Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 1:1 ============ 2Ch 1:1 Now Solomon the son of David established himself securely over his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and exalted him greatly.(nas) 2Ch 1:1 καὶ ἐνίσχυσεν Σαλωμων υἱὸς Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ καὶ κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐμεγάλυνεν αὐτὸν εἰς ὕψος (lxx) 2Ch 1:1 Confortatus est ergo Salomon filius David in regno suo, et Dominus Deus ejus erat cum eo, et magnificavit eum in excelsum.(vulgate) 1 ׃1 וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֛ק שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה בֶן־דָּוִ֖יד עַל־מַלְכוּת֑וֹ וַיהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהָיו֙ עִמּ֔וֹ וַֽיְגַדְּלֵ֖הוּ לְמָֽעְלָה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:1 Und Salomo, der Sohn Davids, ward in seinem Reich bekräftigt; und der HERR, sein Gott, war mit ihm und machte ihn immer größer.(dhs) 2Ch 1:1 Now Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and exalted him exceedingly.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:2 ============ 2Ch 1:2 Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and to the judges and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' households.(nas) 2Ch 1:2 καὶ εἶπεν Σαλωμων πρὸς πάντα Ισραηλ τοῖς χιλιάρχοις καὶ τοῖς ἑκατοντάρχοις καὶ τοῖς κριταῖς καὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἄρχουσιν ἐναντίον Ισραηλ τοῖς ἄρχουσι τῶν πατριῶν (lxx) 2Ch 1:2 Præcepitque Salomon universo Israëli, tribunis, et centurionibus, et ducibus, et judicibus omnis Israël, et principibus familiarum:(vulgate) 2 ׃1 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה לְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל לְשָׂרֵי֩ הָאֲלָפִ֨ים וְהַמֵּא֜וֹת וְלַשֹּֽׁפְטִ֗ים וּלְכֹ֛ל נָשִׂ֥יא לְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל רָאשֵׁ֥י הָאָבֽוֹת׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:2 Und Salomo redete mit dem ganzen Israel, mit den Obersten über tausend und hundert, mit den Richtern und mit allen Fürsten in Israel, mit den Obersten der Vaterhäuser,(dhs) 2Ch 1:2 And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:3 ============ 2Ch 1:3 Then Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place which was at Gibeon, for God's tent of meeting was there, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.(nas) 2Ch 1:3 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σαλωμων καὶ πᾶσα ἡ ἐκκλησία μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ὑψηλὴν τὴν ἐν Γαβαων οὗ ἐκεῖ ἦν ἡ σκηνὴ τοῦ μαρτυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἣν ἐποίησεν Μωυσῆς παῖς κυρίου ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ (lxx) 2Ch 1:3 et abiit cum universa multitudine in excelsum Gabaon, ubi erat tabernaculum fœderis Dei, quod fecit Moyses famulus Dei in solitudine.(vulgate) 3 ׃1 וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ וְכָל־הַקָּהָ֣ל עִמּ֔וֹ לַבָּמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּגִבְע֑וֹן כִּי־שָׁ֣ם הָיָ֗ה אֹ֤הֶל מוֹעֵד֙ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֛ה מֹשֶׁ֥ה עֶֽבֶד־יְהוָ֖ה בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:3 daß sie hingingen, Salomo und die ganze Gemeinde mit ihm, zu der Höhe, die zu Gibeon war; denn daselbst war die Hütte des Stifts Gottes, die Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gemacht hatte in der Wüste.(dhs) 2Ch 1:3 Then Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for the tabernacle of meeting with God was there, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:4 ============ 2Ch 1:4 However, David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.(nas) 2Ch 1:4 ἀλλὰ κιβωτὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἀνήνεγκεν Δαυιδ ἐκ πόλεως Καριαθιαριμ ὅτι ἡτοίμασεν αὐτῇ σκηνὴν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 1:4 Arcam autem Dei adduxerat David de Cariathiarim in locum quem præparaverat ei, et ubi fixerat illi tabernaculum, hoc est, in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 4 ׃1 אֲבָ֗ל אֲר֤וֹן הָאֱלֹהִים֙ הֶעֱלָ֤ה דָוִיד֙ מִקִּרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים בַּֽהֵכִ֥ין ל֖וֹ דָּוִ֑יד כִּ֧י נָֽטָה־ל֛וֹ אֹ֖הֶל בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:4 (Aber die Lade Gottes hatte David heraufgebracht von Kirjath-Jearim an den Ort, den er bereitet hatte; denn er hatte ihr eine Hütte aufgeschlagen zu Jerusalem.)(dhs) 2Ch 1:4 But David had brought up the ark of God from Kirjath Jearim to the place David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:5 ============ 2Ch 1:5 Now the bronze altar, which Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of the Lord, and Solomon and the assembly sought it out.(nas) 2Ch 1:5 καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χαλκοῦν ὃ ἐποίησεν Βεσελεηλ υἱὸς Ουριου υἱοῦ Ωρ ἐκεῖ ἦν ἔναντι τῆς σκηνῆς κυρίου καὶ ἐξεζήτησεν αὐτὸ Σαλωμων καὶ ἡ ἐκκλησία (lxx) 2Ch 1:5 Altare quoque æneum quod fabricatus fuerat Beseleel filius Uri filii Hur, ibi erat coram tabernaculo Domini: quod et requisivit Salomon, et omnis ecclesia.(vulgate) 5 ׃1 וּמִזְבַּ֣ח הַנְּחֹ֗שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשָׂה֙ בְּצַלְאֵל֙ בֶּן־אוּרִ֣י בֶן־ח֔וּר שָׂ֕ם לִפְנֵ֖י מִשְׁכַּ֣ן יְהוָ֑ה וַיִּדְרְשֵׁ֥הוּ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה וְהַקָּהָֽל׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:5 Aber der eherne Altar, den Bezaleel, der Sohn Uris, des Sohnes Hurs, gemacht hatte, war daselbst vor der Wohnung des HERRN; und Salomo und die Gemeinde pflegten ihn zu suchen.(dhs) 2Ch 1:5 Now the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord; Solomon and the assembly sought Him there.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:6 ============ 2Ch 1:6 Solomon went up there before the Lord to the bronze altar which was at the tent of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.(nas) 2Ch 1:6 καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν ἐκεῖ Σαλωμων ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χαλκοῦν ἐνώπιον κυρίου τὸ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸ ὁλοκαύτωσιν χιλίαν (lxx) 2Ch 1:6 Ascenditque Salomon ad altare æneum, coram tabernaculo fœderis Domini, et obtulit in eo mille hostias.(vulgate) 6 ׃1 וַיַּעַל֩ שְׁלֹמֹ֨ה שָׁ֜ם עַל־מִזְבַּ֤ח הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר לְאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וַיַּ֧עַל עָלָ֛יו עֹל֖וֹת אָֽלֶף׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:6 Und Salomo opferte auf dem ehernen Altar vor dem HERRN, der vor der Hütte des Stifts stand, tausend Brandopfer.(dhs) 2Ch 1:6 And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:7 ============ 2Ch 1:7 In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, "Ask what I shall give you."(nas) 2Ch 1:7 ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ ὤφθη ὁ θεὸς τῷ Σαλωμων καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ αἴτησαι τί σοι δῶ (lxx) 2Ch 1:7 Ecce autem in ipsa nocte apparuit ei Deus, dicens: Postula quod vis, ut dem tibi.(vulgate) 7 ׃1 בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַה֔וּא נִרְאָ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֖ים לִשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֔וֹ שְׁאַ֖ל מָ֥ה אֶתֶּן־לָֽךְ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:7 In derselben Nacht aber erschien Gott Salomo und sprach zu ihm: Bitte, was soll ich dir geben?(dhs) 2Ch 1:7 On that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, "Ask! What shall I give you?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:8 ============ 2Ch 1:8 Solomon said to God, "You have dealt with my father David with great lovingkindness, and have made me king in his place.(nas) 2Ch 1:8 καὶ εἶπεν Σαλωμων πρὸς τὸν θεόν σὺ ἐποίησας μετὰ Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός μου ἔλεος μέγα καὶ ἐβασίλευσάς με ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 1:8 Dixitque Salomon Deo: Tu fecisti cum David patre meo misericordiam magnam, et constituisti me regem pro eo.(vulgate) 8 ׃1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים אַתָּ֗ה עָשִׂ֛יתָ עִם־דָּוִ֥יד אָבִ֖י חֶ֣סֶד גָּד֑וֹל וְהִמְלַכְתַּ֖נִי תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:8 Und Salomo sprach zu Gott: Du hast große Barmherzigkeit an meinem Vater David getan und hast mich an seiner Statt zum König gemacht;(dhs) 2Ch 1:8 And Solomon said to God: "You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in his place.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:9 ============ 2Ch 1:9 Now, O Lord God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.(nas) 2Ch 1:9 καὶ νῦν κύριε ὁ θεός πιστωθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπὶ Δαυιδ πατέρα μου ὅτι σὺ ἐβασίλευσάς με ἐπὶ λαὸν πολὺν ὡς ὁ χοῦς τῆς γῆς (lxx) 2Ch 1:9 Nunc ergo Domine Deus, impleatur sermo tuus quem pollicitus es David patri meo: tu enim me fecisti regem super populum tuum multum, qui tam innumerabilis est quam pulvis terræ.(vulgate) 9 ׃1 עַתָּה֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֔ים יֵֽאָמֵן֙ דְּבָ֣רְךָ֔ עִ֖ם דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑י כִּ֤י אַתָּה֙ הִמְלַכְתַּ֔נִי עַל־עַ֕ם רַ֖ב כַּעֲפַ֥ר הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:9 so laß nun, HERR, Gott, deine Worte wahr werden an meinem Vater David; denn du hast mich zum König gemacht über ein Volk, des so viel ist als Staub auf Erden.(dhs) 2Ch 1:9 Now, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:10 ============ 2Ch 1:10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?"(nas) 2Ch 1:10 νῦν σοφίαν καὶ σύνεσιν δός μοι καὶ ἐξελεύσομαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου καὶ εἰσελεύσομαι ὅτι τίς κρινεῖ τὸν λαόν σου τὸν μέγαν τοῦτον (lxx) 2Ch 1:10 Da mihi sapientiam et intelligentiam, ut ingrediar et egrediar coram populo tuo: quis enim potest hunc populum tuum digne, qui tam grandis est, judicare?~(vulgate) 10 ׃1 עַתָּ֗ה חָכְמָ֤ה וּמַדָּע֙ תֶּן־לִ֔י וְאֵֽצְאָ֛ה לִפְנֵ֥י הָֽעָם־הַזֶּ֖ה וְאָב֑וֹאָה כִּֽי־מִ֣י יִשְׁפֹּ֔ט אֶת־עַמְּךָ֥ הַזֶּ֖ה הַגָּדֽוֹל׃ ס Chronicles2 2Ch 1:10 So gib mir nun Weisheit und Erkenntnis, daß ich vor diesem Volk aus und ein gehe; denn wer kann dies dein großes Volk richten?(dhs) 2Ch 1:10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:11 ============ 2Ch 1:11 God said to Solomon, "Because you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king,(nas) 2Ch 1:11 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Σαλωμων ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἐγένετο τοῦτο ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου καὶ οὐκ ᾐτήσω πλοῦτον χρημάτων οὐδὲ δόξαν οὐδὲ τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν ὑπεναντίων καὶ ἡμέρας πολλὰς οὐκ ᾐτήσω καὶ ᾔτησας σεαυτῷ σοφίαν καὶ σύνεσιν ὅπως κρίνῃς τὸν λαόν μου ἐφ᾽ ὃν ἐβασίλευσά σε ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν (lxx) 2Ch 1:11 Dixit autem Deus ad Salomonem: Quia hoc magis placuit cordi tuo, et non postulasti divitias, et substantiam, et gloriam, neque animas eorum qui te oderant, sed nec dies vitæ plurimos: petisti autem sapientiam et scientiam, ut judicare possis populum meum super quem constitui te regem:(vulgate) 11 ׃1 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר־אֱלֹהִ֣ים ׀ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֡ה יַ֣עַן אֲשֶׁר֩ הָיְתָ֨ה זֹ֜את עִם־לְבָבֶ֗ךָ וְלֹֽא־שָׁ֠אַלְתָּ עֹ֣שֶׁר נְכָסִ֤ים וְכָבוֹד֙ וְאֵת֙ נֶ֣פֶשׁ שֹׂנְאֶ֔יךָ וְגַם־יָמִ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים לֹ֣א שָׁאָ֑לְתָּ וַתִּֽשְׁאַל־לְךָ֙ חָכְמָ֣ה וּמַדָּ֔ע אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּשְׁפּוֹט֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִמְלַכְתִּ֖יךָ עָלָֽיו׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:11 Da sprach Gott zu Salomo: Weil du das im Sinn hast und hast nicht um Reichtum noch um Gut noch um Ehre noch um deiner Feinde Seele noch um langes Leben gebeten, sondern hast um Weisheit und Erkenntnis gebeten, daß du mein Volk richten mögst, darüber ich dich zum König gemacht habe,(dhs) 2Ch 1:11 And God said to Solomon: "Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life--but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king--(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:12 ============ 2Ch 1:12 wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor those who will come after you."(nas) 2Ch 1:12 τὴν σοφίαν καὶ τὴν σύνεσιν δίδωμί σοι καὶ πλοῦτον καὶ χρήματα καὶ δόξαν δώσω σοι ὡς οὐκ ἐγενήθη ὅμοιός σοι ἐν τοῖς βασιλεῦσι τοῖς ἔμπροσθέ σου καὶ μετὰ σὲ οὐκ ἔσται οὕτως (lxx) 2Ch 1:12 sapientia et scientia data sunt tibi: divitias autem et substantiam et gloriam dabo tibi, ita ut nullus in regibus nec ante te nec post te fuerit similis tui.(vulgate) 12 ׃1 הַֽחָכְמָ֥ה וְהַמַּדָּ֖ע נָת֣וּן לָ֑ךְ וְעֹ֨שֶׁר וּנְכָסִ֤ים וְכָבוֹד֙ אֶתֶּן־לָ֔ךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ לֹא־הָ֣יָה כֵ֗ן לַמְּלָכִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְפָנֶ֔יךָ וְאַחֲרֶ֖יךָ לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־כֵּֽן׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:12 so sei dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis gegeben; dazu will ich dir Reichtum und Gut und Ehre geben, daß deinesgleichen unter den Königen vor dir nicht gewesen ist noch werden soll nach dir.(dhs) 2Ch 1:12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:13 ============ 2Ch 1:13 So Solomon went from the high place which was at Gibeon, from the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem, and he reigned over Israel.(nas) 2Ch 1:13 καὶ ἦλθεν Σαλωμων ἐκ βαμα τῆς ἐν Γαβαων εἰς Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ προσώπου σκηνῆς μαρτυρίου καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Ch 1:13 Venit ergo Salomon ab excelso Gabaon in Jerusalem coram tabernaculo fœderis, et regnavit super Israël.(vulgate) 13 ׃1 וַיָּבֹ֨א שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה לַבָּמָ֤ה אֲשֶׁר־בְּגִבְעוֹן֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם מִלִּפְנֵ֖י אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 1:13 Also kam Salomo von der Höhe, die zu Gibeon war, von der Hütte des Stifts, gen Jerusalem und regierte über Israel.(dhs) 2Ch 1:13 So Solomon came to Jerusalem from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tabernacle of meeting, and reigned over Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 1:14 ============ 2Ch 1:14 Solomon amassed chariots and horsemen.
