And it shall be, that whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hands and take it.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:7 ============ 1Ki 20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, "Please observe and see how this man is looking for trouble; for he sent to me for my wives and my children and my silver and my gold, and I did not refuse him."(nasb) 1Ki 20:7 Vocavit autem rex Israël omnes seniores terræ, et ait: Animadvertite, et videte quoniam insidietur nobis: misit enim ad me pro uxoribus meis, et filiis, et pro argento et auro: et non abnui.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:7 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a todos los ancianos de la tierra, y les dijo: Entended, y ved ahora cómo éste no busca sino mal; pues ha enviado a mí por mis esposas y mis hijos, y por mi plata y por mi oro; y yo no se lo he negado.(E) 1 Rois 20:7 Le roi d'Israël appela tous les anciens du pays, et il dit: Sentez bien et comprenez que cet homme nous veut du mal; car il m'a envoyé demander mes femmes et mes enfants, mon argent et mon or, et je ne lui avais pas refusé!(F) 1Ki 20:7 Da rief der König Israels alle Ältesten des Landes und sprach: Merkt und seht, wie böse er's vornimmt! Er hat zu mir gesandt um meine Weiber und Kinder, Silber und Gold, und ich hab ihm nichts verweigert.(D) 1Ki 20:7 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ εἶπεν γνῶτε δὴ καὶ ἴδετε ὅτι κακίαν οὗτος ζητεῖ ὅτι ἀπέσταλκεν πρός με περὶ τῶν γυναικῶν μου καὶ περὶ τῶν υἱῶν μου καὶ περὶ τῶν θυγατέρων μου τὸ ἀργύριόν μου καὶ τὸ χρυσίον μου οὐκ ἀπεκώλυσα ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) 1Ki 20:7 So the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, "Notice, please, and see how this man seeks trouble, for he sent to me for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold; and I did not deny him."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:8 ============ 1Ki 20:8 All the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not listen or consent."(nasb) 1Ki 20:8 Dixeruntque omnes majores natu, et universus populus, ad eum: Non audias, neque acquiescas illi.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:8 Y todos los ancianos y todo el pueblo le respondieron: No le obedezcas, ni hagas lo que te pide.(E) 1 Rois 20:8 Tous les anciens et tout le peuple dirent à Achab: Ne l'écoute pas et ne consens pas.(F) 1Ki 20:8 Da sprachen zu ihm alle Alten und das Volk: Du sollst nicht gehorchen noch bewilligen.(D) 1Ki 20:8 καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαός μὴ ἀκούσῃς καὶ μὴ θελήσῃς(lxx) 1Ki 20:8 And all the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not listen or consent."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:9 ============ 1Ki 20:9 So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.'" And the messengers departed and brought him word again.(nasb) 1Ki 20:9 Respondit itaque nuntiis Benadad: Dicite domino meo regi: Omnia propter quæ misisti ad me servum tuum in initio, faciam: hanc autem rem facere non possum.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:9 Entonces él respondió a los embajadores de Benadad: Decid al rey mi señor: Haré todo lo que mandaste a tu siervo al principio; pero esto no lo puedo hacer. Und die Boten gingen hin und sagten solches wieder.(D) 1Ki 20:9 καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀγγέλοις υἱοῦ Αδερ λέγετε τῷ κυρίῳ ὑμῶν πάντα ὅσα ἀπέσταλκας πρὸς τὸν δοῦλόν σου ἐν πρώτοις ποιήσω τὸ δὲ ῥῆμα τοῦτο οὐ δυνήσομαι ποιῆσαι καὶ ἀπῆραν οἱ ἄνδρες καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν αὐτῷ λόγον(lxx) 1Ki 20:9 Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you sent for to your servant the first time I will do, but this thing I cannot do.' " And the messengers departed and brought back word to him.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:10 ============ 1Ki 20:10 Ben-hadad sent to him and said, "May the gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria will suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me."(nasb) 1Ki 20:10 Reversique nuntii retulerunt ei. Qui remisit, et ait: Hæc faciant mihi dii, et hæc addant, si suffecerit pulvis Samariæ pugillis omnis populi qui sequitur me.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:10 Y Benadad envió a decirle: Así me hagan los dioses, y aun me añadan, que el polvo de Samaria no bastará a los puños de todo el pueblo que me sigue.(E) 1 Rois 20:10 Ben-Hadad envoya dire à Achab: Que les dieux me traitent dans toute leur rigueur, si la poussière de Samarie suffit pour remplir le creux de la main de tout le peuple qui me suit!(F) 1Ki 20:10 Da sandte Benhadad zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Die Götter tun mir dies und das, wo der Staub Samarias genug sein soll, daß alles Volk unter mir eine Handvoll davon bringe.(D) 1Ki 20:10 καὶ ἀνταπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν υἱὸς Αδερ λέγων τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη εἰ ἐκποιήσει ὁ χοῦς Σαμαρείας ταῖς ἀλώπεξιν παντὶ τῷ λαῷ τοῖς πεζοῖς μου(lxx) 1Ki 20:10 Then Ben-Hadad sent to him and said, "The gods do so to me, and more also, if enough dust is left of Samaria for a handful for each of the people who follow me."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:11 ============ 1Ki 20:11 Then the king of Israel replied, "Tell him, 'Let not him who girds on his armor boast like him who takes it off.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:11 Et respondens rex Israël, ait: Dicite ei: Ne glorietur, accinctus æque ut discinctus.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:11 Y el rey de Israel respondió, y dijo: Decidle, que no se alabe el que se ciñe [las armas], como el que las desciñe.(E) 1 Rois 20:11 Et le roi d'Israël répondit: Que celui qui revêt une armure ne se glorifie pas comme celui qui la dépose!(F) 1Ki 20:11 Aber der König Israels antwortete und sprach: Sagt: Der den Harnisch anlegt, soll sich nicht rühmen wie der, der ihn hat abgelegt.(D) 1Ki 20:11 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν ἱκανούσθω μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ κυρτὸς ὡς ὁ ὀρθός(lxx) 1Ki 20:11 So the king of Israel answered and said, "Tell him, 'Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:12 ============ 1Ki 20:12 When Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking with the kings in the temporary shelters, he said to his servants, "Station yourselves." So they stationed themselves against the city.(nasb) 1Ki 20:12 Factum est autem cum audisset Benadad verbum istud, bibebat ipse et reges in umbraculis: et ait servis suis: Circumdate civitatem. Et circumdederunt eam.~(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:12 Y cuando [Benadad] oyó esta palabra, estaba bebiendo con los reyes en las tiendas, y dijo a sus siervos: Tomad posiciones. Und sie schickten sich wider die Stadt.(D) 1Ki 20:12 καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ τὸν λόγον τοῦτον πίνων ἦν αὐτὸς καὶ πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν σκηναῖς καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ οἰκοδομήσατε χάρακα καὶ ἔθεντο χάρακα ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν(lxx) 1Ki 20:12 And it happened when Ben-Hadad heard this message, as he and the kings were drinking at the command post, that he said to his servants, "Get ready." And they got ready to attack the city.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:13 ============ 1Ki 20:13 Now behold, a prophet approached Ahab king of Israel and said, "Thus says the Lord, 'Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver them into your hand today, and you shall know that I am the Lord.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:13 Et ecce propheta unus accedens ad Achab regem Israël, ait ei: Hæc dicit Dominus: Certe vidisti omnem multitudinem hanc nimiam? ecce ego tradam eam in manu tua hodie, ut scias quia ego sum Dominus.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:13 Y he aquí un profeta se acercó a Acab, rey de Israel, y le dijo: Así dice Jehová: ¿Has visto toda esta gran multitud? Siehe, ich will ihn heute in deine Hand geben, daß du wissen sollst, ich sei der HERR.(D) 1Ki 20:13 καὶ ἰδοὺ προφήτης εἷς προσῆλθεν τῷ βασιλεῖ Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύριος εἰ ἑόρακας πάντα τὸν ὄχλον τὸν μέγαν τοῦτον ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτὸν σήμερον εἰς χεῖρας σάς καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος(lxx) 1Ki 20:13 Suddenly a prophet approached Ahab king of Israel, saying, "Thus says the Lord: 'Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am the Lord.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:14 ============ 1Ki 20:14 Ahab said, "By whom?" So he said, "Thus says the Lord, 'By the young men of the rulers of the provinces.'" Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" And he answered, "You."(nasb) 1Ki 20:14 Et ait Achab: Per quem? Dixitque ei: Hæc dicit Dominus: Per pedissequos principum provinciarum. Et ait: Quis incipiet præliari? Et ille dixit: Tu.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:14 Y respondió Acab: ¿Por mano de quién? And he said, "Thus says the Lord: 'By the young leaders of the provinces.' " Then he said, "Who will set the battle in order?" And he answered, "You."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:15 ============ 1Ki 20:15 Then he mustered the young men of the rulers of the provinces, and there were 232; and after them he mustered all the people, even all the sons of Israel, 7,000.(nasb) 1Ki 20:15 Recensuit ergo pueros principum provinciarum, et reperit numerum ducentorum triginta duorum: et recensuit post eos populum, omnes filios Israël, septem millia.(vulgate) 1 Reyes 20:15 Entonces él pasó revista a los jóvenes de los príncipes de las provincias, los cuales fueron doscientos treinta y dos.
