Today's Date: ======= Psalm 137:1 ============ Psa 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down and wept, When we remembered Zion.(nas) Psa 137:1 τῷ Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τῶν ποταμῶν Βαβυλῶνος ἐκεῖ ἐκαθίσαμεν καὶ ἐκλαύσαμεν ἐν τῷ μνησθῆναι ἡμᾶς τῆς Σιων (lxx) Psa 137:1 [Vulgate 136:1] super flumina Babylonis ibi sedimus et flevimus cum recordaremur Sion(vulgate) 1 ׃137 עַ֥ל נַהֲר֨וֹת ׀ בָּבֶ֗ל שָׁ֣ם יָ֭שַׁבְנוּ גַּם־בָּכִ֑ינוּ בְּ֝זָכְרֵ֗נוּ אֶת־צִיּֽוֹן׃ Psalms Psa 137:1 An den Wassern zu Babel saßen wir und weinten, wenn wir an Zion gedachten.(dhs) Psa 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, αὐτῆς ἐκρεμάσαμεν τὰ ὄργανα ἡμῶν (lxx) Psa 137:2 [Vulgate 136:2] super salices in medio eius suspendimus citharas nostras(vulgate) 2 ׃137 עַֽל־עֲרָבִ֥ים בְּתוֹכָ֑הּ תָּ֝לִ֗ינוּ כִּנֹּרוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ Psalms Psa 137:2 Unsere Harfen hingen wir an die Weiden, die daselbst sind.(dhs) Psa 137:2 We hung our harps Upon the willows in the midst of it.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:3 ============ Psa 137:3 For there our captors demanded of us songs, And our tormentors mirth, saying, "Sing us one of the songs of Zion."(nas) Psa 137:3 ὅτι ἐκεῖ ἐπηρώτησαν ἡμᾶς οἱ αἰχμαλωτεύσαντες ἡμᾶς λόγους ᾠδῶν καὶ οἱ ἀπαγαγόντες ἡμᾶς ὕμνον ᾄσατε ἡμῖν ἐκ τῶν ᾠδῶν Σιων (lxx) Psa 137:3 [Vulgate 136:3] quoniam ibi interrogaverunt nos qui captivos duxerunt nos verba carminis et qui adfligebant nos laeti canite nobis de canticis Sion(vulgate) 3 ׃137 כִּ֤י שָׁ֨ם שְֽׁאֵל֪וּנוּ שׁוֹבֵ֡ינוּ דִּבְרֵי־שִׁ֭יר וְתוֹלָלֵ֣ינוּ שִׂמְחָ֑ה שִׁ֥ירוּ לָ֝֗נוּ מִשִּׁ֥יר צִיּֽוֹן׃ Psalms Psa 137:3 Denn dort hießen uns singen, die uns gefangen hielten, und in unserm Heulen fröhlich sein: "Singet uns ein Lied von Zion!"(dhs) Psa 137:3 For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, And those who plundered us requested mirth, Saying, "Sing us one of the songs of Zion!"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:4 ============ Psa 137:4 How can we sing the Lord's song In a foreign land?(nas) Psa 137:4 πῶς ᾄσωμεν τὴν ᾠδὴν κυρίου ἐπὶ γῆς ἀλλοτρίας (lxx) Psa 137:4 [Vulgate 136:4] quomodo cantabimus canticum Domini in terra aliena(vulgate) 4 ׃137 אֵ֗יךְ נָשִׁ֥יר אֶת־שִׁיר־יְהוָ֑ה עַ֝֗ל אַדְמַ֥ת נֵכָֽר׃ Psalms Psa 137:4 Wie sollten wir des HERRN Lied singen in fremden Landen?(dhs) Psa 137:4 How shall we sing the Lord's song In a foreign land?(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:5 ============ Psa 137:5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, May my right hand forget her skill.(nas) Psa 137:5 ἐὰν ἐπιλάθωμαί σου Ιερουσαλημ ἐπιλησθείη ἡ δεξιά μου (lxx) Psa 137:5 [Vulgate 136:5] si oblitus fuero tui Hierusalem in oblivione sit dextera mea(vulgate) 5 ׃137 אִֽם־אֶשְׁכָּחֵ֥ךְ יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם תִּשְׁכַּ֥ח יְמִינֽ͏ִי׃ Psalms Psa 137:5 Vergesse ich dein, Jerusalem, so werde ich meiner Rechten vergessen.(dhs) Psa 137:5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill!(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:6 ============ Psa 137:6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth If I do not remember you, If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy.(nas) Psa 137:6 κολληθείη ἡ γλῶσσά μου τῷ λάρυγγί μου ἐὰν μή σου μνησθῶ ἐὰν μὴ προανατάξωμαι τὴν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν ἀρχῇ τῆς εὐφροσύνης μου (lxx) Psa 137:6 [Vulgate 136:6] adhereat lingua mea gutturi meo si non recordatus fuero tui si non praeposuero Hierusalem in principio laetitiae meae(vulgate) 6 ׃137 תִּדְבַּֽק־לְשׁוֹנִ֨י ׀ לְחִכִּי֮ אִם־לֹ֢א אֶזְכְּ֫רֵ֥כִי אִם־לֹ֣א אַ֭עֲלֶה אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֑͏ִם עַ֝֗ל רֹ֣אשׁ שִׂמְחָתֽ͏ִי׃ Psalms Psa 137:6 Meine Zunge soll an meinem Gaumen kleben, wo ich nicht dein gedenke, wo ich nicht lasse Jerusalem meine höchste Freude sein.(dhs) Psa the sons of Edom The day of Jerusalem, Who said, "Raze it, raze it To its very foundation."(nas) Psa 137:7 μνήσθητι κύριε τῶν υἱῶν Εδωμ τὴν ἡμέραν Ιερουσαλημ τῶν λεγόντων ἐκκενοῦτε ἐκκενοῦτε ἕως ὁ θεμέλιος ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Psa 137:7 [Vulgate 136:7] memento Domine filiorum Edom in diem Hierusalem dicentium evacuate evacuate usque ad fundamentum eius(vulgate) 7 ׃137 זְכֹ֤ר יְהוָ֨ה ׀ לִבְנֵ֬י אֱד֗וֹם אֵת֮ י֤וֹם יְֽרוּשָׁ֫לָ֥͏ִם הָ֭אֹ֣מְרִים עָ֤רוּ ׀ עָ֑רוּ עָ֝֗ד הַיְס֥וֹד בָּֽהּ׃ Psalms Psa 137:7 HERR, gedenke der Kinder Edom den Tag Jerusalems, die da sagten: "Rein ab, rein ab bis auf ihren Boden!"(dhs) Psa 137:7 Remember, O Lord, against the sons of Edom The day of Jerusalem, Who said, "Raze it, raze it, To its very foundation!"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:8 ============ Psa 137:8 O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, How blessed will be the one who repays you With the recompense with which you have repaid us.(nas) Psa 137:8 θυγάτηρ Βαβυλῶνος ἡ ταλαίπωρος μακάριος ὃς ἀνταποδώσει σοι τὸ ἀνταπόδομά σου ὃ ἀνταπέδωκας ἡμῖν (lxx) Psa 137:8 [Vulgate 136:8] filia Babylon vastata beatus qui retribuet tibi vicissitudinem tuam quam retribuisti nobis(vulgate) 8 ׃137 בַּת־בָּבֶ֗ל הַשְּׁד֫וּדָ֥ה אַשְׁרֵ֥י שֶׁיְשַׁלֶּם־לָ֑ךְ אֶת־גְּ֝מוּלֵ֗ךְ שֶׁגָּמַ֥לְתְּ לָֽנוּ׃ Psalms Psa 137:8 Du verstörte Tochter Babel, wohl dem, der dir vergilt, wie du uns getan hast!(dhs) Psa 137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, Happy the one who repays you as you have served us!(nkjv) ======= Psalm 137:9 ============ Psa 137:9 How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock.(nas) Psa 137:9 μακάριος ὃς κρατήσει καὶ ἐδαφιεῖ τὰ νήπιά σου πρὸς τὴν πέτραν (lxx) Psa 137:9 [Vulgate 136:9] beatus qui tenebit et adlidet parvulos tuos ad petram(vulgate) 9 ׃137 אַשְׁרֵ֤י ׀ שֶׁיֹּאחֵ֓ז וְנִפֵּ֬ץ אֶֽת־עֹלָלַ֗יִךְ אֶל־הַסָּֽלַע׃ Psalms Psa 137:9 Wohl dem, der deine jungen Kinder nimmt und zerschmettert sie an dem Stein!(dhs) Psa 137:9
