabitur.(vulgate) Números 23:9 Porque de la cumbre de las peñas lo veré, y desde los collados lo miraré: He aquí un pueblo que habitará apartado, y no será contado entre las naciones.(E) Nombres 23:9 Je le vois du sommet des rochers, Je le contemple du haut des collines: C'est un peuple qui a sa demeure à part, Et qui ne fait point partie des nations.(F) Num 23:9 Denn von der Höhe der Felsen sehe ich ihn wohl, und von den Hügeln schaue ich ihn. Siehe, das Volk wird besonders wohnen und nicht unter die Heiden gerechnet werden.(D) Num 23:9 ὅτι ἀπὸ κορυφῆς ὀρέων ὄψομαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἀπὸ βουνῶν προσνοήσω αὐτόν ἰδοὺ λαὸς μόνος κατοικήσει καὶ ἐν ἔθνεσιν οὐ συλλογισθήσεται(lxx) Num 23:9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling alone, Not reckoning itself among the nations.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:10 ============ Num 23:10 "Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, And let my end be like his!"(nasb) Num 23:10 Quis dinumerare possit pulverem Jacob, et nosse numerum stirpis Israël? Moriatur anima mea morte justorum, et fiant novissima mea horum similia.]~(vulgate) Números 23:10 ¿Quién contará el polvo de Jacob, o el número de la cuarta parte de Israel? Muera mi persona de la muerte de los rectos, y mi postrimería sea como la suya.(E) Nombres 23:10 Qui peut compter la poussière de Jacob, Et dire le nombre du quart d'Israël? Que je meure de la mort des justes, Et que ma fin soit semblable à la leur!(F) Num 23:10 Wer kann zählen den Staub Jakobs und die Zahl des vierten Teils Israels? Meine Seele müsse sterben des Todes der Gerechten, und mein Ende werde wie dieser Ende!(D) Num 23:10 τίς ἐξηκριβάσατο τὸ σπέρμα Ιακωβ καὶ τίς ἐξαριθμήσεται δήμους Ισραηλ ἀποθάνοι ἡ ψυχή μου ἐν ψυχαῖς δικαίων καὶ γένοιτο τὸ σπέρμα μου ὡς τὸ σπέρμα τούτων(lxx) Num 23:10 "Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number one-fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, And let my end be like his!"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:11 ============ Num 23:11 Then Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, but behold, you have actually blessed them!"(nasb) Num 23:11 Dixitque Balac ad Balaam: Quid est hoc quod agis? ut malediceres inimicis meis vocavi te, et tu e contrario benedicis eis.(vulgate) Números 23:11 Entonces Balac dijo a Balaam: ¿Qué me has hecho? Te tomé para que maldigas a mis enemigos, y he aquí has proferido bendiciones.(E) Nombres 23:11 Balak dit à Balaam: Que m'as-tu fait? Je t'ai pris pour maudire mon ennemi, et voici, tu le bénis!(F) Num 23:11 Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Was tust du an mir? Ich habe dich holen lassen, zu fluchen meinen Feinden; und siehe, du segnest.(D) Num 23:11 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλακ πρὸς Βαλααμ τί πεποίηκάς μοι εἰς κατάρασιν ἐχθρῶν μου κέκληκά σε καὶ ἰδοὺ εὐλόγηκας εὐλογίαν(lxx) Num 23:11 Then Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have blessed them bountifully!"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:12 ============ Num 23:12 He replied, "Must I not be careful to speak what the Lord puts in my mouth?"(nasb) Num 23:12 Cui ille respondit: Num aliud possum loqui, nisi quod jusserit Dominus?(vulgate) Números 23:12 Y él respondió, y dijo: ¿No observaré yo lo que Jehová pusiere en mi boca para decirlo?(E) Nombres 23:12 Il répondit, et dit: N'aurai-je pas soin de dire ce que l'Eternel met dans ma bouche?(F) Num 23:12 Er antwortete und sprach: Muß ich das nicht halten und reden, was mir der HERR in den Mund gibt?(D) Num 23:12 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ πρὸς Βαλακ οὐχὶ ὅσα ἐὰν ἐμβάλῃ ὁ θεὸς εἰς τὸ στόμα μου τοῦτο φυλάξω λαλῆσαι(lxx) Num 23:12 So he answered and said, "Must I not take heed to speak what the Lord has put in my mouth?"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:13 ============ Num 23:13 Then Balak said to him, "Please come with me to another place from where you may see them, although you will only see the extreme end of them and will not see all of them; and curse them for me from there."(nasb) Num 23:13 Dixit ergo Balac: Veni mecum in alterum locum unde partem Israël videas, et totum videre non possis: inde maledicito ei.(vulgate) Números 23:13 Y dijo Balac: Te ruego que vengas conmigo a otro lugar desde el cual los veas; solamente verás un extremo de ellos, y no los verás todos; y desde allí me lo maldecirás.(E) Nombres 23:13 Balak lui dit: Viens donc avec moi dans un autre lieu, d'où tu le verras; tu n'en verras qu'une partie, tu n'en verras pas la totalité. Et de là maudis-le-moi.(F) Num 23:13 Balak sprach zu ihm: Komm doch mit mir an einen andern Ort, von wo du nur sein Ende sehest und es nicht ganz sehest, und fluche mir ihm daselbst.(D) Num 23:13 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Βαλακ δεῦρο ἔτι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰς τόπον ἄλλον ἐξ ὧν οὐκ ὄψῃ αὐτὸν ἐκεῖθεν ἀλλ᾽ ἢ μέρος τι αὐτοῦ ὄψῃ πάντας δὲ οὐ μὴ ἴδῃς καὶ κατάρασαί μοι αὐτὸν ἐκεῖθεν(lxx) Num 23:13 Then Balak said to him, "Please come with me to another place from which you may see them; you shall see only the outer part of them, and shall not see them all; curse them for me from there."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:14 ============ Num 23:14 So he took him to the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.(nasb) Num 23:14 Cumque duxisset eum in locum sublimem, super verticem montis Phasga, ædificavit Balaam septem aras, et impositis supra vitulo atque ariete,(vulgate) Números 23:14 Y lo llevó al campo de Sofim, a la cumbre de Pisga, y edificó siete altares, y ofreció un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.(E) Nombres 23:14 Il le mena au champ de Tsophim, sur le sommet du Pisga; il bâtit sept autels, et offrit un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.(F) Num 23:14 Und er führte ihn auf einen freien Platz auf der Höhe Pisga und baute sieben Altäre und opferte je auf einem Altar einen Farren und einen Widder.(D) Num 23:14 καὶ παρέλαβεν αὐτὸν εἰς ἀγροῦ σκοπιὰν ἐπὶ κορυφὴν λελαξευμένου καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ ἑπτὰ βωμοὺς καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν μόσχον καὶ κριὸν ἐπὶ τὸν βωμόν(lxx) Num 23:14 So he brought him to the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:15 ============ Num 23:15 And he said to Balak, "Stand here beside your burnt offering while I myself meet the Lord over there."(nasb) Num 23:15 dixit ad Balac: Sta hic juxta holocaustum tuum, donec ego obvius pergam.(vulgate) Números 23:15 Entonces él dijo a Balac: Ponte aquí junto a tu holocausto, y yo iré a encontrar a Dios allí.(E) Nombres 23:15 Balaam dit à Balak: Tiens-toi ici, près de ton holocauste, et j'irai à la rencontre de Dieu.(F) Num 23:15 Und (Bileam) sprach zu Balak: Tritt her zu deinem Brandopfer; ich will dort warten.(D) Num 23:15 καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ πρὸς Βαλακ παράστηθι ἐπὶ τῆς θυσίας σου ἐγὼ δὲ πορεύσομαι ἐπερωτῆσαι τὸν θεόν(lxx) Num 23:15 And he said to Balak, "Stand here by your burnt offering while I meet the Lord over there."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:16 ============ Num 23:16 Then the Lord met Balaam and put a word in his mouth and said, "Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak."(nasb) Num 23:16 Cui cum Dominus occurrisset, posuissetque verbum in ore ejus, ait: Revertere ad Balac, et hæc loqueris ei.(vulgate) Números 23:16 Y Jehová salió al encuentro de Balaam, y puso palabra en su boca, y le dijo: Vuelve a Balac, y así has de decir.(E) Nombres 23:16 L'Eternel vint au-devant de Balaam; il mit des paroles dans sa bouche, et dit: Retourne vers Balak, et tu parleras ainsi.(F) Num 23:16 Und der HERR begegnete Bileam und gab ihm das Wort in seinen Mund und sprach: Gehe wieder zu Balak und rede also.(D) Num 23:16 καὶ συνήντησεν ὁ θεὸς τῷ Βαλααμ καὶ ἐνέβαλεν ῥῆμα εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἀποστράφητι πρὸς Βαλακ καὶ τάδε λαλήσεις(lxx) Num 23:16 Then the Lord met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, "Go back to Balak, and thus you shall speak."(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:17 ============ Num 23:17 He came to him, and behold, he was standing beside his burnt offering, and the leaders of Moab with him. And Balak said to him, "What has the Lord spoken?"(nasb) Num 23:17 Reversus invenit eum stantem juxta holocaustum suum, et principes Moabitarum cum eo. And Balak said to him, "What has the Lord spoken?"(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:18 ============ Num 23:18 Then he took up his discourse and said, "Arise, O Balak, and hear; Give ear to me, O son of Zippor!(nasb) Num 23:18 At ille, assumpta parabola sua, ait: [Sta, Balac, et ausculta; audi, fili Sephor:(vulgate) Números 23:18 Entonces él tomó su parábola, y dijo: Balac, levántate y oye; Escucha mis palabras, hijo de Zipor:(E) Nombres 23:18 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Lève-toi, Balak, écoute! Listen to me, son of Zippor!(nkjv) ======= Numbers 23:19 ============ Num 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?(nasb) Num 23:19 non est Deus quasi homo, ut mentiatur, nec ut filius hominis, ut mutetur. Dixit ergo, et non faciet? locutus est, et non implebit?(vulgate) Números 23:19 Dios no es hombre, para que mienta; ni hijo de hombre para que se arrepienta: Él dijo, ¿y no hará? Habló, ¿y no lo ejecutará?(E) Nombres 23:19 Dieu n'est point un homme pour mentir, Ni fils d'un homme pour se repentir. Ce qu'il a dit, ne le fera-t-il pas? Ce qu'il a déclaré, ne l'exécutera-t il pas?(F) Num 23:19 Gott ist nicht ein Mensch, daß er lüge, noch ein Menschenkind, daß ihn etwas gereue. Sollte er etwas sagen und nicht tun?
