Today's Date: ======= Romans 12:1 ============ Rom 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.(nas) Rom 12:1 παρακαλῶ οὗν ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, διὰ τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν τοῦ θεοῦ, παραστῆσαι τὰ σώματα ὑμῶν θυσίαν ζῶσαν ἁγίαν εὐάρεστον τῶ θεῶ, τὴν λογικὴν λατρείαν ὑμῶν· (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:1 Obsecro itaque vos fratres per misericordiam Dei, ut exhibeatis corpora vestra hostiam viventem, sanctam, Deo placentem, rationabile obsequium vestrum.(vulgate) וְעַתָּה אֲנִי מִתְחַנֵּן אֲלֵכֶם אַחַי בָּרַחֲמֵי אֱלֹהִים לְהַקְדִּישׁ אֶת־גְּוִיּוֹתֵיכֶם כְּקָרְבָּן חַי וְקָדוֹשׁ לְרָצוֹן לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־בְזֹאת תַּשְׂכִּילוּ לַעֲבֹד אֹתוֹ׃ א Romans Rom 12:1 Ich ermahne euch nun, liebe Brüder, durch die Barmherzigkeit Gottes, daß ihr eure Leiber begebet zum Opfer, das da lebendig, heilig und Gott wohlgefällig sei, welches sei euer vernünftiger Gottesdienst.(dhs) Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:2 ============ Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.(nas) Rom 12:2 καὶ μὴ συσχηματίζεσθε τῶ αἰῶνι τούτῳ, ἀλλὰ μεταμορφοῦσθε τῇ ἀνακαινώσει τοῦ νοός, εἰς τὸ δοκιμάζειν ὑμᾶς τί τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, τὸ ἀγαθὸν καὶ εὐάρεστον καὶ τέλειον. Hat jemand ein Amt, so warte er des Amts. Lehrt jemand, so warte er der Lehre.(dhs) Rom 12:7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:8 ============ Rom 12:8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.(nas) Rom 12:8 εἴτε ὁ παρακαλῶν ἐν τῇ παρακλήσει, ὁ μεταδιδοὺς ἐν ἁπλότητι, ὁ προϊστάμενος ἐν σπουδῇ, ὁ ἐλεῶν ἐν ἱλαρότητι. (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:8 qui exhortatur in exhortando, qui tribuit in simplicitate, qui præest in sollicitudine, qui miseretur in hilaritate.~(vulgate) הַמוֹכִיחַ יַשְׂכִּיל פִּיהוּ בְתוֹכַחְתּוֹ הַנֹּתֵן יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ בְּמַתְּנַת יָדוֹ הָעֹמֵד בְּרֹאשׁ הָעֵדָה יַעֲמֹד כְּאִישׁ חָרוּץ וְהַגֹּמֵל חֶסֶד יִגְמֹל בְּטוּב לֵב׃ ח Romans Rom 12:8 Ermahnt jemand, so warte er des Ermahnens. Gibt jemand, so gebe er einfältig. Regiert jemand, so sei er sorgfältig. Übt jemand Barmherzigkeit, so tue er's mit Lust.(dhs) Rom 12:8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:9 ============ Rom 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.(nas) Rom 12:9 ἡ ἀγάπη ἀνυπόκριτος. ἀποστυγοῦντες τὸ πονηρόν, κολλώμενοι τῶ ἀγαθῶ· (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:9 Dilectio sine simulatione: odientes malum, adhærentes bono:(vulgate) אַל־תְּהִי אַהֲבַתְכֶם בִּשְׂפַת חֲלָקוֹת שִׁנְאוּ אֶת־הָרָע וְדִבְקוּ בַּטּוֹב׃ ט Romans Rom 12:9 Die Liebe sei nicht falsch. Hasset das Arge, hanget dem Guten an.(dhs) Rom 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:10 ============ Rom 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;(nas) Rom 12:10 τῇ φιλαδελφίᾳ εἰς ἀλλήλους φιλόστοργοι, τῇ τιμῇ ἀλλήλους προηγούμενοι, (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:10 caritate fraternitatis invicem diligentes: honore invicem prævenientes:(vulgate) אֶהֱבוּ אִישׁ אֶת־אָחִיהוּ מִמְּקוֹר רַחֲמֵיכֶם וְכַבְּדוּ אִישׁ אֶת־חֲבֵרוֹ יוֹתֵר מִנַּפְשְׁכֶם׃ י Romans Rom 12:10 Die brüderliche Liebe untereinander sei herzlich. Einer komme dem andern mit Ehrerbietung zuvor.(dhs) Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:11 ============ Rom 12:11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;(nas) Rom 12:11 τῇ σπουδῇ μὴ ὀκνηροί, τῶ πνεύματι ζέοντες, τῶ κυρίῳ δουλεύοντες, (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:11 sollicitudine non pigri: spiritu ferventes: Domino servientes:(vulgate) שִׁקְדוּ עַל־מַעֲשֵׂיכֶם וְאַל־תֵּעָצְלוּ הִתְאשְׁשׁוּ בָרוּחַ וְעִבְדוּ אֶת־יְהוָֹה׃ יא Romans Rom 12:11 Seid nicht träge in dem, was ihr tun sollt. Seid brünstig im Geiste. Schicket euch in die Zeit.(dhs) Rom 12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:12 ============ Rom 12:12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,(nas) Rom 12:12 τῇ ἐλπίδι χαίροντες, τῇ θλίψει ὑπομένοντες, τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτεροῦντες, (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:12 spe gaudentes: in tribulatione patientes: orationi instantes:(vulgate) שִׂמְחוּ בַתִּקְוָה הוֹחִילוּ בַצָּרָה חִזְקוּ וְאִמְצוּ בַתְּפִלָּה תָּמִיד׃ יב Romans Rom 12:12 Seid fröhlich in Hoffnung, geduldig in Trübsal, haltet an am Gebet.(dhs) Rom 12:12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:13 ============ Rom 12:13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.(nas) Rom 12:13 ταῖς χρείαις τῶν ἁγίων κοινωνοῦντες, τὴν φιλοξενίαν διώκοντες. (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:13 necessitatibus sanctorum communicantes: hospitalitatem sectantes.(vulgate) הִתְחַבְּרוּ לְמַלֹּאת מַחֲסֹרֵי הַקְּדוֹשִׁים וְחוּשׁוּ לְהָבִיא אֹרְחִים לְבָתֵּיכֶם׃ יג Romans Rom 12:13 Nehmet euch der Notdurft der Heiligen an. Nolite esse prudentes apud vosmetipsos:(vulgate) שִׁיתוּ אֶת לִבְּכֶם לַחְשֹׁב אִישׁ אִישׁ כִּלְבַב אָחִיו אַל־תְּהַלְּכוּ בִגְדֹלוֹת מִכֶּם הִתְרוֹעֲעוּ עִם־עֲנָוִים וְאַל־תִּהְיוּ חֲכָמִים בְּעֵינֵיכֶם׃ טז Romans Rom 12:16 Habt einerlei Sinn untereinander. Trachtet nicht nach hohen Dingen, sondern haltet euch herunter zu den Niedrigen.(dhs) Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:17 ============ Rom 12:17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.(nas) Rom 12:17 μηδενὶ κακὸν ἀντὶ κακοῦ ἀποδιδόντες· προνοούμενοι καλὰ ἐνώπιον πάντων ἀνθρώπων· (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:17 nulli malum pro malo reddentes: providentes bona non tantum coram Deo, sed etiam coram omnibus hominibus.(vulgate) אַל־תִּגְמְלוּ לְאִישׁ רָעָה תַּחַת רָעָה חוּשׁוּ לַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת־הַטּוֹב בְּעֵינֵי־כֹל׃ יז Romans Rom 12:17 Haltet euch nicht selbst für klug. Vergeltet niemand Böses mit Bösem. Fleißigt euch der Ehrbarkeit gegen jedermann.(dhs) Rom 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil. Scriptum est enim: Mihi vindicta: ego retribuam, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) אַל־תִּתְנַקְּמוּ יְדִידִים כִּי אִם־תְּנוּ מָקוֹם לַחֲרוֹן־אָף כִּי כָתוּב לִי נָקָם אֲנִי אֲשַׁלֵם אָמַר יְהוָֹה׃ יט Romans Rom 12:19 Rächet euch selber nicht, meine Liebsten, sondern gebet Raum dem Zorn Gottes; denn es steht geschrieben: "Die Rache ist mein; ich will vergelten, spricht der HERR."(dhs) Rom 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Romans 12:20 ============ Rom 12:20 "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD."(nas) Rom 12:20 ἀλλὰ ἐὰν πεινᾷ ὁ ἐχθρός σου, ψώμιζε αὐτόν· ἐὰν διψᾷ, πότιζε αὐτόν· τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν ἄνθρακας πυρὸς σωρεύσεις ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Rom 12:20 Sed si esurierit inimicus tuus, ciba illum: si sitit, potum da illi: hoc enim faciens, carbones ignis congeres super caput ejus.(vulgate) וְאִם־רָעֵב שׂנַאֲךָ הַאֲכִילֵהוּ לֶחֶם וְאִם־צָמֵא הַשְׁקֵהוּ מָיִם כִּי גֶחָלִים אַתָּה חֹתֶה עַל־רֹאשׁוֹ׃ כ Romans Rom 12:20 So nun deinen Feind hungert, so speise ihn; dürstet ihn, so tränke ihn.
