Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 66:1 ============ Isa 66:1 Thus says the Lord, "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?(nas) Isa 66:1 οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ οὐρανός μοι θρόνος ἡ δὲ γῆ ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν μου ποῖον οἶκον οἰκοδομήσετέ μοι ἢ ποῖος τόπος τῆς καταπαύσεώς μου (lxx) Isa 66:1 [Hæc dicit Dominus: Cælum sedes mea, terra autem scabellum pedum meorum. Quæ est ista domus quam ædificabitis mihi? et quis est iste locus quietis meæ?(vulgate) 1 ׃66 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם כִּסְאִ֔י וְהָאָ֖רֶץ הֲדֹ֣ם רַגְלָ֑י אֵי־זֶ֥ה בַ֙יִת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּבְנוּ־לִ֔י וְאֵי־זֶ֥ה מָק֖וֹם מְנוּחָתִֽי׃ Isaiah Isa 66:1 So spricht der HERR: Der Himmel ist mein Stuhl und die Erde meine Fußbank; was ist's denn für ein Haus, daß ihr mir bauen wollt, oder welches ist die Stätte, da ich ruhen soll?(dhs) Isa 66:1 Thus says the Lord: "Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. And where is the place of My rest?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:2 ============ Isa 66:2 "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the Lord." But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.(nas) Isa 66:2 πάντα γὰρ ταῦτα ἐποίησεν ἡ χείρ μου καὶ ἔστιν ἐμὰ πάντα ταῦτα λέγει κύριος καὶ ἐπὶ τίνα ἐπιβλέψω ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐπὶ τὸν ταπεινὸν καὶ ἡσύχιον καὶ τρέμοντα τοὺς λόγους μου (lxx) Isa 66:2 Omnia hæc manus mea fecit, et facta sunt universa ista, dicit Dominus; ad quem autem respiciam, nisi ad pauperculum, et contritum spiritu, et trementem sermones meos?(vulgate) 2 ׃66 וְאֶת־כָּל־אֵ֙לֶּה֙ יָדִ֣י עָשָׂ֔תָה וַיִּהְי֥וּ כָל־אֵ֖לֶּה נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְאֶל־זֶ֣ה אַבִּ֔יט אֶל־עָנִי֙ וּנְכֵה־ר֔וּחַ וְחָרֵ֖ד עַל־דְּבָרִֽי׃ Isaiah Isa 66:2 Meine Hand hat alles gemacht, was da ist, spricht der HERR. Ich sehe aber an den Elenden und der zerbrochenen Geistes ist und der sich fürchtet vor meinem Wort.(dhs) Isa 66:2 For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist," Says the Lord. "But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:3 ============ Isa 66:3 "But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog's neck; He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine's blood; He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol. As they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations,(nas) Isa 66:3 ὁ δὲ ἄνομος ὁ θύων μοι μόσχον ὡς ὁ ἀποκτέννων κύνα ὁ δὲ ἀναφέρων σεμίδαλιν ὡς αἷμα ὕειον ὁ διδοὺς λίβανον εἰς μνημόσυνον ὡς βλάσφημος καὶ οὗτοι ἐξελέξαντο τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτῶν ἃ ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτῶν ἠθέλησεν (lxx) Isa 66:3 Qui immolat bovem, quasi qui interficiat virum; qui mactat pecus, quasi qui excerebret canem; qui offert oblationem, quasi qui sanguinem suillum offerat; qui recordatur thuris, quasi qui benedicat idolo. Hæc omnia elegerunt in viis suis, et in abominationibus suis anima eorum delectata est.(vulgate) 3 ׃66 שׁוֹחֵ֨ט הַשּׁ֜וֹר מַכֵּה־אִ֗ישׁ זוֹבֵ֤חַ הַשֶּׂה֙ עֹ֣רֵֽף כֶּ֔לֶב מַעֲלֵ֤ה מִנְחָה֙ דַּם־חֲזִ֔יר מַזְכִּ֥יר לְבֹנָ֖ה מְבָ֣רֵֽךְ אָ֑וֶן גַּם־הֵ֗מָּה בָּֽחֲרוּ֙ בְּדַרְכֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֖ם נַפְשָׁ֥ם חָפֵֽצָה׃ Isaiah Isa 66:3 Wer einen Ochsen schlachtet, ist eben als der einen Mann erschlüge; wer ein Schaf opfert, ist als der einem Hund den Hals bräche; wer Speisopfer bringt, ist als der Saublut opfert, wer Weihrauch anzündet, ist als der das Unrecht lobt. Solches erwählen sie in ihren Wegen, und ihre Seele hat Gefallen an ihren Greueln.(dhs) Isa 66:3 "He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck; He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine's blood; He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:4 ============ Isa 66:4 So I will choose their punishments And will bring on them what they dread. Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sight And chose that in which I did not delight."(nas) Isa 66:4 κἀγὼ ἐκλέξομαι τὰ ἐμπαίγματα αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἀνταποδώσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἐκάλεσα αὐτοὺς καὶ οὐχ ὑπήκουσάν μου ἐλάλησα καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν καὶ ἐποίησαν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον μου καὶ ἃ οὐκ ἐβουλόμην ἐξελέξαντο (lxx) Isa 66:4 Unde et ego eligam illusiones eorum, et quæ timebant adducam eis; quia vocavi, et non erat qui responderet; locutus sum, et non audierunt; feceruntque malum in oculis meis, et quæ nolui elegerunt.(vulgate) 4 ׃66 גַּם־אֲנִ֞י אֶבְחַ֣ר בְּתַעֲלֻלֵיהֶ֗ם וּמְגֽוּרֹתָם֙ אָבִ֣יא לָהֶ֔ם יַ֤עַן קָרָ֙אתִי֙ וְאֵ֣ין עוֹנֶ֔ה דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי וְלֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ וַיַּעֲשׂ֤וּ הָרַע֙ בְּעֵינַ֔י וּבַאֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־חָפַ֖צְתִּי בָּחָֽרוּ׃ ס Isaiah Isa 66:4 Darum will ich auch erwählen, was ihnen wehe tut; und was sie scheuen, will ich über sie kommen lassen, darum daß ich rief, und niemand antwortete, daß ich redete, und sie hörten nicht und taten, was mir übel gefiel, und erwählten, was mir nicht gefiel.(dhs) Isa 66:4 So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:5 ============ Isa 66:5 Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: "Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name's sake, Have said, 'Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy.'But they will be put to shame.(nas) Isa 66:5 ἀκούσατε τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου οἱ τρέμοντες τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ εἴπατε ἀδελφοὶ ἡμῶν τοῖς μισοῦσιν ἡμᾶς καὶ βδελυσσομένοις ἵνα τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου δοξασθῇ καὶ ὀφθῇ ἐν τῇ εὐφροσύνῃ αὐτῶν κἀκεῖνοι αἰσχυνθήσονται (lxx) Isa 66:5 Audite verbum Domini, qui tremitis ad verbum ejus. Dixerunt fratres vestri odientes vos, et abjicientes propter nomen meum: Glorificetur Dominus, et videbimus in lætitia vestra; ipsi autem confundentur.(vulgate) 5 ׃66 שִׁמְעוּ֙ דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה הַחֲרֵדִ֖ים אֶל־דְּבָר֑וֹ אָמְרוּ֩ אֲחֵיכֶ֨ם שֹׂנְאֵיכֶ֜ם מְנַדֵּיכֶ֗ם לְמַ֤עַן שְׁמִי֙ יִכְבַּ֣ד יְהוָ֔ה וְנִרְאֶ֥ה בְשִׂמְחַתְכֶ֖ם וְהֵ֥ם יֵבֹֽשׁוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 66:5 Höret des HERRN Wort, die ihr euch fürchtet vor seinem Wort: Eure Brüder, die euch hassen und sondern euch ab um meines Namens willen, sprechen: "Laßt sehen, wie herrlich der HERR sei, laßt ihn erscheinen zu eurer Freude"; die sollen zu Schanden werden.(dhs) Isa 66:5 Hear the word of the Lord, You who tremble at His word: "Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name's sake, said, 'Let the Lord be glorified, That we may see your joy.' But they shall be ashamed."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:6 ============ Isa 66:6 "A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of the Lord who is rendering recompense to His enemies.(nas) Isa 66:6 φωνὴ κραυγῆς ἐκ πόλεως φωνὴ ἐκ ναοῦ φωνὴ κυρίου ἀνταποδιδόντος ἀνταπόδοσιν τοῖς ἀντικειμένοις (lxx) Isa 66:6 Vox populi de civitate, vox de templo, vox Domini reddentis retributionem inimicis suis.(vulgate) 6 ׃66 ק֤וֹל שָׁאוֹן֙ מֵעִ֔יר ק֖וֹל מֵֽהֵיכָ֑ל ק֣וֹל יְהוָ֔ה מְשַׁלֵּ֥ם גְּמ֖וּל לְאֹיְבָֽיו׃ Isaiah Isa 66:6 Man wird hören eine Stimme des Getümmels in der Stadt, eine Stimme vom Tempel, eine Stimme des HERRN, der seinen Feinden bezahlt.(dhs) Isa 66:6 The sound of noise from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, Who fully repays His enemies!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:7 ============ Isa 66:7 "Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy.(nas) Isa 66:7 πρὶν ἢ τὴν ὠδίνουσαν τεκεῖν πρὶν ἐλθεῖν τὸν πόνον τῶν ὠδίνων ἐξέφυγεν καὶ ἔτεκεν ἄρσεν (lxx) Isa 66:7 Antequam parturiret, peperit; antequam veniret partus ejus, peperit masculum.(vulgate) 7 ׃66 בְּטֶ֥רֶם תָּחִ֖יל יָלָ֑דָה בְּטֶ֨רֶם יָב֥וֹא חֵ֛בֶל לָ֖הּ וְהִמְלִ֥יטָה זָכָֽר׃ Isaiah Isa 66:7 Sie gebiert, ehe ihr wehe wird; sie ist genesen eines Knaben, ehe denn ihre Kindsnot kommt.(dhs) Isa 66:7 "Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:8 ============ Isa 66:8 "Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.(nas) Isa 66:8 τίς ἤκουσεν τοιοῦτο καὶ τίς ἑώρακεν οὕτως ἦ ὤδινεν γῆ ἐν μιᾷ ἡμέρᾳ ἢ καὶ ἐτέχθη ἔθνος εἰς ἅπαξ ὅτι ὤδινεν καὶ ἔτεκεν Σιων τὰ παιδία αὐτῆς (lxx) Isa 66:8 Quis audivit umquam tale? et quis vidit huic simile? numquid parturiet terra in die una, aut parietur gens simul, quia parturivit et peperit Sion filios suos?(vulgate) 8 ׃66 מִֽי־שָׁמַ֣ע כָּזֹ֗את מִ֤י רָאָה֙ כָּאֵ֔לֶּה הֲי֤וּחַל אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּי֣וֹם אֶחָ֔ד אִם־יִוָּ֥לֵֽד גּ֖וֹי פַּ֣עַם אֶחָ֑ת כִּֽי־חָ֛לָה גַּם־יָלְדָ֥ה צִיּ֖וֹן אֶת־בָּנֶֽיהָ׃ Isaiah Isa 66:8 Wer hat solches je gehört? wer hat solches je gesehen? Kann auch, ehe denn ein Land die Wehen kriegt, ein Volk auf einmal geboren werden? Nun hat doch ja Zion ihre Kinder ohne Wehen geboren.(dhs) Isa 66:8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:9 ============ Isa 66:9 "Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?" says the Lord." Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?" says your God.(nas) Isa 66:9 ἐγὼ δὲ ἔδωκα τὴν προσδοκίαν ταύτην καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθης μου εἶπεν κύριος οὐκ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ γεννῶσαν καὶ στεῖραν ἐποίησα εἶπεν ὁ θεός (lxx) Isa 66:9 Numquid ego qui alios parere facio, ipse non pariam? dicit Dominus. Si ego, qui generationem ceteris tribuo, sterilis ero? ait Dominus Deus tuus.(vulgate) 9 ׃66 הַאֲנִ֥י אַשְׁבִּ֛יר וְלֹ֥א אוֹלִ֖יד יֹאמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אִם־אֲנִ֧י הַמּוֹלִ֛יד וְעָצַ֖רְתִּי אָמַ֥ר אֱלֹהָֽיִךְ׃ ס Isaiah Isa 66:9 Sollte ich das Kind lassen die Mutter brechen und nicht auch lassen geboren werden? spricht der HERR. Sollte ich, der gebären läßt, verschließen? spricht dein Gott.(dhs) Isa 66:9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?" says the Lord. "Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?" says your God.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:10 ============ Isa 66:10 "Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her; Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her,(nas) Isa 66:10 εὐφράνθητι Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πανηγυρίσατε ἐν αὐτῇ πάντες οἱ ἀγαπῶντες αὐτήν χάρητε χαρᾷ πάντες ὅσοι πενθεῖτε ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς (lxx) Isa 66:10 Lætamini cum Jerusalem et exsultate in ea, omnes qui diligitis eam; gaudete cum ea gaudio, universi qui lugetis super eam:(vulgate) 10 ׃66 שִׂמְח֧וּ אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם וְגִ֥ילוּ בָ֖הּ כָּל־אֹהֲבֶ֑יהָ שִׂ֤ישׂוּ אִתָּהּ֙ מָשׂ֔וֹשׂ כָּל־הַמִּֽתְאַבְּלִ֖ים עָלֶֽיהָ׃ Isaiah Isa 66:10 Freuet euch mit Jerusalem und seid fröhlich über sie, alle, die ihr sie liebhabt; freuet euch mit ihr, alle, die ihr hier über sie traurig gewesen seid!(dhs) Isa 66:10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, And be glad with her, all you who love her; Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:11 ============ Isa 66:11 That you may nurse and be satisfied with her comforting breasts, That you may suck and be delighted with her bountiful bosom."(nas) Isa 66:11 ἵνα θηλάσητε καὶ ἐμπλησθῆτε ἀπὸ μαστοῦ παρακλήσεως αὐτῆς ἵνα ἐκθηλάσαντες τρυφήσητε ἀπὸ εἰσόδου δόξης αὐτῆς (lxx) Isa 66:11 ut sugatis et repleamini ab ubere consolationis ejus; ut mulgeatis et deliciis affluatis ab omnimoda gloria ejus.(vulgate) 11 ׃66 לְמַ֤עַן תִּֽינְקוּ֙ וּשְׂבַעְתֶּ֔ם מִשֹּׁ֖ד תַּנְחֻמֶ֑יהָ לְמַ֧עַן תָּמֹ֛צּוּ וְהִתְעַנַּגְתֶּ֖ם מִזִּ֥יז כְּבוֹדָֽהּ׃ ס Isaiah Isa 66:11 Denn dafür sollt ihr saugen und satt werden von den Brüsten ihres Trostes; ihr sollt dafür saugen und euch ergötzen an der Fülle ihrer Herrlichkeit.(dhs) Isa 66:11 That you may feed and be satisfied With the consolation of her bosom, That you may drink deeply and be delighted With the abundance of her glory."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:12 ============ Isa 66:12 For thus says the Lord, "Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees.(nas) Isa 66:12 ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκκλίνω εἰς αὐτοὺς ὡς ποταμὸς εἰρήνης καὶ ὡς χειμάρρους ἐπικλύζων δόξαν ἐθνῶν τὰ παιδία αὐτῶν ἐπ᾽ ὤμων ἀρθήσονται καὶ ἐπὶ γονάτων παρακληθήσονται (lxx) Isa 66:12 Quia hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce ego declinabo super eam quasi fluvium pacis, et quasi torrentem inundantem gloriam gentium, quam sugetis: ad ubera portabimini, et super genua blandientur vobis.(vulgate) 12 ׃66 כִּֽי־כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה הִנְנִ֣י נֹטֶֽה־אֵ֠לֶיהָ כְּנָהָ֨ר שָׁל֜וֹם וּכְנַ֧חַל שׁוֹטֵ֛ף כְּב֥וֹד גּוֹיִ֖ם וִֽינַקְתֶּ֑ם עַל־צַד֙ תִּנָּשֵׂ֔אוּ וְעַל־בִּרְכַּ֖יִם תְּשָׁעֳשָֽׁעוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 66:12 Denn also spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich breite aus den Frieden bei ihr wie einen Strom und die Herrlichkeit der Heiden wie einen ergossenen Bach; da werdet ihr saugen. Ihr sollt auf dem Arme getragen werden, und auf den Knieen wird man euch freundlich halten.(dhs) Isa 66:12 For thus says the Lord: "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried, And be dandled on her knees.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:13 ============ Isa 66:13 "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem."(nas) Isa 66:13 ὡς εἴ τινα μήτηρ παρακαλέσει οὕτως καὶ ἐγὼ παρακαλέσω ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ παρακληθήσεσθε (lxx) Isa 66:13 Quomodo si cui mater blandiatur, ita ego consolabor vos, et in Jerusalem consolabimini.(vulgate) 13 ׃66 כְּאִ֕ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִמּ֖וֹ תְּנַחֲמֶ֑נּוּ כֵּ֤ן אָֽנֹכִי֙ אֲנַ֣חֶמְכֶ֔ם וּבִירֽוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם תְּנֻחָֽמוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 66:13 Ich will euch trösten, wie einen seine Mutter tröstet; ja, ihr sollt an Jerusalem ergötzt werden.(dhs) Isa 66:13 As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 66:14 ============ Isa 66:14 Then you will see this, and your heart will be glad, And your bones will flourish like the new grass; And the hand of the Lord will be made known to His servants, But He will be indignant toward His enemies.(nas) Isa 66:14 καὶ ὄψεσθε καὶ χαρήσεται ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ ὑμῶν ὡς βοτάνη ἀνατελεῖ καὶ γνωσθήσεται ἡ χεὶρ κυρίου τοῖς σεβομένοις αὐτόν καὶ ἀπειλήσει τοῖς ἀπειθοῦσιν (lxx) Isa 66:14 Videbitis, et gaudebit cor vestrum, et ossa vestra quasi herba germinabunt: et cognoscetur manus Domini servis ejus, et indignabitur inimicis suis.(vulgate) 14 ׃66 וּרְאִיתֶם֙ וְשָׂ֣שׂ לִבְּכֶ֔ם וְעַצְמוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם כַּדֶּ֣שֶׁא תִפְרַ֑חְנָה וְנוֹדְעָ֤ה יַד־יְהוָה֙ אֶת־עֲבָדָ֔יו וְזָעַ֖ם אֶת־אֹיְבָֽיו׃ Isaiah Isa 66:14 Ihr werdet's sehen, und euer Herz wird sich freuen, und euer Gebein soll grünen wie Gras. And they will declare My glory among the nations.(nas) Isa 66:19 καὶ καταλείψω ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν σημεῖα καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ ἐξ αὐτῶν σεσῳσμένους εἰς τὰ ἔθνη εἰς Θαρσις καὶ Φουδ καὶ Λουδ καὶ Μοσοχ καὶ Θοβελ καὶ εἰς τὴν Ἑλλάδα καὶ εἰς τὰς νήσους τὰς πόρρω οἳ οὐκ ἀκηκόασίν μου τὸ ὄνομα οὐδὲ ἑωράκασιν τὴν δόξαν μου καὶ ἀναγγελοῦσίν μου τὴν δόξαν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν (lxx) Isa 66:19 Et ponam in eis signum, et mittam ex eis qui salvati fuerint, ad gentes in mare, in Africam, et Lydiam, tendentes sagittam; in Italiam et Græciam, ad insulas longe, ad eos qui non audierunt de me, et non viderunt gloriam meam.
