Today's Date: ======= Hosea 11:1 ============ Hos 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.(nas) Hos 11:1 διότι νήπιος Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγὼ ἠγάπησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου μετεκάλεσα τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 11:1 [Sicut mane transiit, pertransiit rex Israël. Quia puer Israël, et dilexi eum; et ex Ægypto vocavi filium meum.(vulgate) 1 ׃11 כִּ֛י נַ֥עַר יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וָאֹהֲבֵ֑הוּ וּמִמִּצְרַ֖יִם קָרָ֥אתִי לִבְנִֽי׃ Hosea Hos 11:1 Da Israel jung war, hatte ich ihn lieb und rief ihn, meinen Sohn, aus Ägypten.(dhs) Hos 11:1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:2 ============ Hos 11:2 The more they called them, The more they went from them; They kept sacrificing to the Baals And burning incense to idols.(nas) Hos 11:2 καθὼς μετεκάλεσα αὐτούς οὕτως ἀπῴχοντο ἐκ προσώπου μου αὐτοὶ τοῖς Βααλιμ ἔθυον καὶ τοῖς γλυπτοῖς ἐθυμίων (lxx) Hos 11:2 Vocaverunt eos, sic abierunt a facie eorum; Baalim immolabant, et simulacris sacrificabant.(vulgate) 2 ׃11 קָרְא֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם כֵּ֚ן הָלְכ֣וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם לַבְּעָלִ֣ים יְזַבֵּ֔חוּ וְלַפְּסִלִ֖ים יְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃ Hosea Hos 11:2 Aber wenn man sie jetzt ruft, so wenden sie sich davon und opfern den Baalim und räuchern den Bildern.(dhs) Hos 11:2 As they called them, So they went from them; They sacrificed to the Baals, And burned incense to carved images.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:3 ============ Hos 11:3 Yet it is I who taught Ephraim to walk, I took them in My arms; But they did not know that I healed them.(nas) Hos 11:3 καὶ ἐγὼ συνεπόδισα τὸν Εφραιμ ἀνέλαβον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν βραχίονά μου καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι ἴαμαι αὐτούς (lxx) Hos 11:3 Et ego quasi nutritius Ephraim: portabam eos in brachiis meis, et nescierunt quod curarem eos.(vulgate) 3 ׃11 וְאָנֹכִ֤י תִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙ לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם קָחָ֖ם עַל־זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑יו וְלֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּ כִּ֥י רְפָאתִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 11:3 Ich nahm Ephraim bei seinen Armen und leitete ihn; aber sie merkten es nicht, wie ich ihnen half.(dhs) Hos 11:3 "I taught Ephraim to walk, Taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:4 ============ Hos 11:4 I led them with cords of a man, with bonds of love, And I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws; And I bent down and fed them.(nas) Hos 11:4 ἐν διαφθορᾷ ἀνθρώπων ἐξέτεινα αὐτοὺς ἐν δεσμοῖς ἀγαπήσεώς μου καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς ὡς ῥαπίζων ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τὰς σιαγόνας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιβλέψομαι πρὸς αὐτόν δυνήσομαι αὐτῷ (lxx) Hos 11:4 In funiculis Adam traham eos, in vinculis caritatis; et ero eis quasi exaltans jugum super maxillas eorum, et declinavi ad eum ut vesceretur.(vulgate) 4 ׃11 בְּחַבְלֵ֨י אָדָ֤ם אֶמְשְׁכֵם֙ בַּעֲבֹת֣וֹת אַהֲבָ֔ה וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה לָהֶ֛ם כִּמְרִ֥ימֵי עֹ֖ל עַ֣ל לְחֵיהֶ֑ם וְאַ֥ט אֵלָ֖יו אוֹכִֽיל׃ Hosea Hos 11:4 Ich ließ sie ein menschlich Joch ziehen und in Seilen der Liebe gehen und half ihnen das Joch an ihrem Hals tragen und gab ihnen Futter.(dhs) Hos 11:4 I drew them with gentle cords, With bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:5 ============ Hos 11:5 They will not return to the land of Egypt; But Assyria--he will be their king Because they refused to return to Me.(nas) Hos 11:5 κατῴκησεν Εφραιμ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ Ασσουρ αὐτὸς βασιλεὺς αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἐπιστρέψαι (lxx) Hos 11:5 Non revertetur in terram Ægypti, et Assur ipse rex ejus, quoniam noluerunt converti.(vulgate) 5 ׃11 לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וְאַשּׁ֖וּר ה֣וּא מַלְכּ֑וֹ כִּ֥י מֵאֲנ֖וּ לָשֽׁוּב׃ Hosea Hos 11:5 Sie sollen nicht wieder nach Ägyptenland kommen, sondern Assur soll nun ihr König sein; denn sie wollen sich nicht bekehren.(dhs) Hos 11:5 "He shall not return to the land of Egypt; But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:6 ============ Hos 11:6 The sword will whirl against their cities, And will demolish their gate bars And consume them because of their counsels.(nas) Hos 11:6 καὶ ἠσθένησεν ῥομφαία ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ κατέπαυσεν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ φάγονται ἐκ τῶν διαβουλίων αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 11:6 Cœpit gladius in civitatibus ejus, et consumet electos ejus, et comedet capita eorum.(vulgate) 6 ׃11 וְחָלָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ בְּעָרָ֔יו וְכִלְּתָ֥ה בַדָּ֖יו וְאָכָ֑לָה מִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ Hosea Hos 11:6 Darum soll das Schwert über ihre Städte kommen und soll ihre Riegel aufreiben und fressen um ihres Vornehmens willen.(dhs) Hos 11:6 And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:7 ============ Hos 11:7 So My people are bent on turning from Me. Though they call them to the One on high, None at all exalts Him.(nas) Hos 11:7 καὶ ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἐπικρεμάμενος ἐκ τῆς κατοικίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τὰ τίμια αὐτοῦ θυμωθήσεται καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑψώσῃ αὐτόν (lxx) Hos 11:7 Et populus meus pendebit ad reditum meum; jugum autem imponetur eis simul, quod non auferetur.(vulgate) 7 ׃11 וְעַמִּ֥י תְלוּאִ֖ים לִמְשֽׁוּבָתִ֑י וְאֶל־עַל֙ יִקְרָאֻ֔הוּ יַ֖חַד לֹ֥א יְרוֹמֵם׃ Hosea Hos 11:7 Mein Volk ist müde, sich zu mir zu kehren; und wenn man ihnen predigt, so richtet sich keiner auf.(dhs) Hos 11:7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:8 ============ Hos 11:8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned over within Me, All My compassions are kindled.(nas) Hos 11:8 τί σε διαθῶ Εφραιμ ὑπερασπιῶ σου Ισραηλ τί σε διαθῶ ὡς Αδαμα θήσομαί σε καὶ ὡς Σεβωιμ μετεστράφη ἡ καρδία μου ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ συνεταράχθη ἡ μεταμέλειά μου (lxx) Hos 11:8 Quomodo dabo te, Ephraim? protegam te, Israël? Quomodo dabo te sicut Adama, ponam te ut Seboim? Conversum est in me cor meum, pariter conturbata est pœnitudo mea.(vulgate) 8 ׃11 אֵ֞יךְ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ אֶפְרַ֗יִם אֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵ֚יךְ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ כְאַדְמָ֔ה אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖ כִּצְבֹאיִ֑ם נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ עָלַי֙ לִבִּ֔י יַ֖חַד נִכְמְר֥וּ נִחוּמָֽי׃ Hosea Hos 11:8 Was soll ich aus dir machen, Ephraim? Soll ich dich schützen, Israel? Soll ich nicht billig ein Adama aus dir machen und dich wie Zeboim zurichten? Aber mein Herz ist andern Sinnes, meine Barmherzigkeit ist zu brünstig,(dhs) Hos 11:8 "How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:9 ============ Hos 11:9 I will not execute My fierce anger; I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God and not man, the Holy One in your midst, And I will not come in wrath.(nas) Hos 11:9 οὐ μὴ ποιήσω κατὰ τὴν ὀργὴν τοῦ θυμοῦ μου οὐ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπω τοῦ ἐξαλειφθῆναι τὸν Εφραιμ διότι θεὸς ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἄνθρωπος ἐν σοὶ ἅγιος καὶ οὐκ εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς πόλιν (lxx) Hos 11:9 Non faciam furorem iræ meæ; non convertar ut disperdam Ephraim, quoniam Deus ego, et non homo; in medio tui sanctus, et non ingrediar civitatem.(vulgate) 9 ׃11 לֹ֤א אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ חֲר֣וֹן אַפִּ֔י לֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב לְשַׁחֵ֣ת אֶפְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל אָֽנֹכִי֙ וְלֹא־אִ֔ישׁ בְּקִרְבְּךָ֣ קָד֔וֹשׁ וְלֹ֥א אָב֖וֹא בְּעִֽיר׃ Hosea Hos 11:9 daß ich nicht tun will nach meinem grimmigen Zorn, noch mich kehren, Ephraim gar zu verderben. Denn ich bin Gott und nicht ein Mensch und bin der Heilige unter dir; ich will aber nicht in die Stadt kommen.(dhs) Hos 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, The Holy One in your midst; And I will not come with terror.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:10 ============ Hos 11:10 They will walk after the Lord, He will roar like a lion; Indeed He will roar And His sons will come trembling from the west.(nas) Hos 11:10 ὀπίσω κυρίου πορεύσομαι ὡς λέων ἐρεύξεται ὅτι αὐτὸς ὠρύσεται καὶ ἐκστήσονται τέκνα ὑδάτων (lxx) Hos 11:10 Post Dominum ambulabunt; quasi leo rugiet, quia ipse rugiet, et formidabunt filii maris.(vulgate) 10 ׃11 אַחֲרֵ֧י יְהוָ֛ה יֵלְכ֖וּ כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה יִשְׁאָ֑ג כִּֽי־ה֣וּא יִשְׁאַ֔ג וְיֶחֶרְד֥וּ בָנִ֖ים מִיָּֽם׃ Hosea Hos 11:10 Alsdann wird man dem HERRN nachfolgen, und er wird brüllen wie ein Löwe; und wenn er wird brüllen, so werden erschrocken kommen die Kinder, so gegen Abend sind.(dhs) Hos 11:10 "They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion. When He roars, Then His sons shall come trembling from the west;(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:11 ============ Hos 11:11 They will come trembling like birds from Egypt And like doves from the land of Assyria; And I will settle them in their houses, declares the Lord.(nas) Hos 11:11 καὶ ἐκστήσονται ὡς ὄρνεον ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὡς περιστερὰ ἐκ γῆς Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἀποκαταστήσω αὐτοὺς εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν λέγει κύριος (lxx) Hos 11:11 Et avolabunt quasi avis ex Ægypto, et quasi columba de terra Assyriorum: et collocabo eos in domibus suis, dicit Dominus.]~(vulgate) 11 ׃11 יֶחֶרְד֤וּ כְצִפּוֹר֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם וּכְיוֹנָ֖ה מֵאֶ֣רֶץ אַשּׁ֑וּר וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥ים עַל־בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ ס Hosea Hos 11:11 Und die in Ägypten werden auch erschrocken kommen wie die Vögel, und die im Lande Assur wie Tauben; und ich will sie in ihre Häuser setzen, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Hos 11:11 They shall come trembling like a bird from Egypt, Like a dove from the land of Assyria. And I will let them dwell in their houses," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:12 ============ Hos 11:12 Ephraim surrounds Me with lies And the house of Israel with deceit; Judah is also unruly against God, Even against the Holy One who is faithful.(nas) Hos 11:12 ἐκύκλωσέν με ἐν ψεύδει Εφραιμ καὶ ἐν ἀσεβείαις οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα νῦν ἔγνω αὐτοὺς ὁ θεός καὶ λαὸς ἅγιος κεκλήσεται θεοῦ (lxx) Hos 11:12 [Circumdedit me in negatione Ephraim, et in dolo domus Israël; Judas autem testis descendit cum Deo, et cum sanctis fidelis.](vulgate) 1 ׃12 סְבָבֻ֤נִי בְכַ֙חַשׁ֙ אֶפְרַ֔יִם וּבְמִרְמָ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וִֽיהוּדָ֗ה עֹ֥ד רָד֙ עִם־אֵ֔ל וְעִם־קְדוֹשִׁ֖ים נֶאֱמָֽן׃ Hosea Hos 11:12 In Ephraim ist allenthalben Lügen wider mich und im Hause Israel falscher Gottesdienst.
