Or where can I flee from Your presence?(nas) Psa 139:7 ποῦ πορευθῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ πνεύματός σου καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου σου ποῦ φύγω (lxx) Psa 139:7 [Vulgate 138:7] quo ibo ab spiritu tuo et quo a facie tua fugiam(vulgate) 7 ׃139 אָ֭נָ֥ה אֵלֵ֣ךְ מֵרוּחֶ֑ךָ וְ֝אָ֗נָה מִפָּנֶ֥יךָ אֶבְרָֽח׃ Psalms Psa 139:7 Wo soll ich hin gehen vor deinem Geist, und wo soll ich hin fliehen vor deinem Angesicht?(dhs) Psa 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Bettete ich mir in die Hölle, siehe, so bist du auch da.(dhs) Psa 139:8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:9 ============ Psa 139:9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,(nas) Psa 139:9 ἐὰν ἀναλάβοιμι τὰς πτέρυγάς μου κατ᾽ ὄρθρον καὶ κατασκηνώσω εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα τῆς θαλάσσης (lxx) Psa 139:9 [Vulgate 138:9] si sumpsero pinnas diluculo habitavero in novissimo maris(vulgate) 9 ׃139 אֶשָּׂ֥א כַנְפֵי־שָׁ֑חַר אֶ֝שְׁכְּנָ֗ה בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית יָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 139:9 Nähme ich Flügel der Morgenröte und bliebe am äußersten Meer,(dhs) Psa 139:9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:10 ============ Psa 139:10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.(nas) Psa 139:10 καὶ γὰρ ἐκεῖ ἡ χείρ σου ὁδηγήσει με καὶ καθέξει με ἡ δεξιά σου (lxx) Psa 139:10 [Vulgate 138:10] etiam ibi manus tua deducet me et tenebit me dextera tua(vulgate) 10 ׃139 גַּם־שָׁ֭ם יָדְךָ֣ תַנְחֵ֑נִי וְֽתֹאחֲזֵ֥נִי יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ Psalms Psa 139:10 so würde mich doch deine Hand daselbst führen und deine Rechte mich halten.(dhs) Psa 139:10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:11 ============ Psa 139:11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,"(nas) Psa 139:11 καὶ εἶπα ἄρα σκότος καταπατήσει με καὶ νὺξ φωτισμὸς ἐν τῇ τρυφῇ μου (lxx) Psa 139:11 [Vulgate 138:11] si dixero forte tenebrae operient me nox quoque lux erit circa me(vulgate) 11 ׃139 וָ֭אֹמַר אַךְ־חֹ֣שֶׁךְ יְשׁוּפֵ֑נִי וְ֝לַ֗יְלָה א֣וֹר בַּעֲדֵֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 139:11 Spräche ich: Finsternis möge mich decken! so muß die Nacht auch Licht um mich sein.(dhs) Psa 139:11 If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me;(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:12 ============ Psa 139:12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.(nas) Psa 139:12 ὅτι σκότος οὐ σκοτισθήσεται ἀπὸ σοῦ καὶ νὺξ ὡς ἡμέρα φωτισθήσεται ὡς τὸ σκότος αὐτῆς οὕτως καὶ τὸ φῶς αὐτῆς (lxx) Psa 139:12 [Vulgate 138:12] nec tenebrae habent tenebras apud te et nox quasi dies lucet similes sunt tenebrae et lux(vulgate) 12 ׃139 גַּם־חֹשֶׁךְ֮ לֹֽא־יַחְשִׁ֢יךְ מִ֫מֶּ֥ךָ וְ֭לַיְלָה כַּיּ֣וֹם יָאִ֑יר כַּ֝חֲשֵׁיכָ֗ה כָּאוֹרָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 139:12 Denn auch Finsternis ist nicht finster bei dir, und die Nacht leuchtet wie der Tag, Finsternis ist wie das Licht.(dhs) Psa 139:12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:13 ============ Psa 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.(nas) Psa 139:13 ὅτι σὺ ἐκτήσω τοὺς νεφρούς μου κύριε ἀντελάβου μου ἐκ γαστρὸς μητρός μου (lxx) Psa 139:13 [Vulgate 138:13] quoniam tu possedisti renes meos orsusque es me in utero matris meae(vulgate) 13 ׃139 כִּֽי־אַ֭תָּה קָנִ֣יתָ כִלְיֹתָ֑י תְּ֝סֻכֵּ֗נִי בְּבֶ֣טֶן אִמִּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 139:13 Denn du hast meine Nieren bereitet und hast mich gebildet im Mutterleib.(dhs) Psa 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:14 ============ Psa 139:14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.(nas) Psa 139:14 ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ὅτι φοβερῶς ἐθαυμαστώθην θαυμάσια τὰ ἔργα σου καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου γινώσκει σφόδρα (lxx) Psa 139:14 [Vulgate 138:14] confitebor tibi quoniam terribiliter magnificasti me mirabilia opera tua et anima mea novit nimis(vulgate) 14 ׃139 אֽוֹדְךָ֗ עַ֤ל כִּ֥י נוֹרָא֗וֹת נִ֫פְלֵ֥יתִי נִפְלָאִ֥ים מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י יֹדַ֥עַת מְאֹֽד׃ Psalms Psa 139:14 Ich danke dir dafür, daß ich wunderbar gemacht bin; wunderbar sind deine Werke, und das erkennt meine Seele wohl.(dhs) Psa 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:15 ============ Psa 139:15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;(nas) Psa 139:15 οὐκ ἐκρύβη τὸ ὀστοῦν μου ἀπὸ σοῦ ὃ ἐποίησας ἐν κρυφῇ καὶ ἡ ὑπόστασίς μου ἐν τοῖς κατωτάτοις τῆς γῆς (lxx) Psa 139:15 [Vulgate 138:15] non sunt operta ossa mea a te quibus factus sum in abscondito imaginatus sum in novissimis terrae(vulgate) 15 ׃139 לֹא־נִכְחַ֥ד עָצְמִ֗י מִ֫מֶּ֥ךָּ אֲשֶׁר־עֻשֵּׂ֥יתִי בַסֵּ֑תֶר רֻ֝קַּ֗מְתִּי בְּֽתַחְתִּיּ֥וֹת אָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 139:15 Es war dir mein Gebein nicht verhohlen, da ich im Verborgenen gemacht ward, da ich gebildet ward unten in der Erde.(dhs) Psa 139:15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:16 ============ Psa 139:16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.(nas) Psa 139:16 τὸ ἀκατέργαστόν μου εἴδοσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ βιβλίον σου πάντες γραφήσονται ἡμέρας πλασθήσονται καὶ οὐθεὶς ἐν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Psa 139:16 [Vulgate 138:16] informem adhuc me viderunt oculi tui et in libro tuo omnes scribentur dies formatae sunt et non est una in eis(vulgate) 16 ׃139 גָּלְמִ֤י ׀ רָ֘א֤וּ עֵינֶ֗יךָ וְעַֽל־סִפְרְךָ֮ כֻּלָּ֢ם יִכָּ֫תֵ֥בוּ יָמִ֥ים יֻצָּ֑רוּ *ולא **וְל֖וֹ אֶחָ֣ד בָּהֶֽם׃ Psalms Psa 139:16 Deine Augen sahen mich, da ich noch unbereitet war, und alle Tage waren auf dein Buch geschrieben, die noch werden sollten, als derselben keiner da war.(dhs) Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. How vast is the sum of them!(nas) Psa 139:17 ἐμοὶ δὲ λίαν ἐτιμήθησαν οἱ φίλοι σου ὁ θεός λίαν ἐκραταιώθησαν αἱ ἀρχαὶ αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 139:17 [Vulgate 138:17] mihi autem quam honorabiles facti sunt amici tui Deus quam fortes pauperes eorum(vulgate) 17 ׃139 וְלִ֗י מַה־יָּקְר֣וּ רֵעֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑ל מֶ֥ה עָ֝צְמוּ רָאשֵׁיהֶֽם׃ Psalms Psa 139:17 Aber wie köstlich sind vor mir, Gott, deine Gedanken! Wie ist ihrer so eine große Summe!(dhs) Psa 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! When I awake, I am still with You.(nas) Psa 139:18 ἐξαριθμήσομαι αὐτούς καὶ ὑπὲρ ἄμμον πληθυνθήσονται ἐξηγέρθην καὶ ἔτι εἰμὶ μετὰ σοῦ (lxx) Psa 139:18 [Vulgate 138:18] dinumerabo eos et harena plures erunt evigilavi et adhuc sum tecum(vulgate) 18 ׃139 אֶ֭סְפְּרֵם מֵח֣וֹל יִרְבּ֑וּן הֱ֝קִיצֹ֗תִי וְעוֹדִ֥י עִמָּֽךְ׃ Psalms Psa 139:18 Sollte ich sie zählen, so würde ihrer mehr sein denn des Sandes. Wenn ich aufwache, bin ich noch bei dir.(dhs) Psa 139:18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:19 ============ Psa 139:19 O that You would slay the wicked, O God; Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.(nas) Psa 139:19 ἐὰν ἀποκτείνῃς ἁμαρτωλούς ὁ θεός ἄνδρες αἱμάτων ἐκκλίνατε ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ (lxx) Psa 139:19 [Vulgate 138:19] si occideris Deus impium viri sanguinum declinate a me(vulgate) 19 ׃139 אִם־תִּקְטֹ֖ל אֱל֥וֹהַּ ׀ רָשָׁ֑ע וְאַנְשֵׁ֥י דָ֝מִ֗ים ס֣וּרוּ מֶֽנִּי׃ Psalms Psa 139:19 Ach Gott, daß du tötetest die Gottlosen, und die Blutgierigen von mir weichen müßten!(dhs) Psa 139:19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:20 ============ Psa 139:20 For they speak against You wickedly, And Your enemies take Your name in vain.(nas) Psa 139:20 ὅτι ἐρεῖς εἰς διαλογισμόν λήμψονται εἰς ματαιότητα τὰς πόλεις σου (lxx) Psa 139:20 [Vulgate 138:20] qui contradicent tibi scelerate elati sunt frustra adversarii tui(vulgate) 20 ׃139 אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֹ֭אמְרֻךָ לִמְזִמָּ֑ה נָשֻׂ֖א לַשָּׁ֣וְא עָרֶֽיךָ׃ Psalms Psa 139:20 Denn sie reden von dir lästerlich, und deine Feinde erheben sich ohne Ursache.(dhs) Psa 139:20 For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:21 ============ Psa 139:21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?(nas) Psa 139:21 οὐχὶ τοὺς μισοῦντάς σε κύριε ἐμίσησα καὶ ἐπὶ τοῖς ἐχθροῖς σου ἐξετηκόμην (lxx) Psa 139:21 [Vulgate 138:21] nonne odientes te Domine odivi et contra adversarios tuos distabui(vulgate) 21 ׃139 הֲלֽוֹא־מְשַׂנְאֶ֖יךָ יְהוָ֥ה ׀ אֶשְׂנָ֑א וּ֝בִתְקוֹמְמֶ֗יךָ אֶתְקוֹטָֽט׃ Psalms Psa 139:21 Ich hasse ja, HERR, die dich hassen, und es verdrießt mich an ihnen, daß sie sich wider dich setzen.(dhs) Psa 139:21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:22 ============ Psa 139:22 I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies.(nas) Psa 139:22 τέλειον μῖσος ἐμίσουν αὐτούς εἰς ἐχθροὺς ἐγένοντό μοι (lxx) Psa 139:22 [Vulgate 138:22] perfecto odio oderam illos inimici facti sunt mihi(vulgate) 22 ׃139 תַּכְלִ֣ית שִׂנְאָ֣ה שְׂנֵאתִ֑ים לְ֝אוֹיְבִ֗ים הָ֣יוּ לִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 139:22 Ich hasse sie im rechten Ernst; sie sind mir zu Feinden geworden.(dhs) Psa 139:22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:23 ============ Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;(nas) Psa 139:23 δοκίμασόν με ὁ θεός καὶ γνῶθι τὴν καρδίαν μου ἔτασόν με καὶ γνῶθι τὰς τρίβους μου (lxx) Psa 139:23 [Vulgate 138:23] scrutare me Deus et cognosce cor meum proba me et scito cogitationes meas(vulgate) 23 ׃139 חָקְרֵ֣נִי אֵ֭ל וְדַ֣ע לְבָבִ֑י בְּ֝חָנֵ֗נִי וְדַ֣ע שַׂרְעַפָּֽי׃ Psalms Psa 139:23 Erforsche mich, Gott, und erfahre mein Herz; prüfe mich und erfahre, wie ich's meine.(dhs) Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;(nkjv) ======= Psalm 139:24 ============ Psa 139:24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.(nas) Psa 139:24 καὶ ἰδὲ εἰ ὁδὸς ἀνομίας ἐν ἐμοί καὶ ὁδήγησόν με ἐν ὁδῷ αἰωνίᾳ (lxx) Psa 139:24 [Vulgate 138:24] et vide si via idoli in me est et deduc me in via aeterna(vulgate) 24 ׃139 וּרְאֵ֗ה אִם־דֶּֽרֶךְ־עֹ֥צֶב בִּ֑י וּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עוֹלָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 139:24 Und siehe, ob ich auf bösem Wege bin, und leite mich auf ewigem Wege.(dhs) Psa 139:24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 140:1 ============ top of the page
