(Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:2 sub principibus sacerdotum Anna et Caipha: factum est verbum Domini super Joannem, Zachariæ filium, in deserto.(vulgate) וּבִהְיוֹת חָנָן וְקַיָּפָא הַכֹּהֲנִים הַגְּדוֹלִים הָיֹה הָיָה דְבַר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־יוֹחָנָן בֶּן־זְכַרְיָהוּ בַּמִּדְבָּר׃ ב Luke Luk 3:2 da Hannas und Kaiphas Hohepriester waren: da geschah der Befehl Gottes zu Johannes, des Zacharias Sohn, in der Wüste.(dhs) Luk 3:2 while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:3 ============ Luk 3:3 And he came into all the district around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins;(nas) Luk 3:3 καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς πᾶσαν [τὴν] περίχωρον τοῦ ἰορδάνου κηρύσσων βάπτισμα μετανοίας εἰς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν, (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:3 Et venit in omnem regionem Jordanis, prædicans baptismum pœnitentiæ in remissionem peccatorum,(vulgate) וַיָּבֹא אֶל־כָּל־כִּכַּר הַיַּרְדֵּן וַיִּקְרָא אֶל־הָעָם לָשׁוּב מִדַּרְכָּם וּלְהִטָּבֵל לִסְלִיחַת עֲוֹנָם׃ ג Luke Luk 3:3 Und er kam in alle Gegend um den Jordan und predigte die Taufe der Buße zur Vergebung Sünden,(dhs) Luk 3:3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins,(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:4 ============ Luk 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, 'MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT.(nas) Luk 3:4 ὡς γέγραπται ἐν βίβλῳ λόγων ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου, φωνὴ βοῶντος ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου, εὐθείας ποιεῖτε τὰς τρίβους αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:4 sicut scriptum est in libro sermonum Isaiæ prophetæ: [Vox clamantis in deserto: Parate viam Domini; rectas facite semitas ejus:(vulgate) כַּכָּתוּב בְּסֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא קוֹל קֹרֵא בַּמִּדְבָּר פַּנּוּ דֶּרֶךְ יְהוָֹה יַשְּׁרוּ מְסִלּותָיו׃ ד Luke Luk 3:4 wie geschrieben steht in dem Buch der Reden Jesaja's, des Propheten, der da sagt: "Es ist eine Stimme eines Predigers in der Wüste: Bereitet den Weg des HERRN und macht seine Steige richtig!(dhs) Luk 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:5 ============ Luk 3:5 'EVERY RAVINE WILL BE FILLED, AND EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL WILL BE BROUGHT LOW; THE CROOKED WILL BECOME STRAIGHT, AND THE ROUGH ROADS SMOOTH;(nas) Luk 3:5 πᾶσα φάραγξ πληρωθήσεται καὶ πᾶν ὄρος καὶ βουνὸς ταπεινωθήσεται, καὶ ἔσται τὰ σκολιὰ εἰς εὐθείαν καὶ αἱ τραχεῖαι εἰς ὁδοὺς λείας· (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:5 omnis vallis implebitur, et omnis mons, et collis humiliabitur: et erunt prava in directa, et aspera in vias planas:(vulgate) כָּל־גֶּיא יִנָּשֵׂא וְכָל־הַר וְגִבְעָה יִשְׁפָּלוּ וְהָיָה הֶעָקֹב לְמִשׁוֹר וְהָרְכָסִים לְבִקְעָה׃ ה Luke Luk 3:5 Alle Täler sollen voll werden, und alle Berge und Hügel erniedrigt werden; und was krumm ist, soll richtig werden, und was uneben ist, soll schlichter Weg werden.(dhs) Luk 3:5 Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth;(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:6 ============ Luk 3:6 AND ALL FLESH WILL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD.'"(nas) Luk 3:6 καὶ ὄψεται πᾶσα σὰρξ τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ. "(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:7 ============ Luk 3:7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?(nas) Luk 3:7 ἔλεγεν οὗν τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ὄχλοις βαπτισθῆναι ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ, γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, τίς ὑπέδειξεν ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἀπὸ τῆς μελλούσης ὀργῆς; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:7 Dicebat ergo ad turbas quæ exibant ut baptizarentur ab ipso: Genimina viperarum, quis ostendit vobis fugere a ventura ira?(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הֲמוֹן הָעָם אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ אֵלָיו לְהִטָּבֵל יַלְדֵי צִפְעֹנִים מִי הוֹרָה אֶתְכֶם לְהִמָּלֵט עַל־נַפְשְׁכֶם מִפְּנֵי חֲרוֹן אַף הַבָּא׃ ז Luke Luk 3:7 Da sprach er zu dem Volk, das hinausging, daß sich von ihm Taufen ließe: Ihr Otterngezüchte, wer hat denn euch gewiesen, daß ihr dem zukünftigen Zorn entrinnen werdet?(dhs) Luk 3:7 Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:8 ============ Luk 3:8 Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham.(nas) Luk 3:8 ποιήσατε οὗν καρποὺς ἀξίους τῆς μετανοίας· καὶ μὴ ἄρξησθε λέγειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς, πατέρα ἔχομεν τὸν ἀβραάμ, λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι δύναται ὁ θεὸς ἐκ τῶν λίθων τούτων ἐγεῖραι τέκνα τῶ ἀβραάμ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:8 Facite ergo fructus dignos pœnitentiæ, et ne cœperitis dicere: Patrem habemus Abraham. Dico enim vobis quia potens est Deus de lapidibus istis suscitare filios Abrahæ.(vulgate) לָכֵן עֲשׂוּ פְרִי־טוֹב לִתְשׁוּבָה וְאַל־תֶּהְגוּ בִלְבַבְכֶם לֵאמֹר אַבְרָהָם לָנוּ לְאָב כִּי אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם גַּם מִן־אֲבָנִים אֵלֶּה תַּשִּׂיג יַד־אֱלֹהִים לְהָקִים בָּנִים לְאַבְרָהָם׃ ח Luke Luk 3:8 Sehet zu, tut rechtschaffene Früchte der Buße und nehmt euch nicht vor, zu sagen: Wir haben Abraham zum Vater. Denn ich sage euch: Gott kann dem Abraham aus diesen Steinen Kinder erwecken.(dhs) Luk 3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:9 ============ Luk 3:9 Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."(nas) Luk 3:9 ἤδη δὲ καὶ ἡ ἀξίνη πρὸς τὴν ῥίζαν τῶν δένδρων κεῖται· πᾶν οὗν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:9 Jam enim securis ad radicem arborum posita est. Omnis ergo arbor non faciens fructum bonum, excidetur, et in ignem mittetur.(vulgate) וְגַם־כְּבָר נָטוּי הַגַּרְזֶן עַל־שֹׁרֶשׁ הָעֵצִים וְלָכֵן כָּל־עֵץ אֲשֶׁר לֹא יַעֲשֶׂה פְרִי־טוֹב יִגָּדַע וְהָשְׁלַךְ בְּמוֹ־אֵשׁ׃ ט Luke Luk 3:9 Es ist schon die Axt den Bäumen an die Wurzel gelegt; welcher Baum nicht gute Frucht bringt, wird abgehauen und in das Feuer geworfen.(dhs) Luk 3:9 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:10 ============ Luk 3:10 And the crowds were questioning him, saying, "Then what shall we do?"(nas) Luk 3:10 καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν οἱ ὄχλοι λέγοντες, τί οὗν ποιήσωμεν; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:10 Et interrogabant eum turbæ, dicentes: Quid ergo faciemus?(vulgate) וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אֹתוֹ הֲמוֹן הָעָם לֵאמֹר וּמַה לָנוּ לַעֲשׂוֹת׃ י Luke Luk 3:10 Und das Volk fragte ihn und sprach: Was sollen wir denn tun?(dhs) Luk 3:10 So the people asked him, saying, "What shall we do then?"(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:11 ============ Luk 3:11 And he would answer and say to them," The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise."(nas) Luk 3:11 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, ὁ ἔχων δύο χιτῶνας μεταδότω τῶ μὴ ἔχοντι, καὶ ὁ ἔχων βρώματα ὁμοίως ποιείτω. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:11 Respondens autem dicebat illis: Qui habet duas tunicas, det non habenti: et qui habet escas, similiter faciat.(vulgate) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם מִי אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ כֻּתֳּנוֹת שְׁתַּיִם יַחֲלֹק עִם־הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אֵין־לוֹ וּמִי אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ מָזוֹן יַעֲשֶׂה כְמוֹ־כֵן׃ יא Luke Luk 3:11 Er antwortete aber und sprach zu ihnen: Wer zwei Röcke hat, der gebe dem, der keinen hat; und wer Speise hat, der tue auch also.(dhs) Luk 3:11 He answered and said to them, "He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise."(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:12 ============ Luk 3:12 And some tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?"(nas) Luk 3:12 ἦλθον δὲ καὶ τελῶναι βαπτισθῆναι καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν, διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσωμεν; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:12 Venerunt autem et publicani ut baptizarentur, et dixerunt ad illum: Magister, quid faciemus?(vulgate) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֵלָיו גַּם־מוֹכְסִים לִטְבִילָתוֹ וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו רַבֵּנוּ מַה־נַּעֲשֶׂה׃ יב Luke Luk 3:12 Es kamen auch die Zöllner, daß sie sich taufen ließen, und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, was sollen denn wir tun?(dhs) Luk 3:12 Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?"(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:13 ============ Luk 3:13 And he said to them, "Collect no more than what you have been ordered to."(nas) Luk 3:13 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, μηδὲν πλέον παρὰ τὸ διατεταγμένον ὑμῖν πράσσετε. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:13 At ille dixit ad eos: Nihil amplius, quam quod constitutum est vobis, faciatis.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם יֶתֶר עַל־מֶכֶס הַנָּקוּב לָכֶם אַל־תִּנְגֹּשׂוּ׃ יג Luke Luk 3:13 Er sprach zu ihnen: Fordert nicht mehr, denn gesetzt ist.(dhs) Luk 3:13 And he said to them, "Collect no more than what is appointed for you."(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:14 ============ Luk 3:14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, "And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages."(nas) Luk 3:14 ἐπηρώτων δὲ αὐτὸν καὶ στρατευόμενοι λέγοντες, τί ποιήσωμεν καὶ ἡμεῖς; καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, μηδένα διασείσητε μηδὲ συκοφαντήσητε, καὶ ἀρκεῖσθε τοῖς ὀψωνίοις ὑμῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:14 Interrogabant autem eum et milites, dicentes: Quid faciemus et nos? Et ait illis: Neminem concutiatis, neque calumniam faciatis: et contenti estote stipendiis vestris.(vulgate) וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אֹתוֹ גַּם־אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא לֵאמֹר וַאֲנַחְנוּ מַה־נַּעֲשֶׂה וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אַל־תַּעַשְׁקוּ וְאַל־תּוֹנוּ אִישׁ וְדַי לָכֶם כִּי תַשִּׂיגוּ שְׂכַרְכֶם׃ יד Luke Luk 3:14 Da fragten ihn auch die Kriegsleute und sprachen: Was sollen denn wir tun? Und er sprach zu ihnen: Tut niemand Gewalt noch Unrecht und laßt euch genügen an eurem Solde.(dhs) Luk 3:14 Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, "And what shall we do?" So he said to them, "Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages."(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:15 ============ Luk 3:15 Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,(nas) Luk 3:15 προσδοκῶντος δὲ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ διαλογιζομένων πάντων ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν περὶ τοῦ ἰωάννου, μήποτε αὐτὸς εἴη ὁ χριστός, (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:15 Existimante autem populo, et cogitantibus omnibus in cordibus suis de Joanne, ne forte ipse esset Christus,(vulgate) וּבְעוֹד הָעָם הָיוּ מְחַכִּים וְכֻלָּם דֹּבְרִים בְּלִבָּם אִם לֹא יוֹחָנָן הוּא הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ טו Luke Luk 3:15 Als aber das Volk im Wahn war und dachten in ihren Herzen von Johannes, ob er vielleicht Christus wäre,(dhs) Luk 3:15 Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not,(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:16 ============ Luk 3:16 John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.(nas) Luk 3:16 ἀπεκρίνατο λέγων πᾶσιν ὁ ἰωάννης, ἐγὼ μὲν ὕδατι βαπτίζω ὑμᾶς· ἔρχεται δὲ ὁ ἰσχυρότερός μου, οὖ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς λῦσαι τὸν ἱμάντα τῶν ὑποδημάτων αὐτοῦ· αὐτὸς ὑμᾶς βαπτίσει ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ καὶ πυρί· (Nestle-Aland) Luk 3:16 respondit Joannes, dicens omnibus: Ego quidem aqua baptizo vos: veniet autem fortior me, cujus non sum dignus solvere corrigiam calceamentorum ejus: ipse vos baptizabit in Spiritu Sancto et igni:(vulgate) וַיַּעַן יוֹחָנָן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הֶן־אֲנִי מְטַבֵּל אֶתְכֶם בַּמָּיִם אַךְ בֹּא יָבֹא חָסֹן מִמֶּנִּי אֲשֶׁר קָטֹנְתִּי מֵהַתֵּר אֶת־שְׂרוֹךְ נְעָלָיו וְהוּא יְטַבֵּל אֶתְכֶם בְּרוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ וּבָאֵשׁ׃ טז Luke Luk 3:16 antwortete Johannes und sprach zu allen: Ich taufe euch mit Wasser; es kommt aber ein Stärkerer nach mir, dem ich nicht genugsam bin, daß ich die Riemen seiner Schuhe auflöse; der wird euch mit dem heiligen Geist und mit Feuer taufen.(dhs) Luk 3:16 John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.(nkjv) ======= Luke 3:17 ============ Luk 3:17 His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."(nas) Luk 3:17 οὖ τὸ πτύον ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ διακαθᾶραι τὴν ἅλωνα αὐτοῦ καὶ συναγαγεῖν τὸν σῖτον εἰς τὴν ἀποθήκην αὐτοῦ, τὸ δὲ ἄχυρον κατακαύσει πυρὶ ἀσβέστῳ.
