Today's Date: ======= Hosea 13:1 ============ Hos 13:1 When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling. He exalted himself in Israel, But through Baal he did wrong and died.(nas) Hos 13:1 κατὰ τὸν λόγον Εφραιμ δικαιώματα αὐτὸς ἔλαβεν ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ ἔθετο αὐτὰ τῇ Βααλ καὶ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) Hos 13:1 [Loquente Ephraim, horror invasit Israël; et deliquit in Baal, et mortuus est.(vulgate) 1 ׃13 כְּדַבֵּ֤ר אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ רְתֵ֔ת נָשָׂ֥א ה֖וּא בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֶּאְשַׁ֥ם בַּבַּ֖עַל וַיָּמֹֽת׃ Hosea Hos 13:1 Da Ephraim Schreckliches redete, ward er in Israel erhoben, darnach versündigten sie sich durch Baal und wurden darüber getötet.(dhs) Hos 13:1 When Ephraim spoke, trembling, He exalted himself in Israel; But when he offended through Baal worship, he died.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:2 ============ Hos 13:2 And now they sin more and more, And make for themselves molten images, Idols skillfully made from their silver, All of them the work of craftsmen. They say of them, "Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!"(nas) Hos 13:2 καὶ προσέθετο τοῦ ἁμαρτάνειν ἔτι καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς χώνευμα ἐκ τοῦ ἀργυρίου αὐτῶν κατ᾽ εἰκόνα εἰδώλων ἔργα τεκτόνων συντετελεσμένα αὐτοῖς αὐτοὶ λέγουσιν θύσατε ἀνθρώπους μόσχοι γὰρ ἐκλελοίπασιν (lxx) Hos 13:2 Et nunc addiderunt ad peccandum; feceruntque sibi conflatile de argento suo quasi similitudinem idolorum: factura artificum totum est: his ipsi dicunt: Immolate homines, vitulos adorantes.(vulgate) 2 ׃13 וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ יוֹסִ֣פוּ לַחֲטֹ֗א וַיַּעְשׂ֣וּ לָהֶם֩ מַסֵּכָ֨ה מִכַּסְפָּ֤ם כִּתְבוּנָם֙ עֲצַבִּ֔ים מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חָרָשִׁ֖ים כֻּלֹּ֑ה לָהֶם֙ הֵ֣ם אֹמְרִ֔ים זֹבְחֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם עֲגָלִ֖ים יִשָּׁקֽוּן׃ Hosea Hos 13:2 Aber nun machen sie der Sünden viel mehr und aus ihrem Silber Bilder, wie sie es erdenken können, nämlich Götzen, welche doch eitel Schmiedewerk sind. Dennoch predigen sie von denselben: Wer die Kälber küssen will, der soll Menschen opfern.(dhs) Hos 13:2 Now they sin more and more, And have made for themselves molded images, Idols of their silver, according to their skill; All of it is the work of craftsmen. They say of them, "Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!"(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:3 ============ Hos 13:3 Therefore they will be like the morning cloud And like dew which soon disappears, Like chaff which is blown away from the threshing floor And like smoke from a chimney.(nas) Hos 13:3 διὰ τοῦτο ἔσονται ὡς νεφέλη πρωινὴ καὶ ὡς δρόσος ὀρθρινὴ πορευομένη ὥσπερ χνοῦς ἀποφυσώμενος ἀφ᾽ ἅλωνος καὶ ὡς ἀτμὶς ἀπὸ ἀκρίδων (lxx) Hos 13:3 Idcirco erunt quasi nubes matutina, et sicut ros matutinus præteriens; sicut pulvis turbine raptus ex area, et sicut fumus de fumario.(vulgate) 3 ׃13 לָכֵ֗ן יִֽהְיוּ֙ כַּעֲנַן־בֹּ֔קֶר וְכַטַּ֖ל מַשְׁכִּ֣ים הֹלֵ֑ךְ כְּמֹץ֙ יְסֹעֵ֣ר מִגֹּ֔רֶן וּכְעָשָׁ֖ן מֵאֲרֻבָּֽה׃ Hosea Hos 13:3 Darum werden sie sein wie die Morgenwolke und wie der Tau, der frühmorgens vergeht; ja, wie die Spreu, die von der Tenne verweht wird, und wie der Rauch von dem Schornstein.(dhs) Hos 13:3 Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud And like the early dew that passes away, Like chaff blown off from a threshing floor And like smoke from a chimney.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:4 ============ Hos 13:4 Yet I have been the Lord your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me.(nas) Hos 13:4 ἐγὼ δὲ κύριος ὁ θεός σου στερεῶν οὐρανὸν καὶ κτίζων γῆν οὗ αἱ χεῖρες ἔκτισαν πᾶσαν τὴν στρατιὰν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ οὐ παρέδειξά σοι αὐτὰ τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω αὐτῶν καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνήγαγόν σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ θεὸν πλὴν ἐμοῦ οὐ γνώσῃ καὶ σῴζων οὐκ ἔστιν πάρεξ ἐμοῦ (lxx) Hos 13:4 Ego autem Dominus Deus tuus, ex terra Ægypti; et Deum absque me nescies, et salvator non est præter me.(vulgate) 4 ׃13 וְאָנֹכִ֛י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וֵאלֹהִ֤ים זֽוּלָתִי֙ לֹ֣א תֵדָ֔ע וּמוֹשִׁ֥יעַ אַ֖יִן בִּלְתִּֽי׃ Hosea Hos 13:4 Ich bin aber der HERR, dein Gott, aus Ägyptenland her; und du solltest ja keinen andern Gott kennen denn mich und keinen Heiland als allein mich.(dhs) Hos 13:4 "Yet I am the Lord your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no Savior besides Me.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:5 ============ Hos 13:5 I cared for you in the wilderness, In the land of drought.(nas) Hos 13:5 ἐγὼ ἐποίμαινόν σε ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν γῇ ἀοικήτῳ (lxx) Hos 13:5 Ego cognovi te in deserto, in terra solitudinis.(vulgate) 5 ׃13 אֲנִ֥י יְדַעְתִּ֖יךָ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ תַּלְאֻבֽוֹת׃ Hosea Hos 13:5 Ich nahm mich ja deiner an in der Wüste, im dürren Lande.(dhs) Hos 13:5 I knew you in the wilderness, In the land of great drought.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:6 ============ Hos 13:6 As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, And being satisfied, their heart became proud; Therefore they forgot Me.(nas) Hos 13:6 κατὰ τὰς νομὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθησαν εἰς πλησμονήν καὶ ὑψώθησαν αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν ἕνεκα τούτου ἐπελάθοντό μου (lxx) Hos 13:6 Juxta pascua sua adimpleti sunt et saturati sunt; et levaverunt cor suum, et obliti sunt mei.(vulgate) 6 ׃13 כְּמַרְעִיתָם֙ וַיִּשְׂבָּ֔עוּ שָׂבְע֖וּ וַיָּ֣רָם לִבָּ֑ם עַל־כֵּ֖ן שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃ Hosea Hos 13:6 Aber weil sie geweidet sind, daß sie satt geworden sind und genug haben, erhebt sich ihr Herz; darum vergessen sie mein.(dhs) Hos 13:6 When they had pasture, they were filled; They were filled and their heart was exalted; Therefore they forgot Me.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:7 ============ Hos 13:7 So I will be like a lion to them; Like a leopard I will lie in wait by the wayside.(nas) Hos 13:7 καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς ὡς πανθὴρ καὶ ὡς πάρδαλις κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν Ἀσσυρίων (lxx) Hos 13:7 Et ego ero eis quasi leæna, sicut pardus in via Assyriorum.(vulgate) 7 ׃13 וָאֱהִ֥י לָהֶ֖ם כְּמוֹ־שָׁ֑חַל כְּנָמֵ֖ר עַל־דֶּ֥רֶךְ אָשֽׁוּר׃ Hosea Hos 13:7 So will ich auch werden gegen sie wie ein Löwe, und wie ein Parder auf dem Wege will ich auf sie lauern.(dhs) Hos 13:7 "So I will be to them like a lion; Like a leopard by the road I will lurk;(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:8 ============ Hos 13:8 I will encounter them like a bear robbed of her cubs, And I will tear open their chests; There I will also devour them like a lioness, As a wild beast would tear them.(nas) Hos 13:8 ἀπαντήσομαι αὐτοῖς ὡς ἄρκος ἀπορουμένη καὶ διαρρήξω συγκλεισμὸν καρδίας αὐτῶν καὶ καταφάγονται αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ σκύμνοι δρυμοῦ θηρία ἀγροῦ διασπάσει αὐτούς (lxx) Hos 13:8 Occurram eis quasi ursa raptis catulis, et dirumpam interiora jecoris eorum, et consumam eos ibi quasi leo: bestia agri scindet eos.(vulgate) 8 ׃13 אֶפְגְּשֵׁם֙ כְּדֹ֣ב שַׁכּ֔וּל וְאֶקְרַ֖ע סְג֣וֹר לִבָּ֑ם וְאֹכְלֵ֥ם שָׁם֙ כְּלָבִ֔יא חַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה תְּבַקְּעֵֽם׃ Hosea Hos 13:8 Ich will ihnen begegnen wie ein Bär, dem seine Jungen genommen sind, und will ihr verstocktes Herz zerreißen und will sie daselbst wie ein Löwe fressen; die wilden Tiere sollen sie zerreißen.(dhs) Hos 13:8 I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs; I will tear open their rib cage, And there I will devour them like a lion. The wild beast shall tear them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:9 ============ Hos 13:9 It is your destruction, O Israel, That you are against Me, against your help.(nas) Hos 13:9 τῇ διαφθορᾷ σου Ισραηλ τίς βοηθήσει (lxx) Hos 13:9 Perditio tua, Israël: tantummodo in me auxilium tuum.(vulgate) 9 ׃13 שִֽׁחֶתְךָ֥ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כִּֽי־בִ֥י בְעֶזְרֶֽךָ׃ Hosea Hos 13:9 Israel, du bringst dich in Unglück; denn dein Heil steht allein bei mir.(dhs) Hos 13:9 "O Israel, you are destroyed, But your help is from Me.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:10 ============ Hos 13:10 Where now is your king That he may save you in all your cities, And your judges of whom you requested, "Give me a king and princes"?(nas) Hos 13:10 ποῦ ὁ βασιλεύς σου οὗτος καὶ διασωσάτω σε ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσίν σου κρινάτω σε ὃν εἶπας δός μοι βασιλέα καὶ ἄρχοντα (lxx) Hos 13:10 Ubi est rex tuus? maxime nunc salvet te in omnibus urbibus tuis; et judices tui, de quibus dixisti: Da mihi regem et principes.(vulgate) 10 ׃13 אֱהִ֤י מַלְכְּךָ֙ אֵפ֔וֹא וְיוֹשִֽׁיעֲךָ֖ בְּכָל־עָרֶ֑יךָ וְשֹׁ֣פְטֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתָּ תְּנָה־לִּ֖י מֶ֥לֶךְ וְשָׂרִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 13:10 Wo ist dein König hin, der dir helfen möge in allen deinen Städten? und deine Richter, von denen du sagtest: Gib mir Könige und Fürsten?(dhs) Hos 13:10 I will be your King; Where is any other, That he may save you in all your cities? And your judges to whom you said, 'Give me a king and princes'?(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:11 ============ Hos 13:11 I gave you a king in My anger And took him away in My wrath.(nas) Hos 13:11 καὶ ἔδωκά σοι βασιλέα ἐν ὀργῇ μου καὶ ἔσχον ἐν τῷ θυμῷ μου (lxx) Hos 13:11 Dabo tibi regem in furore meo, et auferam in indignatione mea.(vulgate) 11 ׃13 אֶֽתֶּן־לְךָ֥ מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ בְּאַפִּ֔י וְאֶקַּ֖ח בְּעֶבְרָתִֽי׃ ס Hosea Hos 13:11 Wohlan, ich gab dir einen König in meinem Zorn, und will ihn dir in meinem Grimm wegnehmen.(dhs) Hos 13:11 I gave you a king in My anger, And took him away in My wrath.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:12 ============ Hos 13:12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; His sin is stored up.(nas) Hos 13:12 συστροφὴν ἀδικίας Εφραιμ ἐγκεκρυμμένη ἡ ἁμαρτία αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 13:12 Colligata est iniquitas Ephraim; absconditum peccatum ejus.(vulgate) 12 ׃13 צָרוּר֙ עֲוֺ֣ן אֶפְרָ֔יִם צְפוּנָ֖ה חַטָּאתֽוֹ׃ Hosea Hos 13:12 Die Missetat Ephraims ist zusammengebunden, und seine Sünde ist behalten.(dhs) Hos 13:12 "The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; His sin is stored up.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:13 ============ Hos 13:13 The pains of childbirth come upon him; He is not a wise son, For it is not the time that he should delay at the opening of the womb.(nas) Hos 13:13 ὠδῖνες ὡς τικτούσης ἥξουσιν αὐτῷ οὗτος ὁ υἱός σου οὐ φρόνιμος διότι οὐ μὴ ὑποστῇ ἐν συντριβῇ τέκνων (lxx) Hos 13:13 Dolores parturientis venient ei: ipse filius non sapiens: nunc enim non stabit in contritione filiorum.(vulgate) 13 ׃13 חֶבְלֵ֥י יֽוֹלֵדָ֖ה יָבֹ֣אוּ ל֑וֹ הוּא־בֵן֙ לֹ֣א חָכָ֔ם כִּֽי־עֵ֥ת לֹֽא־יַעֲמֹ֖ד בְּמִשְׁבַּ֥ר בָּנִֽים׃ Hosea Hos 13:13 Denn es soll ihm wehe werden wie einer Gebärerin. Er ist ein unverständig Kind; denn wenn die Zeit gekommen ist, so will er die Mutter nicht brechen.(dhs) Hos 13:13 The sorrows of a woman in childbirth shall come upon him. He is an unwise son, For he should not stay long where children are born.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:14 ============ Hos 13:14 Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight.(nas) Hos 13:14 ἐκ χειρὸς ᾅδου ῥύσομαι αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐκ θανάτου λυτρώσομαι αὐτούς ποῦ ἡ δίκη σου θάνατε ποῦ τὸ κέντρον σου ᾅδη παράκλησις κέκρυπται ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν μου (lxx) Hos 13:14 De manu mortis liberabo eos; de morte redimam eos. Ero mors tua, o mors! morsus tuus ero, inferne! consolatio abscondita est ab oculis meis.(vulgate) 14 ׃13 מִיַּ֤ד שְׁאוֹל֙ אֶפְדֵּ֔ם מִמָּ֖וֶת אֶגְאָלֵ֑ם אֱהִ֨י דְבָרֶיךָ֜ מָ֗וֶת אֱהִ֤י קָֽטָבְךָ֙ שְׁא֔וֹל נֹ֖חַם יִסָּתֵ֥ר מֵעֵינָֽי׃ Hosea Hos 13:14 Aber ich will sie erlösen aus der Hölle und vom Tod erretten. Tod, ich will dir ein Gift sein; Hölle ich will dir eine Pestilenz sein. Doch ist der Trost vor meinen Augen verborgen.(dhs) Hos 13:14 "I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 13:15 ============ Hos 13:15 Though he flourishes among the reeds, An east wind will come, The wind of the Lord coming up from the wilderness; And his fountain will become dry And his spring will be dried up; It will plunder his treasury of every precious article.(nas) Hos 13:15 διότι οὗτος ἀνὰ μέσον ἀδελφῶν διαστελεῖ ἐπάξει ἄνεμον καύσωνα κύριος ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν καὶ ἀναξηρανεῖ τὰς φλέβας αὐτοῦ ἐξερημώσει τὰς πηγὰς αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς καταξηρανεῖ τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἐπιθυμητὰ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 13:15 Quia ipse inter fratres dividet: adducet urentem ventum Dominus de deserto ascendentem, et siccabit venas ejus, et desolabit fontem ejus: et ipse diripiet thesaurum omnis vasis desiderabilis.](vulgate) 15 ׃13 כִּ֣י ה֔וּא בֵּ֥ן אַחִ֖ים יַפְרִ֑יא יָב֣וֹא קָדִים֩ ר֨וּחַ יְהוָ֜ה מִמִּדְבָּ֣ר עֹלֶ֗ה וְיֵב֤וֹשׁ מְקוֹרוֹ֙ וְיֶחֱרַ֣ב מַעְיָנ֔וֹ ה֣וּא יִשְׁסֶ֔ה אוֹצַ֖ר כָּל־כְּלִ֥י חֶמְדָּֽה׃ Hosea Hos 13:15 Denn wenn er auch zwischen Brüdern Frucht bringt, so wird doch ein Ostwind des HERRN aus der Wüste herauffahren, daß sein Brunnen vertrocknet und seine Quelle versiegt; und er wird rauben den Schatz alles köstlichen Gerätes.(dhs) Hos 13:15 Though he is fruitful among his brethren, An east wind shall come; The wind of the Lord shall come up from the wilderness. They will fall by the sword, Their little ones will be dashed in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open.(nas) Hos 13:16 ἀφανισθήσεται Σαμάρεια ὅτι ἀντέστη πρὸς τὸν θεὸν αὐτῆς ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ πεσοῦνται αὐτοί καὶ τὰ ὑποτίτθια αὐτῶν ἐδαφισθήσονται καὶ αἱ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσαι αὐτῶν διαρραγήσονται (lxx) Hos 14:1 [Pereat Samaria, quoniam ad amaritudinem concitavit Deum suum! in gladio pereant, parvuli eorum elidantur, et fœtæ ejus discindantur!]~(vulgate) 1 ׃14 תֶּאְשַׁם֙ שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן כִּ֥י מָרְתָ֖ה בֵּֽאלֹהֶ֑יהָ בַּחֶ֣רֶב יִפֹּ֔לוּ עֹלְלֵיהֶ֣ם יְרֻטָּ֔שׁוּ וְהָרִיּוֹתָ֖יו יְבֻקָּֽעוּ׃ פ Hosea Hos 13:16 Samaria wird wüst werden, denn sie sind ihrem Gott ungehorsam; sie sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und ihre jungen Kinder zerschmettert und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerrissen werden.(dhs) Hos 13:16 Samaria is held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God.
