Today's Date: ======= Amos 3:1 ============ Amo 3:1 Hear this word which the Lord has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the entire family which He brought up from the land of Egypt:(nasb) Amo 3:1 [Audite verbum quod locutus est Dominus super vos, filii Israël, super omnem cognationem quam eduxi de terra Ægypti, dicens:(vulgate) Amós 3:1 Oíd esta palabra que ha hablado Jehová contra vosotros, hijos de Israel, contra toda la familia que hice subir de la tierra de Egipto. Dice así:(E) Amos 3:1 Ecoutez cette parole que l'Eternel prononce contre vous, enfants d'Israël, Contre toute la famille que j'ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte!(F) Amo 3:1 Höret, was der HERR mit euch redet, ihr Kinder Israel, mit allen Geschlechtern, die ich aus Ägyptenland geführt habe:(D) Amo 3:1 ἀκούσατε τὸν λόγον τοῦτον ὃν ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ κατὰ πάσης φυλῆς ἧς ἀνήγαγον ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου λέγων(lxx) Amo 3:1 Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:2 ============ Amo 3:2 "You only have I chosen among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."(nasb) Amo 3:2 Tantummodo vos cognovi ex omnibus cognationibus terræ; idcirco visitabo super vos omnes iniquitates vestras.(vulgate) Amós 3:2 A vosotros solamente he conocido de todas las familias de la tierra; por tanto visitaré contra vosotros todas vuestras maldades.(E) Amos 3:2 Je vous ai choisis, vous seuls parmi toutes les familles de la terre; C'est pourquoi je vous châtierai pour toutes vos iniquités.(F) Amo 3:2 Aus allen Geschlechtern auf Erden habe ich allein euch erkannt; darum will ich auch euch heimsuchen in all eurer Missetat.(D) Amo 3:2 πλὴν ὑμᾶς ἔγνων ἐκ πασῶν φυλῶν τῆς γῆς διὰ τοῦτο ἐκδικήσω ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν(lxx) Amo 3:2 "You only have I known of all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:3 ============ Amo 3:3 Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?(nasb) Amo 3:3 Numquid ambulabunt duo pariter, nisi convenerit eis?(vulgate) Amós 3:3 ¿Andarán dos juntos, si no estuvieren de acuerdo?(E) Amos 3:3 Deux hommes marchent-ils ensemble, Sans en être convenus?(F) Amo 3:3 Mögen auch zwei miteinander wandeln, sie seien denn eins untereinander?(D) Amo 3:3 εἰ πορεύσονται δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καθόλου ἐὰν μὴ γνωρίσωσιν ἑαυτούς(lxx) Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:4 ============ Amo 3:4 Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?(nasb) Amo 3:4 numquid rugiet leo in saltu, nisi habuerit prædam? numquid dabit catulus leonis vocem de cubili suo, nisi aliquid apprehenderit?(vulgate) Amós 3:4 ¿Rugirá el león en la selva sin haber presa? ¿Dará el leoncillo su rugido desde su guarida, sin haber apresado algo?(E) Amos 3:4 Le lion rugit-il dans la forêt, Sans avoir une proie? Le lionceau pousse-t-il des cris du fond de sa tanière, Sans avoir fait une capture?(F) Amo 3:4 Brüllt auch ein Löwe im Walde, wenn er keinen Raub hat? Schreit auch ein junger Löwe aus seiner Höhle, er habe denn etwas gefangen?(D) Amo 3:4 εἰ ἐρεύξεται λέων ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ αὐτοῦ θήραν οὐκ ἔχων εἰ δώσει σκύμνος φωνὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας αὐτοῦ καθόλου ἐὰν μὴ ἁρπάσῃ τι(lxx) Amo 3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:5 ============ Amo 3:5 Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it? Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?(nasb) Amo 3:5 numquid cadet avis in laqueum terræ absque aucupe? numquid auferetur laqueus de terra antequam quid ceperit?(vulgate) Amós 3:5 ¿Caerá el ave en el lazo en la tierra, sin haber cazador? ¿Se alzará el lazo de la tierra, si no se ha atrapado nada?(E) Amos 3:5 L'oiseau tombe-t-il dans le filet qui est à terre, Sans qu'il y ait un piège? Le filet s'élève-t-il de terre, Sans qu'il y ait rien de pris?(F) Amo 3:5 Fällt auch ein Vogel in den Strick auf der Erde, da kein Vogler ist? Hebt man auch den Strick auf von der Erde, der noch nichts gefangen hat?(D) Amo 3:5 εἰ πεσεῖται ὄρνεον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἄνευ ἰξευτοῦ εἰ σχασθήσεται παγὶς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἄνευ τοῦ συλλαβεῖν τι(lxx) Amo 3:5 Will a bird fall into a snare on the earth, where there is no trap for it? Will a snare spring up from the earth, if it has caught nothing at all?(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:6 ============ Amo 3:6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it?(nasb) Amo 3:6 si clanget tuba in civitate, et populus non expavescet? si erit malum in civitate, quod Dominus non fecerit?(vulgate) Amós 3:6 ¿Se tocará la trompeta en la ciudad, y no se alborotará el pueblo? ¿Habrá algún mal en la ciudad, el cual Jehová no haya hecho?(E) Amos 3:6 Sonne-t-on de la trompette dans une ville, Sans que le peuple soit dans l'épouvante? Arrive-t-il un malheur dans une ville, Sans que l'Eternel en soit l'auteur?(F) Amo 3:6 Bläst man auch die Posaune in einer Stadt, daß sich das Volk davor nicht entsetze? Ist auch ein Unglück in der Stadt, daß der HERR nicht tue?(D) Amo 3:6 εἰ φωνήσει σάλπιγξ ἐν πόλει καὶ λαὸς οὐ πτοηθήσεται εἰ ἔσται κακία ἐν πόλει ἣν κύριος οὐκ ἐποίησεν(lxx) Amo 3:6 If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:7 ============ Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.(nasb) Amo 3:7 Quia non facit Dominus Deus verbum, nisi revelaverit secretum suum ad servos suos prophetas.(vulgate) Amós 3:7 Porque no hará nada el Señor Jehová, sin que revele su secreto a sus siervos los profetas.(E) Amos 3:7 Car le Seigneur, l'Eternel, ne fait rien Sans avoir révélé son secret à ses serviteurs les prophètes.(F) Amo 3:7 Denn der HERR HERR tut nichts, er offenbare denn sein Geheimnis den Propheten, seinen Knechten.(D) Amo 3:7 διότι οὐ μὴ ποιήσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς πρᾶγμα ἐὰν μὴ ἀποκαλύψῃ παιδείαν αὐτοῦ πρὸς τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ τοὺς προφήτας(lxx) Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:8 ============ Amo 3:8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?(nasb) Amo 3:8 Leo rugiet, quis non timebit? Dominus Deus locutus est, quis non prophetabit?(vulgate) Amós 3:8 Rugiendo el león, ¿quién no temerá? Hablando Jehová el Señor, ¿quién no profetizará?(E) Amos 3:8 Le lion rugit: qui ne serait effrayé? Le Seigneur, l'Eternel, parle: qui ne prophétiserait?(F) Amo 3:8 Der Löwe brüllt; wer sollte sich nicht fürchten? Der HERR HERR redet; wer sollte nicht weissagen?(D) Amo 3:8 λέων ἐρεύξεται καὶ τίς οὐ φοβηθήσεται κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἐλάλησεν καὶ τίς οὐ προφητεύσει(lxx) Amo 3:8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:9 ============ Amo 3:9 Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt and say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumults within her and the oppressions in her midst.(nasb) Amo 3:9 Auditum facite in ædibus Azoti, et in ædibus terræ Ægypti, et dicite: Congregamini super montes Samariæ, et videte insanias multas in medio ejus, et calumniam patientes in penetralibus ejus.(vulgate) Amós 3:9 Haced pregonar sobre los palacios de Asdod, y sobre los palacios de tierra de Egipto, y decid: Reuníos sobre los montes de Samaria, y ved muchas opresiones en medio de ella, y violencias en medio de ella.(E) Amos 3:9 Faites retentir votre voix dans les palais d'Asdod Et dans les palais du pays d'Egypte, Et dites: Rassemblez-vous sur les montagnes de Samarie, Et voyez quelle immense confusion au milieu d'elle, Quelles violences dans son sein!(F) Amo 3:9 Verkündigt in den Palästen zu Asdod und in den Palästen im Lande Ägypten und sprecht: Sammelt euch auf die Berge Samarias und sehet, welch ein großes Zetergeschrei und Unrecht darin ist!(D) Amo 3:9 ἀπαγγείλατε χώραις ἐν Ἀσσυρίοις καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς χώρας τῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἴπατε συνάχθητε ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σαμαρείας καὶ ἴδετε θαυμαστὰ πολλὰ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς καὶ τὴν καταδυναστείαν τὴν ἐν αὐτῇ(lxx) Amo 3:9 "Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, And in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say: 'Assemble on the mountains of Samaria; See great tumults in her midst, And the oppressed within her.(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:10 ============ Amo 3:10 But they do not know how to do what is right," declares the Lord, "these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels."(nasb) Amo 3:10 Et nescierunt facere rectum, dicit Dominus, thesaurizantes iniquitatem et rapinas in ædibus suis.(vulgate) Amós 3:10 Y no saben hacer lo recto, dice Jehová, atesorando rapiñas y despojos en sus palacios.(E) Amos 3:10 Ils ne savent pas agir avec droiture, dit l'Eternel, Ils entassent dans leurs palais les produits de la violence et de la rapine.(F) Amo 3:10 Sie achten keines Rechts, spricht der HERR, sammeln Schätze von Frevel und Raub in ihren Palästen.(D) Amo 3:10 καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω ἃ ἔσται ἐναντίον αὐτῆς λέγει κύριος οἱ θησαυρίζοντες ἀδικίαν καὶ ταλαιπωρίαν ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν(lxx) Amo 3:10 For they do not know to do right,' Says the Lord, 'Who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.' "(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:11 ============ Amo 3:11 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, "An enemy, even one surrounding the land, Will pull down your strength from you And your citadels will be looted."(nasb) Amo 3:11 Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Tribulabitur et circuietur terra: et detrahetur ex te fortitudo tua, et diripientur ædes tuæ.(vulgate) Amós 3:11 Por tanto, así dice Jehová el Señor: Un enemigo [vendrá] aún por todos lados de la tierra, y derribará de ti tu fortaleza, y tus palacios serán saqueados.(E) Amos 3:11 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: L'ennemi investira le pays, Il détruira ta force, Et tes palais seront pillés.(F) Amo 3:11 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also: man wird dies Land ringsumher bedrängen und dich von deiner Macht herunterreißen und deine Häuser plündern.(D) Amo 3:11 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός Τύρος κυκλόθεν ἡ γῆ σου ἐρημωθήσεται καὶ κατάξει ἐκ σοῦ ἰσχύν σου καὶ διαρπαγήσονται αἱ χῶραί σου(lxx) Amo 3:11 Therefore thus says the Lord God: "An adversary shall be all around the land; He shall sap your strength from you, And your palaces shall be plundered."(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:12 ============ Amo 3:12 Thus says the Lord, "Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion's mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, So will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away-- With the corner of a bed and the cover of a couch!(nasb) Amo 3:12 Hæc dicit Dominus: Quomodo si eruat pastor de ore leonis duo crura, aut extremum auriculæ, sic eruentur filii Israël, qui habitant in Samaria in plaga lectuli, et in Damasci grabato.(vulgate) Amós 3:12 Así dice Jehová: De la manera que el pastor libra de la boca del león dos piernas, o la punta de una oreja, así escaparán los hijos de Israel que moran en Samaria en el rincón de una cama, y al lado de un lecho.(E) Amos 3:12 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Comme le berger arrache de la gueule du lion Deux jambes ou un bout d'oreille, Ainsi se sauveront les enfants d'Israël qui sont assis dans Samarie A l'angle d'un lit et sur des tapis de damas.(F) Amo 3:12 So spricht der HERR: Gleichwie ein Hirte dem Löwen zwei Kniee oder ein Ohrläpplein aus dem Maul reißt, also sollen die Kinder Israel herausgerissen werden, die zu Samaria sitzen in der Ecke des Ruhebettes und auf dem Lager von Damast.(D) Amo 3:12 τάδε λέγει κύριος ὃν τρόπον ὅταν ἐκσπάσῃ ὁ ποιμὴν ἐκ στόματος τοῦ λέοντος δύο σκέλη ἢ λοβὸν ὠτίου οὕτως ἐκσπασθήσονται οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ κατέναντι φυλῆς καὶ ἐν Δαμασκῷ ἱερεῖς(lxx) Amo 3:12 Thus says the Lord: "As a shepherd takes from the mouth of a lion Two legs or a piece of an ear, So shall the children of Israel be taken out Who dwell in Samaria-- In the corner of a bed and on the edge of a couch!(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:13 ============ Amo 3:13 "Hear and testify against the house of Jacob," Declares the Lord God, the God of hosts.(nasb) Amo 3:13 Audite, et contestamini in domo Jacob, dicit Dominus Deus exercituum;(vulgate) Amós 3:13 Oíd y testificad en la casa de Jacob, dice el Señor Jehová, el Dios de los ejércitos:(E) Amos 3:13 Ecoutez, et déclarez ceci à la maison de Jacob! Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel, le Dieu des armées.(F) Amo 3:13 Höret und zeuget im Hause Jakob, spricht der HERR HERR, der Gott Zebaoth.(D) Amo 3:13 ἀκούσατε καὶ ἐπιμαρτύρασθε τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ(lxx) Amo 3:13 Hear and testify against the house of Jacob," Says the Lord God, the God of hosts,(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:14 ============ Amo 3:14 "For on the day that I punish Israel's transgressions, I will also punish the altars of Bethel; The horns of the altar will be cut off And they will fall to the ground.(nasb) Amo 3:14 quia in die cum visitare cœpero prævaricationes Israël, super eum visitabo, et super altaria Bethel; et amputabuntur cornua altaris, et cadent in terram.(vulgate) Amós 3:14 Que el día que visite las rebeliones de Israel sobre él, visitaré también sobre los altares de Betel; y serán cortados los cuernos del altar, y caerán a tierra.(E) Amos 3:14 Le jour où je punirai Israël pour ses transgressions, Je frapperai sur les autels de Béthel; Les cornes de l'autel seront brisées, Et tomberont à terre.(F) Amo 3:14 Denn zu der Zeit, wann ich die Sünden Israels heimsuchen werde, will ich die Altäre zu Beth-El heimsuchen und die Hörner des Altars abbrechen, daß sie zu Boden fallen sollen,(D) Amo 3:14 διότι ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὅταν ἐκδικῶ ἀσεβείας τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν καὶ ἐκδικήσω ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια Βαιθηλ καὶ κατασκαφήσεται τὰ κέρατα τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν(lxx) Amo 3:14 "That in the day I punish Israel for their transgressions, I will also visit destruction on the altars of Bethel; And the horns of the altar shall be cut off And fall to the ground.(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:15 ============ Amo 3:15 "I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house; The houses of ivory will also perish And the great houses will come to an end," Declares the Lord.(nasb) Amo 3:15 Et percutiam domum hiemalem cum domo æstiva, et peribunt domus eburneæ, et dissipabuntur ædes multæ, dicit Dominus.](vulgate) Amós 3:15 Y heriré la casa de invierno con la casa de verano, y las casas de marfil perecerán; y las grandes casas serán destruidas, dice Jehová.(E) Amos 3:15 Je renverserai les maisons d'hiver et les maisons d'été; Les palais d'ivoire périront, Les maisons des grands disparaîtront, dit l'Eternel.(F) Amo 3:15 und will beide, Winterhaus und Sommerhaus, schlagen, und die elfenbeinernen Häuser sollen untergehen und viele Häuser verderbt werden, spricht der HERR.(D) Amo 3:15 συγχεῶ καὶ πατάξω τὸν οἶκον τὸν περίπτερον ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν θερινόν καὶ ἀπολοῦνται οἶκοι ἐλεφάντινοι καὶ προστεθήσονται οἶκοι ἕτεροι πολλοί λέγει κύριος(lxx) Amo 3:15 I will destroy the winter house along with the summer house; The houses of ivory shall perish, And the great houses shall have an end," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Amos 4:1 ============ top of the page
