Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 20:1 ============ Isa 20:1 In the year that the commander came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him and he fought against Ashdod and captured it,(nasb) Isa 20:1 In anno quo ingressus est Thathan in Azotum, cum misisset eum Sargon, rex Assyriorum, et pugnasset contra Azotum, et cepisset eam:(vulgate) Isaías 20:1 En el año que vino Tartán a Asdod, cuando le envió Sargón, rey de Asiria, y peleó contra Asdod y la tomó.(E) Ésaïe 20:1 L'année où Tharthan, envoyé par Sargon, roi d'Assyrie, vint assiéger Asdod et s'en empara,(F) Isa 20:1 Im Jahr, da der Tharthan gen Asdod kam, als ihn gesandt hatte Sargon, der König von Assyrien, und stritt gegen Asdod und gewann es,(D) Isa 20:1 τοῦ ἔτους οὗ εἰσῆλθεν Ταναθαν εἰς Ἄζωτον ἡνίκα ἀπεστάλη ὑπὸ Αρνα βασιλέως Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἐπολέμησεν τὴν Ἄζωτον καὶ κατελάβετο αὐτήν(lxx) Isa 20:1 In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 20:2 ============ Isa 20:2 at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, "Go and loosen the sackcloth from your hips and take your shoes off your feet." And he did so, going naked and barefoot.(nasb) Isa 20:2 in tempore illo locutus est Dominus in manu Isaiæ, filii Amos, dicens: Vade, et solve saccum de lumbis tuis, et calceamenta tua tolle de pedibus tuis. Et fecit sic, vadens nudus et discalceatus.(vulgate) Isaías 20:2 En aquel tiempo habló Jehová por Isaías, hijo de Amoz, diciendo: Ve, y quita el cilicio de tus lomos, y quita las sandalias de tus pies. Y lo hizo así, andando desnudo y descalzo.(E) Ésaïe 20:2 en ce temps-là l'Eternel adressa la parole à Esaïe, fils d'Amots, et lui dit: Va, détache le sac de tes reins et ôte tes souliers de tes pieds. Il fit ainsi, marcha nu et déchaussé.(F) Isa 20:2 zu derselben Zeit redete der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn des Amoz, und sprach: Gehe hin und zieh ab den Sack von deinen Lenden und zieh deine Schuhe aus von deinen Füßen. Und er tut also, ging nackt und barfuß.(D) Isa 20:2 τότε ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Ησαιαν λέγων πορεύου καὶ ἄφελε τὸν σάκκον ἀπὸ τῆς ὀσφύος σου καὶ τὰ σανδάλιά σου ὑπόλυσαι ἀπὸ τῶν ποδῶν σου καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως πορευόμενος γυμνὸς καὶ ἀνυπόδετος(lxx) Isa 20:2 at the same time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, "Go, and remove the sackcloth from your body, and take your sandals off your feet." And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 20:3 ============ Isa 20:3 And the Lord said, "Even as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot three years as a sign and token against Egypt and Cush,(nasb) Isa 20:3 Et dixit Dominus: [Sicut ambulavit servus meus Isaias nudus et discalceatus, trium annorum signum et portentum erit super Ægyptum et super Æthiopiam;(vulgate) Isaías 20:3 Y dijo Jehová: De la manera que anduvo mi siervo Isaías desnudo y descalzo tres años, [por] señal y pronóstico sobre Egipto y sobre Etiopía;(E) Ésaïe 20:3 Et l'Eternel dit: De même que mon serviteur Esaïe marche nu et déchaussé, ce qui sera dans trois ans un signe et un présage pour l'Egypte et pour l'Ethiopie,(F) Isa 20:3 Da sprach der HERR: Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja nackt und barfuß geht, zum Zeichen und Wunder dreier Jahre über Ägypten und Mohrenland,(D) Isa 20:3 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὃν τρόπον πεπόρευται Ησαιας ὁ παῖς μου γυμνὸς καὶ ἀνυπόδετος τρία ἔτη ἔσται σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις καὶ Αἰθίοψιν(lxx) Isa 20:3 Then the Lord said, "Just as My servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and a wonder against Egypt and Ethiopia,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 20:4 ============ Isa 20:4 so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.(nasb) Isa 20:4 sic minabit rex Assyriorum captivitatem Ægypti, et transmigrationem Æthiopiæ, juvenum et senum, nudam et discalceatam, discoopertis natibus, ad ignominiam Ægypti.(vulgate) Isaías 20:4 así llevará el rey de Asiria a los cautivos de Egipto y a los exiliados de Etiopía, a jóvenes y a viejos, desnudos y descalzos, y con las nalgas descubiertas para vergüenza de Egipto.(E) Ésaïe 20:4 de même le roi d'Assyrie emmènera de l'Egypte et de l'Ethiopie captifs et exilés les jeunes hommes et les vieillards, nus et déchaussés, et le dos découvert, à la honte de l'Egypte.(F) Isa 20:4 also wird der König von Assyrien hintreiben das ganze gefangene Ägypten und vertriebene Mohrenland, beide, jung und alt, nackt und barfuß, in schmählicher Blöße, zu Schanden Ägyptens.(D) Isa 20:4 ὅτι οὕτως ἄξει βασιλεὺς Ἀσσυρίων τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν Αἰγύπτου καὶ Αἰθιόπων νεανίσκους καὶ πρεσβύτας γυμνοὺς καὶ ἀνυποδέτους ἀνακεκαλυμμένους τὴν αἰσχύνην Αἰγύπτου(lxx) Isa 20:4 so shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians as prisoners and the Ethiopians as captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 20:5 ============ Isa 20:5 Then they will be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and Egypt their boast.(nasb) Isa 20:5 Et timebunt, et confundentur ab Æthiopia spe sua, et ab Ægypto gloria sua.(vulgate) Isaías 20:5 Y se turbarán y avergonzarán de Etiopía su esperanza, y de Egipto su gloria.(E) Ésaïe 20:5 Alors on sera dans l'effroi et dans la confusion, à cause de l'Ethiopie en qui l'on avait mis sa confiance, et de l'Egypte dont on se glorifiait.(F) Isa 20:5 Und sie werden erschrecken und mit Schanden bestehen über dem Mohrenland, darauf sie sich verließen, und über den Ägyptern, welcher sie sich rühmten.(D) Isa 20:5 καὶ αἰσχυνθήσονται ἡττηθέντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἐπὶ τοῖς Αἰθίοψιν ἐφ᾽ οἷς ἦσαν πεποιθότες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἦσαν γὰρ αὐτοῖς δόξα(lxx) Isa 20:5 Then they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and Egypt their glory.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 20:6 ============ Isa 20:6 So the inhabitants of this coastland will say in that day, 'Behold, such is our hope, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and we, how shall we escape?'"(nasb) Isa 20:6 Et dicet habitator insulæ hujus in die illa: Ecce hæc erat spes nostra, ad quos confugimus in auxilium, ut liberarent nos a facie regis Assyriorum: et quomodo effugere poterimus nos?](vulgate) Isaías 20:6 Y dirá en aquel día el morador de esta isla: ¡Mirad cuál [es] nuestra esperanza, a dónde acudimos por ayuda para ser libres de la presencia del rey de Asiria! ¿Y cómo escaparemos nosotros?(E) Ésaïe 20:6 Et les habitants de cette côte diront en ce jour: Voilà ce qu'est devenu l'objet de notre attente, sur lequel nous avions compté pour être secourus, pour être délivrés du roi d'Assyrie! Comment échapperons-nous?(F) Isa 20:6 Und die Einwohner dieser Küste werden sagen zu derselben Zeit: Ist das unsre Zuversicht, dahin wir flohen um Hilfe, daß wir errettet würden von dem König von Assyrien? Wie könnten denn wir entrinnen?(D) Isa 20:6 καὶ ἐροῦσιν οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ νήσῳ ταύτῃ ἰδοὺ ἡμεῖς ἦμεν πεποιθότες τοῦ φυγεῖν εἰς αὐτοὺς εἰς βοήθειαν οἳ οὐκ ἐδύναντο σωθῆναι ἀπὸ βασιλέως Ἀσσυρίων καὶ πῶς ἡμεῖς σωθησόμεθα(lxx) Isa 20:6 And the inhabitant of this territory will say in that day, 'Surely such is our expectation, wherever we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and how shall we escape?'
