Today's Date: ======= Luke 7:1 ============ Luk 7:1 When He had completed all His discourse in the hearing of the people, He went to Capernaum.(nas) Luk 7:1 ἐπειδὴ ἐπλήρωσεν πάντα τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰς ἀκοὰς τοῦ λαοῦ, εἰσῆλθεν εἰς καφαρναούμ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:1 Cum autem implesset omnia verba sua in aures plebis, intravit Capharnaum.(vulgate) כְּכַלֹּתוֹ לְדַבֵּר אֶת־דְּבָרָיו בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וַיָּבֹא אֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּם׃ א Luke Luk 7:1 Nachdem er aber vor dem Volk ausgeredet hatte, ging er gen Kapernaum.(dhs) Luk 7:1 Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:2 ============ Luk 7:2 And a centurion's slave, who was highly regarded by him, was sick and about to die.(nas) Luk 7:2 ἑκατοντάρχου δέ τινος δοῦλος κακῶς ἔχων ἤμελλεν τελευτᾶν, ὃς ἦν αὐτῶ ἔντιμος. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:2 Centurionis autem cujusdam servus male habens, erat moriturus: qui illi erat pretiosus.(vulgate) וְשָׁם עֶבֶד לְשַׂר־מֵאָה אֶחָד חָלָה לָמוּת וְהוּא יָקָר הָיָה בְּעֵינָיו עַד־מְאֹד׃ ב Luke Luk 7:2 Und eines Hauptmanns Knecht lag todkrank, den er wert hielt.(dhs) Luk 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:3 ============ Luk 7:3 When he heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders asking Him to come and save the life of his slave.(nas) Luk 7:3 ἀκούσας δὲ περὶ τοῦ ἰησοῦ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν πρεσβυτέρους τῶν ἰουδαίων, ἐρωτῶν αὐτὸν ὅπως ἐλθὼν διασώσῃ τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:3 Et cum audisset de Jesu, misit ad eum seniores Judæorum, rogans eum ut veniret et salvaret servum ejus.(vulgate) וּבְשָׁמְעוֹ אֶת־שֵׁמַע יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּשְׁלַח אֵלָיו מִקְצוֹת זִקְנֵי הַיְּהוּדִים לְבַקְשׁוֹ לָבֹא וּלְרַפֵּא אֶת־עַבְדּוֹ׃ ג Luke Luk 7:3 Da er aber von Jesu hörte, sandte er die Ältesten der Juden zu ihm und bat ihn, daß er käme und seinen Knecht gesund machte.(dhs) Luk 7:3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:4 ============ Luk 7:4 When they came to Jesus, they earnestly implored Him, saying, "He is worthy for You to grant this to him;(nas) Luk 7:4 οἱ δὲ παραγενόμενοι πρὸς τὸν ἰησοῦν παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν σπουδαίως, λέγοντες ὅτι ἄξιός ἐστιν ᾧ παρέξῃ τοῦτο, (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:4 At illi cum venissent ad Jesum, rogabant eum sollicite, dicentes ei: Quia dignus est ut hoc illi præstes:(vulgate) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּפְצְרוּ־בוֹ לֵאמֹר כִּי יָאֳתָה לּוֹ לְמַלֵּא אֶת־בַּקָּשָׁתוֹ׃ ד Luke Luk 7:4 Da sie aber zu Jesu kamen, baten sie ihn mit Fleiß und sprachen: Er ist es wert, daß du ihm das erzeigest;(dhs) Luk 7:4 And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:5 ============ Luk 7:5 for he loves our nation and it was he who built us our synagogue."(nas) Luk 7:5 ἀγαπᾷ γὰρ τὸ ἔθνος ἡμῶν καὶ τὴν συναγωγὴν αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν ἡμῖν. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:5 diligit enim gentem nostram, et synagogam ipse ædificavit nobis.(vulgate) כִּי אֹהֵב הוּא לְעַמֵּנוּ וּבֵית־הַכְּנֵסֶת בָּנָה־לָנוּ׃ ה Luke Luk 7:5 denn er hat unser Volk lieb, und die Schule hat er uns erbaut.(dhs) Luk 7:5 "for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:6 ============ Luk 7:6 Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof;(nas) Luk 7:6 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἐπορεύετο σὺν αὐτοῖς. ἤδη δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐ μακρὰν ἀπέχοντος ἀπὸ τῆς οἰκίας ἔπεμψεν φίλους ὁ ἑκατοντάρχης λέγων αὐτῶ, κύριε, μὴ σκύλλου, οὐ γὰρ ἱκανός εἰμι ἵνα ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην μου εἰσέλθῃς· (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:6 Jesus autem ibat cum illis. Et cum jam non longe esset a domo, misit ad eum centurio amicos, dicens: Domine, noli vexari: non enim sum dignus ut sub tectum meum intres:(vulgate) וַיֶּלֶךְ אִתָּם יֵשׁוּעַ וְכַאֲשֶׁר הִקְרִיב אֶל־הַבַּיִת וְרֶוַח לֹא רָחוֹק בֵּינֵיהֶם וַיִּשְׁלַח לוֹ שַׂר־הַמֵּאָה רֵעִים לֵאמֹר אֲדֹנִי אַל־תַּלְאֶה אֶת־נַפְשְׁךָ נְקַלֹּתִי מִזֹּאת כִּי אַתָּה תָבֹא בְּצֵל קֹרָתִי׃ ו Luke Luk 7:6 Jesus aber ging mit ihnen hin. Da sie aber nun nicht ferne von dem Hause waren, sandte der Hauptmann Freunde zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Ach HERR, bemühe dich nicht; ich bin nicht wert, daß du unter mein Dach gehest;(dhs) Luk 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:7 ============ Luk 7:7 for this reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.(nas) Luk 7:7 διὸ οὐδὲ ἐμαυτὸν ἠξίωσα πρὸς σὲ ἐλθεῖν· ἀλλὰ εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήτω ὁ παῖς μου. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:7 propter quod et meipsum non sum dignum arbitratus ut venirem ad te: sed dic verbo, et sanabitur puer meus.(vulgate) וּבַעֲבוּר זֹאת לֹא נֶחְשְׁבָה נַפְשִׁי בְּעֵינַי לָבֹא לְפָנֶיךָ אַךְ תְּנָה אֹמֶר וְנַעֲרִי יֶחִי׃ ז Luke Luk 7:7 darum habe ich auch mich selbst nicht würdig geachtet, daß ich zu dir käme; sondern sprich ein Wort, so wird mein Knecht gesund.(dhs) Luk 7:7 Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:8 ============ Luk 7:8 For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another, 'Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it."(nas) Luk 7:8 καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν τασσόμενος, ἔχων ὑπ᾽ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ, πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ, ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῶ δούλῳ μου, ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:8 Nam et ego homo sum sub potestate constitutus, habens sub me milites: et dico huic, Vade, et vadit: et alii, Veni, et venit: et servo meo, Fac hoc, et facit.(vulgate) כִּי גַּם־אָנֹכִי עֹמֵד תַּחַת יַד מֶמְשָׁלָה וְאַנְשֵׁי צָבָא תַּחַת יָדִי וְכִי אֹמַר לְאֶחָד מֵהֶם לֵךְ וְיֵלֵךְ וּלְאַחֵר בֹּא וְיָבֹא וּלְעַבְדִּי עֲשֵׂה־זֹאת וְיַעֲשֶׂה׃ ח Luke Luk 7:8 Denn auch ich bin ein Mensch, der Obrigkeit untertan, und habe Kriegsknechte unter mir und spreche zu einem: Gehe hin! so geht er hin; und zum andern: Komm her! so kommt er; und zu meinem Knecht: Tu das! so tut er's.(dhs) Luk 7:8 For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:9 Quo audito Jesus miratus est: et conversus sequentibus se turbis, dixit: Amen dico vobis, nec in Israël tantam fidem inveni.(vulgate) וַיִּשְׁמַע יֵשׁוּעַ אֶת־דְּבָרָיו וַיִּשְׁתָּאֶה וַיִּפֶן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הָעָם הַהֹלֵךְ אַחֲרָיו הִנְנִי מַגִּיד לָכֶם אֱמוּנָה גְּדוֹלָה כָמוֹהָ גַּם־בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא־מָצָאתִי׃ ט Luke Luk 7:9 Da aber Jesus das hörte, verwunderte er sich über ihn und wandte sich um und sprach zu dem Volk, das ihm nachfolgte: Ich sage euch: Solchen Glauben habe ich in Israel nicht gefunden!(dhs) Luk 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:10 ============ Luk 7:10 When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.(nas) Luk 7:10 καὶ ὑποστρέψαντες εἰς τὸν οἶκον οἱ πεμφθέντες εὖρον τὸν δοῦλον ὑγιαίνοντα. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:10 Et reversi, qui missi fuerant, domum, invenerunt servum, qui languerat, sanum.~(vulgate) וַיָּשׁוּבוּ הַשְּׁלוּחִים אֶל־הַבָּיִת וַיִּמְצְאוּ כִּי נִרְפָּא הָעֶבֶד הַחֹלֶה׃ י Luke Luk 7:10 Und da die Gesandten wiederum nach Hause kamen, fanden sie den kranken Knecht gesund.(dhs) Luk 7:10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:11 ============ Luk 7:11 Soon afterwards He went to a city called Nain; and His disciples were going along with Him, accompanied by a large crowd.(nas) Luk 7:11 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῶ ἑξῆς ἐπορεύθη εἰς πόλιν καλουμένην ναΐν, καὶ συνεπορεύοντο αὐτῶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὄχλος πολύς. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:11 Et factum est: deinceps ibat in civitatem quæ vocatur Naim: et ibant cum eo discipuli ejus et turba copiosa.(vulgate) וַיְהִי מִמָּחָרָת וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־עִיר וּשְׁמָהּ נָעִין וְתַלְמִידָיו הָלְכוּ אַחֲרָיו וַהֲמוֹן עַם־רָב׃ יא Luke Luk 7:11 Und es begab sich darnach, daß er in eine Stadt mit Namen Nain ging; und seiner Jünger gingen viele mit ihm und viel Volks.(dhs) Luk 7:11 Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:12 ============ Luk 7:12 Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her.(nas) Luk 7:12 ὡς δὲ ἤγγισεν τῇ πύλῃ τῆς πόλεως, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐξεκομίζετο τεθνηκὼς μονογενὴς υἱὸς τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ αὐτὴ ἦν χήρα, καὶ ὄχλος τῆς πόλεως ἱκανὸς ἦν σὺν αὐτῇ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:12 Cum autem appropinquaret portæ civitatis, ecce defunctus efferebatur filius unicus matris suæ: et hæc vidua erat: et turba civitatis multa cum illa.(vulgate) וְכַאֲשֶׁר קָרַב אֶל־שַׁעַר הָעִיר וְהִנֵּה אֲנָשִׁים מוֹצִיאִים מִשָּׁם אִישׁ מֵת בֵּן יָחִיד לְאִמּוֹ וְהִיא אִשָּׁה אַלְמָנָה וְרַבִּים מִן־הָעִיר עִמָּהּ׃ יב Luke Luk 7:12 Als er aber nahe an das Stadttor kam, siehe, da trug man einen Toten heraus, der ein einziger Sohn war seiner Mutter, und sie war eine Witwe; und viel Volks aus der Stadt ging mit ihr.(dhs) Luk 7:12 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:13 ============ Luk 7:13 When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, "Do not weep."(nas) Luk 7:13 καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν ὁ κύριος ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ᾽ αὐτῇ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ, μὴ κλαῖε. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:13 Quam cum vidisset Dominus, misericordia motus super eam, dixit illi: Noli flere.(vulgate) וַיַּרְא אֹתָהּ הָאָדוֹן וְרַחֲמָיו נִכְמְרוּ אֵלֶיהָ וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ אַל־תִּבְכִּי׃ יג Luke Luk 7:13 Und da sie der HERR sah, jammerte ihn derselben, und er sprach zu ihr: Weine nicht!(dhs) Luk 7:13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:14 ============ Luk 7:14 And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise!"(nas) Luk 7:14 καὶ προσελθὼν ἥψατο τῆς σοροῦ, οἱ δὲ βαστάζοντες ἔστησαν, καὶ εἶπεν, νεανίσκε, σοὶ λέγω, ἐγέρθητι. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:14 Et accessit, et tetigit loculum. (Hi autem qui portabant, steterunt.) Et ait: Adolescens, tibi dico, surge.(vulgate) וַיִּגַּשׁ וַיִּגַּע בַּמִּשְׁכָּב וְנֹשְׂאָיו עָמָדוּ וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה אֲנִי מְדַבֵּר אֵלֶיךָ קוּם בָּחוּר׃ יד Luke Luk 7:14 Und er trat hinzu und rührte den Sarg an; und die Träger standen. Und er sprach: Jüngling, ich sage dir, stehe auf!(dhs) Luk 7:14 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:15 ============ Luk 7:15 The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother.(nas) Luk 7:15 καὶ ἀνεκάθισεν ὁ νεκρὸς καὶ ἤρξατο λαλεῖν, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:15 Et resedit qui erat mortuus, et cœpit loqui. Et dedit illum matri suæ.(vulgate) וַיִּיקַץ הַמֵּת וַיֵּשֶׁב וַיָּחֶל לְדַבֵּר וְהוּא נְתָנוֹ אֶל־אִמּוֹ׃ טו Luke Luk 7:15 Und der Tote richtete sich auf und fing an zu reden; und er gab ihn seiner Mutter.(dhs) Luk 7:15 So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:16 ============ Luk 7:16 Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"(nas) Luk 7:16 ἔλαβεν δὲ φόβος πάντας, καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεὸν λέγοντες ὅτι προφήτης μέγας ἠγέρθη ἐν ἡμῖν, καὶ ὅτι ἐπεσκέψατο ὁ θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:16 Accepit autem omnes timor: et magnificabant Deum, dicentes: Quia propheta magnus surrexit in nobis: et quia Deus visitavit plebem suam.(vulgate) וְחִיל אָחַז אֶת־כֻּלָּם וַיְהַלְּלוּ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמְרוּ כִּי־נָבִיא גָדוֹל קָם בְּקִרְבֵּנוּ וְכִי־פָקַד אֱלֹהִים אֶת־עַמּוֹ׃ טז Luke Luk 7:16 Und es kam sie alle eine Furcht an und sie priesen Gott und sprachen: Es ist ein großer Prophet unter uns aufgestanden, und Gott hat sein Volk heimgesucht.(dhs) Luk 7:16 Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has risen up among us"; and, "God has visited His people."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:17 ============ Luk 7:17 This report concerning Him went out all over Judea and in all the surrounding district.(nas) Luk 7:17 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ λόγος οὖτος ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ἰουδαίᾳ περὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάσῃ τῇ περιχώρῳ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:17 Et exiit hic sermo in universam Judæam de eo, et in omnem circa regionem.~(vulgate) וּשְׁמוּעַת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה יָצְאָה בְּכָל־יְהוּדָה וּבְכָל־הַכִּכָּר מִסָּבִיב׃ יז Luke Luk 7:17 Und diese Rede von ihm erscholl in das ganze jüdische Land und in alle umliegenden Länder.(dhs) Luk 7:17 And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:18 ============ Luk 7:18 The disciples of John reported to him about all these things.(nas) Luk 7:18 καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν ἰωάννῃ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ περὶ πάντων τούτων. καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος δύο τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ὁ ἰωάννης (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:18 Et nuntiaverunt Joanni discipuli ejus de omnibus his.(vulgate) וּלְיוֹחָנָן הִגִּידוּ תַלְמִידָיו אֶת־כָּל־אֵלֶּה׃ יח Luke Luk 7:18 Und es verkündigten Johannes seine Jünger das alles. Und er rief zu sich seiner Jünger zwei(dhs) Luk 7:18 Then the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:19 ============ Luk 7:19 Summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, "Are You the Expected One, or do we look for someone else?"(nas) Luk 7:19 ἔπεμψεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον λέγων, σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:19 Et convocavit duos de discipulis suis Joannes, et misit ad Jesum, dicens: Tu es qui venturus es, an alium exspectamus?(vulgate) וַיִּקְרָא אֵלָיו יוֹחָנָן שְׁנַיִם מִתַּלְמִידָיו וַיִּשְׁלָחֵם אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ לֵאמֹר הַאַתָּה הוּא הַבָּא אוֹ אִם־נְחַכֶּה לְאַחֵר׃ יט Luke Luk 7:19 und sandte sie zu Jesu und ließ ihm sagen: Bist du, der da kommen soll, oder sollen wir eines andern warten?(dhs) Luk 7:19 And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?"(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:20 ============ Luk 7:20 When the men came to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to You, to ask, 'Are You the Expected One, or do we look for someone else?'"(nas) Luk 7:20 παραγενόμενοι δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες εἶπαν, ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς ἀπέστειλεν ἡμᾶς πρὸς σὲ λέγων, σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:20 Cum autem venissent ad eum viri, dixerunt: Joannes Baptista misit nos ad te dicens: Tu es qui venturus es, an alium exspectamus?(vulgate) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֵלָיו הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיֹּאמְרוּ יוֹחָנָן הַמְטַבֵּל שְׁלָחָנוּ אֵלֶיךָ לֵאמֹר הַאַתָּה הוּא הַבָּא אוֹ אִם־נְחַכֶּה לְאַחֵר׃ כ Luke Luk 7:20 Da aber die Männer zu ihm kamen, sprachen sie: Johannes der Täufer hat uns zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Bist du, der da kommen soll, oder sollen wir eines anderen warten?(dhs) Luk 7:20 When the men had come to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?' (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:23 et beatus est quicumque non fuerit scandalizatus in me.~(vulgate) וְאַשְׁרֵי הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִכָּשֵׁל בִּי׃ כג Luke Luk 7:23 und selig ist, wer sich nicht ärgert an mir.(dhs) Luk 7:23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:24 ============ Luk 7:24 When the messengers of John had left, He began to speak to the crowds about John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?(nas) Luk 7:24 ἀπελθόντων δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων ἰωάννου ἤρξατο λέγειν πρὸς τοὺς ὄχλους περὶ ἰωάννου, τί ἐξήλθατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι; κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:24 Et cum discessissent nuntii Joannis, cœpit de Joanne dicere ad turbas: Quid existis in desertum videre? arundinem vento agitatam?(vulgate) וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר הָלְכוּ מַלְאֲכֵי יוֹחָנָן וַיָּחֶל לְדַבֵּר אֶל־הֲמוֹן־הָעָם עַל־יוֹחָנָן מַה־זֶּה יְצָאתֶם הַמִּדְבָּרָה לִרְאוֹת הַאִם קָנֶה אֲשֶׁר יִנּוֹעַ מִפְּנֵי־רוּחַ׃ כד Luke Luk 7:24 Da aber die Boten des Johannes hingingen, fing Jesus an, zu reden zu dem Volk von Johannes: Was seid ihr hinausgegangen in die Wüste zu sehen? Wolltet ihr ein Rohr sehen, das vom Winde bewegt wird?(dhs) Luk 7:24 When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:25 ============ Luk 7:25 But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Those who are splendidly clothed and live in luxury are found in royal palaces!(nas) Luk 7:25 ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; ἄνθρωπον ἐν μαλακοῖς ἱματίοις ἠμφιεσμένον; ἰδοὺ οἱ ἐν ἱματισμῶ ἐνδόξῳ καὶ τρυφῇ ὑπάρχοντες ἐν τοῖς βασιλείοις εἰσίν. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:25 Sed quid existis videre? hominem mollibus vestibus indutum? Ecce qui in veste pretiosa sunt et deliciis, in domibus regum sunt.(vulgate) אַךְ מַה־זֶּה יְצָאתֶם לִרְאוֹת הַאִם אִישׁ לָבוּשׁ בִּגְדֵי חֲמֻדוֹת הִנֵּה לְבֻשֵׁי חֲמֻדוֹת וּמִתְעַדְּנִים בַּעֲדָנִים בְּחַצְרוֹת מְלָכִים הֵמָּה׃ כה Luke Luk 7:25 Oder was seid ihr hinausgegangen zu sehen? Wolltet ihr einen Menschen sehen in weichen Kleidern? Sehet, die in herrlichen Kleidern und Lüsten leben, die sind an den königlichen Höfen.(dhs) Luk 7:25 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings' courts.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:26 ============ Luk 7:26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one who is more than a prophet.(nas) Luk 7:26 ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; προφήτην; ναί, λέγω ὑμῖν, καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:30 Pharisæi autem et legisperiti consilium Dei spreverunt in semetipsos, non baptizati ab eo.(vulgate) אַךְ־הַפְּרוּשִׁים וְחַכְמֵי הַתּוֹרָה נִאֲצוּ אֶת־עֲצַת אֱלֹהִים וְלֹא נִטְבְּלוּ בִּטְבִילָתוֹ׃ ל Luke Luk 7:30 Aber die Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrten verachteten Gottes Rat wider sich selbst und ließen sich nicht von ihm taufen.(dhs) Luk 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:31 ============ Luk 7:31 "To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?(nas) Luk 7:31 τίνι οὗν ὁμοιώσω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης, καὶ τίνι εἰσὶν ὅμοιοι; (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:31 Ait autem Dominus: Cui ergo similes dicam homines generationis hujus? et cui similes sunt?(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָדוֹן וְאֶל־מִי אֲדַמֶּה בְנֵי הַדּוֹר הַזֶּה וּלְמִי הֵם דֹּמִים׃ לא Luke Luk 7:31 Aber der HERR sprach: Wem soll ich die Menschen dieses Geschlechts vergleichen, und wem sind sie gleich?(dhs) Luk 7:31 And the Lord said, "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like?(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:32 ============ Luk 7:32 They are like children who sit in the market place and call to one another, and they say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.'(nas) Luk 7:32 ὅμοιοί εἰσιν παιδίοις τοῖς ἐν ἀγορᾷ καθημένοις καὶ προσφωνοῦσιν ἀλλήλοις, ἃ λέγει, ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε· ἐθρηνήσαμεν καὶ οὐκ ἐκλαύσατε. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:35 Et justificata est sapientia ab omnibus filiis suis.~(vulgate) אַךְ הַחָכְמָה תִּצְטַדֵּק בְּמַעֲשֵׂי בָנֶיהָ כֻּלָּם׃ לה Luke Luk 7:35 Und die Weisheit muß sich rechtfertigen lassen von allen ihren Kindern.(dhs) Luk 7:35 But wisdom is justified by all her children."(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:36 ============ Luk 7:36 Now one of the Pharisees was requesting Him to dine with him, and He entered the Pharisee's house and reclined at the table.(nas) Luk 7:36 ἠρώτα δέ τις αὐτὸν τῶν φαρισαίων ἵνα φάγῃ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ· καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ φαρισαίου κατεκλίθη. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:37 ============ Luk 7:37 And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume,(nas) Luk 7:37 καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ ἥτις ἦν ἐν τῇ πόλει ἁμαρτωλός, καὶ ἐπιγνοῦσα ὅτι κατάκειται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ φαρισαίου, κομίσασα ἀλάβαστρον μύρου (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:37 Et ecce mulier, quæ erat in civitate peccatrix, ut cognovit quod accubuisset in domo pharisæi, attulit alabastrum unguenti:(vulgate) וְהִנֵּה אִשָּׁה חֹטַאַת בָּעִיר וְכַאֲשֶׁר שָׁמְעָה כִּי־הוּא יֹשֵׁב בִּמְסִבָּה בְּבֵית הַפָּרוּשׁ וַתִּקַּח צְלֹחִית שֶׁמֶן הַמֹּר׃ לז Luke Luk 7:37 Und siehe, ein Weib war in der Stadt, die war eine Sünderin. Da die vernahm, daß er zu Tische saß in des Pharisäers Hause, brachte sie ein Glas mit Salbe(dhs) Luk 7:37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:38 ============ Luk 7:38 and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume.(nas) Luk 7:38 καὶ στᾶσα ὀπίσω παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ κλαίουσα, τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἤρξατο βρέχειν τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ταῖς θριξὶν τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς ἐξέμασσεν, καὶ κατεφίλει τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤλειφεν τῶ μύρῳ. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:38 et stans retro secus pedes ejus, lacrimis cœpit rigare pedes ejus, et capillis capitis sui tergebat, et osculabatur pedes ejus, et unguento ungebat.(vulgate) וַתָּבֹא וַתַּעֲמֹד מֵאַחֲרָיו לְנֹכַח רַגְלָיו וַתֵּבְךְ וַתָּחֶל לִשְׁפֹּךְ דִּמְעוֹתֶיהָ עֲלֵי־רַגְלָיו וְלִמְחוֹת אֶת־הַדִּמְעָה מֵעֲלֵיהֶן בְּשַׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשָׁהּ וַתִּשַּׁק אֶת־רַגְלָיו וּמָשׁוֹחַ אוֹתָן בַּשָּׁמֶן׃ לח Luke Luk 7:38 und trat hinten zu seinen Füßen und weinte und fing an, seine Füße zu netzen mit Tränen und mit den Haaren ihres Hauptes zu trocknen, und küßte seine Füße und salbte sie mit Salbe.(dhs) Luk 7:38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.(nkjv) ======= Luke 7:39 ============ Luk 7:39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner."(nas) Luk 7:39 ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ φαρισαῖος ὁ καλέσας αὐτὸν εἶπεν ἐν ἑαυτῶ λέγων, οὖτος εἰ ἦν προφήτης, ἐγίνωσκεν ἂν τίς καὶ ποταπὴ ἡ γυνὴ ἥτις ἅπτεται αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἁμαρτωλός ἐστιν. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:41 Duo debitores erant cuidam fœneratori: unus debebat denarios quingentos, et alius quinquaginta.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר נֹשֶׁה אֶחָד הָיוּ־לוֹ שְׁנֵי בַעֲלֵי־חוֹב חוֹב הָאֶחָד חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת כֶּסֶף וְחוֹב הַשֵּׁנִי חֲמִשִּׁים׃ מא Luke Luk 7:41 Es hatte ein Gläubiger zwei Schuldner. Einer war schuldig fünfhundert Groschen, der andere fünfzig.(dhs) Luk 7:41 "There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. Quis ergo eum plus diligit?(vulgate) וְיַעַן כִּי לֹא הִשִּׂיגָה יָדָם לְשַׁלֶּם־לוֹ וַיַּשְׁמֵט מַשֵּׁה יָדוֹ מִשְּׁנֵיהֶם וְעַתָּה אֵיזֶה מִשְּׁנֵיהֶם יוֹסִיף לְאַהֲבָה אֹתוֹ׃ מב Luke Luk 7:42 Da sie aber nicht hatten, zu bezahlen, schenkte er's beiden. Sage an, welcher unter denen wird ihn am meisten lieben?(dhs) Luk 7:42 And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. At ille dixit: Recte judicasti.(vulgate) וַיַּעַן שִׁמְעוֹן וַיֹּאמַר זֶה הוּא לְפִי מַחֲשַׁבְתִּי אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַט לוֹ הַרְבֵּה וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו כֵּן חָרָצְתָּ׃ מג Luke Luk 7:43 Simon antwortete und sprach: Ich achte, dem er am meisten geschenkt hat. Er aber sprach zu ihm: Du hast recht gerichtet.(dhs) Luk 7:43 Simon answered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgave more." I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.(nas) Luk 7:44 καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα τῶ σίμωνι ἔφη, βλέπεις ταύτην τὴν γυναῖκα; εἰσῆλθόν σου εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν, ὕδωρ μοι ἐπὶ πόδας οὐκ ἔδωκας· αὕτη δὲ τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἔβρεξέν μου τοὺς πόδας καὶ ταῖς θριξὶν αὐτῆς ἐξέμαξεν. (Nestle-Aland) Luk 7:44 Et conversus ad mulierem, dixit Simoni: Vides hanc mulierem? Intravi in domum tuam, aquam pedibus meis non dedisti: hæc autem lacrimis rigavit pedes meos, et capillis suis tersit.(vulgate) וַיִּפֶן אֶל־הָאִשָּׁה וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־שִׁמְעוֹן הֲרֹאֶה אַתָּה אֶת־הָאִשָּׁה הַזֹּאת הִנֵּה בָּאתִי לְבֵיתְךָ וּמַיִם לֹא נָתַתָּ לְרַגְלָי וְהִיא דִּמְעוֹתֶיהָ שָׁפְכָה עַל־רַגְלַי וַתִּמַח אֶת־הַדִּמְעָה מֵעֲלֵיהֶן בְּשַׂעֲרוֹתֶיהָ׃ מד Luke Luk 7:44 Und er wandte sich zu dem Weibe und sprach zu Simon: Siehest du dies Weib? Ich bin gekommen in dein Haus; du hast mir nicht Wasser gegeben zu meinen Füßen; diese aber hat meine Füße mit Tränen genetzt und mit den Haaren ihres Hauptes getrocknet.(dhs) Luk 7:44 Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? Cui autem minus dimittitur, minus diligit.(vulgate) עַל־כֵּן אֲנִי אֹמֵר אֵלֶיךָ חַטֹּאתֶיהָ הָרַבּוֹת נִסְלְחוּ־לָהּ כִּי אַהֲבָתָהּ רַבָּה וּמִי אֲשֶׁר מְעַט מִזְעָר נִסְלַח־לוֹ אַהֲבָתוֹ מְעַט מִזְעָר׃ מז Luke Luk 7:47 Derhalben sage ich dir: Ihr sind viele Sünden vergeben, denn sie hat viel geliebt; welchem aber wenig vergeben wird, der liebt wenig.(dhs) Luk 7:47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much.
