Today's Date: ======= Malachi 1:1 ============ Mal 1:1 The oracle of the word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi.(nas) Mal 1:1 λῆμμα λόγου κυρίου ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ ἐν χειρὶ ἀγγέλου αὐτοῦ θέσθε δὴ ἐπὶ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν (lxx) Mal 1:1 Onus verbi Domini ad Israël in manu Malachiæ.~(vulgate) 1 ׃1 מַשָּׂ֥א דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּיַ֖ד מַלְאָכִֽי׃ Malachi Mal 1:1 Dies ist die Last, die der HERR redet wider Israel durch Maleachi.(dhs) Mal 1:1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:2 ============ Mal 1:2 "I have loved you," says the Lord. But you say, "How have You loved us?" "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares the Lord." Yet I have loved Jacob;(nas) Mal 1:2 ἠγάπησα ὑμᾶς λέγει κύριος καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι ἠγάπησας ἡμᾶς οὐκ ἀδελφὸς ἦν Ησαυ τοῦ Ιακωβ λέγει κύριος καὶ ἠγάπησα τὸν Ιακωβ (lxx) Mal 1:2 Dilexi vos, dicit Dominus, et dixistis: In quo dilexisti nos? Nonne frater erat Esau Jacob? dicit Dominus: et dilexi Jacob,(vulgate) 2 ׃1 אָהַ֤בְתִּי אֶתְכֶם֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמָּ֣ה אֲהַבְתָּ֑נוּ הֲלוֹא־אָ֨ח עֵשָׂ֤ו לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה וָאֹהַ֖ב אֶֽת־יַעֲקֹֽב׃ Malachi Mal 1:2 Ich habe euch lieb, spricht der HERR. So sprecht ihr: "Womit hast du uns lieb?" Ist nicht Esau Jakobs Bruder? spricht der HERR; und doch habe ich Jakob lieb(dhs) Mal 1:2 "I have loved you," says the Lord. "Yet you say, 'In what way have You loved us?' Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" Says the Lord. "Yet Jacob I have loved;(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:3 ============ Mal 1:3 but I have hated Esau, and I have made his mountains a desolation and appointed his inheritance for the jackals of the wilderness."(nas) Mal 1:3 τὸν δὲ Ησαυ ἐμίσησα καὶ ἔταξα τὰ ὅρια αὐτοῦ εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ εἰς δόματα ἐρήμου (lxx) Mal 1:3 Esau autem odio habui, et posui montes ejus in solitudinem, et hæreditatem ejus in dracones deserti.(vulgate) 3 ׃1 וְאֶת־עֵשָׂ֖ו שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וָאָשִׂ֤ים אֶת־הָרָיו֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וְאֶת־נַחֲלָת֖וֹ לְתַנּ֥וֹת מִדְבָּֽר׃ Malachi Mal 1:3 und hasse Esau und habe sein Gebirge öde gemacht und sein Erbe den Schakalen zur Wüste.(dhs) Mal 1:3 But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness."(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:4 ============ Mal 1:4 Though Edom says, "We have been beaten down, but we will return and build up the ruins"; thus says the Lord of hosts, "They may build, but I will tear down; and men will call them the wicked territory, and the people toward whom the Lord is indignant forever."(nas) Mal 1:4 διότι ἐρεῖ ἡ Ιδουμαία κατέστραπται καὶ ἐπιστρέψωμεν καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσωμεν τὰς ἐρήμους τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ αὐτοὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν καὶ ἐγὼ καταστρέψω καὶ ἐπικληθήσεται αὐτοῖς ὅρια ἀνομίας καὶ λαὸς ἐφ᾽ ὃν παρατέτακται κύριος ἕως αἰῶνος (lxx) Mal 1:4 Quod si dixerit Idumæa: Destructi sumus, sed revertentes ædificabimus quæ destructa sunt: hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Isti ædificabunt, et ego destruam: et vocabuntur termini impietatis, et populus cui iratus est Dominus usque in æternum.(vulgate) 4 ׃1 כִּֽי־תֹאמַ֨ר אֱד֜וֹם רֻשַּׁ֗שְׁנוּ וְנָשׁוּב֙ וְנִבְנֶ֣ה חֳרָב֔וֹת כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הֵ֥מָּה יִבְנ֖וּ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶהֱר֑וֹס וְקָרְא֤וּ לָהֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל רִשְׁעָ֔ה וְהָעָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־זָעַ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:4 Und ob Edom sprechen würde: Wir sind verderbt, aber wir wollen das Wüste wieder erbauen! so spricht der HERR Zebaoth also: Werden sie bauen, so will ich abbrechen, und es soll heißen die verdammte Grenze und ein Volk, über das der HERR zürnt ewiglich.(dhs) Mal 1:4 Even though Edom has said, "We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places," Thus says the Lord of hosts: "They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:5 ============ Mal 1:5 Your eyes will see this and you will say, "The Lord be magnified beyond the border of Israel!"(nas) Mal 1:5 καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ὄψονται καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐρεῖτε ἐμεγαλύνθη κύριος ὑπεράνω τῶν ὁρίων τοῦ Ισραηλ (lxx) Mal 1:5 Et oculi vestri videbunt, et vos dicetis: Magnificetur Dominus super terminum Israël.~(vulgate) 5 ׃1 וְעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם תִּרְאֶ֑ינָה וְאַתֶּ֤ם תֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל לִגְב֥וּל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Malachi Mal 1:5 Das sollen eure Augen sehen, und ihr werdet sagen: Der HERR ist herrlich in den Grenzen Israels.(dhs) Mal 1:5 Your eyes shall see, And you shall say, 'The Lord is magnified beyond the border of Israel.'(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:6 ============ Mal 1:6 "'A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?' says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, 'How have we despised Your name?'(nas) Mal 1:6 υἱὸς δοξάζει πατέρα καὶ δοῦλος τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰ πατήρ εἰμι ἐγώ ποῦ ἐστιν ἡ δόξα μου καὶ εἰ κύριός εἰμι ἐγώ ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ φόβος μου λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ὑμεῖς οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ φαυλίζοντες τὸ ὄνομά μου καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι ἐφαυλίσαμεν τὸ ὄνομά σου (lxx) Mal 1:6 Filius honorat patrem, et servus dominum suum. Si ergo pater ego sum, ubi est honor meus? et si Dominus ego sum, ubi est timor meus? dicit Dominus exercituum. Ad vos, o sacerdotes, qui despicitis nomen meum, et dixistis: In quo despeximus nomen tuum?(vulgate) 6 ׃1 בֵּ֛ן יְכַבֵּ֥ד אָ֖ב וְעֶ֣בֶד אֲדֹנָ֑יו וְאִם־אָ֣ב אָ֣נִי אַיֵּ֣ה כְבוֹדִ֡י וְאִם־אֲדוֹנִ֣ים אָנִי֩ אַיֵּ֨ה מוֹרָאִ֜י אָמַ֣ר ׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת לָכֶם֙ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ בּוֹזֵ֣י שְׁמִ֔י וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם בַּמֶּ֥ה בָזִ֖ינוּ אֶת־שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ Malachi Mal 1:6 Ein Sohn soll seinen Vater ehren und ein Knecht seinen Herrn. Bin ich nun Vater, wo ist meine Ehre? bin ich HERR, wo fürchtet man mich? spricht der HERR Zebaoth zu euch Priestern, die meinen Namen verachten. So sprecht ihr: "Womit verachten wir deinen Namen?"(dhs) Mal 1:6 "A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, 'In what way have we despised Your name?'(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:7 ============ Mal 1:7 You are presenting defiled food upon My altar. But you say, 'How have we defiled You?' In that you say, 'The table of the Lord is to be despised.'(nas) Mal 1:7 προσάγοντες πρὸς τὸ θυσιαστήριόν μου ἄρτους ἠλισγημένους καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι ἠλισγήσαμεν αὐτούς ἐν τῷ λέγειν ὑμᾶς τράπεζα κυρίου ἐξουδενωμένη ἐστὶν καὶ τὰ ἐπιτιθέμενα βρώματα ἐξουδενωμένα (lxx) Mal 1:7 Offertis super altare meum panem pollutum, et dicitis: In quo polluimus te? in eo quod dicitis: Mensa Domini despecta est.(vulgate) 7 ׃1 מַגִּישִׁ֤ים עַֽל־מִזְבְּחִי֙ לֶ֣חֶם מְגֹאָ֔ל וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמֶּ֣ה גֵֽאַלְנ֑וּךָ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֕ם שֻׁלְחַ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה נִבְזֶ֥ה הֽוּא׃ Malachi Mal 1:7 Damit daß ihr opfert auf meinem Altar unreines Brot. So sprecht ihr: "Womit opfern wir dir Unreines?" damit daß ihr sagt: "Des HERRN Tisch ist verachtet."(dhs) Mal 1:7 "You offer defiled food on My altar. But say, 'In what way have we defiled You?' By saying, 'The table of the Lord is contemptible.'(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:8 ============ Mal 1:8 But when you present the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you present the lame and sick, is it not evil? Why not offer it to your governor? Would he be pleased with you? Or would he receive you kindly?" says the Lord of hosts.(nas) Mal 1:8 διότι ἐὰν προσαγάγητε τυφλὸν εἰς θυσίαν οὐ κακόν καὶ ἐὰν προσαγάγητε χωλὸν ἢ ἄρρωστον οὐ κακόν προσάγαγε δὴ αὐτὸ τῷ ἡγουμένῳ σου εἰ προσδέξεται αὐτό εἰ λήμψεται πρόσωπόν σου λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 1:8 Si offeratis cæcum ad immolandum, nonne malum est? et si offeratis claudum et languidum, nonne malum est? offer illud duci tuo, si placuerit ei, aut si susceperit faciem tuam, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) 8 ׃1 וְכִֽי־תַגִּשׁ֨וּן עִוֵּ֤ר לִזְבֹּ֙חַ֙ אֵ֣ין רָ֔ע וְכִ֥י תַגִּ֛ישׁוּ פִּסֵּ֥חַ וְחֹלֶ֖ה אֵ֣ין רָ֑ע הַקְרִיבֵ֨הוּ נָ֜א לְפֶחָתֶ֗ךָ הֲיִּרְצְךָ֙ א֚וֹ הֲיִשָּׂ֣א פָנֶ֔יךָ אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:8 Und wenn ihr ein blindes opfert, so muß es nicht böse heißen; und wenn ihr ein Lahmes oder Krankes opfert, so muß es auch nicht böse heißen. Bringe es deinem Fürsten! was gilt's, ob du ihm gefallen werdest, oder ob er deine Person ansehen werde? spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 1:8 And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?" Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:9 ============ Mal 1:9 "But now will you not entreat God's favor, that He may be gracious to us? With such an offering on your part, will He receive any of you kindly?" says the Lord of hosts.(nas) Mal 1:9 καὶ νῦν ἐξιλάσκεσθε τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ δεήθητε αὐτοῦ ἐν χερσὶν ὑμῶν γέγονεν ταῦτα εἰ λήμψομαι ἐξ ὑμῶν πρόσωπα ὑμῶν λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 1:9 Et nunc deprecamini vultum Dei ut misereatur vestri (de manu enim vestra factum est hoc), si quomodo suscipiat facies vestras, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) 9 ׃1 וְעַתָּ֛ה חַלּוּ־נָ֥א פְנֵי־אֵ֖ל וִֽיחָנֵ֑נוּ מִיֶּדְכֶם֙ הָ֣יְתָה זֹּ֔את הֲיִשָּׂ֤א מִכֶּם֙ פָּנִ֔ים אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:9 So bittet nun Gott, daß er uns gnädig sei! denn solches ist geschehen von euch. Meint ihr, er werde eure Person ansehen? spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 1:9 "But now entreat God's favor, That He may be gracious to us. While this is being done by your hands, Will He accept you favorably?" Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:10 ============ Mal 1:10 "Oh that there were one among you who would shut the gates, that you might not uselessly kindle fire on My altar! I am not pleased with you," says the Lord of hosts, "nor will I accept an offering from you.(nas) Mal 1:10 διότι καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν συγκλεισθήσονται θύραι καὶ οὐκ ἀνάψετε τὸ θυσιαστήριόν μου δωρεάν οὐκ ἔστιν μου θέλημα ἐν ὑμῖν λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ θυσίαν οὐ προσδέξομαι ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν (lxx) Mal 1:10 Quis est in vobis qui claudat ostia, et incendat altare meum gratuito? non est mihi voluntas in vobis, dicit Dominus exercituum, et munus non suscipiam de manu vestra.(vulgate) 10 ׃1 מִ֤י גַם־בָּכֶם֙ וְיִסְגֹּ֣ר דְּלָתַ֔יִם וְלֹֽא־תָאִ֥ירוּ מִזְבְּחִ֖י חִנָּ֑ם אֵֽין־לִ֨י חֵ֜פֶץ בָּכֶ֗ם אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּמִנְחָ֖ה לֹֽא־אֶרְצֶ֥ה מִיֶּדְכֶֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:10 Daß doch einer unter euch die Türen zuschlösse, damit ihr nicht umsonst auf meinem Altar Feuer anzündet! Ich habe kein Gefallen an euch, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, und das Speisopfer von euren Händen ist mir nicht angenehm.(dhs) Mal 1:10 "Who is there even among you who would shut the doors, So that you would not kindle fire on My altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you," Says the Lord of hosts, "Nor will I accept an offering from your hands.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:11 ============ Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations," says the Lord of hosts.(nas) Mal 1:11 διότι ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου ἕως δυσμῶν τὸ ὄνομά μου δεδόξασται ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ θυμίαμα προσάγεται τῷ ὀνόματί μου καὶ θυσία καθαρά διότι μέγα τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 1:11 Ab ortu enim solis usque ad occasum, magnum est nomen meum in gentibus, et in omni loco sacrificatur: et offertur nomini meo oblatio munda, quia magnum est nomen meum in gentibus, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) 11 ׃1 כִּ֣י מִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁ֜מֶשׁ וְעַד־מְבוֹא֗וֹ גָּד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וּבְכָל־מָק֗וֹם מֻקְטָ֥ר מֻגָּ֛שׁ לִשְׁמִ֖י וּמִנְחָ֣ה טְהוֹרָ֑ה כִּֽי־גָד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ Malachi Mal 1:11 Aber von Aufgang der Sonne bis zum Niedergang soll mein Name herrlich werden unter den Heiden, und an allen Orten soll meinem Namen geräuchert werden und ein reines Speisopfer geopfert werden; denn mein Name soll herrlich werden unter den Heiden, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; For My name shall be great among the nations," Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:12 ============ Mal 1:12 "But you are profaning it, in that you say, 'The table of the Lord is defiled, and as for its fruit, its food is to be despised.'(nas) Mal 1:12 ὑμεῖς δὲ βεβηλοῦτε αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ λέγειν ὑμᾶς τράπεζα κυρίου ἠλισγημένη ἐστίν καὶ τὰ ἐπιτιθέμενα ἐξουδένωνται βρώματα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Mal 1:12 Et vos polluistis illud in eo quod dicitis: Mensa Domini contaminata est, et quod superponitur contemptibilis est, cum igne qui illud devorat.(vulgate) 12 ׃1 וְאַתֶּ֖ם מְחַלְּלִ֣ים אוֹת֑וֹ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם שֻׁלְחַ֤ן אֲדֹנָי֙ מְגֹאָ֣ל ה֔וּא וְנִיב֖וֹ נִבְזֶ֥ה אָכְלֽוֹ׃ Malachi Mal 1:12 Ihr aber entheiligt ihn damit, daß ihr sagt: "Des HERR Tisch ist unheilig, und sein Opfer ist verachtet samt seiner Speise."(dhs) Mal 1:12 "But you profane it, In that you say, 'The table of the Lord is defiled; And its fruit, its food, is contemptible.'(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:13 ============ Mal 1:13 You also say, 'My, how tiresome it is!' And you disdainfully sniff at it," says the Lord of hosts, "and you bring what was taken by robbery and what is lame or sick; so you bring the offering! Should I receive that from your hand?" says the Lord.(nas) Mal 1:13 καὶ εἴπατε ταῦτα ἐκ κακοπαθείας ἐστίν καὶ ἐξεφύσησα αὐτὰ λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ εἰσεφέρετε ἁρπάγματα καὶ τὰ χωλὰ καὶ τὰ ἐνοχλούμενα καὶ ἐὰν φέρητε τὴν θυσίαν εἰ προσδέξομαι αὐτὰ ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ (lxx) Mal 1:13 Et dixistis: Ecce de labore, et exsufflastis illud, dicit Dominus exercituum: et intulistis de rapinis claudum et languidum, et intulistis munus: numquid suscipiam illud de manu vestra? dicit Dominus.(vulgate) 13 ׃1 וַאֲמַרְתֶּם֩ הִנֵּ֨ה מַתְּלָאָ֜ה וְהִפַּחְתֶּ֣ם אוֹת֗וֹ אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וַהֲבֵאתֶ֣ם גָּז֗וּל וְאֶת־הַפִּסֵּ֙חַ֙ וְאֶת־הַ֣חוֹלֶ֔ה וַהֲבֵאתֶ֖ם אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֑ה הַאֶרְצֶ֥ה אוֹתָ֛הּ מִיֶּדְכֶ֖ם אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ ס Malachi Mal 1:13 Und ihr sprecht: "Siehe, es ist nur Mühe!" und schlagt es in den Wind, spricht der HERR Zebaoth. Und ihr bringt her, was geraubt, lahm und krank ist, und opfert dann Speisopfer. Sollte mir solches gefallen von eurer Hand? spricht der HERR.(dhs) Mal 1:13 You also say, 'Oh, what a weariness!' And you sneer at it," Says the Lord of hosts. "And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; Thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?" Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Malachi 1:14 ============ Mal 1:14 "But cursed be the swindler who has a male in his flock and vows it, but sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord, for I am a great King," says the Lord of hosts, "and My name is feared among the nations."(nas) Mal 1:14 καὶ ἐπικατάρατος ὃς ἦν δυνατὸς καὶ ὑπῆρχεν ἐν τῷ ποιμνίῳ αὐτοῦ ἄρσεν καὶ εὐχὴ αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ καὶ θύει διεφθαρμένον τῷ κυρίῳ διότι βασιλεὺς μέγας ἐγώ εἰμι λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπιφανὲς ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν (lxx) Mal 1:14 Maledictus dolosus qui habet in grege suo masculum, et votum faciens immolat debile Domino: quia rex magnus ego, dicit Dominus exercituum, et nomen meum horribile in gentibus.(vulgate) 14 ׃1 וְאָר֣וּר נוֹכֵ֗ל וְיֵ֤שׁ בְּעֶדְרוֹ֙ זָכָ֔ר וְנֹדֵ֛ר וְזֹבֵ֥חַ מָשְׁחָ֖ת לַֽאדֹנָ֑י כִּי֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ גָּד֜וֹל אָ֗נִי אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּשְׁמִ֖י נוֹרָ֥א בַגּוֹיִֽם׃ Malachi Mal 1:14 Verflucht sei der Betrüger, der in seiner Herde ein Männlein hat, und wenn er ein Gelübde tut, opfert er dem HERR ein untüchtiges.
