And if you will put away your detested things from My presence, And will not waver,(nas) Jer 4:1 ἐὰν ἐπιστραφῇ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος πρός με ἐπιστραφήσεται ἐὰν περιέλῃ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτοῦ ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου μου εὐλαβηθῇ (lxx) Jer 4:1 [Si reverteris, Israël, ait Dominus, ad me convertere: si abstuleris offendicula tua a facie mea, non commoveberis.(vulgate) 1 ׃4 אִם־תָּשׁ֨וּב יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל ׀ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י תָּשׁ֑וּב וְאִם־תָּסִ֧יר שִׁקּוּצֶ֛יךָ מִפָּנַ֖י וְלֹ֥א תָנֽוּד׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:1 Willst du dich, Israel, bekehren, spricht der HERR, so bekehre dich zu mir. Und so du deine Greuel wegtust von meinem Angesicht, so sollst du nicht vertrieben werden.(dhs) Jer 4:1 "If you will return, O Israel," says the Lord, "Return to Me; And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, Then you shall not be moved.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:2 ============ Jer 4:2 And you will swear, 'As the Lord lives, 'In truth, in justice and in righteousness; Then the nations will bless themselves in Him, And in Him they will glory."(nas) Jer 4:2 καὶ ὀμόσῃ ζῇ κύριος μετὰ ἀληθείας καὶ ἐν κρίσει καὶ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ εὐλογήσουσιν ἐν αὐτῇ ἔθνη καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ αἰνέσουσιν τῷ θεῷ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Jer 4:2 Et jurabis: Vivit Dominus in veritate, et in judicio, et in justitia: et benedicent eum gentes, ipsumque laudabunt.(vulgate) 2 ׃4 וְנִשְׁבַּ֙עְתָּ֙ חַי־יְהוָ֔ה בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת בְּמְשְׁפָּ֣ט וּבִצְדָקָ֑ה וְהִתְבָּ֥רְכוּ ב֛וֹ גּוֹיִ֖ם וּב֥וֹ יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 4:2 Alsdann wirst du ohne Heuchelei recht und heilig schwören: So wahr der HERR lebt! und die Heiden werden in ihm gesegnet werden und sich sein rühmen.(dhs) Jer 4:2 And you shall swear, 'The Lord lives,' In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; The nations shall bless themselves in Him, And in Him they shall glory."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:3 ============ Jer 4:3 For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem," Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns.(nas) Jer 4:3 ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος τοῖς ἀνδράσιν Ιουδα καὶ τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν Ιερουσαλημ νεώσατε ἑαυτοῖς νεώματα καὶ μὴ σπείρητε ἐπ᾽ ἀκάνθαις (lxx) Jer 4:3 Hæc enim dicit Dominus viro Juda et Jerusalem: Novate vobis novale, et nolite serere super spinas.(vulgate) 3 ׃4 כִּי־כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה לְאִ֤ישׁ יְהוּדָה֙ וְלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם נִ֥ירוּ לָכֶ֖ם נִ֑יר וְאַֽל־תִּזְרְע֖וּ אֶל־קוֹצִֽים׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:3 Denn so spricht der HERR zu denen in Juda und zu Jerusalem: Pflügt ein Neues und säet nicht unter die Hecken.(dhs) Jer 4:3 For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: "Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:4 ============ Jer 4:4 "Circumcise yourselves to the Lord And remove the foreskins of your heart, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Or else My wrath will go forth like fire And burn with none to quench it, Because of the evil of your deeds."(nas) Jer 4:4 περιτμήθητε τῷ θεῷ ὑμῶν καὶ περιτέμεσθε τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἄνδρες Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ μὴ ἐξέλθῃ ὡς πῦρ ὁ θυμός μου καὶ ἐκκαυθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ σβέσων ἀπὸ προσώπου πονηρίας ἐπιτηδευμάτων ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 4:4 Circumcidimini Domino, et auferte præputia cordium vestrorum, viri Juda, et habitatores Jerusalem: ne forte egrediatur ut ignis indignatio mea, et succendatur, et non sit qui extinguat, propter malitiam cogitationum vestrarum.]~(vulgate) 4 ׃4 הִמֹּ֣לוּ לַיהֹוָ֗ה וְהָסִ֙רוּ֙ עָרְל֣וֹת לְבַבְכֶ֔ם אִ֥ישׁ יְהוּדָ֖ה וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם פֶּן־תֵּצֵ֨א כָאֵ֜שׁ חֲמָתִ֗י וּבָעֲרָה֙ וְאֵ֣ין מְכַבֶּ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י רֹ֥עַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:4 Beschneidet euch dem HERRN und tut weg die Vorhaut eures Herzens, ihr Männer in Juda und ihr Leute zu Jerusalem, auf daß nicht mein Grimm ausfahre wie Feuer und brenne, daß niemand löschen könne, um eurer Bosheit willen.(dhs) Jer 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, And take away the foreskins of your hearts, You men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My fury come forth like fire, And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:5 ============ Jer 4:5 Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, "Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry aloud and say, 'Assemble yourselves, and let us go Into the fortified cities.'(nas) Jer 4:5 ἀναγγείλατε ἐν τῷ Ιουδα καὶ ἀκουσθήτω ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εἴπατε σημάνατε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σάλπιγγι καὶ κεκράξατε μέγα εἴπατε συνάχθητε καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς τειχήρεις (lxx) Jer 4:5 [Annuntiate in Juda, et in Jerusalem auditum facite: loquimini, et canite tuba in terra, clamate fortiter, et dicite: Congregamini, et ingrediamur civitates munitas.(vulgate) 5 ׃4 הַגִּ֣ידוּ בִֽיהוּדָ֗ה וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ הַשְׁמִ֔יעוּ וְאִמְר֕וּ *ותקעו **תִּקְע֥וּ שׁוֹפָ֖ר בָּאָ֑רֶץ קִרְא֤וּ מַלְאוּ֙ וְאִמְר֔וּ הֵאָסְפ֥וּ וְנָב֖וֹאָה אֶל־עָרֵ֥י הַמִּבְצָֽר׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:5 Verkündiget in Juda und schreiet laut zu Jerusalem und sprecht: "Blaset die Drommete im Lande!" Ruft mit voller Stimme und sprecht: "Sammelt euch und laßt uns in die festen Städte ziehen!"(dhs) Jer 4:5 Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say: "Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry, 'Gather together,' And say, 'Assemble yourselves, And let us go into the fortified cities.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:6 ============ Jer 4:6 "Lift up a standard toward Zion! Seek refuge, do not stand still, For I am bringing evil from the north, And great destruction.(nas) Jer 4:6 ἀναλαβόντες φεύγετε εἰς Σιων σπεύσατε μὴ στῆτε ὅτι κακὰ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ συντριβὴν μεγάλην (lxx) Jer 4:6 Levate signum in Sion; confortamini, nolite stare: quia malum ego adduco ab aquilone, et contritionem magnam.(vulgate) 6 ׃4 שְׂאוּ־נֵ֣ס צִיּ֔וֹנָה הָעִ֖יזוּ אַֽל־תַּעֲמֹ֑דוּ כִּ֣י רָעָ֗ה אָנֹכִ֛י מֵבִ֥יא מִצָּפ֖וֹן וְשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּדֽוֹל׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:6 Werft zu Zion ein Panier auf; flieht und säumt nicht! Denn ich bringe ein Unglück herzu von Mitternacht und einen großen Jammer.(dhs) Jer 4:6 Set up the standard toward Zion. Take refuge! Do not delay! For I will bring disaster from the north, And great destruction."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:7 ============ Jer 4:7 "A lion has gone up from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has set out; He has gone out from his place To make your land a waste. Your cities will be ruins Without inhabitant.(nas) Jer 4:7 ἀνέβη λέων ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας αὐτοῦ ἐξολεθρεύων ἔθνη ἐξῆρεν καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ τοῦ θεῖναι τὴν γῆν εἰς ἐρήμωσιν καὶ πόλεις καθαιρεθήσονται παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικεῖσθαι αὐτάς (lxx) Jer 4:7 Ascendit leo de cubili suo, et prædo gentium se levavit: egressus est de loco suo ut ponat terram tuam in solitudinem: civitates tuæ vastabuntur, remanentes absque habitatore.(vulgate) 7 ׃4 עָלָ֤ה אַרְיֵה֙ מִֽסֻבְּכ֔וֹ וּמַשְׁחִ֣ית גּוֹיִ֔ם נָסַ֖ע יָצָ֣א מִמְּקֹמ֑וֹ לָשׂ֤וּם אַרְצֵךְ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה עָרַ֥יִךְ תִּצֶּ֖ינָה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:7 Es fährt daher der Löwe aus seiner Hecke, und der Verstörer der Heiden zieht einher aus seinem Ort, daß er dein Land verwüste und deine Städte ausbrenne, daß niemand darin wohne.(dhs) Jer 4:7 The lion has come up from his thicket, And the destroyer of nations is on his way. He has gone forth from his place To make your land desolate. Your cities will be laid waste, Without inhabitant.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:8 ============ Jer 4:8 "For this, put on sackcloth, Lament and wail; For the fierce anger of the Lord Has not turned back from us."(nas) Jer 4:8 ἐπὶ τούτοις περιζώσασθε σάκκους καὶ κόπτεσθε καὶ ἀλαλάξατε διότι οὐκ ἀπεστράφη ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 4:8 Super hoc accingite vos ciliciis; plangite, et ululate: quia non est aversa ira furoris Domini a nobis.(vulgate) 8 ׃4 עַל־זֹ֛את חִגְר֥וּ שַׂקִּ֖ים סִפְד֣וּ וְהֵילִ֑ילוּ כִּ֥י לֹא־שָׁ֛ב חֲר֥וֹן אַף־יְהֹוָ֖ה מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 4:8 Darum ziehet Säcke an, klaget und heulet; denn der grimmige Zorn des HERRN will sich nicht wenden von uns.(dhs) Jer 4:8 For this, clothe yourself with sackcloth, Lament and wail. For the fierce anger of the Lord Has not turned back from us.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:9 ============ Jer 4:9 "It shall come about in that day," declares the Lord, "that the heart of the king and the heart of the princes will fail; and the priests will be appalled and the prophets will be astounded."(nas) Jer 4:9 καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριος ἀπολεῖται ἡ καρδία τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἡ καρδία τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐκστήσονται καὶ οἱ προφῆται θαυμάσονται (lxx) Jer 4:9 Et erit in die illa, dicit Dominus: peribit cor regis, et cor principum, et obstupescent sacerdotes, et prophetæ consternabuntur.](vulgate) 9 ׃4 וְהָיָ֤ה בַיּוֹם־הַהוּא֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה יֹאבַ֥ד לֵב־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְלֵ֣ב הַשָּׂרִ֑ים וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים וְהַנְּבִיאִ֖ים יִתְמָֽהוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:9 Zu der Zeit, spricht der HERR, wird dem König und den Fürsten das Herz entfallen; die Priester werden bestürzt und die Propheten erschrocken sein.(dhs) Jer 4:9 "And it shall come to pass in that day," says the Lord, "That the heart of the king shall perish, And the heart of the princes; The priests shall be astonished, And the prophets shall wonder."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:10 ============ Jer 4:10 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! Surely You have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, 'You will have peace'; whereas a sword touches the throat."(nas) Jer 4:10 καὶ εἶπα ὦ δέσποτα κύριε ἄρα γε ἀπατῶν ἠπάτησας τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ λέγων εἰρήνη ἔσται ὑμῖν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἥψατο ἡ μάχαιρα ἕως τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 4:10 Et dixi: [Heu! heu! heu! Domine Deus, ergone decepisti populum istum et Jerusalem, dicens: Pax erit vobis: et ecce pervenit gladius usque ad animam?](vulgate) 10 ׃4 וָאֹמַ֞ר אֲהָ֣הּ ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה אָכֵן֩ הַשֵּׁ֨א הִשֵּׁ֜אתָ לָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ וְלִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם לֵאמֹ֔ר שָׁל֖וֹם יִהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם וְנָגְעָ֥ה חֶ֖רֶב עַד־הַנָּֽפֶשׁ׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:10 Ich aber sprach: Ach HERR HERR! du hast's diesem Volk und Jerusalem weit fehlgehen lassen, da sie sagten: "Es wird Friede mit euch sein", so doch das Schwert bis an die Seele reicht.(dhs) Jer 4:10 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! Surely You have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, Saying, 'You shall have peace,' Whereas the sword reaches to the heart."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:11 ============ Jer 4:11 In that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem," A scorching wind from the bare heights in the wilderness in the direction of the daughter of My people - not to winnow and not to cleanse,(nas) Jer 4:11 ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἐροῦσιν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ καὶ τῇ Ιερουσαλημ πνεῦμα πλανήσεως ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὁδὸς τῆς θυγατρὸς τοῦ λαοῦ μου οὐκ εἰς καθαρὸν οὐδ᾽ εἰς ἅγιον (lxx) Jer 4:11 [In tempore illo dicetur populo huic et Jerusalem: Ventus urens in viis quæ sunt in deserto viæ filiæ populi mei, non ad ventilandum et ad purgandum.(vulgate) 11 ׃4 בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֗יא יֵאָמֵ֤ר לָֽעָם־הַזֶּה֙ וְלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם ר֣וּחַ צַ֤ח שְׁפָיִים֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר דֶּ֖רֶךְ בַּת־עַמִּ֑י ל֥וֹא לִזְר֖וֹת וְל֥וֹא לְהָבַֽר׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:11 Zu derselben Zeit wird man diesem Volk und Jerusalem sagen: "Es kommt ein dürrer Wind über das Gebirge her aus der Wüste, des Weges zu der Tochter meines Volks, nicht zum Worfeln noch zu Schwingen."(dhs) Jer 4:11 At that time it will be said To this people and to Jerusalem, "A dry wind of the desolate heights blows in the wilderness Toward the daughter of My people-- Not to fan or to cleanse--(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:12 ============ Jer 4:12 a wind too strong for this - will come at My command; now I will also pronounce judgments against them.(nas) Jer 4:12 πνεῦμα πληρώσεως ἥξει μοι νῦν δὲ ἐγὼ λαλῶ κρίματα πρὸς αὐτούς (lxx) Jer 4:12 Spiritus plenus ex his veniet mihi, et nunc ego loquar judicia mea cum eis.(vulgate) 12 ׃4 ר֧וּחַ מָלֵ֛א מֵאֵ֖לֶּה יָ֣בוֹא לִ֑י עַתָּ֕ה גַּם־אֲנִ֛י אֲדַבֵּ֥ר מִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים אוֹתָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:12 Ja, ein Wind kommt, der ihnen zu stark sein wird; da will ich denn auch mit ihnen rechten.(dhs) Jer 4:12 A wind too strong for these will come for Me; Now I will also speak judgment against them."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:13 ============ Jer 4:13 "Behold, he goes up like clouds, And his chariots like the whirlwind; His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!"(nas) Jer 4:13 ἰδοὺ ὡς νεφέλη ἀναβήσεται καὶ ὡς καταιγὶς τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ κουφότεροι ἀετῶν οἱ ἵπποι αὐτοῦ οὐαὶ ἡμῖν ὅτι ταλαιπωροῦμεν (lxx) Jer 4:13 Ecce quasi nubes ascendet, et quasi tempestas currus ejus: velociores aquilis equi illius. Væ nobis, quoniam vastati sumus.(vulgate) 13 ׃4 הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ כַּעֲנָנִ֣ים יַעֲלֶ֗ה וְכַסּוּפָה֙ מַרְכְּבוֹתָ֔יו קַלּ֥וּ מִנְּשָׁרִ֖ים סוּסָ֑יו א֥וֹי לָ֖נוּ כִּ֥י שֻׁדָּֽדְנוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:13 Siehe, er fährt daher wie Wolken, und seine Wagen sind wie Sturmwind, seine Rosse sind schneller denn Adler. Weh uns! wir müssen verstört werden."(dhs) Jer 4:13 "Behold, he shall come up like clouds, And his chariots like a whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are plundered!"(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:14 ============ Jer 4:14 Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, That you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts Lodge within you?(nas) Jer 4:14 ἀπόπλυνε ἀπὸ κακίας τὴν καρδίαν σου Ιερουσαλημ ἵνα σωθῇς ἕως πότε ὑπάρξουσιν ἐν σοὶ διαλογισμοὶ πόνων σου (lxx) Jer 4:14 Lava a malitia cor tuum, Jerusalem, ut salva fias: usquequo morabuntur in te cogitationes noxiæ?(vulgate) 14 ׃4 כַּבְּסִ֨י מֵרָעָ֤ה לִבֵּךְ֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לְמַ֖עַן תִּוָּשֵׁ֑עִי עַד־מָתַ֛י תָּלִ֥ין בְּקִרְבֵּ֖ךְ מַחְשְׁב֥וֹת אוֹנֵֽךְ׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:14 So wasche nun, Jerusalem, dein Herz von der Bosheit, auf daß dir geholfen werde. Wie lange wollen bei dir bleiben deine leidigen Gedanken?(dhs) Jer 4:14 O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:15 ============ Jer 4:15 For a voice declares from Dan, And proclaims wickedness from Mount Ephraim.(nas) Jer 4:15 διότι φωνὴ ἀναγγέλλοντος ἐκ Δαν ἥξει καὶ ἀκουσθήσεται πόνος ἐξ ὄρους Εφραιμ (lxx) Jer 4:15 Vox enim annuntiantis a Dan, et notum facientis idolum de monte Ephraim.(vulgate) 15 ׃4 כִּ֛י ק֥וֹל מַגִּ֖יד מִדָּ֑ן וּמַשְׁמִ֥יעַ אָ֖וֶן מֵהַ֥ר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ Jeremiah Jer 4:15 Denn es kommt ein Geschrei von Dan her und eine böse Botschaft vom Gebirge Ephraim.(dhs) Jer 4:15 For a voice declares from Dan And proclaims affliction from Mount Ephraim:(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 4:16 ============ Jer 4:16 "Report it to the nations, now!
