Today's Date: ======= Deuteronomy 5:1 ============ Deu 5:1 Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I am speaking today in your hearing, that you may learn them and observe them carefully.(nas) Deu 5:1 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Μωυσῆς πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἄκουε Ισραηλ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐγὼ λαλῶ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ καὶ μαθήσεσθε αὐτὰ καὶ φυλάξεσθε ποιεῖν αὐτά (lxx) Deu 5:1 Vocavitque Moyses omnem Israëlem, et dixit ad eum: Audi, Israël, cæremonias atque judicia, quæ ego loquor in auribus vestris hodie: discite ea, et opere complete.(vulgate) 1 ׃5 וַיִּקְרָ֣א מֹשֶׁה֮ אֶל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם שְׁמַ֤ע יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת־הַחֻקִּ֣ים וְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י דֹּבֵ֥ר בְּאָזְנֵיכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם וּלְמַדְתֶּ֣ם אֹתָ֔ם וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם לַעֲשֹׂתָֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:1 Und Mose rief das ganze Israel und sprach zu ihnen: Höre, Israel, die Gebote und Rechte, die ich heute vor euren Ohren rede, und lernt sie und behaltet sie, daß ihr darnach tut!(dhs) Deu 5:1 And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:2 ============ Deu 5:2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb.(nas) Deu 5:2 κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν διέθετο πρὸς ὑμᾶς διαθήκην ἐν Χωρηβ (lxx) Deu 5:2 Dominus Deus noster pepigit nobiscum fœdus in Horeb.(vulgate) 2 ׃5 יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ כָּרַ֥ת עִמָּ֛נוּ בְּרִ֖ית בְּחֹרֵֽב׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:2 Der HERR, unser Gott, hat einen Bund mit uns gemacht am Horeb(dhs) Deu 5:2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:3 ============ Deu 5:3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today.(nas) Deu 5:3 οὐχὶ τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν διέθετο κύριος τὴν διαθήκην ταύτην ἀλλ᾽ ἢ πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὑμεῖς ὧδε πάντες ζῶντες σήμερον (lxx) Deu 5:3 Non cum patribus nostris iniit pactum, sed nobiscum qui in præsentiarum sumus, et vivimus.(vulgate) 3 ׃5 לֹ֣א אֶת־אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ כָּרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את כִּ֣י אִתָּ֔נוּ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ אֵ֥לֶּה פֹ֛ה הַיּ֖וֹם כֻּלָּ֥נוּ חַיִּֽים׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:3 und hat nicht mit unsern Vätern diesen Bund gemacht, sondern mit uns, die wir hier sind heutigestages und alle leben.(dhs) Deu 5:3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:4 ============ Deu 5:4 The Lord spoke to you face to face at the mountain from the midst of the fire,(nas) Deu 5:4 πρόσωπον κατὰ πρόσωπον ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός (lxx) Deu 5:4 Facie ad faciem locutus est nobis in monte de medio ignis.(vulgate) 4 ׃5 פָּנִ֣ים ׀ בְּפָנִ֗ים דִּבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה עִמָּכֶ֛ם בָּהָ֖ר מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:4 Er hat von Angesicht zu Angesicht mit euch aus dem Feuer auf dem Berge geredet.(dhs) Deu 5:4 The Lord talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:5 ============ Deu 5:5 while I was standing between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord; for you were afraid because of the fire and did not go up the mountain. He said,(nas) Deu 5:5 κἀγὼ εἱστήκειν ἀνὰ μέσον κυρίου καὶ ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀναγγεῖλαι ὑμῖν τὰ ῥήματα κυρίου ὅτι ἐφοβήθητε ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ οὐκ ἀνέβητε εἰς τὸ ὄρος λέγων (lxx) Deu 5:5 Ego sequester et medius fui inter Dominum et vos in tempore illo, ut annuntiarem vobis verba ejus: timuistis enim ignem, et non ascendistis in montem. Et ait:(vulgate) 5 ׃5 אָ֠נֹכִי עֹמֵ֨ד בֵּין־יְהוָ֤ה וּבֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא לְהַגִּ֥יד לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י יְרֵאתֶם֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָאֵ֔שׁ וְלֹֽא־עֲלִיתֶ֥ם בָּהָ֖ר לֵאמֹֽר׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 5:5 Ich stand zu derselben Zeit zwischen dem HERRN und euch, daß ich euch ansagte des HERRN Wort; denn ihr fürchtetet euch vor dem Feuer und ginget nicht auf den Berg. He said:(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:6 ============ Deu 5:6 'I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.(nas) Deu 5:6 ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὁ ἐξαγαγών σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας (lxx) Deu 5:6 Ego Dominus Deus tuus, qui eduxi te de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis.(vulgate) 6 ׃5 אָֽנֹכִי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הוֹצֵאתִ֛יךָ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֣֥ית עֲבָדִ֑͏ֽים׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:6 Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der dich aus Ägyptenland geführt hat, aus dem Diensthause.(dhs) Deu 5:6 'I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:7 ============ Deu 5:7 'You shall have no other gods before Me.(nas) Deu 5:7 οὐκ ἔσονταί σοι θεοὶ ἕτεροι πρὸ προσώπου μου (lxx) Deu 5:7 Non habebis deos alienos in conspectu meo.(vulgate) 7 ׃5 לֹ֣א יִהְיֶ֥ה־לְךָ֛֩ אֱלֹהִ֥֨ים אֲחֵרִ֖֜ים עַל־פָּנָֽ͏ַ֗י Deuteronomy Deu 5:7 Du sollst keine andern Götter haben vor mir.(dhs) Deu 5:7 'You shall have no other gods before Me.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:8 ============ Deu 5:8 'You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.(nas) Deu 5:8 οὐ ποιήσεις σεαυτῷ εἴδωλον οὐδὲ παντὸς ὁμοίωμα ὅσα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἄνω καὶ ὅσα ἐν τῇ γῇ κάτω καὶ ὅσα ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν ὑποκάτω τῆς γῆς (lxx) Deu 5:8 Non facies tibi sculptile, nec similitudinem omnium, quæ in cælo sunt desuper, et quæ in terra deorsum, et quæ versantur in aquis sub terra.(vulgate) 8 ׃5 לֹֽ֣א־תַעֲשֶֽׂ֙[t]ה־לְךָ֥֣ פֶ֣֙סֶל֙ ׀ כָּל־תְּמוּנָ֔֡ה אֲשֶׁ֤֣ר בַּשָּׁמַ֣֙יִם֙ ׀ מִמַּ֔֡עַל וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר֩ בָּאָ֖֨רֶץ מִתָּ֑֜חַת וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּמַּ֖֣יִם ׀ מִתַּ֥֣חַת לָאָֽ֗רֶץ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:8 Du sollst dir kein Bildnis machen, keinerlei Gleichnis, weder des, das oben im Himmel, noch des, das unten auf Erden, noch des, das im Wasser unter der Erde ist.(dhs) Deu 5:8 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:9 ============ Deu 5:9 You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,(nas) Deu 5:9 οὐ προσκυνήσεις αὐτοῖς οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεός σου θεὸς ζηλωτὴς ἀποδιδοὺς ἁμαρτίας πατέρων ἐπὶ τέκνα ἐπὶ τρίτην καὶ τετάρτην γενεὰν τοῖς μισοῦσίν με (lxx) Deu 5:9 Non adorabis ea, et non coles. Ego enim sum Dominus Deus tuus: Deus æmulator, reddens iniquitatem patrum super filios in tertiam et quartam generationem his qui oderunt me:(vulgate) 9 ׃5 לֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥֣ה לָהֶ֖ם֮ וְלֹ֣א תָעָבְדֵ֑ם֒ כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֞י יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֵ֣ל קַנָּ֔א פֹּ֠קֵד עֲוֺ֨ן אָב֧וֹת עַל־בָּנִ֛ים וְעַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁ֥ים וְעַל־רִבֵּעִ֖ים לְשֹׂנְאָֽ֑י׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:9 Du sollst sie nicht anbeten noch ihnen dienen. Denn ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, bin ein eifriger Gott, der die Missetat der Väter heimsucht über die Kinder ins dritte und vierte Glied, die mich hassen;(dhs) Deu 5:9 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:10 ============ Deu 5:10 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.(nas) Deu 5:10 καὶ ποιῶν ἔλεος εἰς χιλιάδας τοῖς ἀγαπῶσίν με καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰ προστάγματά μου (lxx) Deu 5:10 et faciens misericordiam in multa millia diligentibus me, et custodientibus præcepta mea.(vulgate) 10 ׃5 וְעֹ֥֤שֶׂה חֶ֖֙סֶד֙ לֽ͏ַאֲלָפִ֑֔ים לְאֹהֲבַ֖י וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י *מצותו **מִצְוֺתָֽי׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 5:10 und Barmherzigkeit erzeige in viel tausend, die mich lieben und meine Gebote halten.(dhs) Deu 5:10 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:11 ============ Deu 5:11 'You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.(nas) Deu 5:11 οὐ λήμψῃ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἐπὶ ματαίῳ οὐ γὰρ μὴ καθαρίσῃ κύριος τὸν λαμβάνοντα τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ ματαίῳ (lxx) Deu 5:11 Non usurpabis nomen Domini Dei tui frustra: quia non erit impunitus qui super re vana nomen ejus assumpserit.(vulgate) 11 ׃5 לֹ֥א תִשָּׂ֛א אֶת־שֵֽׁם־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לַשָּׁ֑וְא כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יְנַקֶּה֙ יְהוָ֔ה אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־יִשָּׂ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ לַשָּֽׁוְא׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 5:11 Du sollst den Namen des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht mißbrauchen; denn der HERR wird den nicht ungestraft lassen, der seinen Namen mißbraucht.(dhs) Deu 5:11 'You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:12 ============ Deu 5:12 'Observe the sabbath day to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.(nas) Deu 5:12 φύλαξαι τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων ἁγιάζειν αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου (lxx) Deu 5:12 Observa diem sabbati, ut sanctifices eum, sicut præcepit tibi Dominus Deus tuus.(vulgate) 12 ׃5 שָׁמ֛֣וֹר אֶת־י֥וֹם֩ הַשַׁבָּ֖֨ת לְקַדְּשׁ֑֜וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוְּךָ֖֣ ׀ יְהוָ֥֣ה אֱלֹהֶֽ֗יךָ Deuteronomy Deu 5:12 Den Sabbattag sollst du halten, daß du ihn heiligest, wie dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat.(dhs) Deu 5:12 'Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:13 ============ Deu 5:13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,(nas) Deu 5:13 ἓξ ἡμέρας ἐργᾷ καὶ ποιήσεις πάντα τὰ ἔργα σου (lxx) Deu 5:13 Sex diebus operaberis, et facies omnia opera tua.(vulgate) 13 ׃5 שֵׁ֣֤[c]שֶׁת יָמִ֣ים[t] תּֽ͏ַעֲבֹ֔ד֮ וְעָשִׂ֖֣יתָ כָּֿל־מְלַאכְתֶּֽךָ֒׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:13 Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und alle deine Werke tun.(dhs) Deu 5:13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:14 ============ Deu 5:14 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant or your ox or your donkey or any of your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.(nas) Deu 5:14 τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ σάββατα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου οὐ ποιήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ πᾶν ἔργον σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου ὁ βοῦς σου καὶ τὸ ὑποζύγιόν σου καὶ πᾶν κτῆνός σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος ὁ παροικῶν ἐν σοί ἵνα ἀναπαύσηται ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου ὥσπερ καὶ σύ (lxx) Deu 5:14 Septimus dies sabbati est, id est, requies Domini Dei tui. Non facies in eo quidquam operis tu, et filius tuus, et filia, servus et ancilla, et bos, et asinus, et omne jumentum tuum, et peregrinus qui est intra portas tuas: ut requiescat servus tuus, et ancilla tua, sicut et tu.(vulgate) 14 ׃5 וְי֨וֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔֜י שַׁבָּ֖֣ת ׀ לַיהוָ֣֥[c]ה אֱלֹהֶ֑֗יךָ לֹ֣א תַעֲשֶׂ֣ה כָל־מְלָאכָ֡ה אַתָּ֣ה וּבִנְךָֽ־וּבִתֶּ֣ךָ וְעַבְדְּךָֽ־וַ֠אֲמָתֶךָ וְשׁוֹרְךָ֨ וַחֲמֹֽרְךָ֜ וְכָל־בְּהֶמְתֶּ֗ךָ וְגֵֽרְךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּשְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ לְמַ֗עַן יָנ֛וּחַ עַבְדְּךָ֥ וַאֲמָתְךָ֖ כָּמֽ֑וֹךָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:14 Aber am siebenten Tage ist der Sabbat des HERRN, deines Gottes. Da sollst du keine Arbeit tun noch dein Sohn noch deine Tochter noch dein Knecht noch deine Magd noch dein Ochse noch dein Esel noch all dein Vieh noch dein Fremdling, der in deinen Toren ist, auf daß dein Knecht und deine Magd ruhe wie du.(dhs) Deu 5:14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 5:15 ============ Deu 5:15 You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day.(nas) Deu 5:15 καὶ μνησθήσῃ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἦσθα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐξήγαγέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐκεῖθεν ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ διὰ τοῦτο συνέταξέν σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὥστε φυλάσσεσθαι τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων καὶ ἁγιάζειν αὐτήν (lxx) Deu 5:15 Memento quod et ipse servieris in Ægypto, et eduxerit te inde Dominus Deus tuus in manu forti, et brachio extento. Idcirco præcepit tibi ut observares diem sabbati.(vulgate) 15 ׃5 וְזָכַרְתָּ֗֞ כִּ֣י־עֶ֤֥בֶד הָיִ֣֙יתָ֙ ׀ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔֗יִם וַיֹּצִ֨אֲךָ֜֩ יְהוָ֤֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֤֙יךָ֙ מִשָּׁ֔ם֙ בְּיָ֥֤ד חֲזָקָ֖ה֙ וּבִזְרֹ֣עַ נְטוּיָ֑֔ה עַל־כֵּ֗ן צִוְּךָ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת אֶת־י֥וֹם הַשַׁבָּֽת׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 5:15 Denn du sollst gedenken, daß du auch Knecht in Ägyptenland warst und der HERR, dein Gott, dich von dort ausgeführt hat mit einer mächtigen Hand und mit ausgerecktem Arm. Heutigestages haben wir gesehen, daß Gott mit Menschen redet, und sie lebendig bleiben.(dhs) Deu 5:24 And you said: 'Surely the Lord our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer, then we will die.(nas) Deu 5:25 καὶ νῦν μὴ ἀποθάνωμεν ὅτι ἐξαναλώσει ἡμᾶς τὸ πῦρ τὸ μέγα τοῦτο ἐὰν προσθώμεθα ἡμεῖς ἀκοῦσαι τὴν φωνὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἔτι καὶ ἀποθανούμεθα (lxx) Deu 5:25 Cur ergo moriemur, et devorabit nos ignis hic maximus? si enim audierimus ultra vocem Domini Dei nostri, moriemur.(vulgate) 25 ׃5 וְעַתָּה֙ לָ֣מָּה נָמ֔וּת כִּ֣י תֹֽאכְלֵ֔נוּ הָאֵ֥שׁ הַגְּדֹלָ֖ה הַזֹּ֑את אִם־יֹסְפִ֣ים ׀ אֲנַ֗חְנוּ לִ֠שְׁמֹעַ אֶת־ק֨וֹל יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ ע֖וֹד וָמָֽתְנוּ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:25 Und nun, warum sollen wir sterben, daß uns dies große Feuer verzehre? They have done well in all that they have spoken.(nas) Deu 5:28 καὶ ἤκουσεν κύριος τὴν φωνὴν τῶν λόγων ὑμῶν λαλούντων πρός με καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ἤκουσα τὴν φωνὴν τῶν λόγων τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου ὅσα ἐλάλησαν πρὸς σέ ὀρθῶς πάντα ὅσα ἐλάλησαν (lxx) Deu 5:28 Quod cum audisset Dominus, ait ad me: Audivi vocem verborum populi hujus quæ locuti sunt tibi: bene omnia sunt locuti.(vulgate) 28 ׃5 וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ק֣וֹל דִּבְרֵיכֶ֔ם בְּדַבֶּרְכֶ֖ם אֵלָ֑י וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י שָׁ֠מַעְתִּי אֶת־ק֨וֹל דִּבְרֵ֜י הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבְּר֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יךָ הֵיטִ֖יבוּ כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽרוּ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 5:28 Da aber der HERR eure Worte hörte, die ihr mit mir redetet, sprach er zu mir: Ich habe gehört die Worte dieses Volks, die sie dir geredet haben; es ist alles gut, was sie geredet haben.(dhs) Deu 5:28 Then the Lord heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me: 'I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you.
