(Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:1 Agite nunc divites, plorate ululantes in miseriis vestris, quæ advenient vobis.(vulgate) הוֹי עֲשִׁירֵי עָם זַעֲקוּ הֵילִילוּ לַצָּרוֹת אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרֶינָה אֶתְכֶם׃ א James Jas 5:1 Wohlan nun, ihr Reichen, weinet und heulet über euer Elend, das über euch kommen wird!(dhs) Jam 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!(nkjv) ======= James 5:2 ============ Jas 5:2 Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten.(nas) Jas 5:2 ὁ πλοῦτος ὑμῶν σέσηπεν καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια ὑμῶν σητόβρωτα γέγονεν, (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:2 Divitiæ vestræ putrefactæ sunt, et vestimenta vestra a tineis comesta sunt.(vulgate) עָשְׁרְכֶם רָקָב וּבִגְדֵיכֶם יֹאכַל עָשׁ׃ ב James Jas 5:2 Euer Reichtum ist verfault, eure Kleider sind mottenfräßig geworden.(dhs) Jam 5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.(nkjv) ======= James 5:3 ============ Jas 5:3 Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!(nas) Jas 5:3 ὁ χρυσὸς ὑμῶν καὶ ὁ ἄργυρος κατίωται, καὶ ὁ ἰὸς αὐτῶν εἰς μαρτύριον ὑμῖν ἔσται καὶ φάγεται τὰς σάρκας ὑμῶν ὡς πῦρ· ἐθησαυρίσατε ἐν ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:3 Aurum et argentum vestrum æruginavit: et ærugo eorum in testimonium vobis erit, et manducabit carnes vestras sicut ignis. Thesaurizastis vobis iram in novissimis diebus.(vulgate) הַזָּהָב יוּעַם הַכֶּסֶף יִשְׁנֶא וְהוֹן נִמְאָס הַזֶּה יַעֲנֶה בָכֶם לְעֵד וְאָכַל בְּשַׂרְכֶם כָּאֵשׁ זֶה הוּא הָאוֹצָר אֲצַרְתֶּם לָכֶם לְיוֹם אַחֲרוֹן׃ ג James Jas 5:3 Euer Gold und Silber ist verrostet, und sein Rost wird euch zum Zeugnis sein und wird euer Fleisch fressen wie ein Feuer. Ihr habt euch Schätze gesammelt in den letzten Tagen.(dhs) Jam 5:3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.(nkjv) ======= James 5:4 ============ Jas 5:4 Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.(nas) Jas 5:4 ἰδοὺ ὁ μισθὸς τῶν ἐργατῶν τῶν ἀμησάντων τὰς χώρας ὑμῶν ὁ ἀπεστερημένος ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν κράζει, καὶ αἱ βοαὶ τῶν θερισάντων εἰς τὰ ὦτα κυρίου σαβαὼθ εἰσεληλύθασιν. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:4 Ecce merces operariorum, qui messuerunt regiones vestras, quæ fraudata est a vobis, clamat: et clamor eorum in aures Domini sabbaoth introivit.(vulgate) הִנֵּה שְׂכַר הַפֹּעֲלִים יִזְעָק שְׂכַר קֹצְרֵי שְׂדֹתֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר עֲשַׁקְתֶּם וְזַעֲקַת הַקֹּצְרִים בָּאָה בְאָזְנֵי יְהוָֹה צְבָאוֹת׃ ד James Jas 5:4 Siehe, der Arbeiter Lohn, die euer Land eingeerntet haben, der von euch abgebrochen ist, der schreit, und das Rufen der Ernter ist gekommen vor die Ohren des HERRN Zebaoth.(dhs) Jam 5:4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.(nkjv) ======= James 5:5 ============ Jas 5:5 You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.(nas) Jas 5:5 ἐτρυφήσατε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐσπαταλήσατε, ἐθρέψατε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σφαγῆς. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:5 Epulati estis super terram, et in luxuriis enutristis corda vestra in die occisionis.(vulgate) הִתְעַנַּגְתֶּם בָּאָרֶץ הִתְעַדַּנְתֶּם וַיִּשְׁמַן לִבְּכֶם כְּמוֹ לְיוֹם טִבְחָה׃ ה James Jas 5:5 Ihr habt wohlgelebt auf Erden und eure Wollust gehabt und eure Herzen geweidet am Schlachttag.(dhs) Jam 5:5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.(nkjv) ======= James 5:6 ============ Jas 5:6 You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.(nas) Jas 5:6 κατεδικάσατε, ἐφονεύσατε τὸν δίκαιον. οὐκ ἀντιτάσσεται ὑμῖν. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:6 Addixistis, et occidistis justum, et non resistit vobis.~(vulgate) הִרְשַׁעְתֶּם הֲמִיתֶּם אֶת־הַצַּדִּיק וְהוּא לֹא־עָמַד בִּפְנֵיכֶם׃ ו James Jas 5:6 Ihr habt verurteilt den Gerechten und getötet, und er hat euch nicht widerstanden.(dhs) Jam 5:6 You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.(nkjv) ======= James 5:7 ============ Jas 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.(nas) Jas 5:7 μακροθυμήσατε οὗν, ἀδελφοί, ἕως τῆς παρουσίας τοῦ κυρίου. ἰδοὺ ὁ γεωργὸς ἐκδέχεται τὸν τίμιον καρπὸν τῆς γῆς, μακροθυμῶν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶ ἕως λάβῃ πρόϊμον καὶ ὄψιμον. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:7 Patientes igitur estote, fratres, usque ad adventum Domini. Ecce agricola exspectat pretiosum fructum terræ, patienter ferens donec accipiat temporaneum et serotinum.(vulgate) עַל־כֵּן דֹּמּוּ אַחַי עַד־בֹּא הָאָדוֹן הִנֵּה הָאִכָּר יְחַכֶּה לִתְבוּאַת הָאֲדָמָה הַטּוֹבָה יְיַחֵל עַד־אֲשֶׁר יָבוֹא יוֹרֶה וּמַלְקוֹשׁ׃ ז James Jas 5:7 So seid nun geduldig, liebe Brüder, bis auf die Zukunft des HERRN. Siehe, ein Ackermann wartet auf die köstliche Frucht der Erde und ist geduldig darüber, bis er empfange den Frühregen und den Spätregen.(dhs) Jam 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.(nkjv) ======= James 5:8 ============ Jas 5:8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.(nas) Jas 5:8 μακροθυμήσατε καὶ ὑμεῖς, στηρίξατε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν, ὅτι ἡ παρουσία τοῦ κυρίου ἤγγικεν. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:8 Patientes igitur estote et vos, et confirmate corda vestra: quoniam adventus Domini appropinquavit.(vulgate) כֵּן הוֹחִילוּ גַם־אַתֶּם אַמְּצוּ אֶת־לִבְּכֶם כִּי פְנֵי הָאָדוֹן הִנֵּה בָּאִים׃ ח James Jas 5:8 Seid ihr auch geduldig und stärket eure Herzen; denn die Zukunft des HERRN ist nahe.(dhs) Jam 5:8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.(nkjv) ======= James 5:9 ============ Jas 5:9 Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.(nas) Jas 5:9 μὴ στενάζετε, ἀδελφοί, κατ᾽ ἀλλήλων, ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε· ἰδοὺ ὁ κριτὴς πρὸ τῶν θυρῶν ἕστηκεν. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:9 Nolite ingemiscere, fratres, in alterutrum, ut non judicemini. Ecce judex ante januam assistit.(vulgate) אַל־תִּלּוֹנוּ אַחַי אִישׁ עַל־רֵעֵהוּ וְלֹא תֶאְשְׁמוּ בַמִּשְׁפָּט הִנֵּה הַשֹּׁפֵט עֹמֵד לַפָּתַח׃ ט James Jas 5:9 Seufzet nicht widereinander, liebe Brüder, auf daß ihr nicht verdammt werdet. Siehe, der Richter ist vor der Tür.(dhs) Jam 5:9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!(nkjv) ======= James 5:10 ============ Jas 5:10 As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.(nas) Jas 5:10 ὑπόδειγμα λάβετε, ἀδελφοί, τῆς κακοπαθείας καὶ τῆς μακροθυμίας τοὺς προφήτας, οἳ ἐλάλησαν ἐν τῶ ὀνόματι κυρίου. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:10 Exemplum accipite, fratres, exitus mali, laboris, et patientiæ, prophetas qui locuti sunt in nomine Domini.(vulgate) קְחוּ לָכֶם אַחַי לְמוֹפֵת צָרוֹת הַנְּבִיאִים וְאֹרֶךְ רוּחָם הַנְּבִיאִים אֲשֶׁר דִּבְּרוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה׃ י James Jas 5:10 Nehmet, meine lieben Brüder, zum Exempel des Leidens und der Geduld die Propheten, die geredet haben in dem Namen des HERRN.(dhs) Jam 5:10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.(nkjv) ======= James 5:11 ============ Jas 5:11 We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.(nas) Jas 5:11 ἰδοὺ μακαρίζομεν τοὺς ὑπομείναντας· τὴν ὑπομονὴν ἰὼβ ἠκούσατε, καὶ τὸ τέλος κυρίου εἴδετε, ὅτι πολύσπλαγχνός ἐστιν ὁ κύριος καὶ οἰκτίρμων. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:11 Ecce beatificamus eos qui sustinuerunt. Sufferentiam Job audistis, et finem Domini vidistis, quoniam misericors Dominus est, et miserator.~(vulgate) הִנֵּה אֲנַחְנוּ מְאַשְּׁרִים כֹּחַ הַסַּבָּל וְכֹחַ סִבְלוֹת אִיּוֹב הֲלֹא שְׁמַעְתֶּם וְגַם רְאִיתֶם מֶה־הָיְתָה אַחֲרִיתוֹ מֵאֵת יְהוָֹה כִּי יְהוָֹה רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן הוּא׃ יא James Jas 5:11 Siehe, wir preisen selig, die erduldet haben. Die Geduld Hiobs habt ihr gehört, und das Ende des HERRN habt ihr gesehen; denn der HERR ist barmherzig und ein Erbarmer.(dhs) Jam 5:11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord--that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.(nkjv) ======= James 5:12 ============ Jas 5:12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment.(nas) Jas 5:12 πρὸ πάντων δέ, ἀδελφοί μου, μὴ ὀμνύετε, μήτε τὸν οὐρανὸν μήτε τὴν γῆν μήτε ἄλλον τινὰ ὅρκον· ἤτω δὲ ὑμῶν τὸ ναὶ ναὶ καὶ τὸ οὒ οὔ, ἵνα μὴ ὑπὸ κρίσιν πέσητε. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:12 Ante omnia autem, fratres mei, nolite jurare, neque per cælum, neque per terram, neque aliud quodcumque juramentum. Sit autem sermo vester: Est, est: Non, non: ut non sub judicio decidatis.~(vulgate) וְעַתָּה אַחַי לִפְנֵי כָל־דָּבָר אַל־תִּשָּׁבְעוּ לֹא בַשָּׁמַיִם וְלֹא בָאָרֶץ וְלֹא כָל־שְׁבוּעָה אַחֶרֶת וְכֹה יִהְיֶה דְבַרְכֶם הֵן הֵן אוֹ לֹא לֹא פֶּן־תֵּעָנְשׁוּ בַּמִּשְׁפָּט׃ יב James Jas 5:12 Vor allen Dingen aber, meine Brüder, schwöret nicht, weder bei dem Himmel noch bei der Erde noch mit einem andern Eid. Æquo animo est? psallat.(vulgate) אִם־יֵצַר לְאִישׁ מִכֶּם יִתְפַּלֵּל וְאִם לִבּוֹ טוֹב עָלָיו יְזַמֵּר׃ יג James Jas 5:13 Leidet jemand unter euch, der bete; ist jemand gutes Muts, der singe Psalmen.(dhs) Jam 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.(nkjv) ======= James 5:14 ============ Jas 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;(nas) Jas 5:14 ἀσθενεῖ τις ἐν ὑμῖν; προσκαλεσάσθω τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τῆς ἐκκλησίας, καὶ προσευξάσθωσαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἀλείψαντες [αὐτὸν] ἐλαίῳ ἐν τῶ ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου· (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:14 Infirmatur quis in vobis? inducat presbyteros ecclesiæ, et orent super eum, ungentes eum oleo in nomine Domini:(vulgate) אִם־יִהְיֶה בָּכֶם חֹלֶה יִקְרָא לְזִקְנֵי הָעֵדָה וְהִתְפַּלְלוּ עָלָיו וּמָשְׁחוּ אֹתוֹ שֶׁמֶן בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה׃ יד James Jas 5:14 ist jemand krank, der rufe zu sich die Ältesten von der Gemeinde, daß sie über ihm beten und salben ihn mit Öl in dem Namen des HERRN.(dhs) Jam 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= James 5:15 ============ Jas 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.(nas) Jas 5:15 καὶ ἡ εὐχὴ τῆς πίστεως σώσει τὸν κάμνοντα, καὶ ἐγερεῖ αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος· κἂν ἁμαρτίας ᾖ πεποιηκώς, ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῶ. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:15 et oratio fidei salvabit infirmum, et alleviabit eum Dominus: et si in peccatis sit, remittentur ei.(vulgate) וּתְפִלָּה עִם־אֱמוּנָה תַּעֲזֹר לַחֹלֶה וַיהוָֹה יְקִימֶנּוּ וְאִם חָטָא וְנִסְלַח־לוֹ׃ טו James Jas 5:15 Und das Gebet des Glaubens wird dem Kranken helfen, und der HERR wird ihn aufrichten; und so er hat Sünden getan, werden sie ihm vergeben sein.(dhs) Jam 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.(nkjv) ======= James 5:16 ============ Jas 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.(nas) Jas 5:16 ἐξομολογεῖσθε οὗν ἀλλήλοις τὰς ἁμαρτίας καὶ εὔχεσθε ὑπὲρ ἀλλήλων, ὅπως ἰαθῆτε. πολὺ ἰσχύει δέησις δικαίου ἐνεργουμένη. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:16 Confitemini ergo alterutrum peccata vestra, et orate pro invicem ut salvemini: multum enim valet deprecatio justi assidua.(vulgate) לָכֵן הִתְוַדּוּ עֲוֹנוֹתֵיכֶם אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ וְהִתְפַּלְלוּ אִישׁ בְּעַד רֵעֵהוּ וְרָפָא לָכֶם כִּי־תְפִלַּת צַדִּיק רַב כֹּחָהּ בִּפְעֻלָּתָהּ׃ טז James Jas 5:16 Bekenne einer dem andern seine Sünden und betet füreinander, daß ihr gesund werdet. Des Gerechten Gebet vermag viel, wenn es ernstlich ist.(dhs) Jam 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.(nkjv) ======= James 5:17 ============ Jas 5:17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.(nas) Jas 5:17 ἠλίας ἄνθρωπος ἦν ὁμοιοπαθὴς ἡμῖν, καὶ προσευχῇ προσηύξατο τοῦ μὴ βρέξαι, καὶ οὐκ ἔβρεξεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐνιαυτοὺς τρεῖς καὶ μῆνας ἕξ· (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:17 Elias homo erat similis nobis passibilis: et oratione oravit ut non plueret super terram, et non pluit annos tres, et menses sex.(vulgate) אֵלִיָּהוּ הָיָה בַּעַל נֶפֶשׁ כָּמֹנוּ וְהִתְפַּלֵּל לְבִלְתִּי הֱיוֹת מָטָר וְלֹא־הָיָה מָטָר עַל־הָאָרֶץ שָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִים וְשִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים׃ יז James Jas 5:17 Elia war ein Mensch gleich wie wir; und er betete ein Gebet, daß es nicht regnen sollte, und es regnete nicht auf Erden drei Jahre und sechs Monate.(dhs) Jam 5:17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.(nkjv) ======= James 5:18 ============ Jas 5:18 Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.(nas) Jas 5:18 καὶ πάλιν προσηύξατο, καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς ὑετὸν ἔδωκεν καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐβλάστησεν τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῆς. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:18 Et rursum oravit: et cælum dedit pluviam, et terra dedit fructum suum.~(vulgate) וַיָּשָׁב וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל וְהַשָּׁמַיִם הֶעֱרִיפוּ מָטָר וְהָאָרֶץ נָתְנָה אֶת־יְבוּלָהּ׃ יח James Jas 5:18 Und er betete abermals, und der Himmel gab den Regen, und die Erde brachte ihre Frucht.(dhs) Jam 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.(nkjv) ======= James 5:19 ============ Jas 5:19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back,(nas) Jas 5:19 ἀδελφοί μου, ἐάν τις ἐν ὑμῖν πλανηθῇ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀληθείας καὶ ἐπιστρέψῃ τις αὐτόν, (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:19 Fratres mei, si quis ex vobis erraverit a veritate, et converterit quis eum:(vulgate) אַחַי אִם אֶחָד מִכֶּם יָסוּר מִדֶּרֶךְ הָאֱמֶת וְאִישׁ אַחֵר יְשִׁיבֶנּוּ׃ יט James Jas 5:19 Liebe Brüder, so jemand unter euch irren würde von der Wahrheit, und jemand bekehrte ihn,(dhs) Jam 5:19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,(nkjv) ======= James 5:20 ============ Jas 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.(nas) Jas 5:20 γινωσκέτω ὅτι ὁ ἐπιστρέψας ἁμαρτωλὸν ἐκ πλάνης ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ σώσει ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ θανάτου καὶ καλύψει πλῆθος ἁμαρτιῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Jas 5:20 scire debet quoniam qui converti fecerit peccatorem ab errore viæ suæ, salvabit animam ejus a morte, et operiet multitudinem peccatorum.(vulgate) יֵדַע־נָא כִּי הַמֵּשִׁיב אֶת־הַחוֹטֵא מִדֶּרֶךְ פִּשְׁעוֹ יַצִּיל נֶפֶשׁ מִמָּוֶת וִיכַסֶּה עַל־פְּשָׁעִים רַבִּים׃ כ James Jas 5:20 der soll wissen, daß, wer den Sünder bekehrt hat von dem Irrtum seines Weges, der hat einer Seele vom Tode geholfen und wird bedecken die Menge der Sünden.(dhs) Jam 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.(nkjv) top of the page
