Today's Date: ======= Deuteronomy 2:1 ============ Deu 2:1 "Then we turned and set out for the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea, as the Lord spoke to me, and circled Mount Seir for many days.(nas) Deu 2:1 καὶ ἐπιστραφέντες ἀπήραμεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ὁδὸν θάλασσαν ἐρυθράν ὃν τρόπον ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρός με καὶ ἐκυκλώσαμεν τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σηιρ ἡμέρας πολλάς (lxx) Deu 2:1 Profectique inde, venimus in solitudinem, quæ ducit ad mare Rubrum, sicut mihi dixerat Dominus: et circuivimus montem Seir longo tempore.(vulgate) 1 ׃2 וַנֵּ֜פֶן וַנִּסַּ֤ע הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יַם־ס֔וּף כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י וַנָּ֥סָב אֶת־הַר־שֵׂעִ֖יר יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 2:1 Da wandten wir uns und zogen aus zur Wüste auf der Straße zum Schilfmeer, wie der HERR zu mir sagte, und umzogen das Gebirge Seir eine lange Zeit.(dhs) Deu 2:1 "Then we turned and journeyed into the wilderness of the Way of the Red Sea, as the Lord spoke to me, and we skirted Mount Seir for many days.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:2 ============ Deu 2:2 And the Lord spoke to me, saying,(nas) Deu 2:2 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με (lxx) Deu 2:2 Dixitque Dominus ad me:(vulgate) 2 ׃2 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:2 Und der HERR sprach zu mir:(dhs) Deu 2:2 And the Lord spoke to me, saying:(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:3 ============ Deu 2:3 'You have circled this mountain long enough. Now turn north,(nas) Deu 2:3 ἱκανούσθω ὑμῖν κυκλοῦν τὸ ὄρος τοῦτο ἐπιστράφητε οὖν ἐπὶ βορρᾶν (lxx) Deu 2:3 Sufficit vobis circuire montem istum: ite contra aquilonem:(vulgate) 3 ׃2 רַב־לָכֶ֕ם סֹ֖ב אֶת־הָהָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה פְּנ֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם צָפֹֽנָה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:3 Ihr habt dies Gebirge nun genug umzogen; wendet euch gegen Mitternacht.(dhs) Deu 2:3 'You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:4 ============ Deu 2:4 and command the people, saying, "You will pass through the territory of your brothers the sons of Esau who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. So be very careful;(nas) Deu 2:4 καὶ τῷ λαῷ ἔντειλαι λέγων ὑμεῖς παραπορεύεσθε διὰ τῶν ὁρίων τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν υἱῶν Ησαυ οἳ κατοικοῦσιν ἐν Σηιρ καὶ φοβηθήσονται ὑμᾶς καὶ εὐλαβηθήσονται ὑμᾶς σφόδρα (lxx) Deu 2:4 et populo præcipe, dicens: Transibitis per terminos fratrum vestrorum filiorum Esau, qui habitant in Seir, et timebunt vos.(vulgate) 4 ׃2 וְאֶת־הָעָם֮ צַ֣ו לֵאמֹר֒ אַתֶּ֣ם עֹֽבְרִ֗ים בִּגְבוּל֙ אֲחֵיכֶ֣ם בְּנֵי־עֵשָׂ֔ו הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים בְּשֵׂעִ֑יר וְיִֽירְא֣וּ מִכֶּ֔ם וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם מְאֹֽד׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:4 Und gebiete dem Volk und sprich: ihr werdet durch das Land eurer Brüder, der Kinder Esau, ziehen, die zu Seir wohnen; und sie werden sich vor euch fürchten. Aber verwahrt euch mit Fleiß,(dhs) Deu 2:4 And command the people, saying, "You are about to pass through the territory of your brethren, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. Therefore watch yourselves carefully.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:5 ============ Deu 2:5 do not provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land, even as little as a footstep because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.(nas) Deu 2:5 μὴ συνάψητε πρὸς αὐτοὺς πόλεμον οὐ γὰρ μὴ δῶ ὑμῖν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν οὐδὲ βῆμα ποδός ὅτι ἐν κλήρῳ δέδωκα τοῖς υἱοῖς Ησαυ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σηιρ (lxx) Deu 2:5 Videte ergo diligenter ne moveamini contra eos. Neque enim dabo vobis de terra eorum quantum potest unius pedis calcare vestigium, quia in possessionem Esau dedi montem Seir.(vulgate) 5 ׃2 אַל־תִּתְגָּר֣וּ בָ֔ם כִּ֠י לֹֽא־אֶתֵּ֤ן לָכֶם֙ מֵֽאַרְצָ֔ם עַ֖ד מִדְרַ֣ךְ כַּף־רָ֑גֶל כִּֽי־יְרֻשָּׁ֣ה לְעֵשָׂ֔ו נָתַ֖תִּי אֶת־הַ֥ר שֵׂעִֽיר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:5 daß ihr sie nicht bekrieget; denn ich werde euch ihres Landes nicht einen Fußbreit geben; denn das Gebirge Seir habe ich den Kindern Esau zu besitzen gegeben.(dhs) Deu 2:5 Do not meddle with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as one footstep, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:6 ============ Deu 2:6 You shall buy food from them with money so that you may eat, and you shall also purchase water from them with money so that you may drink.(nas) Deu 2:6 βρώματα ἀργυρίου ἀγοράσατε παρ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ φάγεσθε καὶ ὕδωρ μέτρῳ λήμψεσθε παρ᾽ αὐτῶν ἀργυρίου καὶ πίεσθε (lxx) Deu 2:6 Cibos emetis ab eis pecunia, et comedetis: aquam emptam haurietis, et bibetis.(vulgate) 6 ׃2 אֹ֣כֶל תִּשְׁבְּר֧וּ מֵֽאִתָּ֛ם בַּכֶּ֖סֶף וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֑ם וְגַם־מַ֜יִם תִּכְר֧וּ מֵאִתָּ֛ם בַּכֶּ֖סֶף וּשְׁתִיתֶֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:6 Speise sollt ihr um Geld von ihnen kaufen, daß ihr esset, und Wasser sollt ihr um Geld von ihnen kaufen, daß ihr trinket.(dhs) Deu 2:6 You shall buy food from them with money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water from them with money, that you may drink.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:7 ============ Deu 2:7 For the Lord your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing."'(nas) Deu 2:7 ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν εὐλόγησέν σε ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ τῶν χειρῶν σου διάγνωθι πῶς διῆλθες τὴν ἔρημον τὴν μεγάλην καὶ τὴν φοβερὰν ἐκείνην ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη κύριος ὁ θεός σου μετὰ σοῦ οὐκ ἐπεδεήθης ῥήματος (lxx) Deu 2:7 Dominus Deus tuus benedixit tibi in omni opere manuum tuarum: novit iter tuum, quomodo transieris solitudinem hanc magnam, per quadraginta annos habitans tecum Dominus Deus tuus, et nihil tibi defuit.(vulgate) 7 ׃2 כִּי֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ בֵּֽרַכְךָ֗ בְּכֹל֙ מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדֶ֔ךָ יָדַ֣ע לֶכְתְּךָ֔ אֶת־הַמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַגָּדֹ֖ל הַזֶּ֑ה זֶ֣ה ׀ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֗ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א חָסַ֖רְתָּ דָּבָֽר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:7 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, hat dich gesegnet in allen Werken deiner Hände. Er hat dein Reisen durch diese große Wüste zu Herzen genommen, und vierzig Jahre ist der HERR, dein Gott, bei dir gewesen, daß dir nichts gemangelt hat.(dhs) Deu 2:7 For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing." '(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:8 ============ Deu 2:8 "So we passed beyond our brothers the sons of Esau, who live in Seir, away from the Arabah road, away from Elath and from Ezion-geber. And we turned and passed through by the way of the wilderness of Moab.(nas) Deu 2:8 καὶ παρήλθομεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμῶν υἱοὺς Ησαυ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Σηιρ παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τὴν Αραβα ἀπὸ Αιλων καὶ ἀπὸ Γασιωνγαβερ καὶ ἐπιστρέψαντες παρήλθομεν ὁδὸν ἔρημον Μωαβ (lxx) Deu 2:8 Cumque transissemus fratres nostros filios Esau, qui habitabant in Seir, per viam campestrem de Elath, et de Asiongaber, venimus ad iter quod ducit in desertum Moab.~(vulgate) 8 ׃2 וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֞ר מֵאֵ֧ת אַחֵ֣ינוּ בְנֵי־עֵשָׂ֗ו הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּשֵׂעִ֔יר מִדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ הָֽעֲרָבָ֔ה מֵאֵילַ֖ת וּמֵעֶצְיֹ֣ן גָּ֑בֶר ס וַנֵּ֙פֶן֙ וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֔ר דֶּ֖רֶךְ מִדְבַּ֥ר מוֹאָֽב׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:8 Da wir nun vor unsern Brüdern, den Kindern Esau, weitergezogen waren, die auf dem Gebirge Seir wohnten, auf dem Wege des Gefildes von Elath und Ezeon-Geber, wandten wir uns und gingen durch den Weg der Wüste der Moabiter.(dhs) Deu 2:8 "And when we passed beyond our brethren, the descendants of Esau who dwell in Seir, away from the road of the plain, away from Elath and Ezion Geber, we turned and passed by way of the Wilderness of Moab.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:9 ============ Deu 2:9 Then the Lord said to me, 'Do not harass Moab, nor provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land as a possession, because I have given Ar to the sons of Lot as a possession.'(nas) Deu 2:9 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με μὴ ἐχθραίνετε τοῖς Μωαβίταις καὶ μὴ συνάψητε πρὸς αὐτοὺς πόλεμον οὐ γὰρ μὴ δῶ ὑμῖν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἐν κλήρῳ τοῖς γὰρ υἱοῖς Λωτ δέδωκα τὴν Σηιρ κληρονομεῖν (lxx) Deu 2:9 Dixitque Dominus ad me: Non pugnes contra Moabitas, nec ineas adversus eos prælium: non enim dabo tibi quidquam de terra eorum, quia filiis Loth tradidi Ar in possessionem.(vulgate) 9 ׃2 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י אֶל־תָּ֙צַר֙ אֶת־מוֹאָ֔ב וְאַל־תִּתְגָּ֥ר בָּ֖ם מִלְחָמָ֑ה כִּ֠י לֹֽא־אֶתֵּ֨ן לְךָ֤ מֵֽאַרְצוֹ֙ יְרֻשָּׁ֔ה כִּ֣י לִבְנֵי־ל֔וֹט נָתַ֥תִּי אֶת־עָ֖ר יְרֻשָּֽׁה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:9 Da sprach der HERR zu mir: Du sollst den Moabitern nicht Schaden tun noch sie bekriegen; denn ich will dir ihres Landes nichts zu besitzen geben; denn ich habe Ar den Kindern Lot zu besitzen gegeben.(dhs) Deu 2:9 Then the Lord said to me, 'Do not harass Moab, nor contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land as a possession, because I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.' "(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:10 ============ Deu 2:10 (The Emim lived there formerly, a people as great, numerous, and tall as the Anakim.(nas) Deu 2:10 οἱ Ομμιν πρότεροι ἐνεκάθηντο ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ πολὺ καὶ ἰσχύοντες ὥσπερ οἱ Ενακιμ (lxx) Deu 2:10 Emim primi fuerunt habitatores ejus, populus magnus, et validus, et tam excelsus ut de Enacim stirpe,(vulgate) 10 ׃2 הָאֵמִ֥ים לְפָנִ֖ים יָ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֑הּ עַ֣ם גָּד֥וֹל וְרַ֛ב וָרָ֖ם כָּעֲנָקִֽים׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:10 (Die Emiter haben vorzeiten darin gewohnt; das war ein großes, starkes und hohes Volk wie die Enakiter.(dhs) Deu 2:10 (The Emim had dwelt there in times past, a people as great and numerous and tall as the Anakim.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:11 ============ Deu 2:11 Like the Anakim, they are also regarded as Rephaim, but the Moabites call them Emim.(nas) Deu 2:11 Ραφαϊν λογισθήσονται καὶ οὗτοι ὥσπερ οἱ Ενακιμ καὶ οἱ Μωαβῖται ἐπονομάζουσιν αὐτοὺς Ομμιν (lxx) Deu 2:11 quasi gigantes crederentur, et essent similes filiorum Enacim. Denique Moabitæ appellant eos Emim.(vulgate) 11 ׃2 רְפָאִ֛ים יֵחָשְׁב֥וּ אַף־הֵ֖ם כָּעֲנָקִ֑ים וְהַמֹּ֣אָבִ֔ים יִקְרְא֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם אֵמִֽים׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:11 Man hielt sie auch für Riesen gleich wie die Enakiter; und die Moabiter heißen sie Emiter.(dhs) Deu 2:11 They were also regarded as giants, like the Anakim, but the Moabites call them Emim.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:12 ============ Deu 2:12 The Horites formerly lived in Seir, but the sons of Esau dispossessed them and destroyed them from before them and settled in their place, just as Israel did to the land of their possession which the Lord gave to them.)(nas) Deu 2:12 καὶ ἐν Σηιρ ἐνεκάθητο ὁ Χορραῖος πρότερον καὶ υἱοὶ Ησαυ ἀπώλεσαν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐξέτριψαν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ κατῳκίσθησαν ἀντ᾽ αὐτῶν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησεν Ισραηλ τὴν γῆν τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ ἣν δέδωκεν κύριος αὐτοῖς (lxx) Deu 2:12 In Seir autem prius habitaverunt Horrhæi: quibus expulsis atque deletis, habitaverunt filii Esau, sicut fecit Israël in terra possessionis suæ, quam dedit illi Dominus.(vulgate) 12 ׃2 וּבְשֵׂעִ֞יר יָשְׁב֣וּ הַחֹרִים֮ לְפָנִים֒ וּבְנֵ֧י עֵשָׂ֣ו יִֽירָשׁ֗וּם וַיַּשְׁמִידוּם֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ תַּחְתָּ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר עָשָׂ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לְאֶ֙רֶץ֙ יְרֻשָּׁת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה לָהֶֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:12 Auch wohnten vorzeiten in Seir die Horiter; und die Kinder Esau vertrieben und vertilgten sie vor sich her und wohnten an ihrer Statt, gleich wie Israel dem Lande seiner Besitzung tat, das ihnen der HERR gab.)(dhs) Deu 2:12 The Horites formerly dwelt in Seir, but the descendants of Esau dispossessed them and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their place, just as Israel did to the land of their possession which the Lord gave them.)(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 2:13 ============ Deu 2:13 'Now arise and cross over the brook Zered yourselves.' So we crossed over the brook Zered.(nas) Deu 2:13 νῦν οὖν ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀπάρατε ὑμεῖς καὶ παραπορεύεσθε τὴν φάραγγα Ζαρετ καὶ παρήλθομεν τὴν φάραγγα Ζαρετ (lxx) Deu 2:13 Surgentes ergo ut transiremus torrentem Zared, venimus ad eum.(vulgate) 13 ׃2 עַתָּ֗ה קֻ֛מוּ וְעִבְר֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־נַ֣חַל זָ֑רֶד וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־נַ֥חַל זָֽרֶד׃ Deuteronomy Deu 2:13 So macht euch nun auf und ziehet durch den Bach Sered! und wir zogen hindurch.(dhs) Deu 2:13 " 'Now rise and cross over the Valley of the Zered.'
